An oatmeal bath will immediately relieve the itch in chicken pox, poison ivy, poison oak, hives, and bug bites! It also reduces inflammation and is a great conditioner for the skin. All you do is place 1 cup of uncooked oats into a clean white cotton sock, tying the open end in a knot. Place the sock in your warm bath water, sit and soak for 30 minutes. Use the oatmeal sock as your wash cloth before getting out. I don't rinse off the 'oat milk'. This will give hours of relief along with shrinking welts.

Apple Cider Vinegar

Have just finished reading an old book on molasses and it contains not only most minerals our body needs but also all Vit.B complex properties and it is B2 to stop greying hair. Extremely beneficial for good health. Apple cider vinegar is another everyone should drink it is also a skin rejuvinater, just a tad in the morning wash however I believe that is it rejuvinates the skin and the skin being our biggest organ then it must have the same affect on our internal organs, it is also a blood cleanser and flushes our organs, builds up white blood cells which fight infection. Softens arteries lessing the risk of clotting, and it also prevents heart burn, 1-2 drinks a day, 1 tablespoon in a cup with a teaspoon of honey (manuka if possible) put cold water on top and then hottish water on top of that and drink once stirred. Very refreshing. It is also a neutrilizer so if you're scratching, chicken pox or measles flea bit just dab vinegar on and it will stop immediately, there is over 100 different benfits of applecider, however a short mention on lemon juice, liver loves sour, {if you have a crook liver it doesn't like grapefruit),our liver needs sour to function fully as it works overtime and our diets are full of processed flours and sugars etc.one lemon drink in the morning will alkalize your body for the day and prepare it for its acidic onslaught. It has to be before you have anything to eat or drink. Give it half an hour before breaksfast. Please place cold water on top of the lemon before adding the hot to protect the properties, especially Vit.C as it is destroyed with heat. Add a tsp of honey. Honey is also good for sore throats, 1 tsp of honey on a spoon also does wonders for us. Good health to you all.

Dear Zeeshan,

If it is chicken pox, the spots will begin to blister. They may itch or become painful. Try 1-2 cups of baking soda in a warm bath for 20 minutes at least daily.

Try 1 Tablespoon of extra virgin coconut oil three times a day, internally. You can also use coconut oil on the spots if they itch.

Take as much vitamin C as you can. You can take 1, 000 mg every hour or two, or even more. If you begin to get diarrhea, cut back a little bit. If you can get Emergen-C, my children really like to take vitamin C that way.

Try to get some sunshine each day if weather permits. At least 20 minutes on as much skin as weather and decency will allow.

Avoid dairy until you are feeling better, unless you have access to raw milk products, in which case yogurt or kefir may be helpful.

Even if what you have is not chicken pox, the above remedies are quite safe and may help whatever it is that you are dealing with.

I hope you feel better soon!

I'm 48 years old (49 in July) and have just contracted the Chicken Pox for the first time. After being exposed to my husband's Shingles, I began taking 1 mg of B-12 daily, 500 mg of L-Lysine (which I have increased to 3000 mg) daily, olive leaf complex (approx. 1 1/2 tsp - 1Tbsp every 2hours), colloidal silver (about 1 tsp 3-5 x daily), as well as putting tea tree oil on each spot multiple times a day. In addition to this I make the Calcium Benonite clay with ACV and cayenne mixed into it. I put this on and let it dry for 20 minutes then wash it off with tea tree oil soap. Once I've dried off, I put organic cold pressed coconut oil all over.

Unfortunately, I am just getting worse. This is day 5 of the rash and now my glands are swollen and my throat is hurting.

I am wondering if anyone has had experience with adult Chicken Pox. What suggestions do you have for either decrease the duration, decrease the discomfort, or am I actually doing better than most adults? I understand Adult Chicken Pox can be serious. At what point do I consider a doctor? Or is it too late for that at this point?

Final note, I also took an oatmeal bath last night but feel much worse through the night.

While researching oil of oregano I read on another blog that the person reported good results using OofO with shingles. Do a search for that combo of keywords but don't use OofO straight; cut it with another kind of oil, e.g., olive, sesame, coconut, etc. before applying to the skin.

Oatmeal baths are very soothing too but you have to be careful when standing up in the tub because it gets very slippery.

Coconut is anti-viral. You'll want to consider taking it orally (by the tablespoon) as well as applying it topically.

Please consider going to the doctor to get anti-viral medication asap. I had chicken pox when I was in my 30's and it got so bad that I couldn't walk. I was carried to/from the bathroom/bed. Once I started the anti-virals, I started getting better. My daughter now has chicken pox, she is 15, and we got her anti-virals. We are still doing all the natural remedies too, but within a matter of hours the spots spread all over her trunk/neck, so the anti-virals have kept it from spreading more. If it gets into your mouth/throat, you may need steroids, too. You don't want a breathing issue. Chicken Pox are so much more dangerous the older you are. My one year old only got 8 spots!

Neem

Neem Oil for Chicken Pox. Yea.

This is our second case of Chicken Pox, read my post under Oatmeal Baths. Colloidal Silver, Vitamin C and Lysine did not work, our first child had the worst case I hope to see. Note she did have a compromised immune system from Chemo!

For our second child I came back to EC and saw the Neem Leaves remedy, I have no idea where I could get them from so I tried Neem Oil applied to each spot as it came up. It did not really seem to make much difference for a day or two but we did not get any but the first few that blistered and the rest crusted over and are already fading on about day five, instead of after about 2 weeks or more. None got really big after we started the Neem oil, I would probably cover the whole body at the first sign of CP as over time with more spots thats what you will end up doing anyway. Neem Oil smells terrible and leaves an awful ring around the bath. She also got itchy after putting the Oil on so have an Oatmeal bath ready and waiting. Keep it on as long as possible.

We also used large doses of Olive Leaf Extract in both cases, which has been shown effective vs Chicken Pox.

Our daughter also had a fever that almost got to 40 degrees C so we used the Egg White remedy(from EC) in some old socks covered with a bag, which got her temp down by .6 degrees in 10 minutes. I have to say I was dubious about it but she was down 1 degree in one hour and was normal in the morning. Do not leave the Egg Whites on for more than a couple of hours, let the feet dry out first and then re-apply.

Thanks Again to EC.
