In mid summer, a good friend of mine referred me to ACV. He had been having serious health problems concerning lyme disease and Shingles, which are now completely cured by nutrints. Anyways, to my point...we are conditioned not to believe that a $3.50 bottle of liquid can resolve nearly all of your health problems, but its true. I have seen serious self-improvement both physically and mentally here.

I have struggled with a cognitive condition named aspergers syndrome throughout my life. For right now, all you need to know about this condition is that there are many ADHD and OCD symptoms associated with it. For the past three years of my life, I had been actively pursuing a pharmeceutical solution to my problems. However, I could not find anything that did not lead to serious problems with anxiety and depression. Apple cider vinegar seemed to solve many of my issues. I can now pay attention in class or sit in the library reading for durations as long as four hours. At first i wasn't sure why, now I think that its the vinegar. These issues have not completely gone away, nor ever will they, but they are now much more manageable.

I originally followed my friend's advice on taking vinegar because i was told that it led to weight loss. This is also true. For the past 2 months or so, i haven't been able to keep up with a near-daily exercise routine that I used to be on the very top of. Normally i'd gain weight like nuts but if anything, i've lost...my appetite seems to be smaller in a positive way on days that I drink the vinegar. Family and friends have also comented that my 'baby face' has gone away since I started taking it.

At any rate, ever since I started taking hte vinegar, I have felt much healthier, happier, more stable, and more confident in both appearance and personality. I strongly reccommend this stuff. Its totally worth the somewhat unpleasant taste a few times a day!

Finally after 55 yrs, I realized I had asperger syndrome after seeing a program on TV about it. I suspected mercury poisoning (identical symptoms) so I had all my "silver" mercury dental fillings removed. MUCH relief was obtained doing this. I could not believe the difference! Then I used Olive Leaf Extract capsules to remove the candida yeast and zeolite powder to detox my system of any remaining heavy metals. WHAT a difference! I punted major fear and depression with this stuff!

My partner has aspergers and he is far too trusting with people. He always looks for ways to help them, always practical, never emotional, and I have heard and seen people lie to him and mess him around and felt so sorry for him.

He was never officially diagnosed with it and is aged sixty now. He is a very capable person, well educated, knowledgeable, intelligent, resourceful, successful in business and with money etc. He helps a lot of people with mental and emotional problems and has a very good life.

Naive people tell me I should tell him that I realise he has aspergers but it would only lead to pain and resentment with him feeling criticised and unable to trust me as realy loving him. He would not want to believe what I tell him and would shoot the messenger and then things would never be the same between us, it could end the relationship altogether. It would only lead to negative changes no good ones.

His brother is very similar, I would say far worse though. He also has a great job, great life and is very capable.

Unfortunately people assume that those with aspergers are somehow just flawed and incapable and need help. Yet my hubby and his brother are far more capable than most who would judge him and say they want to help him.

But I see good things in his aspergers. He is honest, he can be very kind and caring - so long as it is in practical ways, he is reliable, he does not have a nasty bone in his body, he is far more trustworthy than most people I meet. Which is why I love him.

Hi Carmel, I know I'm responding 9 years late, but, God just downloaded into my heart ASD for my 60 y/o husband. After 27+ years of a difficult and confusing marriage, THIS knowledge has imparted heaps of compassion and understanding. Something that I never EVER would have figured out on my own. 3 decades of issues just melted away. As I imparted my newfound suspicion/knowledge to my counselor we both wept. I will not inflict this label on him to add to the stress of his work (he's successful and hard working). It's still not easy but I can now love him better now for who he is without getting angry as much. Bless you!

Bach Flower remedies for Aspergers Syndrome

For my daughter I used the following which seemed to help to some extent:

Bach remedies - I would pinpoint a problem and then would use the particular Bach remedy for it until I feel the problem has lessened. For example - Walnut Bach flower remedy to enable smooth transitions. I would keep a log of what remedies I used from time to time and I did use many of the remedies over the years on her and on myself. You could do your own research on Bach remedies. My only recommendation is to prolong the treatment until the problem (any particular problem) goes away to a considerable extent, even it if takes two to three months (not just for the recommended 2 week duration). very non-invasive.

Apart from these I used:

Tapping or Emotional Freedom technique- EFT to deal with emotional problems, Essiac tea ( for about one to 1.5 years)- to heal the gut and eczema (for the eczema it worked like magic), Gluten free casein free diet (couldn't do it for long as it was hard keeping it up in a non gluten free casein free household) and Vitamin C. And just talking with each other (A mom version of talk therapy).

We also tried homeopathy which helped clear out some problems (surely a venue that can be explored).

I also used a lot of coriander/cilantro in my cooking (don't know if that helped clear any heavy metals). ACV during cold and flu times.

The symptoms do get more manageable with age. Now she is a well capable adult by God's grace. Now if you ask me I would have liked to try Apple cider vinegar, Baking soda in water (Ted's recommendation for alkalinity), Acidophilus/probiotic on a regular basis. Back then I did not think of it. My advice to parents is to please bear in mind to not let the childhood be lost while running after treatments, therapies etc.

Gluten free Casein free diet

EC: Please be sure to test and compare the Bach flower remedy brands - Healing Herbs with the Nelson Bach brand (which is the brand sold in most pharmacies and health food stores). The HH Bach Flower remedies are our favorite, hands down. We tested them about 15 years ago. Difficult to find Healing Herbs in the USA, easier in the UK.

FES Flowers is the main online distributor of Healing Herbs flower remedies in the USA and it's very difficult to find the HH brand on their website. Just took a few minutes to find this link! http://store.fesflowers.com/flower-essences/healingherbs-flower-essences.html

I noticed your post about your daughter with AS [Asperger's Syndrome]. I also have this condition. What most people (doctors as well as the public) don't know or understand or whatever other catagory you want to put it in is that AS is a condition of extremes. I have seen it writen and even you mentioned that aspies have no empathy. It should be that some or maybe even most show no empathy but not all. I am one of those like your daughter, I can be very empathetic to people even complete strangers. But my father, brother and other family members who are aspies are what is thought of as the typical aspie. I also have hyper senory issues where most if not all of my "family aspies" are the opposite, having hypo sensory issues. AS is not a set in concrete kind of condition and I think that is why so many of the so called experts are having trouble defining it or having a "recognized and peer approved" list of symptoms or ailments that define the condition. This condition is like trying to pin jello to the wall. Each individual is unique and when you are dealing with personalities and something that is non-physical you can't treat everyone the same like you can for something that is physical like a broken bone. What you have to teach your daughter is that not all people's motives are pure and they will take advantage of her kind sweet nature, this is something aspies have trouble with. It has taken me years to understand that most people don't want to be your friend or will take the time to understand your AS. My mom has been a great help to me in accepting myself and not letting the outside world have such a big affect on me.

My daughter has Aspergers Syndrome, a form of autism. I gave her two "00" capsules of bentonite clay every day. She was 17 at the time. In less than a month, she had no more tactile issues (could not STAND the sensation of light touches among other tactile issues) AND had spontaneous empathy for strangers!!!! Something that does not happen with any form of autism that I know of!

The only caution is because she is a menstrating female, if she gets too much bentonite clay, she will occasionally go anemic. Iron, despite being needed by the body, is still a heavy metal. So we cut back when that happens. Now she only takes is maybe twice a week and we have not been having problems with anemia.

I am mother of a 17 y.o. boy iin the Autistic spectrum (mild) with a childhood filled with tantrums, Opposition Defiance behaviour, occasional serious emotional bursts, having been diagnosed when he was 4.

We had no success with drugs like Risperidone ou Carbamazepine, that proved much worse, going from sleepiness, dizziness to damming the symptoms into unpredictable explosions of anger and despair.

Taking into account that he was very sensitive to cocoa and chocolate (and avoiding these foods brought a great relief), I began studying more deeply what could act like an " antidote" for the bad effects of chocolate so he could maybe someday consume it without all the bad cummulative effect it had.

Reading about many reports and studies from various sources, relating Theobromine, other amines and their effect on my child´s behaviour, at some point I reached the conclusion that those antipsicotic drugs, being MAOI (monoamine oxidase inhibitors) were doing the opposite to what was needed. That the mood bursts and tantrums could not be derived from a lack of anines and serotonines, but from the excess instead. Adding some particularities in the amines and serotonin metabolism in ASD individuals, we have adopted MSM as a mean to favour the equilibrium of monoamino oxidases versus a possible excess of amines.

Along with other suplements, a dose of approx. 1,5 mg /day has been showing fair results for more than two years now. I take it also, for my knee pain (sensibly reduced). I will keep on studying MSM, observing possible after effects and will thank you very much if you will like to share your experiences with me about MSM and ASD.

Hi Vanessa, Google Dr. Mark Hyman and he has quite a bit of video online talking about the connection of diet and autism, ADD, etc. He has a book of his own but you can learn quite a bit from just listening to him online. He tells his own story but also cases of where he has turned people around who have these "diseases" just through nutrition, diet, and body chemistry. It's very good work and I believe this holds a lot of keys that the medical profession does not give credibility to so you must do your own work in this area. I do wish you the very best and will be interested if you check into this and if it gives you any "keys". Lisa

You might want to try chorella. I sneak it into my daughter smoothes as much as I think I can get away with. It helps detoxify against heavy metals like mercury and is the number one selling supplement in japan if that tells u anything. My daughter was given the H1N1 vaccine against my will by my ex who has medical custody and didn't even tell me. I had to ask her if she had after my daughter was sick for almost a month straight. The sickness correlating to almost to the day she was given this vaccine from this constructed virus. She would not get better at all until I gave her this raw food cure developed by David Wolfe for cold and flus. It consisted of blended oranges, papaya and figs. Before any of her vaccines she had this glow about her in which she would seem to glow especially when she would smile. Even after pointing this out to my ex she foolishly gave her another round of vaccinations. About a year later all this professionals in counseling and occupational therapy start telling us she seems to be exhibiting asberger symptoms.

Hello, Vanessa,

My son (14 years old) takes, with very good results, along with magnesium and many other vitamins, Ayurveda´s very well known: Brahmi (Bacopa monnieri) and Ashwagandha (Withania somnifera). Also Kava-Kava (Piper methysticum) whenever he feels more agitated.

By now he must avoid eating chocolate at all costs, it triggers a very typical sequence of agitation and irritability, so we intend to test phenol enzymes and Epsom salts as possible aids.

My suggestion for you is to study some of Ayurveda´s herbs that may act in unison with the other supplemments. Take a look at online for many details regarding those supplemments and substances.

I wish you all the best!

I haven't tried mixing any of that in. However, I take fish oil twice a day, which also seems to be useful. Have you tried using honey, baking soda, or anything else that you have deemed as effective?

I started taking apple cider vinegar for allergy reasons. I mix it with equal parts local honey(for seasonal allergies). It helps me feel better. My body has decided to become allergic or intolerant to different foods. Gluten, casein and eggs. The apple cider vinegar seems to lessen the inflamation in my body. Try mixing with honey... Tastes WAY better:)

How do you take the ACV? I didn't know about the testosterone. Spearment tea blocks the adrogens in your body for to much dark facial hair.

Don't use the magnesium, it doesn't seem to be working well. I've been less focused, which may be a coincidence but that surely means it isn't helping the situation. Also it leads to a lot of gas and time on the toilet. Not worth it...

Hi Vanessa,

You might want to add 1000 mg of calcium a day and about 400 mg of vitamin c

Also I would highly reccomend reading the book "Healing the New Childhood Epidemics - Autism, ADHD, Asthma, and Allergies" By Dr. Kenneth Bock, MD

I believe my son has Asbergers or something on the Autism Spectrum. I am awaiting his evaluation. However this book was rreccomended to me by a group of parents with autistic children, some of whom have been entirely cured using the healing program in this book. You may also want to investigate a casein/gluten free diet. I will hold you in the light as you follow your path to healing.

Warmly,
Robin

Apple cider vinegar works for so many symptoms including Aspergers because it regulates pH in our blood.

After spending some time researching problems related to low pH I also noticed people treating the symptoms using apple cider vinegar.

Vanessa, I agree with the others that have stated a gluten-free/casien-free diet. My best friend's son has Asperger's and there is a HUGE difference when he does get milk products as to when he doesn't. I never was able to convince her to take him off of gluten too, as she felt like she was "punishing" him, but baby steps I guess. So instead of trying to add stuff in to make you feel better, try taking a few things out and see what happens. Good luck!

Thank you so so much for sharing. I have been giving my son A.C.V. with cinnaomon, honey, & lemon (mixed in a cup of warm water) for his "seasonal" allergies. The claritin the Dr has prescribed for years never seems to totally get rid of "the snots" as he calls it. I'm not sure if you can relate BC I know every Aspie is just as unique as every person but he has a sensitive gut & I was hoping it would help boost his immune system as well. I have searched the internet trying to find anything on the subject but their is absolutely no research or personal testimony on the subject of A.C.V & any of the autism spectrum branches. I've been so nervous it was too much for his gut but maybe you can share some insight on how you felt when you first started taking it? If you don't mind the personal level of my question I'd appreciate any input you have but I totally understand if you are not comfortable sharing. He seems to like it but I notice his stomach gets upset after he's had it but I am wondering if it's just BC he needs time to clean the junk & mellow out once it's in the maintenance stage. Thanks again for your input sorry my comment is a grammatical & punctuation mess I was just so excited to see this!

Hello all,
I am a nineteen year old who was diagnosed with a mild case of aspergers syndrome at a young age. As of now, I am trying to figure out ways to cure it, particuarly the associated ADHD and OCD symptoms. The inability to sustain attention and fidgitiness are the main aspects that I feel throw off my life. I take the following supplements, some for aspergers other for physical appearance:

-Cinnamon
-Fish Oil
-Apple Cider Vinegar
-Hair, skin, and nails formula
-I just started Magnesium Zinc

After reading all of these articles, i'm thinking about throwing more in, maybe Vitamin C and/or flaxseed oil? But I don't want to be takingso many supplements at once as to throw my body off. Any recommendations as to what would be ideal for me?

Oh, and to help out anyone else in my situation, ACV and Fish oil really help. Magnesium seems to as well but I can't guarantee anything since I just started taking it. ^_^

Hi Carmel,

I've come across your post. I've been doing a lot of research online because I have recently realised that my husband is on the spectrum. Your description of your husband resembles mine to a T. Your lovely, compassionate post has given me hope that I can find the patience (and compassion) to deal with my husband's eccentricities. Could I private message you? Take this as a cry for help...

EC: Hi Olga,

So sorry, Earth Clinic does not provide private messaging. We are very concerned with everyone's privacy and safety and decided long ago not to provide PM.

Oh, I do so miss that glow my son used to have. People sort of lit up when he smiled at them.

As for the Apple Cider Vinegar: would that be capsule, liquid or another form? By coincidence, I recently bought the liquid form and then didn't really know what to do with it.
