My gastritis is the result of ingesting (unknowingly) foods that contain soy and canola oils. They are GMO and highly sprayed with RoundUP. Glyphosate the toxic ingredient in it can cause the stomach to literally paralyze and inflame. I can get headaches sometimes too with it or nausea, constipation too. It can last for weeks but I have learned to mitigate it. I personally eat an organic diet and my own cooking I never have a problem. Processed food (I'm talking mayo here or salad dressings) or eating out is a minefield for me.
Oxalates might provoke lung inflammation.
Chocolate, tomatoes and green beans are high in oxalates. Maybe you should look into oxalates?? Just a suggestion.
It must depend on the person. Steamed cabbage put me in the hospital with aspirated pneumonia. I have some kind of silent gerd and never know what foods I am going to react to. I know to stay away from chocolate and tomatoes for sure. A month ago I had a flare up with fresh steamed green beans. It is a mystery and at least 25 doctors and 5 functional doctors can't figure it out. I am wheezing right now and sinuses are inflamed. Some things like celery and ac/bs give me some relief but no cure.
Doesn't the cabbage cause problems with gas and digestion? I am afraid to try cabbage because of that. I can't even digest a banana.
What helped me to combat IBS and gastritis:
- Small meals in the evening
- Avoiding dairy and too much salt
- Avoiding coffee and wheat
- Taking enteric coated peppermint oil capsules
- Taking paracetamol
- Drinking green tea
- Also - place two cardamom pods in a mug and add boiling water. Allow to steep for five minutes. Add honey. Sip the water and slowly chew on the cardamom pods.
- Add honey to beverages
- Eat cabbage
- Reduce stress
I noticed my symptoms reduce significantly within a week.
I have had severe gastritis for decades and had found no relief until I read online about parsley tea. Drinking parsley tea has been nothing short of miraculous for me. I drink about 6 oz. of the tea first thing in the AM on an empty stomach. On bad days I sometimes add a 2nd and 3rd glass later in the morning and in the early afternoon. The pain just melts away over about an hour or less. For me, the cause for my gastritis was from an inflamed gallbladder, which was brought on by dairy intolerance. I eliminated the dairy and slowly over about a month, my gallbladder calmed down. This, however, had no effect on years of stomach damage, but the parsley tea brought me amazing relief from the burning pain in my stomach. I would never have believed parsley could do all this if I had not experienced it myself.
You make the tea by cutting or tearing up a bunch of parsley. (Like the bunch you buy in the grocery store.) Boil the greens for 5 minutes in two quarts of water, turn off the heat and then let the tea steep for two hours. All done! It's actually very easy to make! I store mine in (2) 32 oz. glass mason jars in the refrigerator. I hope this brings any sufferers great relief like it did for me!
I have been getting very good results taking Manuka honey for gastritis (inflammation of the stomach lining). I take it twice a day... Once before bed and again in the morning. Taking it with a piece of bread slows down absorption and keeps it in the stomach longer.
Garlic has been an awesome remedy for me when I'm getting an episode.
Aloe, Turmeric, Ginger, Lemon, Pepper
Aloevera gel, turmeric, ginger.lemon, black pepper, honey. Helped me with gastritis and hpylori. All ingredients must be prepared the same day and drink it right after preparation.
Recipe as follows:
about a quarter of a fresh aloe vera leaf gel to prepare about 1/2 cup of all the ingredients together, 1 small teaspoon of turmeric, teaspoon of ginger juice or powder, 1 teaspoon honey, a pinch of black pepper, 1 squeezed lemon juice then mixed them with a fork for 2 minutes and ready to drink it, preferably in the morning before breakfast.
