Oatmeal Tea Bag

The oatmeal bath for relief from chickenpox is a wonderful solution. I am 69 with osteoporosis and back issues so climbing in and out of the tub is quite challenging for me. So what I did was take oatmeal and put it into a Tea filter bag. They are bags that you can buy at the grocery store or health food store if you wanted to brew your own fresh herbal tea. They are basically empty teabags. I took the raw oatmeal, stuffed it in there, folded the top down and put staples all across it so it could not leak out. Put it in a cup of hot water and let it sit for a few minutes. Then took the bag out and squeeze some of the moisture out and applied the bag onto my chickenpox area. It feels a little slimy from the oatmeal, but it coats the area and it has the same effect as soaking in an oatmeal bath . I literally reapplied it every time it would start itching. Just take the little slimy teabag and rub it on the areas and you'll get instant relief. I kept mine in a ceramic cup and use it throughout the day. It helped tremendously with the itching. I did read that the calamine lotion will help dry them up and bring them to a head quicker. So maybe use the teabag every other time to the calamine to speed up the process and get relief.
