For Blackstrap Molasses that gets you the most punch as a "super food" notice that there are different kinds of BSM. The "thick" kind that has the most nutrients is what I'm after for medicinal purposes. What I normally find at the health food stores over the years is called "Plantation" and I'm sure other good brands are available. But don't confuse that type of BSM with the lighter more refined kind that you'd typically use for deserts.

Have you tried Trader Joes? I found it at Walmart in next to maple syrup. Also, try Whole Foods, if you haven't already found it.

I've been reading a lot about Blackstrap Molasses on this website. And I hear about how it is rich in Copper, Magnesium and Iron in addition to Vit B. However so far all the brands of BSM that I've researched do not list copper or vit B in their nutrition label. And so far I've looked at Wholesome organic BSM, Plantation, House of Herbs, Brer Rabbit and the list goes on.

do you mean to say that BSM is the same as roo? meaning if you drink a glass of roo juice everyday it would give same effect??

because the BSM I see on different websites is thick and dark in colour, whereas roo is more liquid and not that dark...?

Hi! I have read these thread about molasses and Apple Cider Vinegar as natural ailment for chocolate cyst.

I have ovarian cyst in my left ovary and half of it was removed last feb2011, and my OB told me that my right is also cystic so she injected me 11 sessions of DEPO that was march2011- january 2012 ( every month) she said to stop my mentruation and control my hormone. I got my ultrasound every 3 months. And after my last session that was January my cyst was cleared and I had my period after three months.

I can feel that I have my cyst in both of my ovaries again because I can feel the signs now. I saw it in the section with the honeys and syrups at their location near me, which was at next to Panera at Preston and Forest, in Dallas. I didn't catch the price exactly but remember being less than I paid online (but a smaller bottle).

I can't tell you where you can find it in Belgium as I never looked for it there but in Holland it is easy to find in the reform winkels like De Tuinen, Het Kruidvat and others. I get mine at Trader Joe's or Whole Foods. Also, if your local grocery stores have an organic or 'natural' section (which all of them do here on the East coast), you could probably find it there as well.

I bought BSM from Choithram "Grandma's Molasses" but its not unsulphured I guess. Still searching for the unsulphured one and will update when I get a hold of the organic unsulphured BSM.

If sugar cane is used to make sugar there, then you can find it, but it may go by another name. It is the third boiling of the cane juice, and the left over after the sugar is made, that is why it is very concentrated with minerals. Good hunting.
