[YEA]  07/25/2009: Beth from Stl, MO writes: "Tomato Tea Feedback - Been suffering from a second cold within a month. Last cold lasted forever spent the time just trying to feel better with OTC meds. Made it easier to get through the day but didn't really help. So about a week after getting over that cold I have another and am already feeling a lot better thanks to this website. Just found the tomato tea and I scrounged around my kitchen to come up with the best substitutes I could: tomato and basil soup, minced garlic (just threw a bunch in-love garlic!), squeezed fresh lime juice, and as much red curry powder as I can stand. Right away blew my nose and a bunch of junk came out and I CAN breathe finally!! The congestion is also deeper in my chest and my coughs are more productive. I'm sure it will take a while to get it all out of my system..but within a very short time with only the tomato soup I'm feeling so much better than with the decongestants. Thank you sooooo much!!! I am trying other remedies as well.. Love the site!"

But you could easily alternate between ACV and tomato tea too. Taking these two things on a regular basis will keep your body alkaline and ward off future problems!"
11/19/2010: Drew from Kelowna, Bc, Canada replies: "I wanted to add this comment to the thread:

Thank you Jean for posting this recipe, and bless you! I can report a HUGE drop in pain after drinking two of these (using my mother in law's home made tomato juice! ), I am drinking a third right now (day 2)

I made up a very spicy tomato tea w lots of garlic, and also felt really bad (my pain had been at 9/10 for many hours of no sleep, this was day 3 of my infection). Tylenol 3s were not working at all for the pain, and I had just begun my antibiotics so I knew the relief would take a bit to come from that avenue. Along with much prayer from myself and others I found this recipe. After taking the first one I also continued to feel really really bad, but after about 2 hours I actually fell asleep (I had not been able to sleep for some time because of the pain). When I awoke the pain was 60% gone. I continued to take a lighter dose of pain med, made another one and went to sleep for the night. Now just one day later I am on NO pain med and feeling FAR less pain then I was while taking every 4 hours previously. I also have been using other methods such as sinus rinses, hot baths, etc. But I must say I give this method (after the prayer) the nod for what has done this remarkable change in my pain levels! Thank you again! I throw my recommendation on to the pile as an AMAZING remedy for EXTREME sinus pain from infection. Do yourself a favor, if you are suffering from this terrible pain please make this recipe good and strong and drink lots of it. God Bless You All. Best Regards, Drew"

We both have trouble stopping up at night with congestion. Also my sense of smell is coming back!! Would adding ACV be ok to add to the tea and keep the same benifits or should they be used separately?"

[YEA]  07/04/2009: Carole_P. from Gray, La writes: "The Spicy Tomtato Tea worked really well for my awful congestion. Within 20 minutes I felt like I could breathe. I went ahead and took a second cup to help with the congestion that was still higher up. I felt great the next morning! (By the way, I've taken homeopathic and regular meds for my sinus problems, and both only give me a few hours of relief.) I had no problems for an entire day! That night, I started to feel stuffed up again. So, I used what I had to make a tea as close to it as I could get and it worked unbelievably!!! I just took a deep breath through my nose as I was typing this just to feel how well it worked. :-) I hope you all have the same success that I'm experiencing with this.
Here's what I used on night two:

Juice from one can of ___ tomatoes & chile peppers (save the tomatoes for some yummy salsa)
3/4 c vegetable juice
1 tbsp minced garlic
The juice from one lemon
Add boiling water to get desire consistency and temperature.

ENJOY!!!"

[YEA]  06/26/2009: Philip from Dearing, GA writes: "The Tomato Tea receipe from Jean in Franklin,WI is truely amazing. For about the last 10 years around February, my wife will get a very nasty respiratory infection. The medical doctors always diagnose her with sinusitis and bronchitis every year. She gets nagging dry coughs that keep her up all night and sound forceful enough to blow out a lung. They always give her antibiotics, cough supressants, and decongestion medications. It takes weeks for these medicines to work and sometimes she never gets completely over it for about a month. So this February when she got sick again,I immediately started her on Jeans Tomato Tea. This cold really jumps all over her almost overnight and she was so congested she could not smell or taste the garlic for the first 24 hours or so. After sipping the Tomatoe Tea for about 5 days, she was completely clear and free and for the first time in ten years. She DID NOT go to a doctor nor did she have to take any pharmaceutical medications."

[YEA]  06/16/2009: Lucy from Glendale Heights, Illinois writes: "Tomato Tea Cured My Sinus Congestion... I'd been suffering from the worse case of the flu I've had in years. I was going on my fifth day of suffering, and I could already tell my sinuses were starting to block up and were getting infected. As I couldn't miss any more work, I decided to look up a sinus remedy on this wonderful site and found Tomato Tea. I'd already been eating whole cloves of garlic and lots of tea with lemon and honey to get me through the sickness, but I knew it was gonna take something more to knock out this infection (not to mention the sinus pressure was becoming so debilitating, I needed something that would work fast!!). I sent my husband to pick up the ingredients from the store and set straight to work on this little concoction as soon as I arrived home from work (and what a miserable day it was). I used the following ingredients and measurements:

2 cups Tomato Juice
1/2 squeezed lemon
3-4 shredded cloves of garlic (I used a cheese shredder, which worked great)
As much Louisiana Hot Sauce as I could handle (about 5-6 shakes straight from the bottle)
A few shakes of Cayenne Pepper for good measure
A dash of Celery Salt

After two large cups of the tea over a 3 hour period, I was already feeling the sinus pressure ease. My stomach was feeling a little uneasy (not really upset) when I went to bed at around 10:00 pm, but I figured it was from eating dinner and having so much tea in a short period of time.

I woke up at 2:30 am and realized I was breathing through both nostrils and my throat wasn't nearly as sore or dry as it had been in my last 5 nights of restless sleep. Feeling actually good and rested, I'm now up drinking another cup of this wonderful tea and writing to earthclinic about it! It hasn't even been 24 hours, but I'm already feeling so much better! Thank you so much for this wonderful cure!"

I feel soothed enough to sleep. It tastes good enough to add vodka too and drink regularly! lol. I added oregano to it for it's known benefits as well, and it really boosted the taste too. My chest congestion is still there, but I am able to cough it up a lot better. Thank you."

[BETTER BUT WITH SIDE EFFECTS]  03/10/2009: Nancy from Binghamton, New York, USA writes: "Tomato Tea Caution (Gallstones): I tried the tomato tea, using the exact recipe as posted by Jean. It tasted better than I expected, and it is working pretty well on my sinuses. I drank one serving 2 days ago, and have been getting rid of mucous steadily since then. However, I also have (pretty sure, US test coming in 3 days) gallstones. I believe the tomato tea triggered a nasty gallstone attack, since about an hour after I drank it, the pain started, and the burning when I vomited was horrible, throat felt like it was on fire. Could that have happened from the ingredients in the tea? I hope not, because I would love to drink it again for the sinus congestion, it is working for me even better than sea salt flush or ACV! Any advice would be appreciated. I have not posted before, but I have been recently diagnosed with some health issues, and I always come here first. I don't want drugs or surgery, and most important health issue is, I am obese, and trying my best to solve that first. I LOVE EC!"

03/11/2009: Nicole from Geneva, Switzerland replies: "Nancy Hi. with regards to gallstone problems my grandmother cured her problem (instead of going to surgery to take the stones out) by dinking lots of parsley tea. Just take two bunches of fresh parsley and boil then drink as a tea during the whole day. I prefer to put some lemon just for the taste. DRINK LOTS OF LIQUIDS....! For people with gallstone problems you should drink a MINIMUM of 2 litres of water and teas. Hope this helps."
09/27/2009: Jeannie from Franklin, Wi replies: "Every once in a while I come in here to read the feedback as it feels really good to know I've helped people. As I've read through them, I've noticed a few things that seem to be related to the tomato drink not working:

1. Polyps: Of course, if you have a physical blockage, that needs to be removed.
2. OTC & prescribed drugs: MANY people state that these help temporarily and then the problem gets even worse... that's a given. If you take them at the same time you're doing the tea, perhaps you're counter-acting what the tea is doing. Quit the drugs.
3. Sinus problems often seem to be related to eating sugars, ice cream, cookies, whatever.
4. Not everyone will react in the same way. GIVE IT TIME if it doesn't work right away. Most people have very quick relief, others it takes days.
5. It WILL kill the virus/germ... you don't need antibiotics. I know this from personal experience, and many people have said the same. This worked where antibiotics did not."
09/28/2009: Bee from Mo, Usa replies: "I have to say from my experience I found that the OTC drugs did make it worse. I felt better in the short-term, but it took longer to get over the cold. Anything that seems to block the discharge of congestion (pseudoephedrine, etc) when I took that it lasted longer. I am sticking with natural supplements and tomato tea and letting it CLEAR out the mucous/infection and it helps a lot when you stick it out!! Be patient and you will feel better! :)"

1 Can Cambell's Tomato Soup (Follow instructions on the baxk of can)
1 Clove Garlic-chopped
1-2 Tsp Tabasco (more or less; it tends to be less spicy than other hot sauces)
1-2 Tsp Lemon juice (I eye-balled it)

For Taste Garlic Salt (You could use any other flavored salt, but I find this one works better)"

[YEA]  01/04/2009: Carol from Delray Beach, FL writes: "Tomato Tea is Fantastic!!!

I was desparate with a cold to find a cure. I decided to try the Tomato Tea (although I prefer to call it Tomato Soup). I took one cup in the morning and one cup at night and within three days the cold was gone. I went to visit my daughter in Okeechobee. She works in the radiology department of a local hospital. She had a terrible cold and was treating it with otc drugs, to no avail. I made up a 'tea' for her in the evening when she got home. We couldn't find the hot sauce so we used cayenne pepper (as much as she could stand). She took the tea before bed for two nights - and was cold-free by the time she awoke on the third day. This is fantastic! Thank you so much! By the way, my daughter told everyone at the hospital about this remedy."

I tried the tea and felt immediately better! I also added 2 Tablespoons honey, one-quarter teaspoon onion powder, one-half teaspoon of a combination of herbs: (rosemary, thyme, sage, marjoram, black pepper and nutmeg = poultry seasoning) to tomato juice - the V8 costs twice as much! - and my persistent sinus headache (which was making my upper jawbone throb)went away. Thanks again! This is an awesome and beneficial website."

So, I checked out the website for your cold remedies and saw the "hot soup." I drank it 3 times in one day. I put in as much garlic and hot sauce as I could because I know how good that is for the body. Besides, I couldn't taste it. Well, it didn't clear up my passages all that well. That only lasted a few minutes. BUT! I went to bed, slept like a BABY and woke up and the cold was GONE! Another friend of mine has had a cold for 3 weeks and here, mine only lasted one day! I was amazed! Thank you so much!"
