[YEA] 07/05/2014: Judith from Indiana, Usa: "Pepto-Bismol for Stomach Ulcers: Pink bismuth is sold to calm stomach in the US. It also kills the h plyori."
[YEA] 05/23/2010: Lisa from Boise, Id, Usa: "Pine Nut Oil for stomach ulcer! My daughter had been suffering for almost a year from horrible pain and the nausea that accompanies a peptic ulcer. Due to food allergies, her already restricted diet dwindled even more, and from the combination of almost constant pain, hunger and weariness she found herself spiraling into depression. She tried Mastic Gum and ACV for several weeks and got some relief. She also tried colliodial silver and slippery elm for several weeks with limited relief. Then I found out about the oil. One teaspoon three times a day (not diluted is best) and within a few days she felt better. Less than two weeks later she's pain free and eating foods she hasn't enjoyed in ages! I am posting this because I hope this can help someone else with the same problem. We were at the end of our ropes and after trying so many other therapies, drinking a little oil seemed no stranger than the others. However, this really worked for us!"Replies

[YEA] 07/20/2008: Mykey from Grover Beach, California: "I have collected a number of suggestions, and the one that worked best was potato broth. After eating this once a day I experienced more relief than from any medication such as prilosec or nexium. Three cups water, two medium potatoes, one ounce spinach, half a chopped onion, couple teaspoons of Knorr potato leak soup mix, chopped clove of garlic. cook until the onion is soft, and mash it down into a soup. You will be amazed how well this works for ulcer pain, reflux, and stomach problems in general.
One other thing to mention is ginger. This is a natural anti inflammatory, which is quite effective in revealing nausea from an ulcer or stomach condition. "Ginger People" makes some little ginger chews (made in Indonesia). I have been sucking on 1-2 per day, what a relief!"
[YEA] 05/09/2009: Nonni from Cleveland, OH: "My friend's husband was suffering from ulcers and I read that eating raw honey would cure even the worst case of ulcers. The book I have does not tell you how to take the honey, but I believe my friend's husband just ate it straight off the spoon and it did cure him. This same book mentioned that cabbage juice was good for ulcers also, saying you had to drink a quart a day."
11/28/2011: Babybsmummy from Plymouth, Devon, Uk: "Hi, I'm desperately trawling the Internet for some advice about healing and coping with stomach ulcers. Any help would be appreciated as it's the most awful thing I've ever experienced.
11 weeks ago I gave birth to my beautiful baby girl, the beginning of labour went very well, however the end was quite traumatic and long story short I ended up having to haves blood transfusion, a week of intravenous antibiotics followed by 4 x daily doses of diclofenic and ibrufen for a course of about three weeks. Having become a mum for the first time and focusing all my efforts on my beautiful girl I didn't research the use of these painkillers, basically trusting the health care providers advice and guidance.
Anyway about six weeks ago I began experiencing severe intermittent stomach pains, shortness of breath, severe indigestion and am convinced mild panic attacks as well which a locum gp, following consultation and review of medical notes and prescriptions informed me I have all the signs of a stomach ulcer. He prescribed ormprazole 20mg x twice daily for two weeks followed by 20mg x once daily for two weeks then to go back regardless of symptoms. I have still had an attack about 3 times a week since beginning takung the meds and have now dropped to the lowered dosage and basically experience the symptoms every day! I am really struggling with this now and what with being a busy new mum am finding it extremely draining and exhausting. I don't want to be reliant on such medication, have read that this can sometimes become the case, and so am desperate for some advice and guidance on how to return to being healthy and fit again!!!
My diet is pretty plain, as I'm terrified to eat anything that may bring on an attacks and my partner works nights so we eat our main meal at about 4pm (he's so worried about leaving me incase I am unwell in the night - he's intent in taking me to casualty each time it happens :0( )
Really sorry about the long post but I wanted to give you as much info as I could, I am willing to try anything that will help!!! Thank you so much for taking the time to read this essay!!!"Replies
11/28/2011: Debbie from Melbourne, Australia replies: "One thing you should definitely do is to take probiotics, especially if you are breast feeding. The antibiotics will cause the good bacteria in your gut to die and you will have a yeast problem. The probiotics put back the good bacteria into your gut."
03/16/2012: Kristina from Sheridan, Montana replies: "Babysmum, have you got rid of your problem? I have been struggling with an ulcer symptoms and wondered if you found a remedy which you could share."
01/21/2011: Marla from Montreal, Quebec, Canada: "Hi Ted;I think your website is the best that exists. My problem is rather serious. I have a fingertip ulcer that won't grow new skin. I am currently on an iv med 24/7 with a nurse coming everyday to my home to infuse. This may take months if it will work The circulation and capillaries are narrow and slow. I have research everywhere and do the usual basics for example; i juice everyday green veggies and beets Eat rather healthy Vitamins a c d e zinc, magnesium, trace minerals, Apple Cider Vinegar, b12. I have done many soaks to no avail.
Remember it is not infected. It just opened up 2 months ago about 1/2inch by 1/2 in diameter. Any advice would be very helpful. As well hoping to prevent future problems with my fingers because the pain is excruciating. I was hospitalized for 3 weeks and just returned home. Thanking you in advance. Ted Ps I would also pay for telephone consult with you at your conveneince. Sincerely Marla"
01/21/2011: Deb from Melbourne, Australia: "Hi Maria
Raw honey is used to heal diabetic ulcers on legs with great results so would probably help you. You can research this. Honey is a natural antibiotic so it also kills infections.
"Following treatment with honey, dead tissue was quickly replaced with healthy tissue. In some cases, diabetic ulcers were successfully treated with honey and skin grafts, thus preventing amputation. Apparently, the antibacterial properties of honey allow it to work on wounds and skin ulcers in the same manner it works on burns.
* The honey used must be raw unprocessed honey and it must state somewhere on the label that it is "unheated".
[YEA] 07/27/2014: Anna from New York: "Seabuckthorn oil is 100% effective for stomach ulcers. Make sure it is a real one, not processed in a capsule form. I know a person who was scheduled for a surgery to repair an ulcer and by pure chance was given this oil and in 3 days she had to cancel the surgery. Other comments I received-I am a god sent savior. A person in the UK was so impressed that she planted it in her yard. Works for colitis as well."

[YEA] 05/28/2014: Analogal from California: "I have an ulcer (non h.pylori) that developed after I had taken NSAIDS. I tried everything to get rid of it. Some things I tried did not work at all, while others did work, but interfered with the effectiveness of my other supplements. I was at the end of my rope, and then an extremely happy accident occurred! I wanted to find a healthy snack as I had changed my diet some time ago. So, I thought I would try sunflower seeds. I would eat them every night (about 2 handfuls hulled) on an empty stomach before bed time. The next morning I noticed that my ulcer did not hurt as much. So, I did some research on the Internet, and found the answer. It turns out that sunflower seeds have amino acids, minerals, and other components that heal damaged tissue anywhere in the body! As each day went by, my ulcer began to get better and better. It's amazing how I searched and searched, but found a cure purely by accident. Now, that's not to say that it won't act up again if I eat a bowel of chili or something. But, if I stick to a bland diet for a few weeks and eat the seeds every night, then I'm good as new!"
[YEA] 07/24/2007: Tetei from Singapore, Singapore: "I was born with chronic stomach ulcer. I consulted many doctors but no doctors could cure me. There were even times I thought I was dying due to the pain. But, one fine day, a friend of mine from India told me that turmeric power is a great medicine. So, I put one spoon of turmeric power in a glass of water. After two days all my severe pain had disappeared. It was a miracle! The best time to take is early morning while your stomach is still empty and in the evening before dinner. It works best while your stomach is empty. But, at the same time it is very important to control our diets. Do not take butter, any sweet stuff, coffee, tea, cold drinks, hot chili, excess oil and drink lots of water every day (at least 2 and a half litre daily). Eat on time, do not eat between meals, and do not drink hot or warm water; hot or warm water worsen the gas in the stomach. Turmeric is the best and cheapest medicine for stomach problems. Besides, I also use the paste for any skin problems, pimples, boils, minor cut; they really work well. I don't go to doctors for every little thing because I know that I can save a lot of money by simply using turmeric powder at home. Lastly, by drinking turmeric powder regularly, you will have a very clear beautiful complexion."Replies
06/26/2010: Wunder from Topanga, Ca replies: "I'm having terrible stomach pains due to acid reflux. I'm seriously contemplating adding every ingredient discussed here on the ulcer page:
Apple Cider Vinegar
Pine nut oil
And making fruit smoothies with yogurt. Would mixing all of this together create any ill effects? Or lessen the effectiveness?"
07/10/2010: Johnny from Copenhagen, Denmark replies: "To the one wanting to mix all the ingredients. . . Try it and tell us about it :) I doubt it could be any more dangerous for than taking pharmaceuticals, since the ingredients of the mix you want to make are all-natural :)"
04/06/2011: Dan from Paonia, Colorado replies: "Great site... I've just been diagnosed with h. Pylori, a bacterial infection of the digestive system, currently with upper stomach pain and severe hives. I will try some of the suggestions posted here and report back, it's april 6, 2011..... Something else I read if you have ulcers stay away from taking enzymes, it aids h. pylori development...."
[BETTER BUT NOT CURED] 08/24/2011: Hef from Toronto, Ontario, Canada replies: "Hi Guys,
Last month I have been diagnosed with H pylori infection with a high antigen reading per my blood work. I was suspecting ulcer for a couple of years as my digestion and bowel movements changed signifcantly however it was not until I pushed my physician to get me tested for H Pylori only then he wrote me a test otherwise he was taking about disturbance in intestinal flora causing these problems. This has lead to worsening of my situation. I havent been through an endoscopy yet therefore I have to assume that I have ulcers in my stomach and intestine.
Every few days my stomach was bloting with Diarrhea. I wouldnt tolerate spicy food at all. I also feel dull pain in my stomach and lower left abdominal, I think it is somewhere in the small intestine. For the last coupel of month my stool color change to green and that panicked me into pushing my physician for other testes.
Anyways, he gave me Triple Therapy (combination of 3 anibiotics) Bismuth Silicylate for Hpylori treatment. I went through the treatment period whichw as very awful. After the treatment was over I felt a general sense of well being for next few weeks. Since last week I am feeling that my upset stomach symptoms are returning again.
For all this time I am also taking some herbal supplements such as Mastic Gum 500MG and Kefir. I am planning to go for a Urea Breath test late september however before I go do the test to confirm if H pylori is gone completely I am planning to take some additinal supplements mentioned here such as ACV, Cayanne, Garlic.
I'll keep posted on how it progresses. Thank you all for taking time to post your experiences here. I would like to suggest that those people who took the remedies and got cured should post there long term expereince as well so that everyone stays connected."
10/09/2011: Elvira from Barrie, Ontario, Canada replies: "I was prescribed enzymes and - payed dearly. As Dan said: STAY AWAY FROM ENZYMES! - As long as you have any damage in your digestive system."
01/04/2012: Lo from Seattle, Wa replies: "To Hef from Toronto, I was wondering how you are doing? What has worked for you? Are your ulcers gone? I hope you are better."
[BETTER BUT NOT CURED] 06/23/2012: Din from Kl, Malaysia replies: "I would like to second the use of turmeric. I tried both turmeric and cabbage juice and the first works better. I take about 50 ml water with a pinch of turmeric powder before go to bed. make sure it's your last sip so you won't dilute it afterwards with water.
I'm not sure if my ulcer is cured, but I definitely feel better."
