Natural Remedies to Cure Stomach Ulcers
A stomach ulcer or peptic ulcer may form in the stomach or duodenum. An ulcer will likely result in pain, usually around meals, and may be accompanied by nausea, vomiting with blood, loss of appetite, bloating, and other symptoms. Most cases are caused by the Helicobacter pylori bacteria.

[YEA] 09/22/2008: Feeling Fine! from Lewes, Delaware: "I had an ulcer and was prescribed Nexium. The side effects were worse then the masked symptoms, so I never finished a full 8-week coarse and battled with the ulcer for 5 months. Finally I went searching for a natural cure, found Earth Clinic and decided to try a combination of things with a twist.
I started drinking Apple Cider Vinegar (2 Tbsp) in about 2 cups of water with a 1/4 tsp. of baking soda. I drank that 3 times a day in the beginning. I also took 500mg of cayenne in a capsule 3 x a day and 500mg of glutamine 3x a day (also in a capsule form). I stopped all prescribed medications and only took an occasional TUM's when I felt I needed some extra relief.
After 1 week I was greatly relieved with only occasional flare ups but nothing that couldn't be helped with the ACV and baking soda. The glutamine is what is the active ingredient in cabbage juice which is also helpful for an ulcer, but it's hard to drink 4 cups of raw cabbage juice a day so I went for the capsules. At three weeks I was 90% there, at 5 weeks 100% better. I also think it is important to cut out all caffeine and alcohol during your healing period.
I hope that those of you suffering find some relief like I did, and thank you to all of the Earth Clinic contributors for sharing your information."

08/05/2009: Bill from Oregon City, Oregon replies: "I have had stomach issues since childhood. Last year I got to where I had acid reflux daily, so bad I could not sleep lying down. Then a few months a go it changed. My food was slow to digest and I felt like I had some sort of virus. I could only eat cereal and yogurt. It got to the point to where I could not eat without getting major cramps. I went to the doctor. After X-rays and blood test (all my test were clean) he prescribed Prilosec and Reglan. I tried them for a week and had some relief, but was not getting better. I was up one night or early morning, searching the net for any information. I found earthclinic and started my ACV and cayenne regiment (I did not have Glutamine at the time). After my first drink I could tell a difference. After 4 days, I was able to eat and sleep better. That weekend I purchased Glutamine and have been doing the ACV and cayenne drink with the glutamine capsule 3 times a day for a week. I feel normal most of the time, eat regular and sleep much better. I intend to stay on the regiment until I have fully recovered and cut back to once a day to stay that way. I have another doctors appointment in a week. From my research I believe I have a bacterial infection or Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth (SIBO). I intend on asking for the breath test to know for sure."
08/10/2009: Ingrid from Geneva, Oh replies: "Will the ACV work for dogs too? I was actually giving her ACV when she got the ulcer and thought that I had caused it by giving her that. I was thinking it was too acidic for her. Now I'm wondering if I should put her back on it."

[YEA] 05/11/2012: Dance from Granada Hills, California: "Aloe Vera Juice is a miracle remedy for stomach ulcers.
I was diagnosed with multiple (3) peptic ulcers which were confirmed by biopsy not to be from H-pylori (they were actually from unripe tropical fruit I had eaten). When the prescribed medication didn't work and gave me side effects after one week I discontinued used and searched, painfully and desperately, for something to relieve the pain and help my stomach to heal. Milk and food neutralized immediately but then made it worse as it caused more stomach acid to be produced; water diluted but then irritated; juices irritated; anti-acid stuff worked instantly but for only a short time after which the pain got much worse. When a friend suggested Aloe Vera juice, I tried it and was pleased.
So for about 5 months I abstained from citrus and tomatoes (and tropical fruit) and kept an 8oz bottle of pure Aloe Vera juice with me, sipping anytime during day or night I had pain, whether with meals or without. Usually I only needed about 8oz-12oz per day and it tapered off as time went on and I had less pain.
At the end of 5 months, they scoped my stomach again and all the ulcers had healed completely. The doctor (a very competent gastroenterologist) was surprised it happened without any prescription medication.
I've since had another peptic ulcer due to use of aspirin and the aloe vera worked again. I consider aloe vera juice a miracle cure for stomach ulcers not caused by H. Pylori."

[NAY] 09/29/2011: Lori from Glendale, Az replies: "Yes the apple cider vinegar is killing my stomach and seems to make my heartburn worse... Sad... lots of people seem to have good luck with it."
[YEA] 10/06/2011: Carol from Haverford, Pa replies: "When I first took ACV I felt the burn. I took 1 tablespoon. I decided to try it again at another time but I decided to try to take two tablespoons and sure enough it did the trick. I also eat red delicious apples to help my stomach."
05/09/2012: Zusie from Davenport, Florida replies: "EXCELLENT FOR PEOPLE WITH ULCERS. For years my dad had ulcers and finally a bleeding one! Dr. Prescribed pills, however, dad decided to go the healthier route. The nutritionist told him to do the following and it's helped HEAL not just coat the ulcer.(1) 1 cup milk (skim, 1 or 2% if you don't want all the extra calories)
(2) 1 Tblsp. Slippery Elm - powder
(3) honey or maple syrup to taste
(4)optional 1/2 banana.
Mix all ingredients in a blender and drink 1/2 hr. Before meals. It thickens so you need to drink it quickly.
Dad did this for a month, when he went back to the Dr. They tested him and said he was fine. We've shared this recipe with hundreds of friends over the years which has had great success stories.
Of course, avoiding coffee, soda, acidy foods, especially while it's healing. Each person has to know their body, but this most definitely will give you great relief from pain from ulcers and acid reflux. I'm also an ulcer and acid reflux sufferer and can honestly say "IT WORKS!""

[BETTER BUT NOT CURED] 03/13/2011: Layla from Atlanta, Ga, Usa: "I can't tell you how much I appreciate the advice I've found on this forum. I was diagnosed in January with suspected ulcers. The symptoms started in August with extreme stomach bloating after eating anything, and grawing stomach pains accompanied with constant stomach growling (even immediately after eating) and occasional heartburn and nausea.
In September, I upped my Probiotics and started on digestive enzymes along with daily Prilosec. None of this helped so my doctor put me on a prescription ulcer medicine to coat my stomach and Protonix. We I asked for a h pylori test she told me she couldn't do one until I had not been taking any acid reflux medicine for at least 60 days. (??)
These medicines weren't helping either so my next step was an endoscopy which they wanted to do right away. I have a huge insurance deductible so I decided to try this instead.
Last week started taking the 1/4 tsp of baking soda with 2 tablespoons of organic ACV 3 times a day. Three times a day I also take a cayenne pepper capsule and a glutamine capsule (per another post on here). By day 2 my stomach stopped bloating. By day 5 my stomach feels normal again and my appetite has returned. This is the first time since August I could eat without my stomach appearing to be 6 months pregnant.
I believe the regiment is killing the h pylori in my stomach. I really don't care what it's doing because it works!"
[WORKED TEMPORARILY] 03/24/2011: Layla from Atlanta, Ga replies: "This regiment worked tremendously well for a week then it stopped completely. I don't have a clue as to what happened. Very frustrating..."
08/23/2011: Nnj925 from Quantico, Va, Usa replies: "That really stinks that it stopped working for you... I am trying it today for the first time... Have you tried anything else?"
02/04/2012: Alana from Columbia, Sc replies: "You may have food allergies that can be attributed to your stomach problems. So while you may be helping any ulcers or too high or low acidity in the stomach with these remedies, you will probably continue to have problems if you are eating foods that you are allergic to. I would start by eliminating all dairy from your diet for 2 weeks and see if stomach issues improve. I would also eliminate gluten, soy and corn. Elimination diets show you how your body responds to certain foods. Good luck"

[YEA] 10/27/2007: Anne Derasmo from Ocala, Florida: "To the person asking if her doctor is right about apple cider vinegar causing ulcers, I am shocked at the ignorance of your doctor. To the contrary I took apple cider vinegar (organic, raw) to cure acid reflux and indigestion. Without it I don't know where I would be today. As an added benefit, my blood pressure went way down. I am a firm believer in raw, unfiltered, organic apple cider vinegar and would never stop taking it."
Replies07/07/2008: Mykey from Grover Beach, California replies: "Important news for those who suffer from ulcers: what you should know is that ulcers are caused by bacteria called h. pylori. Most doctors do not know that h. pylori lives in the stomach lining, and it does not live in the bloodstream. Therefore blood tests to detect h. pylori are useless, and a waste of your money. A breath test to detect h. pylori IS effective, most doctors do not know this test exists, and will not use the effective breath test. In the absence of a "positive test result", many doctors will fail to treat the cause.
With this in mind, please read the info from the CDC website:
http://www.cdc.gov/ulcer/myth.htm
When treated with the correct combination of two antibiotics, 98% of ulcers can be cured in two weeks or less! However, most doctors do not know or prescribe the correct antibiotics.
And then again, some individuals (like myself) do not have immunity to h. pylori and will become re-infected after a short period of time.
Which leads to the conclusion that treatments such as cabbage juice, apple cider vinegar, cayenne pepper, cloves, turmeric, etc...may very well be worth a try due to the action of either creating an environment in which h. pylori cannot live, OR boosting the immune response to the h. pylori infection.
Although the CAUSE of ulcers is now well known, effective treatment and effectively training doctors remains elusive. So then, thank you for your kind recommendations which may indeed prove just as effective as antibiotics, or MORE effective! I hope to report back to you that one or more of these natural treatments IS effective."
07/08/2008: Joyce from Joelton, Tn replies: "To the one who thinks H Pylori may cause another ulcer. Getting rid of bleached flour got rid of all my stomach problems years before the medical field discovered H Pylori as the cause. It still works for me - Anytime I want the misery, all I have to do is eat a couple of bites of anything made with bleached flour. Usually this occurs when I eat something that I didn't know was made with bleached flour. My stomach tells me about it in a hurry."
07/10/2008: mykey from grover beach, CA replies: "Yes, I can wholly agree. many individuals report sensitivity to bleached flour, also butter and dairy products. Others will have difficulty with fried foods or beer. But the ulcer is already there- the flour merely sets off the bleeding and irritation. Avoiding the target food is by far the best strategy, and this is an excellent point of fact... As far as my own recent experiment with cayenne pepper capsules, 450 mg, one every other day(after the initial burn)there is no question in my case that relief from reflex and pain was obtained. The active ingredient in cayenne being capsaicin, and is indeed medically documented to shrink and destroy cancer cells (among other benefits)including prostate and lung cancer cells, yes folks it's a fact. Many doctors have been treating reflux with Nexium or Prilosec but this shuts down your digestive system and overloads the kidneys. This is treating the symptoms, not the actual cause. It's far better to restore normal digestive function than to shut off the acid in your stomach. Once again thanks to all who have shared experiences, this has been most helpful."
02/21/2012: Sueathome from Lander, United States replies: "Be careful giving concrete advice when you don't know the full story. All ulcers are not caused my H Pylori. Here is a quote from a web-site."If you have an ulcer without an H. pylori infection, or one that is caused by taking aspirin or NSAIDs"."

[YEA] 09/30/2010: Natural4ever from Hudson, Fl: "I've been having stomach problems for a while now. Symptoms started with heartburn, acid reflux, and such and then went on to burning in my stomach and bouts of neusea that would come on out of the blue and last for hours. After researching it I deduced that it was an ulcer probably caused by H. Pylori. I started with ACV, 1 Tbs. 2-4 times a day in juice or water and raw honey for a couple of weeks which provided temporary relief and controlled the acid reflux but I was still having stomach pains and neusea.
When I had stomach pain I mixed cayenne pepper in hot water and that would provide me with relief of the pain for a while. Then a friend told me about Aloe Vera juice and how it would kill H. Pylori. I bought the whole leaf version and started drinking 4 oz. with grape juice first thing in the morning on an empty stomach. I sip it until it's gone, I don't guzzle it. I'm amazed that after day one of taking it and now 2 weeks later I have not had one symptom of the ulcer or acid reflux. I have more energy and I'm losing some weight to boot. I did have one day a couple of days after starting the aloe that I felt really crappy, like I was coming down with a bad cold or flu but no one I knew, including my wife and kids, was sick. I think it was the detox effect of the Aloe and ACV. It lasted about 12 hours then went away as quickly as it came on.
To be fair I must say that I was not diagnosed by any doctor and I should list everything I'm taking because it might be different things that are curing me. Every day I take a multi-vitamin, about 400-800 IUs of extra vitamin D, 1000-2000 mg. Flaxseed oil, 1200-2400 mg. Fish oil with omegas 3 and 6, 1200 mg. of red yeast rice and 50 mg. of C0Q10 for high cholesterol, 50 mg. 5-HTP and 500 mg. Acetyl-L Carnitine for anxiety, and I also take, like I said earlier, several Tbs. of ACV. I also drink a yogurt drink for the probiotics. I started taking a couple of Tbs. of local raw honey and then switched to Manuka honey which also kills H. Pylori. I haven't felt this good in years so I must be doing something right. I owe it all to researching everything here on EC. Thank you guys so much for being here and spreading the knowledge of natural remedies."

[YEA] 07/16/2008: Adil from New York, USA: "I've been diagnosed with H.Pylori a while ago and refused to see the doctor after one round of unhelpful antibiotics. My stomach would sometimes bleed a little. I could detect it from my saliva and stools. But it wasn't a big deal. Last week, I was trying to finish my dissertation and was really stressed. My stomach started bleeding constantly so I figured it probably turned into an ulcer, though I don't know the exact diagnosis. I started using ACV+baking soda (which had cured my acid reflux and stomach problems previously for 8 months but had then stopped working) along with Cayenne Pepper. I mix all of them in a bit of water and take it on an empty stomach. Within a day or two my bleeding stopped and I generally feel an increased sense of well-being. Thank you EC, and thank God for natural remedies."

[YEA] 01/25/2009: Kris from Vancouver, WA: "About a year ago I had a major heart attack (I'm 38). The doctors told me it was because of the stress the heart attack put on my body, I developed an ulcer. I was put on a double Previcid, but nothing helped. I was at the point I couldn't do anything, or eat anything without severe stomach pain.
A friend of mine suggested cabbage juice. I did some research and started drinking about 4 oz twice a day. The first day I felt better. Within about 4 days I felt like my old self. It's been two months, I quite drinking the cabbage juice after about 3 weeks, and have not had any symptoms or flare ups since. I would recommend this for anyone with stomach problems!"

[YEA] 01/08/2009: Marco from Fort Worth, TX: "Cabbage Juice is a great remedy for stomach ulcers. Most people see improvement about 5 days after starting to drink the juice. I used it for an ulcer that had been bothering me for months and I felt significantly better and pain free after only the first day of my supplementation. It's pretty simple.
Just buy cabbage from any store, most are average size and vary little from one to another. I usually slice off about half an inch off any side of the cabbage and put it into a blender. I add about 1 cup of distilled water and blend for a full minute. I let it set for about 5 minutes and then drink it down, pulp and all.
The taste is very plain. The only thing that will bother most people at first is the smell. But its very easy to drink - not bitter or foul tasting. You'll only taste it if you convince yourself it tastes like it smells, which I did at first. You generally do 3 cups a day, spaced out, until you ulcer is healed, which is usually 4-10 days for most people. If you're not seeing a doctor, its best to continue a couple of weeks as the cabbage juice relieves the pain of an ulcer, which may deceive some people into thinking it has actually healed in full. Changing your diet to avoid foods that irritate your ulcer (fats for most people are the irritants) is also crucial to healing.
Cabbage may also work for other digestive ailments. A cup of blended cabbage juice contains millions of friendly bacteria. There is actually significant scientific evidence out there that supports cabbage juices beneficial properties for ulcers and the digestive system in general. It's a very cost effective treatment and is definitely preferable to harmful antacids."
Replies03/16/2012: Kristina from Sheridan, Montana replies: "I think that your post is very helpful. I am going to try the remedy. Have you completely got your ulcer healed?"

[YEA] 05/20/2007: Sarah from Brussels, Belgium: "A couple of years ago I was diagnosed with GERD and I suffered from acid reflux and heartburn. The medication prescribed by the doctor rather worsened my situation and I suffered a number of side effects from it. I came across a site suggesting that drinking raw cabbage juice cures acid reflux and other problems related to the stomach, such as ulcer.I did further research to confirm this and decided to give it a try.
The general suggested daily dosage is about a quart [800ml] of raw cabbage juice to be taken about 4 times daily. I found that rather too much and I started with 400ml [100ml x 4].I noticed great improvement and after one week I reduced the dosage to 300ml [100ml x 3]. After about 3 weeks of the whole therapy, I decided to take only 200ml a day. Those with stomach ulcers or acute cases of acid reflux might need to take the full dosage.
I have stopped drinking cabbage juice since about 10 months now and I haven't had any serious reflux problems. For those who would like to try it, PLEASE NOTE that it is said to have strong impact on the thyroid glands [the more reason why I never consumed 800ml a day!]. Not to mention the stench - it is better stored in an air-tight water bottle and kept in the fridge. Good luck to all, and thanks for the great site."
Replies[WARNING!] 04/05/2012: Dorap from Milton, Fl replies: "WARNING: Know what you are doing before you drink cabbage juice. I have been having a lot of ulcer pain so I thought I would give cabbage juice a go. I pulled out my juicer, juiced an entire (small) head and drank it down fast. BIG. MISTAKE. Big. I guess you are only supposed to drink like half a cup at a time and take your time? I must have had at least 16 fl oz. I was miserable.... Rocking with nausea and a migraine after about 10 minutes. I finally was able to vomit, but the migraine lasted for over an hour. Anyway, just be careful with these raw juices. They are powerful stuff! I think I will be waiting a while before I try any more cabbage juice.... As bad as this ulcer hurts."
04/06/2012: Linda from New Haven, Ct, United States replies: "Hi. My husband has the same ulcer issues and, as we don't own a juicer, he simply chews the raw cabbage leaves. He'll take half a leaf at a time to chew very slowly before swallowing. He nibbles several leaves on and off throughout the day as he remembers to do so. He finds it very quickly takes care of the ulcer pain & usually only needs to do it for that one day to find relief. I'm sure there is very little juice in those few leaves so you're right... Very little goes a long way. No need for massive dosing here with those unfortunate side affects for overdosing."

[YEA] 11/10/2010: Bee from Somewhere, Mo, Usa: "I have been suffering from stomach pain and nausea from a stomach ulcer for years and have seen doctors multiple times. I was told always to take antacids and avoid coffee and alcohol. Avoiding those things helped, but the antacids made the nausea increase and of course it felt like my food just didn't digest. If my stomach was empty I would be in agony, the gnawing pain of an ulcer, and frequently had bouts of nausea that made it hard to be productive.
I tried aloe vera which had some success, digestive enzymes- didn't really help, probiotics- were useful but didn't help the ulcer. I had heard of cayenne for ulcers, but was hesitant to try- the idea of putting hot pepper on a tender stomach seemed crazy! But as the pain has recently been worsening and I don't have much money to see a doctor I was desperate.
I read up a little more and decided to get a bottle of cayenne capsules. I followed the instructions- 1 pill three times a day (455 mg). The first one I took, I took it on an empty stomach before a meal and fairly quickly I felt it take effect- it did burn and I felt increasing pain at first- and I worried I had made a mistake in taking it. However, the pain eased up and as the burn subsided it felt better. I was able to eat and felt for the first time that my food was digesting better. I have continued this for just over a week now- taking it with meals- and the pain lessens every day. I even woke up in the morning PAIN FREE!! After having stomach pain every morning for years, it was an amazing feeling! I will continue taking it for at least another week to ensure that the ulcer is fully healed- also avoiding coffee, tea, alcohol, and other irritants- but I would definitely label this a remedy a success for me! Cayenne has quickly become my favorite home remedy!"

[YEA] 03/24/2008: Paul Blake HMD from Lake Elsinore, Ca: "I have been reading your readers' emails and I wanted to make some comments about Cayenne Pepper. Cayenne is one of my favorate herbs for myself and my clients. I had prostate cancer 18 years ago and I cured it naturally using herbs, cleansing and diet only. For the cancer I used the John Ray Christopher method of cayenne tea with a teaspoon of cayenne pepper in warm water 3 times daily. Today I still use one or more teaspoons daily in my food at every meal. Just recently I received a call from a Doctor of Chinese medicine who was throwing up blood from ulcers. As I alway do I suggested cayenne capsuls using 100,000 heat units plus. He could not believe that this would work but he took my advice and within a few days his problem was over. Of course I also gave him some advice on changing diet and lifestyle. In my 18 years as a naturopahtic healer I have used cayenne many times for bleeding ulcers. Cayenne also works great for emphysema sufferors, I have seen patients get off oxygen bottles and out of wheelchairs. But the person with the disease must go beyond the herb for the disease and look at the way they eat and their lifestyle. If they do not change their life the disease will appear somewhere else in another form."

[YEA] 01/02/2008: Lisa from Southeast, USA: "12 years ago I finally got healed of an ulcer for which I'd been taking medication for several years. So when I recently began having that telltale burning, gnawing pain in my stomach, I knew exactly what was happening.
I also knew the whole routine...doctor's appointment, upper GI, ultrasound etc etc., just to have them tell me what I already knew. PLUS, they'd prescribe medications which my insurance will no longer cover because there are now non-prescription strengths of them available over-the-counter. Needless to say, I was willing to try an alternative method to save myself the time and expense. If you've ever had an ulcer, you usually don't have to have someone tell you what one feels like.
Anyway, I read somewhere about cayenne's healing effects. A week ago, I was up and down through the night with that burning, and all the antacids I could chew were simply giving me no relief. So Thursday morning I got up, got brave, and mixed a full measuring teaspoon of cayenne pepper into a teacup of very warm water and drank it down on an empty stomach.
It wasn't nearly as bad as I expected! And while I was warm all over and my stomach burned a little more when the fluid first hit that spot, the pain quickly diminished. Within minutes, I felt better than I had the day before, and as the day wore on, I continued to feel even better.
Anyway, I've repeated this every day now for the past week, and by day 3 the burning pain in my stomach was COMPLETELY AND TOTALLY GONE, even first thing in the morning. I'm continuing the regimen for therapeutic and preventive purposes, just to see if it cures my allergies and other problems. I'll probably reduce the daily dosage now that the stomach problem has subsided, but I'm a believer! And I'm a lifelong advocate of that little red pepper...this is news worth sharing!
Thank God for natural remedies."

Still don't know the cause, but the cayenne has stopped the pain and my entire system seems to be working much better. This simple treatment saved me a lot of time, money and the need for expensive drugs that seldom work well."
03/07/2011: Pratt from Manchester, Ct replies: "Hello Lisa ,
Glad you are feeling well. I have mild irriatation in my stomach and have had some bleeding.. Just wondering apart from taking the cayenne tea what was your diet during the healing period, if you can share that will be great - Pratt"
[YEA] 02/15/2012: Dana from Atlanta, Ga replies: "I took Lisa's advice and used Cayenne for my ulcer. I had been taking NSAIDS for pain due to a car accident and unfortunately took one too many. Although I wasn't formally diagnosed by a doctor, when I awoke with that burning pain in my stomach at 2am, I knew exactly what it was.I went straight to EC and found some great suggestions. I took the cayenne in warm water every morning, drank it just like a tea. It worked wonders. I also ate fresh avacado, almost daily. Everyday, the pain subsided less and less and in about than 2 weeks the pain was completely gone. The burning occurs when the Hydrochloric Acid of the stomach touches the ulcerated area. I also made sure I kept some bread or crackers on me, to constantly keep something in my stomach (every two hours or so).
Not being able to sleep at night for a few weeks was not fun. No more NSAIDS for me.... only natural remedies."

COCONUT OIL

[YEA] 09/20/2009: Josh from Daytona Beach, Florida: "I was suffering from ulcers for 2 years and couldnt find relief. I was prescribed carafate which covers the ulcer in an attempt to promote healing. With little success I tried herbal remedies and a healthy diet, eating natural foods, such as fruits, vegtables, and lean meats. I discovered extra virgin coconut oil and began taking 3 Tbls orally, within days I began to feel much better! Though ive read books that claim that coconut oil can cure ulcers alone I think it was a combination of the medication and good diet along with the coconut oil that cured my ulcer. If you are or ever do suffer the pain of an ulcer I strongly recomend the use of coconut oil, its a life saver!"

[YEA] 05/29/2008: WT from Spartanburg, SC: "I've always been a fan of natural remedies since childhood. I discovered coconut oil years ago while looking for a vinegar and oil recipe. We've always used RBD (refined, bleached, deoderized) and now use the Luanna brand found in Wal-Mart. A couple years ago I had increasing stomach pain over a several week period. It started out like hunger pains and got progressively worse. It got to the point that it wouldn't go away even after eating. I figured it must be an ulcer.
I had read that coconut oil killed the ulcer causing bacteria. I got on the internet and researched the dosage and began taking a tablespoon in the morning and another at night.
After three days or so the pain was gone and I stopped taking it. A few weeks later the pain came back. I figured if you take antibiotics for 7-10 days I should probably do the same with the coconut oil. Again the pain left in three days or so but I kept taking it for a week. That's been probably three years or so. I also try and eat fried eggs once every weekend just for good health.
PS: an arterial ultrasound on my carotid arteries, taken last year after about 8 years consuming the stuff, showed no evidence of plaque buildup.
I've smoked up to 2 packs a day until quitting 2 years ago and have never taken cholesterol meds. I'm 45 and my dad was 90% blocked by age 61.nI also take 4+ Grams of cheap ascorbic acid vitamin C almost daily."

COLLOIDAL SILVER, ALOE VERA, DGL

[YEA] 09/27/2011: David T from Greenville, Sc: "I have used a three part formula for years to heal my own "start up" stomach ulcers; always successful and have recommended the same at least twenty times with universal success. The latest success was a friend who happens to be a physician. She often makes fun of my "remedies" and attributes my various concoctions to my distant Cherokee heritage rather than good science. But the theory behind each element is real.
Assume for a moment that the ulcer's generation is often due to irritation caused by a virus or bacteria.
Then if that is so, we must have a virucide and so I use colloidal silver as the first ingredient. Therefore, take on an empty stomach about a quarter of a cup of colloidal silver in the morning and at night. Silver, of course, kills both virus and bacteria as well as fungi.
Second, we need a burn healer, because the ulcer is effectively an unhealed burn, and so use liquid aloe vera. Use a strong form. Take a quarter of a cup on an empty stomach ten minutes after you have taken the silver.
This formula worked for many years but one of my gurus told me to add DGL which is a derivative of licorice. It often comes in chewable form which I recommend. The DGL apparently also acts to heal the wound. This comes last. Take two morning and evening before bed after the silver and aloe.
This three part formula should be used for a month. When you feel that the ulcer is no longer hurting you, you can cut the formula in half for an additional month. This is to just make sure the ulcer is completely healed.
As far as diet goes, you must get completely off of all coffee (even de-caff because it too is acidic), elimination of acidic foods, like peppers and tomatos... for at least a month.
Your ulcer may not have originated from a virus or bacteria, but since you do not know, we must assume that at the heart of the irritation is a "bug."
You could also add natural vitamin E as a wound healer... Not synthetic E. Natural E will say on the labeling, "d-alpha tocopherol" while synthetic will say, "dl-alpha tocopherol"... the extra "l" after the "d" is all the difference! Almost every health food store will only sell the natural."

[YEA] 11/05/2009: Liz from Seattle, Wa.: "Am 70 and have acid reflux for years. Got herbs from the Chinese doc and things are better. If you think that you might have ulcers, cranberry juice is great. I drink it with soda water to make it more palatable - no sugar. Find that sugar really starts the acid reflux. As long as I avoid it, I'm good. Also Health food stores have some good digestion teas that help."

[YEA] 01/20/2010: Christine from Bronx, New York: "stomache ulcer
I am so amazed by the fact that , for years i have gone to the doctor for a terrible stmache ulcer that i had. I was diagnosed at the age of 25. I was told that my ulcer was caused by a bacteria, H. pylori. Anyway, i was prescribe on numerous occasions, prevacid and prevpac. The prev pac cause me to get a yeast infection and bacteria vaginoisis that would not go away no matter what. finally, after years of suffering and research, i decided i was going to treat myself. I bought Diatomaceous earth, Clay (Terramin), and powdered wheatgrass. I mixed the diatomaceous earth together, half and half. The wheat grass did not taste so hot so i bought empty capsules and stuffed the wheatgrass in. Every morning before i eat i would drink a tablespoon full of my DE and clay mixture in an 8 ounce glass of water. I also at the same time take 4 of the wheatgrass capsules. I do this every morning and everynight before bed. within 2 week the pain in my stomache was gone. my yeast infection disappeared. the horrible smell caused by the bacteral vaginoisis disaapeared with only a small amount of discharge remaining. Also i suffer from fibroids and i no longer feel them nor the pain that they cause."

Once I knew I had a duodenal stomach ulcer I check the net and read of many cures but none so obvious as garlic. The nausea of five weeks went away in two hours and the next morning my appetite had fully returned! Eight crushed cloves a day for eight days (on bread under humus or pesto) - miraculous!"
