[YEA] 04/03/2007: Keerati from Bangkok, Thailand writes: "This is more of a beauty experience. I am a college students and once in a while, I ran out of money to buy expensive face cream, so i tried this extra virgin coconut oil that i bought ages ago (for my hair)...on my face. and WOW...my skin was glowing. i have oily/ acne prone skin but it doesn't irritate me. in fact, i've cut down the expenses such as face cream, toner, hair mask, makeup remover, body lotion, foot lotion, hand cream etc. WOW!...that's a lot of saving..with just one jar of coconut oil!"

[YEA] 01/28/2007: Jamie from Van Nuys, CA writes: "Dry skin be gone!! I love this site, and I love testimonials. i am a sucker for them, for better or worse, and have bought many a useless thing based on them. But I am SO SO SO happy to say that this time it actually came true for me! After reading all the great stuff on the site, I bought some Virgin coconut oil. I have fairly dry skin (and always issues with acne and hating my skin) and I have religiously applied a good, natural vitamin A and E lotion everyday after showers for a long time, etc. do all the "lock in moisture" tips... but I still had dry skin, also felt tight no matter what, never that dewy, glowing thing you hear about all the time from really expensive lotions and creams. oh my god thank god for coconut oil!! i am in love with it. I have used it maybe 3 or 4 days now, all over my body and any flakiness is GONE. gone!! yay! my hands are very dry because I work with them, but when I take the time to rub in the oil it keeps it from cracking at least. I know if I am more diligent I might actually feel like I don't have man hands! ha. The best thing is when I used it for a stir fry! holy cow, in love all over again. I mean, I really do feel like I glow like an 'island beauty' when I put it on, it melts so nicely and thin and silky on body temperature, and I am a redhead so anything that helps me feeling smooth and less mottled is a godsend. honestly, i am silk, not grease. even when it goes on it's not like oil, it's bliss. I'm a little overwhelmed with how/if to take it internally, along with all the ACV, molasses, hydrogen peroxide stuff... i don't want to bombard my body.. Any suggestions on how to prioritize which of these I ingest/get in a good steady routine? Or if it's harmful to be eating coconut oil AND all this other stuff? is it too much? regardless, for dry skin coconut oil is THE WAY TO GO. hands down. OH! also feels so so nice on my face. I was worried I'd break out but so far so good. I actually, finally (sob) feel RIGHT in my skin. hasn't been so for a long time. my face actually feels lubricated, I have been stunned the past night or two that I put it on my face to realize that it feels healthy from the inside, which is literally unreal and a blessing. my self image has improved from outside, inside out! Not too be too dramatic, but I really finally feel like I can say I'm a beautiful woman, because my skin FEELS fresh, healthy and also looks it. thank you!!!"

[YEA] 01/11/2007: Krystal from Memphis, TN writes: "I began using coconut oil on my hair and body and it is awesome. My skin is so soft. After I take my ACV bath or spray my body down with ACV after a shower, I wait until I am completely dry and rub my body down with the coconut oil. It is so good to my skin I can't help but to rub my own face and body! I began putting it around my dry cuticles; letting the oil soak in and can you believe my cuticle look awesome. I put it on my lips and let the oils soak in to make my lips softer. I don't need chap stick. I have coconut oil. I use a little on my hair and oil my scalp with it. I am going to experiment with taking it internally. I have read the comments about taking to much so I am going to start off slow. Natural products are awesome. Why don't we use what God intended! Nature! Vegetation & herbs! I love nature!"

[YEA] 01/07/2007: Lisa from Bangkok, Thailand writes: "I ingest pure virgin coconut oil twice per day. I used to have dry scaly skin. I tried the most expensive lotion brands: Loccitane, Origins, Bath & Body Works -- but nothing made my skin shiny and smooth. After two weeks of ingesting coconut oil and using externally my skin began to shine! My boyfriend couldn't stop touching me and everyone thought I was pregnant because my skin glowed. I am an African-American so we notoriously suffer from dry skin but now I have beautiful skin and because I live in Thailand I have access to some of the best oil around at good prices. The only mild reactions I had was gas which I took gas pills for."
Replies01/31/2010: Sultana from Birmingham, Uk replies: "Hi. Recently i have been suffering from really dry sensitive skin. I don't normally have this problem but iv been coming out with noticable dry red patches on my face. I have tried everything, but nothing is working. Iv started coconut oil, taking it internally and externally but iv found that it dries up really quickly. The rest of my skin is looking great but the patches are still dry and red. Maybe im using it wrong? for anyone else who has sensitive dry skin, please could you give me some advise on applying coconut oil. i really don't want to give up on it... thank you. x"
02/02/2010: Dianna from Austin, Tx replies: "depending on your body and the climate where you live - coconut oil may not work well for very dry sensitive skin.
coconut oil is a cooling oil - meaning that it feels cooling to the skin and very dry skin needs more warming type oils.
try another oil - castor oil would be great, even extra virgin olive oil, or if you can find some cold pressed sesame oil that would be great too.
if you want to keep using the coconut oil i would suggest to supplement its use by adding some castor oil either mixed in or on top of it.
castor oil is also anti fungal and anti-inflammatory.
coconut oil only works for me in the warm weather. if i use it when it is cold here my skin seems to actually get drier and shrink up!
however in the summer it works great!!! oh and you could also try warming up your coconut oil too.
djh"
02/03/2010: Sultana from Birmingham, Uk replies: "thank you very much for a reply, I will try warming the coconut oil. Don't really want to try anything else as iv tried so many things and getting fed up now. What ive been doing is washing my face with warm water, applying vco then putting a warm damp flannel on my face. I leave that on for a couple of seconds then apply another layer of coconut oil. after a bit it still dries up but not as bad as before. I am slowly seeing a difference with coconut oil, its better than the other creams but I guess I'm just going to have to be patient. I have taking atleast 3tbsp a day with a glass of warm milk and definately noticed a difference. my hairloss has reduced and my gums aren't as sensitive as they used to be. Can I ask what brands are good?"

COLLOIDAL SILVER

[YEA] 01/12/2008: gabi from toronto, canada writes: "re: good skin after 50. I love to read your remedies. They are very useful. I have a few for skin (face). For all kinds of acnes or boils and blemishes the best and always working is "silver water". Apply only once over affected area and give it up to 3 days. The worst boil will die!. I use colloidal silver water in spray bottle. The best bottle is after hair spray (very fine spray/mist). Another tip is using fresh lemon juice to moisturize. It works also better than the best scrubbing cream, Removes skin discolorations! I also drink fresh lemon juice every day. My skin is even, smooth and has good elasticity. PH balance is perfect and I never have any colds or flu! During winter I use coconut oil and sometimes neem oil on problem areas. I started WATER CURE2 and it makes big difference! I am going to try black strap molasses and ACV. Does anybody know receipe for enema with black strap molasses? Is wonderful to help bad constipation. It helps when doctor has no other advice than "digital treatment"! It is: 3 tbs per one glass of lukewarm water. Is safe and very beneficial because of mineral contents. I am collecting home remedies with the idea to put all of them together in a book. It you have anything simple and easy to do or use, not expensive, please email me! Thank you"

[YEA] 03/18/2007: John from Erie, PA writes: "There is a century old balm used by farmers that is absolutely amazing for the skin. Although farmers use it on cow udders, it's healing powers for humans is hard to beat. I had a cut that I was putting Neosporin on for weeks and it was just not healing. After applying the "Bag Balm" on it for 3 days the cut is almost completely healed. It works wonders on burns, cuts, dry chapped skin, etc. You can find this Bag Balm in the pet section of any grocery store for about $5. It lasts forever too."

[YEA] 12/09/2009: Auset from Northern California, California Usa writes: "Beautiful Skin
I had been using a 22 dollar natural chamomile cream on my face. I am 42 and take heavy medication for an autoimmune disorder. Btwn the meds and age, I was beginning to wrinkle. I do a lot of computer work and am into natural healing and looked up natural eye relief remedies for strained eyes. Cucumber came up and I also saw that wrinkle creams use cucumber extract. So, I decided to slice off 1/2 inch cucumber circle and rub it on my face as well as my eyes. I rubbed both sides of the cucumber circle all over my face til it was soggy and limp. It was an instant oil free moisturizer! My face has always been oily and the least bit of oil in something clogged my pores. I have dry parts on my face as well. Not any more! My skin absolutely glows, is super smooth and looks young. The wrinkles have been lessening and it's been about i month. I do this 2 to 3 times a day and the more I do it, the better my skin looks. I am African American and have uneven skin tone and it is evening out my dark eye circles. I dont even use the cream any more and just spend a 1.00 or two for naturally beautiful skin."
Replies12/11/2009: Patricia from Sanford, Fl replies: "I will definitely try this, Auset! I have Lupus, so my face will break out in a rash occasionally, and when it dries up my skin is very flakey and tender. Tell me....how long do you leave the cucumber "juice" on your skin before rinsing?"
03/06/2011: Naturally_me from Potlatch, Idaho, 83855 replies: "Does the cucumber work to reduce under eye bags? I have been using white tea, and I soak coffee filters in a jar of tea leaves and tea, then I remove a filter and apply it to my face for a few minutes. Then, everytime I go to the bathroom, I take a Qtip and swab my face with the tea and then apply coconut oil to my face, gently massaging under my eyes. I leave the coconut oil on all day, it absorbs in to the skin as long as you do not apply to thick of a coat! I recently began Oil Pulling with Virgin coconut oil as well. I am starting to notice a difference but it seems like it is a temporary improvement so far, (my bags seem to return. It could be because I just started all this and it will work over time. The rest of my face feels great, just under my eyes is what I struggle with at this point.Note: I do think my bags under my eyes are brought on by smoking and prescription medicine, and stress. I also drink apple cider vinegar with a quarter tsp. of baking soda, water and honey. Does anyone know if this will turn in to a permanent solution for dark under eye circles?"

DIET TIPS

[YEA] 04/03/2007: Mila from Sacramento, California writes: "I tried essential oils, more specifically, rosemary and coriander oils, for my blackheads and active acne, and a miracle happened with my face. Here is how I do it: at night I wash my face first if i have makeup on with my regular camphor based cleanser, then about an hour later i heat up a huge pot of water, and hold my face above the steam for about 10-15 minutes, i also cover my head with a big towel, so the heat does not escape. The steam helps open up the pores and let the toxins out. Then I take a shower and rinse my face off oil and toxins. After i get out i pat my face dry and apply coriander and rosemary oil mixed together. It's been a couple of weeks, and my face has cleared up so much, I am amazed. There are other things I do too, like drinking less caffeine and eating less sugar ,taking flax and omega 3,6,9 oils, also praying to God( I'm a christian), and my skin has been great. It doesn't get congested anymore, it's color is more healthy and even, I am absolutely amazed. I am 22, so I know acne at my age is an internal problem, so I recommend to anybody the essential oils(coriander and rosemary), but also checking your diet, some foods cause your skin to congest and breakout. Hope this helps)) I think I'll be using essential oils now,for me they've been more effective and a lot less expensive than facials and pretty much all brand name products i've tried in my life, and trust me i've wasted thousands of dollars on lotions, facials, cremes, etc. God bless you, and hope you find this comment helpful."

[YEA] 10/25/2007: Linda from Fremont, NE writes: "I just had lunch with my best friend who is 65, I am 48 and her skin looks younger than mine!! :( I asked her what her skin care regimen involved, and this is it. She doesn't wear any makeup what so ever, believe me she doesn't need to; she has great skin. She said she'd be embarrassed to tell most people this, but she only washes her face about every 3-4 days. And she does it in the shower. She uses a wash cloth and puts her face under real warm water and gently scrubs in upward motions a few minutes and that's it. No cleansers, no lotions, nothing. She said that the less you mess with your skin, the better it is. If you think about it, it's probably worse having the cosmetics on our skin 16 hours a day, than it is to go 3-4 days without washing a face with NO cosmetics, considering all the toxic stuff in cosmetics and cleansers that we use. When I think back to my younger days on the farm, I only washed my face a few times a week and had beautiful skin. It wasn't until I started wearing cosmetics and over washing it that I started having problems with it. Something to think about!!!"

I was trying to find a more natural facial moisturizer (our skin is porous) and ran across this site. It is amazing what chemicals cosmetic companies have in their products. I have shared this site with those who are not too sure about going a little bit more in harmony with nature. I thought some of you may like to share too. Also in this site you can read about pesticide levels in your average fruit, vegetables, seafood's, etc. Just a lot of eye opening information in this site. Earth Clinic is the best!"

I also have been doing lots of research on natural and organic hair products lately since I noticed that my beautiful long dark hair started falling out little bit. It still looks nice and thick, but I am determined to control the future of hair in my own hand. During the research, I was absolutely shocked to find out what's in our shampoo, skin care and other products...I threw away all my old shampoo and facial cleaner. I started using organic hair products from Morocco Method, Miessence, & Terressentials, and facial products from Organic Pharmacy. I also started taking organic Blackstrap Molasses and apple cider vinegar as mentioned in my last posting...I can't wait to apply more "secrets" that I found in this site to my life! :o) Keep up the good work, Earthclinic!!!!"

They both work excellently on my face. I use one or the other whatever is in stock at the store. My husband said he could see a big difference right away. My skin looks younger and has a beautiful glow. I'm 44 yrs old and people think I'm in my late 20's. That's something to smile about."

ENLARGED PORES
11/28/2011: Carlos from Barcelona, Spain writes: "Hello,
After many years assuming I just had large pores naturally, I decided to surf the web looking for a natural solution.
I found a lot of people looking for a way to close the large pores. Other websites advised to first open the pores by exfoliation, hot water scrub, etc. and later seal them with cold water, lemon or any other trick.
What I have found thru trial and error is both were right and wrong in some way. If you try to close your pores, using cold water, lemon, eggs whites etc what you are doing is contributing to make them larger.
So I started experimenting. I did the traditional boiled water and towel experiment. Afterwards, I scrubbed with Baking soda, which is a wonderful cleanser I discovered here in Earthclinic. It helped the pores seemed clean but still very noticeable. My skin felt irritated. My skin was peeling but still the pores were large like craters.
I read somewhere in the web to massage really strong coconut oil. SO I started to massage it with both hands really hard. Little black hairs started to come out as I kept massaging. Things that no scrub or mask had dealt before.
I had seen in youtube a doctor explaining how the pore gets large cause it's closed and the sebum gets trapped in the skin making the pore large.
The coconut oil massaging irritated my skin but I decided to give it a few days since I was seeing the stuff coming out. It felt weird cause I wasn't feeling any pain or scrubbing but all those little black hairs were coming out.
I did this procedure 3 times a day, massaging around 10 minutes applying more oil when it got dry. But instead of applying cold water at the end I decided to rinse with hot water and leave my pores open. Pat dry with a towel and that's it. The first morning after massaging at night I woke up with the oiliest nose I've had in my life. I touched it and it felt as if I put a teaspoon of olive oil in my face. I went to the bathroom, cleaned with hot water and baking soda and once again used the coconut oil. To my surprise more black hairs were coming out. The night before I stopped massaging when no more stuff was coming out. So I started to realize all the mess that was going on beneath my skin. And I realized most people clean only the visible part of the skin using scrubs, etc.
So I kept washing with baking soda, massaging coconut oil and ending with hot water. Sunday I forgot to do it all together. Monday I went to the bathroom and washed my face with hot water, it was enough to get rid of some dead cells that leave space to a completely new and soft skin in my nose area. I never thought that I could get rid of those large pores and this fast. I got rid of all the large pores in my cheeks and nostrils I only have some in the tip of the nose but definitely smaller.
At noon, cleansed my skin with hot water just rubbing my fingers and at night I have massaged my skin with coconut oil . Again those litttle black hairs or whatever thay are came out. I spent my 10 minutes. I feel amazed to glide my fingers around my nose area and don't feel any pore.
I forgot to mention that I also took about 2 tbspons of coconut oil daily for 2 days. But I think the massaging is what made the difference.
So people don't focus on your outside skin, baking soda can do a good work removing sebum in the outside and cleaning the enlarged pores but if you really want to get rid of the large pores you need the stuff inside the folicle to come out. And I haven't found anything more effective and safer than coconut oil massaging.
I think some people just apply coconut oil as a moisturizer hoping for it to close the pores. Like I said your focus should not be to close the pores. Your focus should be keep them open for as many hours as you can. Always use hot water. When you do that all the stuff will come out in a matter of days and then the pore will naturally wrink. That's the way to go. The other way you will only make them look smaller temporarily but you are closing the pore which makes all that sebum stay inside the follicle and enlarge the pore further."
Replies01/06/2012: Coco from Too Small Town, Ca replies: "I discovered this site a couple of months pago and it is changing my life, thank you Earth Clinic! I too have large pores and have spent lots of money in the cosmetic aisle with no positive results. But some negative... See I'm 39 and my face has oily skin, dry skin, large pores, whiteheads, pimples, moles, facial dark hair, occasional herpes, sun spots and white spots, acne scars, redness, a few wrinkles.... Name it, I have it. When I bought a product for a problem it made another problem worse. Now thanks to EC, I have thrown everything out! I started washing my face with water and borax, scrub with baking soda, moisturize with coconut or castor oil. Huge improvements in the pimple, whitehead, redness area, sunspots are fading. My skin still feels a little dry and my pores still look huge, so I 'm going to use the coconut oil the way you do instead of a moisturizer. I'm so excited! What am I going to do with the $100 a month I am saving on cosmetic products? Thank you!"
01/06/2012: Beatrice from Vancouver, Bc/canada replies: "Coco, to eliminate the dryness after use of borax and soda, use apple cider vinegar as a toner to counteract the alkalinity of those washing agents. (the smell of ACV will evaporate quickly). I do this only at night time to clean all the makeup, in the morning, just wash your face with water, so you do not disturb the PH of your skin unnecessarily. Helps with acne and blackheads. My ideal moisturizer is a combo of rose water, fresh lemon juice and vegetable glycerine. No need for oils or creams."
01/15/2012: Kellie from Syracuse, Ny, Us replies: "I hope to use this method to finally get rid of the blackheads on my nose and chin! I started today and got to about 15 minutes of massaging the coconut oil before I was bored and had to stop. No little black hairs came out of my face but I'm going to keep doing this every day in hopes that they will!"
