Natural Remedies to Cure or Treat Pelvic Inflammatory Disease

"Pelvic inflammatory disease (or disorder) (PID) is a generic term for inflammation of the female uterus, fallopian tubes, and/or ovaries as it progresses to scar formation with adhesions to nearby tissues and organs. This may lead to tissue necrosis with/or without abscess formation. Pus can be released into the peritoneum. Two thirds of patients with laparoscopic evidence of previous PID were not aware they had PID. PID is often associated with sexually transmitted diseases, as it is a common result of such infections. PID is a vague term and can refer to viral, fungal, parasitic, though most often bacterial infections. PID should be classified by affected organs, the stage of the infection, and the organism(s) causing it. Although an STD is often the cause, other routes are possible, including lymphatic, postpartum, postabortal (either miscarriage or abortion) or intrauterine device (IUD) related, and hematogenous spread." BAKING SODA

02/15/2012: Anon from Anon: "Get a tall glass, half full of water, disolve 1/2 teaspoon of sodium bicarbonate (baking SODA, not powder) in it, put in a heaping teaspoon of psyllium fiber for bulk, stir up good and drink right away. When the psyllium gets to the colon it alkalizes it."

[YEA]  12/25/2006: Anonymous from New Zealand: "I was diagnosed with an inflammed pelvic caused by an unknown source. numerous trips to the doctor and painful examinations, and several courses of antibiotics did nothing for me. I looked up on the internet and found that dong quai is a great womans herb. I bought some as a tea and drank copious amounts and within a few days i could feel a change, and within a week I felt no pain and was enjoying pain free sex again. Dong Quai is apparently great for lots of womens problems"

[YEA]  06/08/2009: Mtnwmn from Craig, Colorado replies: "I too suffer from PID. I started taking Dong Quai Capsules (520mg - 2 capsules 2-3 times a day). Within a week or so I felt no symptoms of PID. Not being sure of the side effects from prolonged use, I went off of it for 2 mo. I am restarting my dosage again now that symtoms are reoccurring."

[YEA]  02/15/2012: Anon from Anon: "If you're female, take a largish clove of garlic, crush and split it somewhat lengthwise to form a cavity, drop 2 or 3 drops of oregano oil into it and push it inside the vagina to the back so it doesn't fall out. Be careful not to spill the oil. It will burn a bit, but the burn goes away in a few minutes. Leave it in for a day or two at a time."

SWEDISH BITTERS

01/18/2012: Anon from Anon: "Not sure if it's PID, but it seems to be. Swedish Bitters seems to be working best, haven't gone to the Dr. for it. 1 or 2 teaspoons with a meal, bottle says 1 or 2 teaspoons once per day."

01/20/2012: Anon from Anon replies: "The dossage is upped to 2 teaspoons 3 times a day w/ food. Salad and fresh fruit seem best foods to take it with. Added raw beets 1 a day, and 2 or 3 garlic cloves. Been sick for years, finally after about 4 days much better. Always been run down, tired, achy, sugar issues, can't take milk or wheat, started getting lower leg pain and vericose veins, started getting sharp abdominal pain. That's when I started the bitters. I knew it was an infection because years ago on Azithromycin it was much better."
02/08/2012: Annie from Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada replies: "Are the swedish bitters still helping your pid??"
