BETTER BUT NOT CURED

[BETTER BUT NOT CURED]  09/15/2009: Griselda from Gandia, Spain: "Keeping migraines at bay: The following protocol works for me

Lots of raw vegetable salads, minimum daily- 1 big lettuce salad(with other raw veg as well) and 1 small or big one with or without lettuce.

Whenever I eat anything cooked (except bread or potatoes) I take lots of natural vegetarian enzymes 4 x what is indicated on the bottle and 6 tabs of a formula that aids the organs of elimination to function. And if a slight feeling of migraine starts I repeat all that.

Everynight and morning I do the Do-in exercise to cure rhinitis, empyema and pollen allergies(one exercise for all those)

I take magnesium and also feverfew

But if a migraine is about to start or has just started, juice of at least 4(or more) freshly squeezed grapefruits (or eating a lettuce) and doing EFT works wonders you can find out what EFT is on the internet.

The cidervinegar at first lessened my migraines but then suddenly completely stopped working and made them worse

After 10 years I hope/believe that the above is the answer"

NIACIN

09/18/2010: Tom from Regina, Sk: "MIGRAINES:

Here is a very quick and cheap thing to try, because all it'll cost is a small bottle of the niacin form (nicotinic acid) of Vitamin B3! I note that B3 is not listed under the Vitamins on this site, and B3 is not in the Remedies list under Migraines, either.

From the Linus Pauling site (well, one of them):

Two Case Reports on the Treatment of Acute Migraine with Niacin: Its Hypothetical Mechanism of Action Upon Calcitonin-Gene Related Peptide and Platelets
Jonathan E. Prousky, N. D. , FRSH; Erika Sykes, N. D. (Cand)

http://www.orthomolecular.org/library/jom/2003/pdf/2003-v18n02-p108.pdf

At the first sign of aura, he orally ingested 300 to 500mg of niacin, slightly chewing the niacin pills to allow them to dissolve slowly in his mouth. Hall found that the benefits of niacin were most pronounced when taken on an empty stomach, although it was noted that there was still a MH relieving effect when taken after meals. Additionally, he remarked that the migraines were resolved when intense flushing occurred."

I could not find sesame or sunflower so made do with VCO and Safflower oil. 1 tablespoon every morning. It worked the first time I tried it! No migraine. It also helped to ease my achy jaw, which was a result of clenching my molars for long periods, to bear wit the migraine. I sleep better too! Will continue this for as long as I can!"

PAPER BAG TECHNIQUE

Ratings:

YEA

[YEA]  03/10/2009: Wanda from Sykesville, Md: "Migraines & paper bags:

Whenever I get auras, sparkles and blurred vision and feel a migraine headache coming on, I grab a lunchbag (McDonald's bag works fine), and breathe in and out of it for 20 minutes. The carbon dioxide that I breathe back in helps constrict the expanded blood vessels which create the pounding headache in a migraine. I've used this technique for several years, with great success."

08/05/2009: Lin from Sykesville/Eldersburg, Md replies: "I'm also from Sykesville area, too! I get migraines as well -- have for about 20 years now. Sometimes I would swear they are related to my menstrual cycle, sometimes they are not. I can eat really bad foods & be fine, or go on a health-conscious diet & get these headaches. Usually they are with nausea. Also de-hydration has almost nothing to do w/my headaches.

Anyway, I'll try the paper bag technique (from the local McD's right? -LOL!!) Interesting about the carbon dioxide...

Another (CHEAP) sort-of remedy I wanted to mention is...(I've been desperate after having tried both OTC & Rx meds NOT help).......(drumroll, please) a cheap $3 tube of toothpaste. Doesn't have to be any brand in particular...just apply to the temples, maybe around the eyes -- be careful not to get in the eye.

The cool sensation makes the pain temporarily subside. I've found this toothpaste treatment (my BF calls it "warpaint") combined with sleep or rest in darkness, headache meds, & TIME helps to relieve the migraine. Thanks & good luck!"

WARNING!

[WARNING!]  04/10/2008: Randahl from San Jose, California: "For those looking to use Oil of Oregano for it's antimicrobial properties, I would like to specify that Oil of Oregano is NOT Oregano Essential oil, which would have to be diluted. If you're looking to buy this remedy, make sure that the ingredients list states that there is a carrier oil (like olive oil). Otherwise, be prepared to dilute it yourself, or there could be serious negative effects.

I have seen some people writing in remedies that include putting undiluted essential oils on their skin. I think I saw a remedy for headaches or migraines that recommended putting peppermint essential oil on the temples. I have been studying aromatherapy for 5 years, and one of the most basic lessons is that you almost NEVER use essential oils undiluted. Peppermint essential oil in particular is considered to be a skin irritant to all skin types when used undiluted. If put on the temples, the strength of the fumes could seriously irritate the eyes and the delicate area around the eye. If you are going to try any remedy including essential oils, DILUTE FIRST! Even if the remedy doesn't specify it, you'll be saving yourself from possible complications."

RAW CABBAGE, CRYSTALLIZED GINGER

[YEA]  02/10/2010: Otter from Tyneside, England: "I suffer from occasional migraines, which I can stop if i catch them early enough (though sometimes I wake with one and there is not much I can do)

To stop the symptoms developing and to lessen the syptoms when I already have one, I eat some chopped raw cabbage (contains the same active ingredient as aspirin, I believe) and chew a piece of crystalised ginger root. This lessens both the headache and the sick feeling. I don't swallow the ginger, just chew it and swallow the 'juice', then spit it out. Because for some reason it gives me hiccups!!"

06/08/2010: Eve K from Houston, Texas Usa replies: "I have taken Indonesian type of ginger candy (usually in the Asian section of a regular grocery store, natural health market,or sometimes you have to find an ethnic grocer)--they are strong but tasty. It has helped with sea sickness, nausea from dietary indiscretions and other self-inflicted causes, and with sinus-type headache. I have not tried for migraine but I will. Ginger candy is also good for kids who are motion sick or just have a tummy ache---no danger of overdosing, tastes good, etc. but it does have a fair amount of sugar so mind that...."

RED WINE VINEGAR AND BAKING SODA

YEA

[YEA]  10/08/2008: Cristian from Toronto, Ontario / Canada: "Ailment: Migraine Headache and Nausea.

I ate some bad chinese food and got a really bad migraine headache followed by nausea. I layed in bed to try to wait it out but it just got worse. I had this for about 5 hours.

Remedy: My grandmother (85 years old) is visiting from Spain and when I told her how I wasn't feeling good, she made me the following mixture:

1 8oz glass of water
15ml of red wine vinegar
15ml of baking soda

She mixed it all together and forced me to chug it while the baking soda was still fizzing. For a few seconds later I felt like I was really going to vomit! But then miraculously 5 minutes passed and my headache had COMPLETELY dissapeared and a couple of minutes after that I had no more nausea!!! i couldn't believe that this old natural cure worked so effectively! And the baking soda kept making me burp which felt really good!

After that I got a lecture from my grandmother about not eating chinese food, while she waved her finger in my face! She's so cute.

Thanks grandma!"

EC: Yep, that MSG will getcha every time!

02/10/2012: Phughes from London, London, Uk: "Hi there - not sure which ailment this one will go into but hope someone can help. A neurologist recently diagnosed my migraine and dizzy symptoms as a result of a head injury I sustained in August last year. The bang on the head has triggered the migraines I experienced as a young adult and which I grew out of about five years ago. His recommendation to rid me of the dizziness is to be on beta blockers for at least 2-3 months. I'm not massively keen on prescription drugs. Can anyone recommend an alternative to 'reset' my overactive brain in the issue of balance? Effectively that is what the neurologist said the pills would do. Thanks in advance."

02/10/2012: Linda from San Francisco, Ca, USA replies: "Hi Phughes, I suggest you look into the use of Hyaluronic Acid to recover from concussion, whether or not you had one. There is extensive information on Earthclinic about this supplement, but I would look it up on the web also, specifically for treatment of concussion and other impact-related head injuries.

Stay well,

Linda :-)"

02/11/2012: Timh from Louisville, Ky, Usa replies: "Phughes, after suffering from headaches associated w/ chronic infections and w/ nothing helping to ease, I began using Magnet Therapy on my head as I had been having good results on other body parts. I simply used one of those thin refrigerator magnets w/ some results. I later upped to stronger magnets w/ very good results. I currently do about 30 min therapy at least once wk, headache or no, as a preventive measure.

Magnets have powerful anti-inflammatory and healing power by reducing bad energy and increasing good energy. *Always use the same pole that adheres to metal on the body.

Hope this helps and good luck."

02/13/2012: Phughes from London, London, Uk replies: "Hello both, Thank you very much for your help. I haven't heard of either suggestions you have made so will spend some time doing research.

He had migraines and some short term memory problems (tell him something and within 5 min. He might remember). He went to the mall and bought some really good sunglasses as his eyes are sensitive to the sun. Not knowing that most of his headaches was due to light sensitivity. Headaches are alot better, memory thing comes and goes and is few and far between. ( some I think is selective). God is Great. Maybe this will help somewhat and not be anything more serious than this."

09/15/2011: Mindy from Tulare, Ca. / Usa: "Hello,

My name is Mindy. I am 45 years old and have a handful of health issues. I am Hypothyriod. I have clinical migraines daily. I am anemic. And... Now, I am perimenopausal. Joy joy!

I have been suffering from migraines for over 10 years now and they have gotten more intense and much more frequent over the past 2 years or so. Doctors have tried all sorts of meds on me. Relpax is what I currently use, though I truly do despise medication. Unfortunately, it is the only thing that I've found that somewhat works. Long story short, I finally had an MRI of my head done about a week and a half ago and the results showed normal brain, however chronic sinusitis. I'm afraid that is likely a broad term. Here's the thing though... I, for many many years had chronic sinus infections. I always had a minimum of 3 per year. They were horrendous. Then, they just stopped. Never had one since. Has been several years now. So, hearing this new diagnosis makes sense if I take my past into account, but I was somewhat surprised. My Neurologist is referring me to a specialist. Am waiting for ins to approve. Anyhow, this may be the answer that I (and many members of my family) have been waiting for all of these years. Time will tell. I am concerned that likely they will want to do surgery on me. I would love nothing more than to avoid surgery and medication.

I know that you guys cannot "prescribe" persay, but can you give me ideas of what to try? I have lived in Tulare County, Ca. All of my life and we have very poor air quality. Some of the worst in all of the U.S. so that most certainly contributes daily.

I am quite anxious for guidance outside Western medicine which I truly am not a fan of.

Please give some ideas if you would. I would really love love feedback. I know that whatever you suggest may or may not work for me, but I am willing to try.

Thanks for putting up with my rambling! This is so important to me as these migraines have turned my life completely upside down. I am debilitated a good portion of my life which causes me to have almost No life.

Please write me back as soon as you are able to.

Thanks so much!

Mindy"

09/15/2011: Francisca from Michelbach-le-bas, Alsace, France replies: "Hi Mindy, my migranes were due to hormones but I had them for more or less a week every months, so that was easier to determine. Still, I had them for maybe 10 years before I came to this conclusion, not the doctors. My solution back then was to take a pill that keeps the hormone levels always equal, Cerazette. Those one stops for 7 days seemed to cause my headaches. Your problem is different and of course, if you don't need the pill you shouldn't take it. I didn't need it back then either (I was slightly younger than you are now) but it helped me so much that I just had no choice. I hardly ever had a headache again and I am now 54. Maybe it would be an idea to think about hormones even if your migranes are not a product of the fluctuation due to the pill!"
09/15/2011: Debbie from Melbourne, Australia replies: "Hi Mindy, there is a Japanese Dr. who says that all diseases (including cancer) are caused by mineral deficiencies. For starters if I were you I would get some colloidal minerals.

Also for your anemia, Unsulphured Blackstrap Molasses has helped many people for that. If you look under the ailments section for each of your problems you should find a lot of help as well.

Migraines may be caused by a magnesium deficiency or even digestive problems. Probiotics, digestive enzymes, spirulina, chlorella are good for digestion."

09/15/2011: Jen from Bozeman, Mt, Us replies: "Hi Mindy, I completely understand what your going through with the migraines and sinusitis. I was diagnosed with Graves disease (hyperthyroid) a few years ago. I went to endo's and naturopaths trying to find andswer's to why I had the migraines and the disease. I too have suffered through many years of 3 to 4 sinus infections per year. A few years back I stopped having the actual "infections" and it was just a constant sinus pain and stuffiness that usually started my 3 per week migraines. I finally found a naturopath to help me. He discovered that I was gluten intolerant. Once I stopped eating gluten I stopped getting the migraines. If I eat one single crouton I will have a migraine within minutes. I was told that people who have autoimmune diseases (especially graves and hashimoto's thyroid diseases) tend to have gluten and other food sensativities. This makes total sense as the food excites your immune system to send out histamines. Your sinuses fill up, joints get achy, blood pressure goes up, and on and on. It has truly been amazing how removing that one substance from my diet has helped me. I still get the occasional headache but they are so different compared to my dibilatating migraines where life would stop for me. My sinuses still get stuffy in the Spring and right now in the Fall but this is due to my newly acquired allergies.

When I do get a migraine after the occasional Whoops!! I don't automatically reach for the pain pills or migraine meds anymore. I put a little cayenne pepper on the tip of my tongue for about 30 sec. Then I drink a glass of water with a tablespoon of apple cidar vinager as quickly as I can. But you have to do this as soon as you start to feel the beginning of a migraine coming. When I feel the nasuea and throbbing on the right side of my head I do this. Otherwise it is to far gone."

09/15/2011: Helpyourself from Houston, Texas replies: "For headaches and sinus try 20 drops of Tabasco in about 4 oz of water, swallow and do this twice a week for a few weeks, then use as needed. Would like to know if this works on your pre-meno. Tabasco only has three ingredients: vinegar, cayenne and salt. Everything in moderation :)"
09/15/2011: Bess from Calgary, Alberta, Canada replies: "Hi Mindy - For your migraines, try juicing (or blending, which is what we do) celery - search the Internet using keywords migraine celery and a lot of testimonies from various sources come up. My husband suffered from regular migraines and they have eased up greatly. He takes a blended greens drink (with lots of celery), magnesium (Natural Calm - 2 teaspoons at night) plus fish oil (2 teaspoons with dinner) and a B-Complex daily (50 mg). He also drinks about 2 litres of filtered water throughout the day (each litre has 1/4 teaspoon sea salt in it). All these things have helped him immensely. I hope they help you too. Best of luck! Bess"
09/15/2011: T from Houston, Usa replies: "What helps my migraines and chronic sinus issues is:

1) 2 tablespoon organic ACV in 8oz lukewarm water. 2-3 time daily between meals.

2) 10-12 oz juice (without pulp) celery, cucumbers, parsley, ginger.

3) Extra magnesium citrate days I do experience the symptoms.

4) Staying clear of all dairy products.

I hope this helps you as well."

04/05/2011: Debbi from Winston Salem, North Carolina, United States Of Am: "The first migraine I had was one month after I stopped smoking at age 33, in1990. It woke me up, I was blind and vomiting before my feet hit the floor. I was divorced with two children and this was very scarey for them. (Let me state: I smoked as a teenager but quit at 18 the day I found out I was pregnant with my first child and did not start back until age 28 due to stress from their Daddy's doodies. ) The migraines started coming once a month. I couldn't say if it was hormone related because I had to have a hysterectomy at 25. After many tests (the doc thought for sure I had a serious problem tumor etc.) and losing my sight days after a migraine in the middle of the grocery store, he put me on a Beta Blocker. He found no serious problem. He did say that quitting smoking could be the cause, it was rare, but it happens. I then developed side effects to the Beta Blocker and had to discontinue use. He said there was nothing else he could give me. Buddy, I went out and bought smokes right away. I would have eaten non-filter Camels if it would keep me from having those. He suggested I wait a year and try again. I did and exactly one month to the day "Migraine Hell". The day of my younger sister's wedding and I was maid of honor. Well this maid didn't feel so honorable and was in the hospital. I quit again in 1992, same story, different day. I just gave up.

Then in 2003 I called the doctor and he told me they had made sooo many advances in migraine treatments, he felt sure we could do this. I quit in April of 2003 and sure enough they started coming. Topamax worked for awhile but they had to keep upping the dose until they said I had to stop it. From their I went to feverfew, cool cayenne, Maxalt, Imitrex(which instead of making it a little more intense and then bringing down, it would just stay much more intense), Staydol spray, Frova, Botox (which worked the first time)you name it, I've had it. My doctor became ill and I was sent to another doctor in his practice who is supposed to be the go to guy for migraines in this city, not! When he did the injections of Botox, he did not do them the same and it was futile. I started back smoking after being quit for almost a year thinking that would stop them, NOT! I was then put on the dreaded Fentanyl Patch. I also have Fibromyalgia(which I have controlled beautifully with Malic Acid and Magnesium for years) both of those docs decided it would be a good idea. NOT! Don't ever go on that. I then graduated to Oxycotin not just for a migraine but a slow release 30mg tablet twice a day. I had to get away from this nut. I know this type of medication is not good for long term use.

I found a great doc, he used diet, vitamins and medication. Only it was short lived. His partner accepted a position at a hospital and bless his heart, he was 70, and decided it was time for him to retire. Funny thing is, the hospital his partner went to my doc used to be the head of neurology. He left there and started a clinic of his own because the medical profession in general does not recognize herbs and supplements.

Enough of my chatter about my story. I am now 54. I have one most days. I lost my job in 2004 due to migraines and have been on disability since 2008. Yes it should have been sooner but I was determined to beat this, still am. I am constantly researching for any new ideas, but darling they do not go away just because you turn 50. As a matter of fact, they can be caused by menopause. Which may be the case with me. I was told I would start it 10yrs earlier due to the hysterectomy. My mother went through it starting in her forties. You do the math.

Jesus has kept me going through all of this and believe me many times a guillotine has seemed inviting. He is where my strength comes from and I know without him I would not be hear any longer. I am learning much during this time and I fully believe that I will be healed and made whole!

God bless all of you and my prayers go out to you. Unless you experience a migraine, you really can't relate to what that person is going through. Your friends and family don't know what to do and it is painful for them to watch you in such pain and not be able to do anything about it. I am blessed to have a husband who knows the Lord. We were married in 2003. You can see our marriage has been more on the worse than the better side. We remain resolved that we will walk out on the other side of this soon. I am seeing glimmers of hope. A month ago, I walked out into the sun without shades. I figure right now, my future is so bright, I have to wear shades!

Keep smiling and moving! Debbi"

This protocol was used for migranes at first, until one day a client also reported that it cured her turbeculosis as well. From there they discovered that it works well on all degenerative disases if done properly: cancer, MS, diabetes, etc.

I suggest you look on youtube for more info, you can start here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X23o3RzJuPo

04/06/2011: Kolin from Nottingham, Notts, England replies: "Debbi, about migraines, I have had these all my life, I find the principal triggers are stress, often without realising the stress exists, they are often symptomatic of other ailments in the body, and of course, your brain is punishing you for removing its supply of nicotine! There are also dietary triggers, like sweet chocolate, old cheese, old fat on meat products, I find some degree of relief by drinking lots of filtered water when an attack occurs, and concentrating on things that divert attention from the migraine, the disturbed vision phase then moves away quicker, the headache is less, and I am left with the fragile brain feeling for all day. Vitamin C 500mg tablet often helps, listen to your body, learn your triggers, avoid these things, eat and drink well, dont despair, it can be beaten.

The leaves of the feverfew plant chopped and added to salad can help, grow your own! I do. I hope you find some of these things helpfull. Love from Colin."

05/26/2009: Cassi2 from Houston, Tx replies: "i feel sorry for you for these kind of headaches. my first question is have you figured out your triggers - mine are from hormones. i am currently seeing a chiropractor to get my neck fixed because that can be a huge cause of these headaches. also accupuncture has helped me in the past with the nausea and the headaches. but these work together for the best results. as for the ACV - there are different combinations and it depends on what your body can handle. i drink it twice a day with 2 teaspoons of ACV with 8-10 ounces of water and some local honey to sweeten. it will take time to cleanse your system. in the mean time i may suggest getting some sea-band wrist bands - they help with the nausea and are not drugs. i am hoping that the ACV will cleanse my body and put me in better internal balance."

My daughter reported that this remedy worked for her and I have used it myself with great results. I highly recommend headache sufferers try this. Better yet, drink it regularly to keep headaches away. Apple cider vinegar is very cleansing and tomato juice has vitamin C and other good properties."

SALT AND WATER, ACUPRESSURE

[YEA]  10/24/2008: Kendra from Haiku, HI: "I have been doing the "Your body's many cries for water" cure and it has helped lower the number of migraine attacks. The cure is drinking half your body weight in water adding some celtic salt to the water. I drink 5 12oz bottles of water a day with an eighth of a tsp. of sea salt in each bottle.

I have also learned a technique someone told me about that has helped stop migraine pain. You go inside your mouth with your index finger and massage the area of the jaw juncture. Your thumb massages outside and your index finger inside. When you find the point it will be very sore. I actually worked both sides (right and left) at the same time... and relief came in about ten minutes. I hope this helps other people and ends the suffering."

So far so good, but I have a concern. Does salt water causes the cells to die or osmosis. Can someone please help me to understand this?"

STEVIA

[YEA]  07/18/2011: Sonja from Greenwood, La: "About a year ago I stopped drinking anything with caffeine in it and quit eating chocolate as this was advice given in a book about preventing migraines. It helped my migraines not to be as long and as painful, but they came back none the less. I decided to stop using artificial sweetener in my lemonade I make every day and started using Stevia. One package every morning is all I use. I NEVER get migraines anymore as long as I faithfully use this natural sweetener. I have made the mistake of not using it for a couple of days and I wind up with the start of a migraine. But if I take some stevia, mix it in some water and drink it real fast before the migraine gets worse, it gets rid of it for me. I don't know what it is about this natural sweetener that has cured my migraines but I thought I'd share it with others just in case it can help them too. The stevia I get is the Wal-Mart brand that is in the vitamin section in a box."

If so, it was more likely that aspartame was causing your headaches - it is notarious for causing headaches and many other problems. Honey or stevia is a much safer sweetener."

[YEA]  11/14/2007: Lisa from St. Clair Shores, Michigan: "Just wanted to let people know if you have terrible migraines, consider your diet. I started a journal and realized I was drinking about 6-8 cups of green or white tea daily for the health benefits; when I stopped drinking it, my migraines disappeared instantly. I had suffered terribly with migraines 1-3 weekly for about 10 years! Hope this can help someone. Please share with anyone who gets a migraine."

SUPPLEMENTS

[YEA]  06/01/2009: Vi from Saskatoon, Canada: "PMS/Menstruation/Migraines:

I decided to try a new vitamin and supplement regime to get myself off of a very expensive migraine medication that I needed without fail on a monthly basis! However I've been surprised at the changes that went beyond just no migraines. I felt happy, no bloating, lots of energy, and once my period started, I didn't have the awful lower back pain (I actually cleaned the car and ran errands on the first day), and NO MIGRAINES! If you can believe it I didn't even need an Advil. I'm kind of amazed at this because I don't have a great diet, and don't get as much exercise as I should. Unfortunately it's hard to tell what exactly is doing the trick, but from research on this site and others I've started taking:
*SAMe - S-adenosylmethionine - 12 days before - noticeable improvement in mood
*Vitamin B6 - start 12 days before
*Vitamin B complex - daily
*probiotic - daily
* Vit E - daily
*Mg - daily
*Calcium - daily - at night - to help with sleep, and interferes with absorption of other vitamins
* 1 tbsp flax oil, split over 1.5 tsp am and pm or I feel nauseous
* Salmon oil - daily
* 2 tbs apple cider vinegar - one am and one pm - so far only the common brand but will try organic next time
* garlic tablets (improves circulation)

I've also been taking melatonin, starting 12 days before, but I suspect that it's actually making my sleep worse, though some sites say it can help with migraines."

Anyhow, I noticed it was right around the time of my cycle. I've seen all the specialist and tried some things. I really wanted something easy and natural, that I can take when I'm traveling. A Naturopathic medicine doctor , she suggested BUTTERBUR extract. I take a few when I feel the slight pressure in my head, and I know it is an early sign of migraine coming on. Anyhow, BUTTERBUR extract apparently increases circulation in the brain. This has been truly amazing! No more migraines! Hopefully, BUTTERBUR extract will help other be cured of migraines."

SWEDISH BITTERS, DIGESTIVE COMPLEX, VITAMIN B12

[YEA]  05/20/2010: Takoda from Xeresa, Spain: "10 years of weekly migraines gone with Swedish bitters, a digestive complex and sublingual vit B12.

I take 2 tablespoons of Swedish bitters at the slightest hint of migraine- sometimes several times a day(I take a bottle wherever I go).
Also I take 30 drops of a digestive complex which has artichoke(cynara scolymus),fumaria (fumaria officinalis), boldo(peumus boldus Mol) bitter chamomile, rosemary and artimisia absinthium). These I take after any cooked meal.

And I take 2 sublingual vit B12 a day, double the recommended dose.

I would recommend a big lettuce based raw vegetable salad everyday as one main meal and I believe that all the above would cure any migraine that is digestion related. (I feel my whole chemistry has changed)

Good luck."

VITAMIN B AND MAGNESIUM

[YEA]  07/31/2007: Chris from San Antonio, Texax: "My wife had suffered from debilitating migraines for years. The various presciptions the doctors prescribed did not work and had significant side effects. Finally, I did a ton of research and found that migraines are caused by a deficiency of Vitamin B and Magnesium. Since then, a good B-complex vitamin and magnesium supplement a day keeps the migraines away. They start up if she misses more than a day. Also, before she started this supplement, she ended up in the ER again with a massive migraine--I convinced and strong armed the doctor to administer IV magnesium (it couldn't hurt). Amazingly, her migraine was gone in 10 to 20 minutes. He had never seen this--my wife was amazed--she didn't know what the doctors did and didn't believe me until the doctor confirmed. Since then, she is very careful about taking her B-complex and magnesium supplements."

It's possible that several of the B-Complex vitamins act synergistically for specific problems, like migraines. Niacin (straight nicotinic acid form of B3) has evidence of working, and there is also evidence that B2 riboflavin can effect the same relief from migraines, but possibly via a different pathway.

Migraine Headache

Several studies indicate that people who get migraines may decrease the frequency and duration of the headache by taking riboflavin. One double-blind, placebo-controlled study showed that taking 400 mg of riboflavin a day cut the number of migraine attacks in half. The study did not compare riboflavin to conventional medications used to prevent migraines, however, so more research is needed.

The NIH US National Institute of Health has an entire Searchable huge database of studies done in institutes of all kinds from all over the world:
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/19649688

Studies on adults show the effectiveness and tolerability of riboflavin in migraine prevention, while data on children are scarce. This retrospective study reports on our experience of using riboflavin for migraine prophylaxis in 41 pediatric and adolescent patients, who received 200 or 400 mg/day single oral dose of riboflavin for 3, 4 or 6 months. Attack frequency and intensity decreased (P < 0.01) during treatment, and these results were confirmed during the follow-up. A large number of patients (77.1%) reported that abortive drugs were effective for controlling ictal(relating to seizure or convulsion) events. During the follow-up, 68.4% of cases had a 50% or greater reduction in frequency of attacks and 21.0% in intensity. Two patients had vomiting and increased appetite, respectively, most likely for causes unrelated to the use of riboflavin. In conclusion, riboflavin seems to be a well-tolerated, effective, and low-cost prophylactic treatment in children and adolescents suffering from migraine. On the linked NIH page at the top is the Search. Just use any string like 'migraines and Vitamin B2'."

WASHING YOUR FEET

[YEA]  05/17/2008: Kathy from Piqua, USA: "For migraine cure: Washing your feet always helps. Feet have accupressure points (energy centers). Also the muslims wash their feet 5 times a day. -(in Bible also). I believe washing feet helps to ground you. I also think migraines come on from being too psychic for too long. To solve problems we reach out for answers and need to return soul to body and ground. The sixth chakra needs to close.*** Also slowing down and living in the present grounds you."
