03/04/2011: Elise from Perth, Australia: "Hi there,

Since having my son, my labia minora grew significantly to the point that wearing underwear is uncomfortable. Doctors have told me that the only way to cure it is to get labiaplasty (cutting the labia off). This is a very painful proceedure, and really scares me.

I have even tried using hemroid cream for the loose skin, but nothing seems to work. I wondered if anyone knows of at home remedies to remove or shorten them. Even if it means I have to tie something around them till they fall off! I'm desparate!

Elise"

I had labial reduction surgery about 12 years ago. It was a short outpatient surgery (I was able to go home soon after that same day). It was not that painful as I recall. My only issue was that the antibiotics I took afterward caused a yeast infection, for which my doctor perscribed diflucan. But you can take natural things to prevent this, which I didn't at the time.

I am so glad I had it done, as I was so uncomfortable for many years before (since hitting puberty). Best wishes to you and hope it goes well."
