Natural Remedies to Help in the Recovery of A Heart Attack; Also, Heart Attack Prevention

"Acute myocardial infarction (AMI or MI), more commonly known as a heart attack, is a medical condition that occurs when the blood supply to a part of the heart is interrupted, most commonly due to rupture of a vulnerable plaque. The resulting ischemia or oxygen shortage, if left untreated for a sufficient period, can cause damage and/or death of heart tissue. It is a medical emergency, and the leading cause of death for both men and women all over the world. Important risk factors are a history of vascular disease such as atherosclerotic coronary heart disease and/or angina, a previous heart attack or stroke, any previous episodes of abnormal heart rhythms or syncope, older age%uFFFDespecially men over 40 and women over 50, smoking, excessive alcohol consumption, the abuse of certain drugs, high triglyceride levels, high LDL (low-density lipoprotein, bad cholesterol) and low HDL (high density lipoprotein, good cholesterol), diabetes, high blood pressure, obesity, and chronic high stress levels. Chronic kidney disease and a history of heart failure are also significant risk factors which may indicate a hightened disposition towards suffering a MI." (Wikipedia)

[YEA]  05/22/2007: Anita from Georgetown, Illinois writes: "Just wanted to pass along some exciting results with apple cider vinegar! On June 16, 2006 my 40 year old husband suffered a heart attack and fell into a coma. He remains in a nursing home at this time with brain damage. He has a trach and a feeding tube. For the first 6 months he was back and forth between the hospital and nursing home about every 10 days. He would get pneumonia, MRSA, UTI's and numerous other infections. He was on the maximum antibiotics that Doctors could prescribe and I knew something had to change! In January 2007 I started adding a mixture of Bragg apple cider vinegar, manuka honey & freshly minced garlic to his feeding tube (about 1/4 cup each day). Wow - the results were FANTASTIC! It has now been 5 months and he has been COMPLETELY infection free - no hospitalizations at all! His blood work and urine tests all come back with excellent results! I am thankful to God that he has supplied everything we need in nature to heal our bodies! I hope this info will be helpful to others as well. This is the recipe that I mix each week. One cup Bragg apple cider vinegar, one cup manuka honey and 8 cloves minced garlic. Put all ingredients in a blender for one minute and store in a glass pitcher in the refrigerator. I give him 1/4 cup each day and flush with 2 oz. water. Please email me and I'll be glad to respond to any questions."

[YEA]  04/25/2011: Paul from Swatara, Minnesota writes: "I had a heart attack on 1/27/2008 in the early hours which is typical as is having a stroke or heart attack in cold climates more often. I woke up soaking wet with pain in my chest and left wrist, it didn't take long to realize what was going on. I got online and checked in here to see what other people did for a heart attack and found cayenne was the key.

So I took a teaspoon of cayenne pepper in a glass of room temp. Water (use warm water if you can) and around 5 minutes later I took it again. I then went and took a shower, got dressed and woke my wife up about 3 hours after I woke up. We then drove to the hospital where I got my only helicopter ride, they were acting like it was a big deal and time was of the essence but I felt otherwise. Anyway after a week in the hospital I realized I could of just stayed home. I had no surgery, no stents put in and am on no drugs for proffit. We take vitamins, fish oil, iodine/iodide, use full spectrum salt and eat organic whenever possible. I have never suffered from one episode of angina either. I also had low cholesteral which most heart attack victims have so DO NOT buy into you needing statins, they put me on them for three days till I got home and threw them in the trash. They will damage your body and not help you live one day longer.

God bless you all

[YEA]  04/08/2008: Doris from Santa Ana, CA USA writes: "Had 2 slight heart attacks age 28 and 32. Scary one at age 34. Always felt so frail, tho ok health but high stress work and poor diet-sooo much coffee. At 38 yrs was electrocuted by faulty computer eqpmt, lost left-side arm use 1 and half to 2 yrs. During that 1 and half, at about 1 yr, strain from the injury caused a 30-second stroke. I watch clock, fully mentally ok, but was physically immobile entire time, couldn't breath, no heartbeat, nothing. Then it just stopped. I was SO weak always from then on. 3 yrs later married, had child, was always terribly tired. Read in heart surgery book about cayenne being able to stop even a heart attack while in progress. I take a pinch (1/4 tsp) cayenne in 4oz water 2 times wkly. Feel better with 5 minutes - energy stamina breathing is easier, circulation feels ramped up to normal. Still tire, not not as without cayenne. Never regained full strength or mobility from electr. injury but dexterity in fingers did return. Strength is still 3lbs., Best, not nearly so drag-out tired. Cayenne is great - in tomato juice or water. Only a pinch is needed. In V8 or regular tomato juice, cayenne goes easy. I put cayenne on hard boiled eggs, hot flavor hides well in grape or orange juice too. Has improved my cholesterol too."

[YEA]  11/07/2006: Lynette from Edwardsville, IL writes: "For the past year, I have been suffering from severe headaches, my heart would beat extremely fast just from standing up, and dizziness. I knew that it was serious when my head was hurting so bad one day that I went to lie down and woke up almost 15 hours later. I found this website while looking for a cure for gout for someone else. I sent them the information and then began to read the other parts of this site. After my reading, I wrote out a list and I went to the health food store immediately after work. I have been taking the mixture of the water with ACV, liquid garlic, cayenne pepper and blackstrap molasses for a week now. For the first time in a year, I am feeling so much better. My heart rate has slowed. My headaches are gone. I am using the bathroom on a regular basis now and I am not sleepy all of the time. I am also taking multi-vitamins. Thank you for this wonderful website!"

I searched the internet and came across your site. Thank you for an amazing treasure of cures and remedies. I used 1 teaspoon of cayenne pepper and a tablespoon or two of honey in rather large glass of boiling water. I found the taste really delicious! I swallowed crushed clove garlic with this drink and truly my heart settled almost instantly and my BP is normal! To all heart sufferers, this is an amazing remedy to try, you only benefit from it. I intend having this daily probably for the rest of my life!"

But after feeling ache and heaviness in my chest, I wanted to try the cayenne pepper remedy. So I mixed 1/2 teaspoon of crushed pepper with 2 tablespoons of applesauce. I also had a glass of V8 fusion handy with a garlic pill. The pepper and applesauce was very easy to swallow. And any spicy taste was washed away quickly with the _____ [tomato juice]; which I had planned to drink anyway with my garlic pill."

All I'm doing is taking cinnamon and honey and herbs for my lungs- should I be doing something different now that I have a valve problem? Should I go back to using apply cider vinegar again? MULTIPLE REMEDIES

03/05/2010: Robert from Martinez, Ca, Usa writes: "Heart attacks

Disclaimer of course applies to seek allopathic treatment. A clinician M.D. whose name escapes me once stated in an interview & used the word 'cure', that to relieve angina take the following formula: E=MC2

E= double the largest dose of off the shelf Vit E(natural). M=magnesium & dbl avail dosage as above using mag citrate, malate, etc(not oxide),C2=carnitine,& CoQ10,as Ubiquinol, & adding Taurine. This formula should relieve the pain in a short time, & it is only used once.

For general daily maintenance take 2 tsp turmeric & 1/2 tsp of cayenne which potentizes the turmeric & mix both with a fat as tumreric needs fat for absorption. This can be coconut milk, olive oil, etc. If the cayenne heat is too much, eat an apple or take apple juice. The turmeric & cayenne is taken daily & will act as 'Roto-Router' for the cardiovascular system. Herbally, I like to use hawthorne berries which is a very good heart tonic as a tea or extract. Cheers!"

12/01/2011: Jerry from Seal Beach, Ca replies: "From my long experience with hawthorn, I am going to guess that alcohol-free liquid hawthorn extract will slowly unclog the blockage, provided that she does not eat any appreciable volume of fats. The hawthorn should be taken in fairly high dosage. It takes its time but it is thorough. About an inch of eye dropper per dose. I suspect you can get it at any large health food store.

Nowadays they use hawthorn berry, leaf, and flower, instead of hawthorn berry. It's fine. Also tea made from hawthorn berries is a way to go. About a heaping teaspoon. Fill a cup with boiling water, drop in the hawthorn, and let it steep ten minutes before drinking. Easiest if you use the hawthorn in a strainer, so you can remove it after ten minutes. Three cups of hawthorn tea a day."

11/28/2011: D. from Vancouver, Canada writes: "Hi Ted, Hi EC,

First of all, I don't know how to thank you for this invaluable site, like everyone, it's been a blessing since I've found your site few years ago.

My dad had an infarct-heart attack last year and has been put on couple of dangerous drugs such as Crestor, Lipitor, Metropolol, Romidirpil, etc and I start seeing these lawsuit action announced on CNN explaining how so many people got ALS or Kidney Failure and basically how they start dying in the aftermath.

I've found couple of good advices like the one of Dr. Mercola to instantly start taking CoEnzyme Q10 to avoid depleting the body's reserve but now since I'm moving with my dad in the Caribbean, I'm looking forward to transition him on a natural diet to correct everything.

What should be the protocol? Should it be gradual? He's alreayd eating full garlic, turmeric, ginger, gingko, eat his oatmeal in the morning, Omega3 & Omega 6, supplement of B12 and so on, and he eat a lot of vegetables and fish, any thoughts ?

Am I missing something? Please let me know; he's my beloved Dad and I want him to be able to move forward back to optimal health! Thank you and God bless you all! D."

11/28/2011: Debbie from Melbourne, Australia replies: "Magnesium is something that is missing from your list. Magnesium is needed by the heart to keep the arteries relaxed. A deficiency will contract the heart muscles and even cause spasms that lead to heart attack.

Transdermal magnesium (through the skin) is a quicker way to get magnesium into the body. Magnesiumforlife.com is a great website for more info, also the magnesium section on this website.

Also cayenne pepper is a must to take regularly."

12/01/2011: Jerry from Seal Beach, Ca replies: "For heart problems I would add hawthorn tea (one heaping teaspoonful of hawthorn berries into a cup of water just boiled, leave for ten minutes, then withdraw) three times a day, or alcohol-free hawthorn extract, about an inch to 1-1/2 inches three times a day in the eye dropper in the bottle. A good herb store should have both. Expect slow but thorough results."
12/02/2011: Timh from Louisville, Usa replies: "During an acute phase of aplastic anemia I had enough energy to visit my parents but not enough to get back home, until I remembered I had saved one 500mg capsule L-Carnitine in my carry-on. I took the C, sat on the sofa about 15 min, got up and made it home (which included a long flight of steps); personally validating the efficacy of this nutrient for heart conditions. A few yrs prior I was suffering from liver/gallbladder problems (later diagnosed by a chiropractor using kenesthesiology). I was working the hard labor fields the best I could, but my heart was hurting and beating erratically. I read about magnesium, tried it and it helped but I was still suffering and fearing a heart attack. I read about CoQ10, tried it with profound results; I could work again; personally validating the efficacy of this nutrient for heart conditions."

whole grains, fruits, vegetables, good wholesome meats like fish, chicken, organic beef. examine any packaged foods for ingrediants that can be harmful by researching them online. the fda is allowing small amounts of cancer causing ingrediants to be put in foods and I'm sure they cause other problems too, heart disease, diabetes, ect. use good oils, extra virgin olive oil, safflower, ect, not soybean, corn, cottonseed. eliminate pork from your diet, do your research online and you will find out the diseases that this animal carries. eat lots of vegetables in the form of big delicious salads filled with wholesome vegetables, nuts, cheeses, healthy salad dressings.

buy yourself a _____ [blender] and yogurt maker. the ____ you can buy on ebay and the yogurt maker you can buy on amazon. with these you can make wonderful green smoothies filled with things like spinach, celery, fruit and whatever else you would like to put in it and with the yogurt maker you can make your own yogurt and make delicious fruit smoothies that will satisfy your sweet tooth and give you wonderful probiotics, I buy frozen fruit for them from the grocery.

I am speaking from experience as both my husband and I have been struggling with our health and this is what is helping heal us."

Cayenne

"The best herb to help handle any heart or circulatory problem is cayenne. Also known as Capsicum, the botanical name being Capsicum frutescens. Cayenne is the species of capsicum that is used medicinally for its stimulant and antiseptic actions, as well as its digestive properties.

Internally, cayenne stimulates the heart, regulating the blood flow and strengthening the arteries and capillaries. If you want to get your blood flowing, and your face red with blood take cayenne tincture. It will not only get the blood pumped around your body, but it will strengthen your heart and clear your arteries. Cayenne can also be used externally for poor circulation and on unbroken chilblains, Cayenne is a wonderful herb."
