Emphysema Remedies

"Emphysema is a chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), formerly termed a chronic obstructive lung disease (COLD). It is often caused by exposure to toxic chemicals or long-term exposure to tobacco smoke.

Emphysema is caused by loss of elasticity (increased compliance) of the lung tissue, from destruction of structures supporting the alveoli, and destruction of capillaries feeding the alveoli. Thus the small airways collapse during exhalation, although alveolar collapsibility has increased. This impedes airflow and traps air in the lungs, as with other obstructive lung diseases. Symptoms include shortness of breath on exertion and later at rest, hyperventilation, and an expanded chest.

Mild emphysema sufferers often maintain perfect blood oxygen levels by hyperventilating, and so are sometimes called "pink puffers". By contrast, sufferers of chronic bronchitis (another COPD disorder) are called "blue bloaters" because they have cyanosis (inadequate oxygen) due to an almost normal ventilatory drive caused by decreased sensitivity to carbon dioxide secondary to chronic hypercapnia. But any COPD disease results in hypoxaemia (decreased blood partial pressure of oxygen) and hypercapnia (increased blood partial pressure of carbon dioxide)." (Wikipedia)

Cayenne is one of my favorate herbs for myself and my clients. I had prostate cancer 18 years ago and I cured it naturally using herbs, cleansing and diet only. For the cancer I used the John Ray Christopher method of cayenne tea with a teaspoon of cayenne pepper in warm water 3 times daily. After recovering from pneumonia, I continued to have chronic lung congestion. Coincidentally, my son in Texas mentioned a salsa recipe he'd made and suggested I give it a try. He insisted I use fresh cilantro for superior taste. Well, within 5 minutes of making and sampling the salsa, I coughed up an enormous amount of thick phlegm and breathed easier for the rest of the night. By morning, some sleep congestion returned. I made eggs, and since I had fresh cilantro left over from the salsa, I put it on the eggs. Once again, the congestion cleared, with lots of phlegm purged. All within 5-10 minutes of eating the cilantro.

Thinking maybe I had imagined the results, I went a week without trying the cilantro again. The congestion came back. I ate cilantro again, and the phlegm cleared again. I've repeated that test many times since then, and each time cilantro has proven to be my hero. My aunt, who has emphysema (COPD), tried it and got similar good results.
My lung doctor, originally from India, swears by cilantro (and coriander, which includes the whole plant, not just the leaves). The last time I went for a checkup, he declared that my lungs were completely clear and told me to keep eating cilantro.

So now I cook with cilantro several times a week, no matter what. And whenever I travel, I take a small bottle of dried cilantro to sprinkle on my food."

01/18/2010: Jack from Toledo, Ohio replies: "I only use DMSO on the "outside of my skin" in cases where I want a specific med to go right to the internal spot I need it to be. For example, say its joint pain med or cream, I apply the cream to the spot on my skin above the spot where the pain is, THEN ADD THE DMSO ON TOP OF IT. This is like using a hypo to inject the painkiller directly and quickly into the pain area. This how DMSO WORKS!"

INTO A GALLON POT, PUT THE SEED PODS (TOPS) OF 6 "GREAT MULLEIN" PLANT, BRING TO A BOIL, ADD 3 TBLS OF POWERED "LOBELIA", AND ALSO "HYSSOP" 1 OZ OF WHITE APPLE CIDER VINEGAR, 2 TBLS OF POWDERED CAYENNE RED PEPPER. KEEP BOILING UNTIL ABOUT A PINT OF WATER HAS BOILED OFF, (IT WILL TURN DARK OR REDDISH LIKE COFFEE). LET COOL UNTIL YOU CAN STRAIN (I USED A NYLON STOCKING). I found the leaves, but not the seed pods. Does anyone know where I can buy them, or if I can use the crushed leaves in the tea, and how much I would use? Please help me, my father-in-law has really bad Emphysema."

06/22/2009: K from Troy, MI replies: "Hi, I am not sure if this is exactly what you are trying to find, but Mountain Rose Herbs carries mullein seeds (link below), they also have the dried flowers and leaves. I have never purchase these particular items from them, but my experience buying other products has been a good one. Whole Foods Market also has mullein (in the loose tea and herbs section, near the vitamins), I am not sure if they carry the seeds though. I hope this helps.

I think the mullein plant grows quite rampantly in most of the United States, so why don't you either get you a good book on identifying herbal plants or go on line to see if you can't find a picture of it.

You can usually spot it at roadsides as you drive along the rural areas roads. Just learn to identify them by the roadside, but take a short hike in the woodland areas to pick those seed pods which should be ready to pick in the next couple of months. The reason to not gather them from the roadside, is you don't want all the pollution they absorb from the automobile exhausts fumes. Seed pods mean exactly what it says. It is the pods containing the seeds and these will be found on the mullein plant on the tall stalk from the central part of the plant that bloomed and forms the seeds after the blooms."

01/18/2010: Jack from Toledo, Ohio replies: "HELLO JAMI FROM ADRAIN MICH; The "seeds" are not the part of the plant used "ITS THE ENTIRE "SEED POD" OR "TOPS OF THE GREAT MULLEIN PLANT which in the latter fall and winter months looks like a long black stick along highways or RR tracks,usually the leave's at the bottom will be dried and brown and at times you'll see some mint green leaves at the bottom of the plant which feels fuzzy like velvet,the seeds them selves can be transplanted most anywhere but they like well drained areas, and they only blossom in the 2nd season.They then grow anywhere from 3-6 feet or even more in some states,. and the seeds are about this size Jami ( . )

Just look up "pictures of Great Mullein plants" I break off the "SEED PODS" or just under the area where the flowers started growing and use the "ENTIRE POD OR TOP OF THE PLANT WHERE THE FLOWERS "HAD BEEN"

When the terriable outbreak of Tuburculossis(sp?) in Ireland around 1900, Great Mullein was the primary way they used to clear the lungs of "TB" made into a tea,"But I've added more to it and it "WORKS EXCEEDINGLY WELL, JUST ASK SHARON S FROM CONN.

She startted taking my formula in June of 2008 I believe? She told me her Dr.told her "Your lungs are clear, and your breathing is fine "!!

I haven't made the remedy for emphysema, but I can tell you that I have never seen more than one seed pod on a mullein plant. Therefore, seed pods from 6 great mullein plants would be just what it says - 6 seed pods (l from each of 6 different plants)."

I contacted you about a year ago after reading all the testimonials from people you have helped with your formula. You had agreed to make a kit up for me, and I was going to send you the money for preparing it. Next thing I know the computer crashed, and I lost all your information, and for the life of me I could not find the site again. Now a year later, and still doing Google searches trying to find Jack and truck driver and expectorant formula, and heaven knows what else, this site "magically" appeared on the screen. If you could tell me where to send the payment (money order, cashier's check, traveler's check, personal check, whatever) I would be more than happy to do so. I'm really optimistic about health improvements that I'll experience as a result of using your formula. It will mean a whole new way of life again. I will anxiously await your reply. I have never been a smoker but I felt that I should pass this on to you in case you don't know this. Did you know that niacin and nicotine are chemically linked? Niacin used to be called nicotinic acid. There are niacin receptors in the brain and when you quit, they feel deprived from what they were tricked into believing was a nutrient. You can use niacin to help you get past the craving for the nicotine. I have heard this several times but as I said, I am not a smoker so I don't know what that addiction is like. There are also niacin rich foods that you could eat and perhaps that would help too. Olives, cabbage, lettuce, carrots, brewer's yeast, apricots, to name a few. Anyway, I thought this info was worth passing on.

I'd been going through bad infection since the end of this past January. Started with a very bad abscessed tooth that blew up my face. Took 2 weeks treating holistically to get it down. Got about a week break, then it moved to the other side of my face. Took only 4-5 days to get that controlled. Finally went to the dentist & he put me on antibiotics before he'll pull my teeth. Started that & went into sinusitis, a virus? I'm 60 years old & Wednesday night I had some kind of full blown asthma/bronchitis attack? Never happened before. My neighbor was thankfully there & hit me with an inhaler. I thought I was going to die. It was very scary. My lungs completely shut down! Today my chest was so tight I could hardly move, wasn't sure what to do but pray. Holy Spirit had me remember your recipe I had once read on EC. I had all the herbs, including the Mullein tops I harvested last summer. I whipped up a batch & I am completely cleared up tonight & have the strength to write to let you & everyone know, It Worked! Q. 3, I'm keeping the batch #1 left over herbs in my frig along with the batch of medicine I made, any other comments? How long does your batch stay potent & safe to use?
