[YEA]  Jane from Poulsbo writes: "Applying powdered cayenne to a wound stops the bleeding within minutes! I've read that you can also take it to treat internal bleeding. I think the recipe is 1/4 teaspoon in a glass of tomato juice."

EC: Chopped off part of your finger? Sometimes stitches are a better idea than cayenne!!

[YEA]  11/03/2009: Amydearmas from Las Vegas, Nv replies: "Update: My finger stopped bleeding about 10 minutes after the cayenne. The wound sort of "seared" shut. I kept it clean, changed my bandages daily and I actually healed in a week. My finger nail has not returned yet, but the healing was really amazing! The finger healed to normal! I also applied ozonated olive oil. I highly recommend the cayenne- but be prepared for the burning if it's a bad cut."

[YEA]  01/03/2012: Dean from Los Angeles, California replies: "2 weeks ago I cut my middle finger right in the inside of my middle digit. It was very deep and bleed for over 24 hours. I knew I didn't hit a main artery but it was just flowing out at a steady rate not squirting. I wrapped it up with some non-stick gauze and tape and the next morning I washed off most of the blood and put some coconut oil over the wound, I wasn't too sure if it would help due to the fact that blood was till coming out of the cut but not as fast as the night before. I took off the bandage again that night and the bleeding has stopped so I put some ACV on a paper towel and wiped my finger down and put the coconut oil back on the wound and continued to change the bandage and reapply the coconut oil for the next 3 days.

On the 4th day I noticed the wound had closed with no sign of infection. I stopped wearing the bandage and just switched to a large athletic band aid and now 10 days later it is completely healed up with no infection. I have never used coconut oil on a cut before but it did speed up the healing process and I believe kept it free of infection. I get cuts quite a bit (I work with glass) so I have a good idea of how long a deep cut takes to heal and this time by using the coconut oil it cut down the healing time by at least half."

[YEA]  09/13/2011: Marcjnr from Wellington, New Zealand writes: "My husband had a knee replacement and his wound had become swollen and red on the second week. The wound looked like it was going to burst because of the swelling and he was becoming ill as it had obviously become infected. One morning, before we decided to seek medical advise, I had some comfrey growing in the backyard, so I thought I'd give that a try. I picked a handful of the leaves and grinded them with water to make a thick paste. I applied this to his wound and covered it with gauze and left it on all day. When I came home in the evening, my husband asked me to remove the gauze as his wound was so itchy, but it felt a lot better.

I removed the gauze and was surprised to see the wound had completely healed up, the swelling had gone down considerably and the comfrey paste had become hard and dry that I had to peel some of it off his leg. After two days of applying this in the morning, his infection was gone. Great plant to have in the garden as it heals the body extremely well. I use it now for every injury, from cuts and bruises and eat a leaf at least 3 times a week to keep my asthma at bay."

[YEA]  11/09/2007: Joyce from Joelton, Tn. writes: "Epsom salts will pull out infection from wounds. I mixed it about 1/2 cup to 1 quart of hot water. Submerge infected area in solution 4 times a day. If unable to submerge area, just use washcloth to dip in solution and apply over infected are (hot compress method) 4 times a day. I have seen this cure infection after red streak was running up arm (indicative of blood poisoning). No antibiotics were needed. I have many times bathed in 1-2 cups epsom salts in hot bath when muscles or nerves said "help". You really feel relaxed. I have used a saturated solution of ACV - epsom salts to clear up deep infected ulcers in scalp. No antibiotics were needed. Swab ulcers."

GARLIC-INFUSED YOGURT

YEA

[YEA]  07/13/2008: Carra from San Diego, California writes: "I have had two startling healing successes using fresh plain yoghurt with active cultures infused with fresh raw garlic and I wanted to share this.

Recently I had a tooth unexpectedly abcess so swiftly that my jaw swelled overnight and became extremely painful. I had transportation and schduling problems and couldn't get into a dentist, didn't know what to do. Until I re-red an old herbal of mine that listed clinical studies on the antibiotic prpperties of fresh garlic on wounds and infections. I then went on the internet for more current information.
I had a container of fresh, plain yoghurt with probiotics /active cultures and I had cloves of fresh garlic on hand. I decided to peel and slice several cloves of garlic and infuse the yoghurt with the garlic as a means to get fresh garlic into my system and directly on the affected tooth as well. My decision to use the fresh yoghurt as a medium for the garlic was based in the research that has sown raw garlic to be supportive of friendly bacteria and to target harmful ones. I figured that the yoghurt's having the probiotics would support my system and help cushion the shock of my suddenly ingesting the raw garlic.

I started eating the strongly-inflused yoghurt before I went to bed that night and then again when I woke up the next morning. My stunned family and I watched as the swelling in my jaw decreased almost on the hour. Within in 24 hours after starting the garlic-infused yoghurt my jaw was back to normal and I had no tooth pain.

My second occasion to turn to garlic-infused yoghurt occured several moths later.

When a mis-step sent me sprawling and I caught the corner of a concrete step on my right shin I found another use for garlic-infused yoghurt that was equally amazing.

In the process of falling and trying to catch myself I had one small gouge in my right shin right beside a very deep gouge that took out several layers of skin-- through a boot no less.

I tried the topical antibiotic ointments that are typically recommended on gauze as the doctor recommended and had a painful mess.

Following traditional doctor's orders I either had a gash that wouldn't close or a bandage painfully stuck to the wound. In desperation one night I soaked a painfully stuck and encrusted gandage in garlic-infused yoghurt before I went to bed. lightly covering it with a thin layer of more gauze.

The next day when I went to tend the wound the garlic-infused bandage had painlessly released. I began to put the garlic-infused yoghurt on fresh clean gauze and continued to tape around the bandage. Not only did the bandages never stick -- the yoghurt dries and released apinlessly--- but the rate of healing and cell regeneration was astounding.

I had no stitches and I have no scar today.

I was pleased by the way the wound stayed clean, and healed so rapidly.

Since I have never heard of anyone using actife culture yogurt infused with fresh garlic before this, I thought I would share my experiences in case this remedy can open the doors for healing for others.

Within the past two days I have just begun the oil-pulling and I plan to try the apple cider vinegar remedy -- I hope to be writing again with successes there as well.

Thank you for all the work you do and for the doors of healing you are opening to all of us!"

GENERAL FEEDBACK

04/17/2011: Billy from Dundee, Scotland writes: "Hi.

Im involved in sports, boxing etc. Often it is neccecery to treat cuts with emergency remedies (such as packing them with Vasaline to stop bleeding). I was wondering if using ICE GEL would be a better option as it would also support vaso-constriction due to the cold element. Would this work? Or is the 'cold' sensation merely chemical and not really an option. any feedback on this would be great.

[YEA]  05/22/2009: Brandy from Troy, MI writes: "I have found the best remedy for open lesions - Manuka honey. I have had two small lesions open up in the last few days - probably from the heat and greater activity level from me. I started putting the honey on the cleanesed area two days ago and I am already seeing major improvement. One is almost all the way closed, with no more discharge. Another is almost all the way closed with very little discharge. I have never had one of these clear up so fast. This is miracle honey - I keep calling it magic honey. Expensive, but the jar will last me forever and the freedom from bandages and smell is totally worth it!!"

06/27/2008: Linda from New Port Richey, FL writes: "Manuka Honey from New Zealand. My son, Brad, had a lymph node removed from behind his heart. There was a tube inserted in his lung so it wouldn't collapse. When the tube was removed the would care team at the childrens hospital was he was being treated for Hodgkins tried everything to close the hole where the tube came out. One day a young doctor which was not part of the wound team told us that Manuka Honey was used at this hospital but because it was termed alternative they discontinued using it. At that time I had to order it from England. It comes in the kind you eat and the medicinal kind. I applied it to Brad's wound and the next day it had closed up by 50%. In a week it was completely. Just any honey will not work. If you investigate Manuka Honey you will find that honey is rated by a IMP factor and Manuka is the highest. Try it, it works. Linda Brads Ma and Champion"

[YEA]  02/23/2008: Omar from Khobar, Saudi Arabia writes: "Hello, My name is Omar, and I am from Saudi Arabia. First of all I'd like to express my appreciation for such valuable rich site. What I want to share with you is about using honey on the skin of a diabetic. As you know, an injury could be very fatal for a diabetic. My father developed a very late stage of diabetes. Once he had an injury in his hand, and the wound developed very badly. The doctor put him under a very strict diet with daily dressing for the wound, by water and salt. We know from our relegion that Honey is a cure, in general, and for specific health problems like dierea. So we tried to apply honey, after washing the wound and surrounding area with water and salt, on the wound(externally on the skin) that had 1.5 cm height full of buzz. We did this every day, continously for 10 or 15 days. We were amazed to see the wound noticably decreased in height and buzz material started to disappear from the first day of application. The wound was completely healed with no scars or a trace that there was a wound in that area.Thank you for readig and hope this was useful."

It proceded to open up, drain and cause considerable pain and redness accross almost the entire breast. The cream the Dr. gave me seemed to keep the area too moist and it kept oozing. After talking and research I decided to try honey. The area which had started to look like a diabetic ulcer or bedsore, looked better the next morning , I continued to use about 1/4 tsp of raw honey on a cotton pad, I just placed it so the honey would be sure to get completely into the wound. It has been a little over a week and my Dr. was amazed at how well it is now healing."

[YEA]  03/05/2008: Michelle from West Palm Beach, Florida writes: "I couldn't find this one so here goes. Best for kids, as it helps whatever is causing the fever, especially virus. Two drops of Oreganol Oil, on each foot rub it in and fever will break in a matter of five (5) minutes. I have four kids and have used this on ALL of them. It has absolutely always worked.

You can rub a few drops on chest for congestion or sinus trouble too. I have used two drops behind ear (rub all around area) for curing ear infections, ear pain, etc.

You can't beat it for cuts, they will never get infected! Best for little finger cuts as they are hard to keep clean! Also cures toenail fungus, especially seriously infected ones, drop several drops around nail bed, under nail, and around affected toe, with in hours, the pain is gone! Three times a day and the toe infection will be gone in a few days. My friend 6'11" male, was about to go to the ER when I told him to try this, he could barely walk! It was easy to walk in a matter of hours and completely cured in a few days! Three times a day several drops. Epsom salt soaks help to draw out infection and help pain too.

The handlebar, on which my face hit, did not have a protective grip and the metal sliced my cheek completely. The wound was sutured and subsequently became infected. My mother applied plantain leaves to my swollen, red, painful wound. Within hours, yellow purulent drainage poured out of my cheek wound. The relieve and healing were rapid. It's been a long time, but I think I was better in two days, no antibiotics. My mother calles them pig leaves and learned of them from her Lithuanian mother. (if i don't have a rubber band exactly the right size i cut it and make a knot or go around 2 times the importance is to slow down the circulation just a BIT and not to much). hoping that it will help as it is helping me. PEACE!"
06/23/2010: Isabelle from Garden Grove, Ca Usa replies: "i apologize, i was not enough precise as where on the finger you put the rubber band; it has to look like you wear a ring, the closest to your palm. PEACE"

[YEA]  11/28/2008: Juanita from N. O., La. USA writes: "For years I have used sugar (straight out of the sugar bowl) mixed in a bit of antibiotic ointment to make a paste and applied it on a bandage to cure cuts... The sugar will not allow bacteria to grow... and will heal the cut twice as fast! When I was a kid (40 years ago) my grandmother used to make a paste of sugar, shaved pure Octogen soap (do they still sell it?) and a few drops of Mineral Spirits and apply that mix on a bandage to treat deep cuts and it worked like a miracle!

I modified grams recipe using the antibiotic ointment and it seems to work as well...

Sugar can also be used to treat bedsores with amazing results... I used it to cure my sisters bedsore after she suffered a stroke and was bedridden for 4 months... the doctors in the hospital tried to treat it unsuccessfully for 6 weeks! They would not allow me to put the suger mix on it at all in the hospital. When she was released, I used the sugar mix and it was well in a little over a week! Her doctor was very surprised at that result!

Thanks for this lovely site and to all those who contribute to the info! God bless...

Anyway, he applied a drop of tea tree and a drop of lavender, neat, to the wound twice daily and kept it clean, dry, and bandaged. He would air it out a bit once a day for a few minutes.
