Cure Chronic Fatigue Syndrome

"Chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS) is one of several names given to a poorly understood, variably debilitating disorder of uncertain cause/causes. Based on a 1999 study of adults in the United States, CFS is thought to affect approximately 4 per 1,000 adults. For unknown reasons, CFS occurs more often in women, and adults in their 40s and 50s. The illness is estimated to be less prevalent in children and adolescents, but study results vary as to the degree.

CFS often manifests with widespread myalgia and arthralgia, cognitive difficulties, chronic mental and physical exhaustion, often severe, and other characteristic symptoms in a previously healthy and active person. Despite promising avenues of research, there remains no assay or pathological finding which is widely accepted to be diagnostic of CFS. It remains a diagnosis of exclusion based largely on patient history and symptomatic criteria, although a number of tests can aid diagnosis. Whereas there is agreement on the genuine threat to health, happiness, and productivity posed by CFS, various physicians' groups, researchers, and patient activists champion very different nomenclature, diagnostic criteria, etiologic hypotheses, and treatments, resulting in controversy about nearly all aspects of the disorder. Even the term chronic fatigue syndrome is controversial because a large part of the patient community believes the name trivializes the illness." (Wikipedia)

CHRONIC FLUORIDE POISONING LINK

Earth Clinic writes: "Please make sure you read Jason Uttley's important article on Chronic Fluoride Poisoning. This article pinpoints fluoride as a very likely cause of Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue. A MUST READ!"

04/07/2010: Faithinhealing from Forest Park, Ohio, Usa replies: "Hello, I believe that you are onto something about the fluoride poisoning and chronic fatigue syndrome. At the same time that I became ill, I started noticing spots on my daughters teeth. Unfortunately, I have not only dealt with chronic fatigue but extreme mood swings, mental illness, etc., I think all a result of fluoride poisoning.

I started a detox recently and started drinking distilled water, immediately within days I felt better on the distilled water. I then started to detox my body using kelp and that has helped my body too.

I also have added the alkalyzing protocols of Teds's, adding baking soda to my acv or lemon twice a day and that has even further helped the chronic fatigue.

I'm in the process of getting a filtering system put into my home, I would recommend others look into this! This fluroide is killing people and the cities keep adding it back to the water, I don't understand it!"
04/03/2011: Ellen from Denton, Tx replies: "IMHO there are several holes in the fluoride connection logic. For me personally, I've known about the dangers of fluoride for years and avoided it persistently. I have done detoxes, too. I still have CFS but am responding quite well to anti-viral, antibacterial treatment and megadoses of vitamin C via IV. Also, CFS/fibromyalgia has been around for centuries. Fluoride water treatment, toothpastes, and medication haven't. If anybody would address these issues I would be more than happy to change my mind."
05/04/2011: Andrea C from Cardiff, Wales replies: "Fluoride is hidden in medications and also "natural health products" vits, supplements, and even if you eat organic produce its probably been watered in fluorieded water! And then washed in fluorided water! We have to be ever vigilant, this is allowed by law and doesn't have to be printed as a health warning. Then theres the packaging issuse, how many people are aware that most organic ready prepeared veg or salad, has been washed in chlorine bleach and of course flourided tap water! I am talking from experience, because of nerve damage, Fibro, (which my consultant told me, ME, fibro, and cfs, are all the same illness) some of us have it to a degree that we're not aware we have it, and by God! Some of us fear death before cure as we can't un-wrap slice, or cut our food up, pour or hold a glass of water, sit, wash, or dress with no help. Get in or out of bed, open mail, med, vit, or supplement containers? The only way to be sure is to grow it, raise it, kill it and cook it. Even organically raised animals are given tap water to drink! I have spent thousands on electrical appliances to peel chop, grind, what ever, and I can't switch them on or off, and the vibration is hell! I've had a hip replacement, my other one needs doing, disc detereation, arthritis, neuropathic nerve pain all over my body, I was a supreme athlete, but amonghst the locals I was know as that fit girl who was always drinking tap water!!! That and the drugs I should never been given in the first place wreaked my life!! So please, by all means share your trials and experiences, but don't be so self santimonious! I'm sorry your unwell, but its true, theres always people with no help worse off than yourself!!"

01/12/2012: Cfs Boston from Boston, Ma replies: "The medical establishment will have you believe that Chronic Fatigue Syndrome/Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (CFS/ME) is some sort of 'mysterious illness, ' but it's no mystery to me; CFS/ME leads to HIV-Negative AIDS, idiopathic CD lympocytopena (ICL), a clinical diagnosis that I possess.

How can the AIDS establishment continue with a stale "it's caused by HIV" theory when there are ICL cases cited in medical journals dating back to 1992? While millions of ailing immunodeficient CFS/ME patients get belittled and neglected, perfectly healthy HIV people are allocated billions of dollars in taxpayer money.

The NIH spent $3. 1 billion researching perfectly healthy HIV people last year. Sick, ailing immunodeficienct (some of us dying) CFS patients received a meager $6 million. How can it make any sense to anyone?

It's so easy to see that the medical establishment simply has these paradigms (CFS, HIV) inverted. AIDS patients are simply more CFS patients, who also happen to harbor a seemingly harmless virus, HIV. AIDS patients are just the tip of the CFS iceberg, and it's well-documented that HIV is not the cause of CFS/ME.

How else do you explain that there is no CFS/ME epidemic in the HIV population? CFS/ME does not discriminate. The answer is that there is; any otherwise perfectly healthy HIV person that is: 1) symptomatic, 2) is better on ARV's, or 3) is severely immunosuppressed (AIDS)...

...is yet another CFS patient.

Simply rename CFS, ME, and AIDS all to be "low natural killer cell disease" and everyone would very clearly see that:

CFS ME AIDS = low NK cell disease = one catastrophic epidemic (not caused by HIV)

Now that the 'mystery' has been solved, could we please stop wasting time and re-allocate all the HIV funding into CFS/AIDS research?

I want a revolution!

7 Step Plan to resolving our World's catastrophic public health disaster:

1. Demand research funding parity for CFS with AIDS.
2. Suggest that CFS & AIDS be researched together by scientists rather than as separate entities.
3. Urge the CDC to move their AIDS division under the CFS umbrella so they research all the infections that AIDS and CFS have in common.
4. Urge that AIDS organizations (like AmfAR) include CFS under their umbrellas so that CFS advocates don't have to reinvent the wheel.
5. Demand that the White House, Fauci and the Director of NIH make a public statement that (just from what we know today) in terms of the immune dysfunction and human suffering, CFS is just as serious a public health problem as AIDS.
6. Request that an annual international joint CFS & AIDS conference be held by the World Health Organization.
7. Suggest that next December 1st be declared the first "World CFS/AIDS Day. "

I stopped fighting for myself a long, long time ago.

I fight for humanity.

TED'S REMEDIES

Ted from Bangkok, Thailand writes: "There are many causes for chronic fatigue. It can be triggered by a virus, mycoplasma (Gulf war syndrome), immune system, heavy metals and hormonal imbalances. For me it was a viral origin and I was cured of chronic fatigue after taking some clove oil (very hot!) or clove spices to rid of them, well at least for me. At the time, I had to put clove oil and applied externally on feet, legs, arms and hands so they can be absorbed by the skin. After several applications at intervals of 10-15 minutes, over 5 or 6 times, the chronic fatigue was completely gone. The other is taking magnesium chloride seemed to help also.

The other is mycoplasma origin which causes chronic fatigue, in that case taking between 3-6 drops of 3% H2O2 mixed in one glass of water should help. However, it had to be taken at one hour interval several times before it can give a long term effect in ridding the body of it.

The other way to reduce the viral/bacterial/fungal causes is to alkalize. There is to ways that I found work best for me, either take 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda twice per day or take 1/4 teaspoon of baking soda plus 1/4 teaspoon of citric acid three times per day. The mix will alkalize the body increase the body's oxygen and kill the pathogens by oxidation.

If your cause of chronic fatigue is a hormonal one or possibly adrenal exhaustion issues than taking DHEA, melatonin and licorice extract, at least for me had a dramatic effect in increasing the energy levels throughout the day. Of course, you can take DHEA in the morning, melatonin in the evening and licorice extract is taken anytime, but you should not take it for longer than a week and you can stop taking it for a week alternately. Hormonal issues could also be due to insufficient thyroid at which taking seaweed and kelp would really help.

If the cause is of an immune system problem, than taking natural thymus extract would be best to restore the body's immune system to normal.

It is most important that certain chemicals used in house can cause severe hormonal disruptions, such as insecticide and fungicide which both have can either be a pseudoestrogen while fungicide is well known to destroy your body's immune system. To reduce the toxic effect of overuse of pseduoestrogen compounds found in many personal care product is to reduce such use as well as eating fresh cabbage which will counteract the effects of psuedoestorgen since cabbage can increase the body's testosterone.

Most important is to stop the use of fluoridated and chlorinated water and fluoride toothpaste which is well known to disrupt the pineal glands (fluoride accumulates here) and thyroid (chlorine competes against iodine and causes hypothyroidism).

Most of the foods you eat, in particular vegetables not organic grown has dangerously high heavy metals coming from cheap chemical fertilizers. these heavy metals can cause havoc to our entire body's delicate system. The best way is to eat organically grown vegetables without the use of chemical fertilizers and pesticides."

I have had Chronic Fatigue Syndrome for 20 years now and was delighted to read your valuable information and am really desperate for your advise.

I tried your recipe of 2 x tablespoon ACV & 1/4 tspn bicarb Soda and for the first time in 20years felt well with great energy. However, I am now suffering with chronic constipation from the ACV & Bicarb Soda. I am very aware that I have candida very badly too, the other day I consumed raw garlic with lunch and suffered very bad indigestion and again became very constipated. Due to years of food intolerances, allergies and severe hayfever (all year round) I have developed severe poloyps in my nose and am desperate to avoid yet another operation. However, you mentioned lemons in one of your remedies but because of my sensitivities I am unable to take lemons (i live in Australia).I am also aware that I am unable to digest my food should I take something for this.I would love to keep taking your remedies but might need them modified, can you please help me.

Ted, can you also tell me how long I need to take the remedy you suggest and the maintenance dosage I need to take thereafter to maintain my health.

Thank you for your time.

Warm regards,
Debbie-Anne"

05/07/2010: Karla from Baltimore, Md Usa replies: "I too recently reaped COLOSSAL success by taking apple cider vinegar (ACV) for my fatigue, indigestion, cold hands and feet, dry eyes, EXTREME dry skin, and stomach pain. I drank 1Tblsp ACV [in about 4oz. of sweet ice tea] 2-3 times per day everyday of April 2010 because I felt so good when I did! I am more energetic and warmer than I've been in months, maybe years. But the ACV was inconvenient to take. I searched and found that the relief I got from the ACV meant I had LOW stomach acid. I searched more and found LOW stomach acid is caused by LOW iodine (a trace mineral).

Now I take an iodine/iodide compound (5mg/7.5mg). The transition from ACV to the compound was seamless! In other words the iodine caused my body to make more stomach acid and the stomach acid caused my thyroid to do its job better and my symptoms did not return when I switched! I must be one of the 740 million iodine deficient people the WHO writes about.

Debbie-Anne good luck with your recovery! And remember the answer to a sluggish thyroid is the iodine/iodide compound (5mg/7.5mg)!"

Cider vinegar and H2O2, as well as being careful with what I eat, have been the means to correct my ph. You need to check your saliva and urine, not just your blood. Blood ph can be good and saliva and urine can be low as a result of the body correcting the blood. Our system knows that the blood needs to be right for our body's sake, so our saliva and urine systems will lower to counteract it. Therefore once we get our saliva and urine neutral things are rosey! Now after 30 years of pain and confusion, I am a different boy!

I have been buying 50% H2O2 solution for spraying crops for insect and fungi control at a 3% mix. I rinse my mouth with straight water and then sip a mouth full of H2O2, hold it in my mouth and swerling it for a minute or so and then swallowing it. I chase it with another sip of water. --don't know why I do that :)

H2O2 works on my crops and has worked on me. Who can argue with that?"

BETTER BUT NOT CURED

[BETTER BUT NOT CURED]  12/29/2011: Heather from San Diego, California writes: "I'm on disability and am officially diagnosed with chronic fatigue syndrome, which has been going on for 7 years now and started shortly after I developed mononucleosis.

Six months ago, I stopped using all forms of oil high in either Omega 6 OR Omega 3; switching exclusively to coconut oil, and using also some butter and some olive oil. Due to this switch, I noticed an immediate improvement in my chronic fatigue.

I did that based on othe research of Ray Peat, PhD after YEARS of using stuff like grapeseed oil and fish oil/krill/cod liver oil thinking that I needed the Omega 3's, or in the case of grapseed oil, thinking the high smoke point would save me from oxidation more than other cooking oils would.

I had also hoped the coconut oil would help with weight loss, as I've gained 30 lbs in the past year for no particular reason. It did not help with my weight loss but I noticed a significant improvement within a few days in regards to clarity of mind and energy. In fact, for the first week or so, I felt significantly improved, and thought I was well on my way to being cured. At that point, I was eating 3-5 tablespoons of the stuff each day.

Unfortunately, the polyunsaturated oils do not appear to have been *THE* cause of my chronic fatigue syndrome - at least I don't think so but it takes 4 years for that huge, life-long buildup of toxic unsaturated fatty acids to leave my body - but the coconut oil helped, it reduced my CFS to a more manageable level of discomfort, so I wouldn't stop using coconut oil for anything; nor will I ever be fooled into thinking that take Omega 3's is a good idea again either.

There have been studies done where scientists hypothesized that giving Omega 3's to pregnant women would increase the child's IQ - since we're all under the impression that Omega 3's are the ticket to health and longevity. Those scientists were perplexed and disappointed with the results: There was a significant trend toward the opposite: Lower IQ's in the babies. That is news I can personally use with two daughters in their 20's who are looking forward to building their own families soon. (And yes, I gave them Omega 3's while they were growing up, since they were babies; which I regret.)

(Google Ray Peat - the study I'm thinking of about the pregnant women was a French study, which he mentions in some article or the other.)

But that's getting a bit off topic.

Point is, the coconut oil helped. I usually just use it for cooking but sometimes I'll take a tablespoon or two in the morning, when I feel it will help with my energy and/or appetite.

Still looking for a CFS cure. For the last several weeks, I've been using the Lugol's iodine at 12.5 - 15 mg per day, and am considering working up to higher doses. That has cured my low body temperature and intolerance to cold (icy feet), but it's too soon to know whether it is the cure I'm looking for. I think the Lugol's has helped with brain fog but it's too soon to tell for sure.

Yesterday, I began adding 1/2 tsp baking soda in water 2x a day to see if that helps.

Also, I have become aware of the fluoride connection. I was one of those kids who had white spots on the teeth from flouride treatments, and I have only ever drunk tap water, usually filtered with a Brita. So today I'm going fluoride free and will try distilled water only for the next month or so; and will avoid all other sources of flouride as well.

Will definitely let earth clinic know if any particular remedy gives me my life back."

[YEA]  11/29/2006: David from Memphis, TN writes: "I have been taking coconut oil for five or six years now. About five years ago, my daughter, who was in college at the time, came down with mononucleosis. I overnighted her a bottle of monolaurin, the main ingredient of lauric acid, which is only found in any quantity in coconut oil and human milk. My daughter was diagnosed on a Tuesday, she got the monolaurin on Wednesday and on Friday, nine days later she had no symptoms and quit taking it. The following Monday (that's 13 days post diagnosis) she had lab work done and was completely normal. Other dorm-mates of hers had mono for months. Coconut oil, lauric acid and monolaurin supposedly lise the lipid envelopes of lipid viruses and bacteria.

Most colds are caused by lipid enveloped viruses as are a number of major viral infections.

Just last Saturday, a friend of mine called to tell me he had a horrible cold and had made an appointment to see and ENT physician on Monday. I told him to take three tablespoons of coconut oil. When I saw him on Monday, he was obviously fine. He told me he had taken two tablespoons on Saturday and Sunday and was fine on Monday so he cancelled his doctor's appointment.

I take it all the time but every now and then I run out. Usually I will get sick when I do. Then I go get some more. It is particularly effective for sinus infections. I just snort some into my sinus cavities. Most people are amazed when I prescribe it and it works. But I have seen it happen so many times now, I just expect it to work."

Ted from Bangkok, Thailand replies: "Dear David:

Monolaurin (or coconut oil, lauric acid component) is well-known against viruses, which is the main component of coconut oil, however other oils are also well known against bacteria too. A derivative of lauric acid, where they convert this to sodium lauryl sulfate, even in tiny amounts (micromolar concentration) are well-known to kill HIV AIDS, and a great many other viruses with a vengeance. Although I don't usually recommend this, but perhaps give you a historical backdrop.

Of course, sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS) today are not generally use in many products and there is a lot of effort to remove this product out of the market and replace with a safer, albeit less effective virus killer in many shampoo products with sodium laureth sulfate or sodium lauryl ether sulfate (SLES) which has much less virus killing power then sodium lauryl sulfate.

I remember during the heddy days of San Francisco AIDS viruses outbreak, which occurred almost within months of some kind of free hepatitis vaccination to only sexually active gays, that some were actually cured by taking drops of shampoo at the time were using sodium lauryl sulfate a drop 3 or 4 times a day. There is also a lot of hell fire propaganda in U.S. posted in the internet against the use of SLS also, as well as soybeans (billions of Asians have been consuming soy for centuries and not even fermented at that, where I live, at least), against the use of coconut oil (high cholesterol was actually the hydrogenated form), and a host of other misinformation. It is my guess that some of the idea for AIDS protection and prevention where they use the SLS as both a spermicide and killing of viruses might came from those that were actually cured after taking the SLS internally.

There are other derivatives of coconut oil used by the industry often called tween 20 or tween 80 (polysorbate 20 - monolaurin and polysorbate 80 - monooleate) which is converted to a sulfactant form of laurins used as a preservative. That are also effective too, but the polysorbate 80 is particularly well known against treatment of hair loss due to its antifungal properties that prevent them, or possibly reduce the autoimmuninty on the hair roots thus stopping the hair loss. There are other oils too such as sunflower oil, olive oil that does kill many organisms too, although they are more well known to kill bacteria.

It must be remembered that monolaurin (lauric acid coconut oil), are also helps herpes, genital herpes, virus, ulcers, candida utilis, etc.

In Asia, the coconut oil are such a common delicacy that we give little thought to using as a treatment, but they are also effective against fungus.

While I do believe that coconut oil is helpful in killing off the viruses, i still believe we catch cold because most people have a zinc deficiency and their body's pH are acidic for a wide range of conditions and therefore is the foundation. Zinc alone can kill herpes simplex viruses by 99.9% within hours. If I want a 100% kill, this is easy, just add magnesium chloride, use lavender oil, and tea tree oil. Of course coconut oil works, but for me lavender, tea tree oil, zinc, magnesium works the best in cases of topical application. Of course I usually add a bit of Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (below 1%) to it to speed up the killing. If this is done right, and proper portions, my the herpes simplex dies completely within 1 day, with a maximum of 3 days. Last time one of my relative told me it keeps coming back even though the formula (zinc & magnesium only) despite it worked better than the meds medicine they prescribed, I told her if she is in a hurry just apply all of them (tea tree oil, lavender oil, zinc chloride, magnesium magnesium & a touch of SLS) and do that every 1-2 hour for the whole day. The herpes never came back and this has been about a month now. The major weakness of viruses is ALL the medium chain fatty acids, not just lauric acid. This includes caprylic acid, caproic acid found in palm kernel oil too.

The most difficult organism to kill, contrary to what Hollywood is saying (movies like Aeon flux, Ultraviolet, stormbreakers, just for this year 2006) is NOT the viruses. In practice it is actually the fungus and mycoplasma. In the event of nuclear holocaust the two surviving organism are the fungus and cockroaches. Cancer symptomatically are often close to viruses then they do with fungus.

Again the best way to treat the viruses that has the best results for me are pH akalizing and the zinc acetate - to be used as an antibiotic as well as mineral supplement. Coconut is used here as a dietary food source in cooking. Here at my home I used the oil for cooking to be coconut oil, instead of medicine, so it protects while you eat. Oleatic acid also have some protection too, so sometimes I might mixed olive oil to it too. Other oils or spices I used also have antifungal properties include clove, thyme, tea tree, lavender and oregano, just the same. However, pH and mineral (zinc, magnesium, chromium) remains the backbone whenever I get sick the others I just eat them regularly. The last time I got a cold was 3 years ago it last 2-3 days because I got careless with the diet, too much sugar and acidic pH in the urine! Oh yes, and I probably ran out of coconut oil!"

09/14/2011: Susan from St. Mary's, Ga/usa replies: "Dear Ted,

Not sure when this article was posted, but reading your response on Coconut Oil and CFS and how it helps; you also discussed using magnesium chloride, lavender oil, tea tree oil and zinc as topical application for viruses. Could you go into more detail on how to combine and use, please.

Everything I have read about Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and it's cousin diseases either point to a viral disease and/or Floride poisoning over years of internal and external body exposure. having lived with CFS now for 12 years and still developing more sypmtoms every year, I am now looking for alternative treatment/s to the classical MDs which are not working.

D-RIBOSE

[YEA]  11/27/2011: Energizer Bunny from Denver, Co writes: "I am a 42 year old old male, and I've had chronic fatigue ever since I can remember. The doctors were useless. I've tried everything, including diet, exercise, vitamins, herbs, etc. I couldn't even exercise because I was always too tired! I've never really been able to concentrate. Also, when I would wake up in the morning, I felt as if I hadn't rested at all. You know the feeling? Not fun. I failed high school because I couldn't concentrate. Fortunately, I have a strong talent for computer programming and I am self-employed with that. Sometimes days would go by before I could even start on a project, and even if I could get started, I'd have to stop and rest frequently throughout the day, while guzzling coffee just to be able to keep my eyelids open. People were always asking me why my cheeks were always red and that gets very embarrassing after a while, no pun intended (rosacea, could never get rid of it, until... ) * * * * * NOW HERE'S THE GOOD PART!!! * * * * * That was all until recently... Then I gradually discovered Alpha Lipoic Acid (100MG, great energy and concentration booster), Acetyl L-Carnitine (500MG), CoQ10 (100MG), and I started feeling better. Then I read about D-Ribose (750MG) and how it is vital for energy. So I drove one hour to the nearest health food store (seriously) and the guy there said I needed to take it with Creatine (800MG). BOOM. That was the key. The D-Ribose and Creatine took it too a whole new level!!!!!!!!!! I took the D-Ribose (2 of the 750MG) and the Creatine (1 @ 800MG) and gave the same amount to my mother, and after a few hours I looked at her and said, "do you feel really good?" and she said, "yeah, I feel very peaceful and content... " and I replied, "Exactly. "... As the day progressed, we both felt better and better. Now we take it every day. The pain she was having in her legs is pretty much gone. She is 70 years old and she gets WAY MORE done now. She goes all day without stopping, instead of her usual three naps a day. The first few days of taking it, I just felt really happy, very peaceful and focused. I take all of the above supplements each morning, 1 of each but 2 of the D-Ribose. Now when I start working in the morning, my concentration level is at 100%. Four hours later, my concentration level is at 100%. Eights hours into my work day, my concentration level is still at 100%, without taking a break except for lunch. Unreal. I'm in heaven... After working all day, I have the energy level of a 5 year old boy now, I'm not joking, I'm serious, and you know hey THEY are! Oh, and my rosacea is GONE! (The Alpha Lipoic Acid really helped with that! ) My face isn't red anymore! It feels good to look like I'm not sick! And I exercise every day now. I work out with dumbbells, 10 to 25 pounds with each arm, I climb stairs for exercise for 10 minutes straight (up and down) like it's nothing. Seriously. I had already been eating healthy, so it's not like you can live on fast food and expect this to work. For breaksfast I eat oatmeal with honey and cinnamon (I also add a little sea-salt, blackstrap molasses, and coconut oil), or scrambled eggs cooked with olive oil or coconut oil and I add basil and sea-salt (ridiculously delicious), for lunch I have chicken breasts cooked in olive oil or coconut oil, and... That's right... Basil and sea-salt. Seriously, you have no idea how delicious that is. I also make stir-fry with raw spinach, red onions, tomatoes, garlic cloves (the whole clove, although not fun to peel) and whatever other vegetables seem good at the time, and I cook those in olive oil or coconut oil and... Basil and sea-salt... DELICIOUS!!! The healthy diet didn't help me with the chronic fatigue, but it sure does taste good! I was also very bloated for a while and started taking mixing psyllium husk powder mixed in water once or twice a day and that really helped! If you don't want to take all of the supplements listed above, you would still do extremely well with D-Ribose (2 to 4 @ 750MG) and Creatine (1 @ 800MG) each morning. Everyone says to take 5 Grams of D-Ribose every day, but I only take 1. 5 to 3 grams each day. But I keep upping my dose, and I feel better each day!!! Google it! YouTube it! EarthClinic it!!! I also heard (L?)-Carnosine was really good and should also be taken with the supplements listed above... THAT'S THE KEY: all of these supplements work together synergistically and each one helps all of the other supplements work better, as opposed to taking them separately. It's 11:38 PM right now and I'm still going full throttle! ... Even after working 8 hours and then exercising! And my concentration level is still at 100%!!! And, I sleep like a baby at night, which used to be a problem. That's whats cool about the D-Ribose... The energy is there when I need it, and the relaxation is there when I need it. It's as if it does want I want it to do when I want it to do it! Also my memory is way way way better! I want to point out that this is not like drinking coffee... I'm not bursting with energy and nervous, I feel very relaxed, but focused, and physically and mentally strong. I don't feel like I'm "on something" and I don't feel "high"... I just have a very genuine, natural sense of well-being, truly. I just feel really really really good! Have I made my point? :) :) :)"

DISTILLED WATER, APPLE CIDER VINEGAR

[YEA]  12/24/2006: Max from Atlanta, Ga writes: "I've been a vegetarian for many years. And although I'm not 100% vegan, I rarely eat dairy (except yougurt). I get plenty of exercise and I don't smoke and I rarely drink (red wine once a month). In spite of all this, I have been suffering from CFS for the last 7 years. Through diligence and hard work, many of the symptoms have slowly faded away. Recently, I got one of Kevin Trudeau's books and in that book he talks alot about the wonders of apple cider vinegar and pure distilled water. I've also researched this on the net and it all seems to be true. So for the last two weeks I've been drinking 8 full glasses of distilled water everyday and I've been taking 2 tablespoons of vinegar a day. I've noticed some obvious improvements. The most significant thing that I noticed is that I no longer have such dry skin and my scalp isn't flaky anymore. Also, it seems I'm sleeping better and I don't crave sweets has been lessened. Nonetheless, in spite of all the good news, I've been experiencing something that's totally unexpected and very unusual. I'm constipated. I've never had a problem with constipation. Even in my worst days with CFS I was never constipated. But now, every other day it seems I'm struggling to get something to come out. This is really baffling to me because I'm drinking more water than ever before and I have more energy, yet I'm suffering from constipation. Do you know what may be causing this?"

Replies
02/24/2011: Katwilm from Wilmington, Nc replies: "Whatever the cause of the constipation, magnesium is your best friend. Can't really get too much since your body devours it, but take the magnesium pills once, twice or even three times a day and the results are more than satisfying."
07/12/2011: Amy from Little Rock, Ar replies: "I took a chemistry class in college and used distiller water for many of our very precise experiments. The reason for distilled water is that it is in a very stable and pure water form. It lacks vitamins, minerals and therefore ions. This is where people are slightly misinformed. Distilled water is a pure form but it's used for experiments due to its condition NOT to interact with other side reactions.

We as humans need ions in our water. We need this for osmosis and cellular interactions in order to function at the basic levels. I asked my instructor specifically about drinking distilled water and he claimed we would eventually die. I'm not sure about that, however, it would definitely explain constipation. Our bowels operate significantly by using ion exchange and water osmosis. If water cannot be pulled through our bodies using ions, just imagine the challenge of moving uncharged water from your kidneys to your bowels.... Not gonna happen. The suggestion to at least add magnesium or simply salt to your water might help. I personally would drink bottled water while resuming your normal regimen and look for change. Hope this helps."

07/12/2011: Jay from Toronto, Ont, Canada replies: "Amy and Max. I have been drinking about 3 to 4 liters of distilled water per day for the past 19 years. Let me assure you that I am not near death, nor do I have constipation. My daily bowel movements can vary with the number of full meals I have the previous day but 3 a day of each is the daily average. Max, I think your comments about skin and scalp improvements and the ACV gives a better understanding of what is going on. The ACV is helping with the candida overgrowth throughout your body(which was causing the dry and flakey scalp and skin), but without a serious input of probiotics there is not enough good bacteria in your gut to balance the bad and to allow proper digestion to be maintained. Although yogurt can supply some probiotics, you would need to eat probably the same amount as your water intake to be effective. I strongly urge you to puchase and use a good 6 or 8 strain brobiotic from the refrigerated section of a good health food store. Following the directions on the label should alleviate your problem."

[YEA]  07/10/2010: Dezi from San Jose, Ca writes: "I have battled chronic fatigue for more than 20 years. Sometimes it's baffling; it comes and goes. However, I have managed to keep working all this time because of the natural remedies I've used. The XMRV viral connection makes sense to me. I had Epstein-Barr virus. I treated this with the essiac fomula very successfully, and I am due for another brewing. It might be worth a try. It turns my energy around with a week of taking the brew morning and night on an empty stomach. Essiac is said to kill viruses and cancer cells in the bloodstream. I'd like to add that I took the essiac formula to my cousin and his partner, who had come down with AIDS many years ago. To this day, they still take it, and it has been a literal life saver for them. Chronic fatigue can also have a thyroid component, and also adrenal exhaustion may play a part, or a combination. A homeopathic doctor told me years ago that my mitochondria were dysfunctional. The mitochondria are organisms that live in our cells. They consume sugar and release energy, giving us energy at the cellular level. If this is not working correctly, you will not have any energy being supplied to your body. The mitochondria can be effected by viruses, candida, etc.! I'm currently looking into how to support the mitochondria. Anyone out there have any suggestions for that?"

FATIGUE VS CHRONIC FATIGUE SYNDROME

[YEA]  11/09/2007: Jeannette from Northwestern, WI, USA writes: "A'lot of people who have chronic fatigue syndrome are way beyond the reach of healing methods for simple chronic fatigue. chronic fatigue is just that... ongoing fatigue. it can be due to physical, emotional or mental conditions and once they are addressed, the fatigue is gone. chronic fatigue syndrome, CFS, is NOT simple fatigue. it is a neurological autoimmune response that manifests like influenza, an activation of our immune system. it includes chronic fatigue, but that is only a part of the symptomology."

Replies
07/02/2008: Nadia from Western, WA replies: "I agree with you, Jeannette, in that there is a HUGE difference between being chronically fatigued and having CFS. I was diagnosed with CFS in October of 1991, by a leading researcher from the University of WA. She said I had the worst case she had seen to date and that I should not "listen" to quackary and thus waste my money on supposed cures. Yes, if you are chronically fatigued, you can "cure" that with a change of your diet or various other things. But what I have is not "curable." I, however, have helped myself by daily exercise, drinking plenty of water, eating a healthy diet, and positive thinking. No one told me to do these things, I have just been doing them from day one of diagnosis."
08/08/2008: Georgia from Rackenford, UK replies: "You must have a low immune system, therefore if you have mercury/silver fillings you might need to see a mercury free dentist to get them out because your body can't deal with the mercury."
02/19/2010: Kay from Fwb, Fl replies: "Please understand that CFS is so far beyond "fatigue" it's impossible for a normal person to relate to. Most people with CFS can barely function;'sheer exaustion' barely comes close to the feeling (I was an athelete with several world records, so I know what exhaustion is). Imagine having a restful nights sleep, and awakening to a beautiful day with fun plans, but discovering you are so "drained" you cannot hold your toothbrush up long enough to brush your teeth (let alone your hair). Imagine not being able to get to the mailbox on the street, knowing there are cards (and checks) out there because it's your birthday! Imagine having to call your 80 year-old next door neighbor to ask them to tote your rolling garbage can to the curb 20 feet from your house (when you've mowed thier lawn since you were 10). Imagine being this sick for 10 years now, but you are still that same happy go lucky person (despite this devastating illness). Then imagine people saying callously, "Oh I'm tired too; just get over it... you look like you're going to drop dead any minute!""

GENERAL FEEDBACK

09/14/2011: Susan from Saint Mary's, Ga, Usa writes: "History:

Developed asthma at pre-school age; used to play in big oxygen tent which covered my bed.

Developed Rheumatoid Arthritis at age 31 after birth of 2nd child; doctors still vacillate as to whether I have true RA as titers do not show up, but symtoms follow MD guidelines and over the years have taken extremely toxic meds for RA. No longer will take heavy meds for RA; deal with in other ways.

Developed Chronic Fatigue, or what was diagnosed as such, shortly after life long best friend died at age 50 with heart desease. I was then 48. Went to doctor I have used for years (still drive 12 hours to see her 2x a year) and told her I thought I was suffering from depression due to friend's death. She wanted to take blood work before just slapping me on anti-depressive meds. Tests came back with mono; which in Adults is Epstein Barr and two other less common viruses/ She treated me for 6 weeks and at the end of that time, though fevers were less, fatigue and stumbling, no sleep, too much sleep, were not markably improved. Lived with this for many more years with no treatment until MDs starting treating with B12 injections. I now take 3x a week (I am 60). It does help, but not alot. Episodes still occur with virilent effects every three to six weeks. Last year was put on SAVELLA which is new treatment for Fibromyalgia. It has helped some too, spaced out episodes to four to six months, but now having problems with dry eye; loss of part of film covering eye and IBS.

I have to tell all of you, common sense says autoimmune diseases are either related or feed off of each other or must strike some commonality as people with one autoimmune situation almost always have or develop another.

Though I have nothing against "good" doctors (was raised by two), I have strong objections to now taking 22 pills a day which in no way shape or form can be good for my system and probably to some extent counteract each other. I am a Type A personality (which most autoimmune sufferers are), used to be very athletic, no longer eat meat as body will not tolerate and, of course, like almost all CFS sufferers no longer work outside the home, much less overwork, which I was famous far.

I have lost friends over this as no one who has not suffered these life changing effects understands what you go through; luckily I do have a good spouse who tolerates my illness and my voracious reading and searches to try to find cause, effect and some form of treatment to help. I do think the floride poisoning reasearch has some strong studies to back it; oh and my hubby calls me a mine canary because if anything can effect anyone negatively by ingestion or skin contact, I usually "fall" off the perch first.

Any studies or possible treatment with diet change or minerals or vitamin additives that anyone has found to be helpful I would appreciate.

thanks.................stuck in lower rural, backward, Georgia

Susan

PS don't let anyone, with MD after their name or not, fool you into thinking this is caused by depression; anyone who has lived with chronic illness of any sort for more than a couple of years gets depressed.... HELLO?... Your life as you know it stops. If you need antidepressives to help control your sense of despair, take them, but be aware they come with their own issues as any chemical does......... Yoga does work for alot of people."

09/15/2011: Barbara from Rosedale, New Jersey replies: "I had chronic fatigue for over 10 years in the '80's when it wasn't recognized as a 'real problem'. Eventually I even had to quit working (could never collect disability). Even spent 3 weeks in the hospital for testing by an infectious disease doctor, who found no reason for my symptoms. What I found out, over time and by accident, was that being on antibiotics would relieve my symptoms for a significant period of time. Luckily, my personal physician believed me, and would prescribe for me when I would get really bad. Over time, I gradually came out of it."

Everything seems to be working right. I'm currently testing my PH and it seems normal. I had blood tests from a traditional MD doctor and nothing showed up. I've had NAET.com treatments--they've helped but I am pooped again. I've varied my diet big time over the last 12 years: vegetarian; vegan; big meat eater; raw foods-juicing; supplements galore $$; organic. I've done fasts, cleanses, energy work---weaker than ever. It gets worse every year. I'm colder than most people. I don't do junkfood, food additives (I do organic) or fast food.

I've tried working out at a gym 3x a week but am too tired for that. It's like I can use up my energy and be wasted tired until it builds up again. Aerobic exercise gets my breath and everything going...feeling good, but a week later of that and I will crash. I don't do: drugs, prescriptions, tobacco, drink (I'll have a beer once a month but no side effects) alcohol.

Needless to say, I have trouble just doing my job, getting around, and staying positive...really hard to do when others my age can play hockey, run marathons, etc (others that exercise and eat right).

I'm at the end of my rope with this stuff. I'm really discouraged with the medical industry as anyone I see wants to do lots of Tests $$$ and then guess what drugs I need to take.

I live in Lexington, KY and haven't found anyone out here who can put a finger on it. A chinese medicine guy could tell I had something really wrong with my Chi-Qui and gave me a supplement to strengthen my Kidney Chi but that didn't seem to do anything...Oh yeah, I tried Qui-Gong--nada. Zilch.

Any ideas would be great!

Have you tried fasting? There are many ways you can do it (do your homework and research "natural hygene" before you attempt anything). I personally have been doing "The Master Cleanse" for a few years now. The longest I have been on it was for 21 days, and everytime it has been the MOST amazing experience. My energy levels go through the roof, to the point where 6 hours of sleep a day are enough, and I even manage to go jogging and exercise with no problems at all.

Just a thought... keep looking for something that works for you. I'm sure you will eventually hit the jackpot.

Good luck!"
12/25/2008: Robin from Rural, VA replies: "You might consider the possibility that you have depression. It affects different people in different ways. I would suggest trying Rhodiola. Even if it is not a matter of depression, athletes use it to help build stamina."
12/25/2008: June from KC, KS replies: "Hi Jack, It sounds to me like you need to SWEAT! Go to a spa or club where you can sweat. You are likely overloaded with toxins. These can make you feel like you are dragging an anchor. And you can have them (we all do) even though you live a healthy lifestyle.

A naturepath friend I've been working with recommended this for me. I bought a steam cabinet from her but wasn't using it. I was working on draining toxins, heavy metals, etc with her products...and would be so exhausted I could hardly move. She said I needed to go sweat. I didn't believe her, but tried it anyway. I couldn't believe the difference, like night and day! Now I try to sweat as often as possible.

If you can't find a way to steam, at least draw a hot bath and pour in a cup or two of epsom salt. This salt can help leach toxins from the body. Massage will help too, just drink lots of water afterwards.

Native traditions the world over know the value of sweating. It's wise medicine!

Good luck. I hope you feel more energetic soon!"

12/25/2008: June from KC, KS writes again: "Hi Jack,

I forgot to mention H2O2. I have been using it at work when I haven't gotten enough sleep. It's a fantastic remedy for waking me up. I'm not a coffee drinker at all, or caffeinated tea, and need to avoid these because of adrenal issues anyway.

But, you might try the food grade hydrogen peroxide. I saw it recommended here by someone who used it to stay awake. I haven't noticed any other benefits from taking h2o2 internally, but on days I haven't gotten enough sleep it helps tremendously by oxigenating the body.

My dosage is 4-5 drops of 6% h2o2 in herbal or fruit-based tea. The herbal flavor helps disguise the slightly odd h2o2 taste. You can find h2o2 in your health food store (mine is 12% strength). I found mine on amazon.com, told my hfs about it and now they carry it.

What you describe sounds like cfs, chronic fatigue syndrome, and also fibromyalgia symptoms. All this is due to toxic buildup in the body and a lack of drainage. H2O2 is also great for fibro and cfs problems, among others.

Again, good luck."

12/25/2008: Teresa from Santa Monica, CA replies: "To Jack: sorry you are experiencing this and having no luck with any remedies. I had a flu virus a couple of years ago that caused me to be extremely weak for several weeks after the usual symptoms disappeared. I was really worried and had just symptoms like you describe. I bought a bottle of food grade peroxide, but after researching hydrogen peroxide far and wide on the net, came across Bill Munro's hydrogen peroxide inhalation method, which made a lot of sense to me. I never ended up using my food grade. I did Bill's method and started to feel better after 48 hours. I was completely back to normal after a week. I inhaled 3% drugstore every 2-3 hours for the first 48 hours (but not during the night of course). Then I started to cut back and inhaled every 4-5 hours for the next 5 days. It was my life saver. I now never travel anywhere without my little sinus inhaler bottle filled with h202. Before I take off I inhale. After I land I inhale. And when everyone else is catching viruses from planes, I never get sick. This is the very best remedy for viruses in my opinion. Good luck to you. Hope you will find something that works very soon."
01/19/2009: Jude from Louisville, Ky replies: "Hi Jack, If I were you I would do a spit test for candida, and I am 100% for the sweat box it brings such great relief just make sure if you replace your electrolites.I live in the Ohio valley too and in the summer time when everybody is running for the air conditioner I am outside trying to stay out in the humid weather as much as possible then go in and shower all the funk you have eliminated you will feel like a new person but the shower is most important if you allow yourself to dry up everything will be reabsorbed into the system GOOD LUCK"
04/05/2009: Lauren from Santa Cruz, CA replies: "Hey Jack. One thing that I find that isn't mentioned on this site is the importance of sexual continence. Refrain from ejaculating as much as possible and avoid sexual stimuli. Semen is vital energy and you need all you have to heal your body. Secondly I would suggest cold showers, both for general health and to combat CFS, as well as taming any sexual desires you may have as you reduce your sexual activity. Good luck and don't give up!"
04/05/2009: T from Maryland, USA replies: "The fatigue and coldness may indicate a thyroid problem. Get your TSH, Free T3, and Free T4 tested (make SURE they do the *FREE* T3 and T4). Don't take a doc's word for so-called "normal" results. Get the lab figures and research them yourself online; there's great thyroid forums out there with very knowledgeable people. Thyroid problems are widely misdiagnosed and many if not most doctors are appallingly ignorant about them. You can order the tests I mentioned for yourself online if you have an uncooperative doctor. But do get them one way or another just to be sure. Untreated thyroid disease can have devastating consequences from bone loss to heart disease, not to mention plain old quality-of-life issues. Good luck, and I hope you find the answer and solutions very soon."
11/11/2009: Lisa from Coto De Caza, Ca replies: "In response to Jack from Lexington, KY-USA on Chronic Fatigue:

It sounds like you have Chronic Fatigue syndrome. Most regular MD's can't treat you for this. See if you can find an Alternative Dr, an ND instead of a MD. Try searching under Environmental Doctors. There's a website for Environmental Dr's that might help.

1. Check thyroid. Find Dr. that knows Wilson's protocol.
2. Check Adrenal levels for Adrenal Fatigue. Inability to workout can be adrenal fatigue.
3. Test for Epstein -Barr virus.
4. Test for Candida. Those with weakened immune systems often get candida.
5. Maybe check into Heavy metal toxicity. Most regular MD's won't do the right test for this. Standard blood test will only pick up a recent LARGE exposure to metals, not small chronic exposures. Red Blood cell test can check better. I don't think I'm allowed to give the labs that does this test
6. Check Andrew Hall Cutler book, it may help on Mercury/metals. He has a Yahoo health group
http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/frequent-dose-chelation/

To help a bit with energy while trying to find a decent Doc. Try
7. Sublingual Methyl B-12 everyday, 1000 mcg. B-12 Shots work best if you can find a Dr to give an Rx. make sure it is not preserved with aluminum

8. Sublingual B complex. Shots work best

9. Co - E1, NADH Sublingual, 10 mg, everyday.

10. Many people with CFS are low on the zinc, selenium, chromium, magnesium. Some of these are sublingual. Taste bad but work good.

11. Many people with CFS have digestion problems and malabsorption problems, that's why the sublingual vitamins/minerals. Maybe try Betaine and enzymes with meals to help with absorption. DR can check for pancreatic insufficiency. Test can be done without DR through directlabs, but test is expensive.

12. If Epstein-Barr virus or candida, try a "Wellness Formula" that has herbs to help weakened immune system.

13. Adrenal Cortex glandular, 3x times a day may help a bit with Adrenal fatigue. Cortisol from a DR is best, but an Rx."

[YEA]  12/13/2007: Loretta from Red Deer, Alberta writes: "In September I started using some remedies from earthclinic for a 20 year CFS/pain condition, and kidney/liver lesions. The remedies I take are: 1/4 tea. borax & some drops of H202 in water, chorella, B complex, amino acids, & BS in 1/2 glass of water with citric acid. I take these five days a week. I also use borax in the bath daily. This program has been adjusted and I will continue to do so, but I really wanted to write about a major change in my health: anxiety is gone! and most of the kidney pain too! It takes time, it takes alot of reading, it takes a willingness to change diet, lifestyle and our conditioned beliefs, but these remedies have been the best thing to help me....and until I found earthclinic, I had tried it 'all'. I am no longer a slave to untreatable diseases from doctors, or dependent on expensive naturalpaths. Let's not just 'thank Ted'....let's 'show' him our appreciation."

WORKED TEMPORARILY

[WORKED TEMPORARILY]  01/22/2008: Alan from Sydney, Australia writes: "Hydrogen Peroxide major turn around then not.

I have been rebuilding my health following CFS for many years but in June 07 I had "Influenza A" which really knocked me around. I thought I was recovering ok but the old CFS symptoms re –emerged ie headaches, brain fog, unrefreshing sleep, fibromyalgia, blurred vision, sleeping all the time. In November 07 I found EC and tried H2O2 food grade. At first I tried the inhalation method for a couple of weeks but progress was not really fast enough so I took it internally. Due to my low energy and fogginess I managed to take the upper end dose on the first day (normally people build up to this over a few weeks) ie. 150ml of .50% ¼ tsp baking soda three times in one day. This is equivalent to 25 drops in 150ml of water three times in a day.
Results: first intake – nothing Second intake – my vision improved markedly over a ten minute period. It was as though a veil had been lifted from my eyes. Everything was sharper colors were brighter. I also began to feel more energy. (Since the flu my eyes have detiorated, I had to get a new prescription for my specs. And they had to make them 3 times because my vision varied so much from day to day. ) Third intake – nothing noticeable.
The following day I woke with a headache and fogginess and figured I was in for a detox reaction. This lasted until around 2pm and from then on I felt fantastic. I mean I felt exceptionally good. I felt like hugging strangers in the shopping mall. Giving money away, imagine no possessions and so on. It was exuberance, lightness, abundant energy. It lasted about 3-4 weeks. During this time I did some maintenance doses on a lower scale.
Results not: Anyway I have since had a garden variety bug and many of the symptoms have returned but to a lesser degree except for one debilitating condition that is worsening. When I eat – anything – I get a hangover and overwhelming fatigue for about 90mins. I have to sleep it off. I have tried various alternatives ie ACV & BS but to no avail. Does any one have any ideas what might cause this? I can't go out or for very long because if I have to eat I have to sleep.
I do not have any apparent digestive problems but it is probably connected in some way."

02/01/2008: Judy from Auckland, New Zealand replies: "This is really a response to [FIRST YEA, THEN NAY FOR CHRONIC FATIGUE] The problems you describe are common in CFS/ME and are caused by low blood volume, a common problem with this illness. They are in no way related to the hydrogen peroxide. What happens is that after a meal, blood concentrates around the stomach as part of the digestive process. There is less blood flow to the brain and the symptoms you describe occur. It is possible that you were not aware of this when you were really ill because you ate your meals lying down. The remedy is to do that. Lie down immediately after eating and the symptoms won't occur. As you continue to improve, your blood volume gradually increases and these symptoms disappear. You won't ever get rid of CFS/ME completely but you can get back to living an almost normal life if you create an envelope for yourself and don't go outside it. I've had it for 12 years, spending six years almost totally in bed, and now lead a quite vigorous life as long as I don't push myself beyond my limits."
02/06/2008: FranSix from Toronto, Canada replies: "Thanks to the writer from Australia who described peroxide "hang over effect." If after eating you notice a higher heart rate, strong fatigue, sweating and sleepiness, this is probably due to peroxide hang over. Like coffee or alcohol, peroxide will build up in daily use.

I had noticed these effects with daily footbaths/baths/shower use after 5 weeks, and into my sixth week, I was into peroxide hang over. I stopped using peroxide for the time being and its been about 5 days of after effect.

So anyone with chronic fatigue or post viral fatigue will see a return of symptoms after several weeks of peroxide use. Don't worry about losing ground, the hang over effect goes away after a few days, and the peroxide being worked through the system will continue to work. If you wish to continue, make certain to give it a bit of a rest and not try a miracle cure in the shortest time possible. It will be disappointing for chronic fatigue sufferers to hear this, but having serious peroxide hang over effect will almost certainly not help.

Its best to determine a maintenance dose once a buildup of peroxide occurs, and remember to drink lots of herbal tea or water afterwards. It would be interesting for the medical community to study peroxide hang over as it is exactly similar to chronic fatigue."

BETTER BUT NOT CURED

[YEA]  01/09/2008: Ian H. from Marton, New Zealand writes: "Three members of our family have been seriously affected by three different sensitivity disorders. Myself with fibromyalgia for 11 years, my daughter with MCS (multiple chemical sensitivity) for at least two years and my wife with chronic fatigue syndrome for about two years.

I recently read the articles on iodine use for mammary fibrocystic disease and decided to treat us all with 12.5 mg iodine/iodate (50:50). The results after two weeks have been very promising. All three report increased energy and better sleep.

The MCS patient lowered reaction on exposure to voc, mold and carpet, absence of morning nausea.

The CFS patient: less depression, better hearing and better appetite, no headaches.

The FMS patient: less pain in major sites (cervical, thoracic and lumber spine), arm-wrist, better cognition, better tolerance to aerobic exercise, fewer migraine headaches. I will follow this up for six months and report again."

[BETTER BUT NOT CURED]  01/25/2012: Heather from San Diego, Ca - California replies: "I am a 41 year old female with CFS for 7 years.

After only one month on iodine, starting at a few mg a day and more recently working up to 100 mg a day (as recommended by Dr. Guy Abraham for FMS and CFS patients; and in addition to avoiding as much fluoride as possible by drinking only distilled water and a no-flouride toothpaste, I am happy to report a reduction in brain fog by about 50-60%; all my chronically swollen lymph nodes are gone; my previously scaly feet and heels are now pedicure perfect; my body temperature is completely normal for the first time in a decade; my mystery fevers have disappeared, and I'm sleeping better.

I'm doing many other things: Ted's alkalizing formula; Lysine; multi vitamin, b vitamins, 3 grams vitamin C, and an additional brazil nut each day (for the selenium), progesterone for 2 weeks per month, 1 tbs nutritional yeast when I don't have b-vitamins, magnesium citrate (600 mg/day) and only use coconut oil and butter. However, I'd done most of those things before the Lugol's iodine solution -- which I take in 3 divided doses of 33 mg each.

The other thing I started soon after the Lugol's was taking 1tsp 2x day of turmeric. That may be an important factor, esp re. the lymph nodes if they were caused by bacteria/virus.

The painful swollen lymph nodes have been a problem for about a year, and were usually accompanied by a low grade fever.

My waking body temp was usually around 95.2, although sometimes is was 94 and others 96. It is now consistently 97.8-98. 2! A couple of times my evening temp has risen to 99 but I'm not worried about that because I didn't feel feverish.

However, I haven't seen much improvement in my energy levels. That said, having my brain back is a Godsend and I'd choose a working brain over energy any day. Nothing is worse than a malfunctioning brain.

It's only been a little over a month on the Lugol's, and only 3 days on the 100 mg. Today I am starting d-ribose and L Carnitine to help with the energy. I intend to continue the 100 mg of Lugol's for 7 weeks, which is what Dr. Abraham recommends to reach saturation, then will consider tapering back down to about 25 mg a day.

This does not contradict the flouride toxicity theory as a cause of CFS Fibro: Iodine/iodide is one way to help flush out flouride, chlorine and metals and that may be a reason it is working so well.

I also posted in this category about coconut oil a few weeks ago."

[YEA]  09/21/2008: Jane from Texas, U.S.A writes: "I just wanted to let you know that I after suffering from serious adrenal burnout and chronic fatigue and now found more energy by taking L-carnitine. I couldn't even get off the couch before and now I have 80% percent more energy. I also eventually added in q10 and that together with magnesium put me back to being the energizer bunny. I have read several times that people with CFS also have depleted L-carnitine. Hope this can help someone suffering from this horrible fatigue."

[YEA]  10/08/2008: Tina from Dartmouth, NH replies: "Dear Jane, wow! Thank you so much for suggesting L Carnitine. I immediately ordered some liquid, pharmaceutical grade after reading your post. (Is liquid better than powder?) You are absolutely right, it is the energizer bunny remedy, holy moly! I usually get super fatigued in the afternoon, but a tablespoon of L-C on an empty stomach 3x a day has stopped my desperate desire to take a long nap. Are there any side effects to taking this for long term? I have noticed (sorry to sound gross) that it turns my stools orange though! I don't eat red meat, so this amino might be fixing that..."
