Aspergillosis Treatment and Natural Cures

Last Modified on Nov 29, 2013

Aspergillosis refers to several illnesses causes by the aspergillus mold and usually affects the respiratory system. This common mold is normally harmless, but a few varieties attack people with weakened immune systems, asthma or a lung disease. The mold can cause mild to severe lung infections. Invasive aspergillosis is the most serious kind; the infection spreads to blood vessels. The standard treatment is observation and/or antifungal medications. In rare cases, surgery may be recommended. Symptoms include fever, coughing (possibly bringing up blood), fatigue, or shortness of breath, nosebleeds, one-sided facial swelling, joint or chest pain and skin lesions. If you have asthma or cystic fibrosis and have any of these symptoms, see your doctor. Risk factors include chemotherapy, an organ transplant or corticosteroid therapy.

Alternative Treatments for Aspergillosis

Holistic treatments that have been recommended: oil of oregano and drinkable vitamins and minerals including a very powerful antioxidant with pycnogenol, Japanese red pine needle oil, diffused cinnamon oil, ground black cumin and ACV made into a paste. Herbal Remedies

02/02/2013: Mares from Sydney, NSW Australia: "I was interested in what Tk from Sydney was discussing in regards to seeing a Chinese herbalist for his wife's Aspergillus. I, also, have Asthma and have suffered from Aspergillus. I have taken the ant-fungal medication but still feel very weak and debilitated. I live in Mosman and was wondering if you knew any good Herbalists in this area? I would appreciate anyone's help as I am at a loss."

Remedies Needed

02/06/2011: Lilybelle from Saffron Walden, Essex, Uk: "Dear Ted,
My 8 year old son has always been a delicate, very small, very thin boy and from babyhood has suffered from severe bouts of pneumonia, repeated chest infections and now is very slowly recovering from a serious aspergillis infection. He is under the hospital but his lung function is still quite low. I wondered if there was anything you could suggest to strengthen his lungs to prevent the aspergillis infection returning and to hopefully prevent the frequent chest problems. Also, anything that would improve his general health to help him grow and put on weight would be wonderful as he has these problems so often that it knocks him back each time and all the hospital can do is increase the steroid dosages. We are so worried about him as he is so thin and frail but he is blessed with a family that pray for him continually and thankfully he finds the strength to fight on each time. We would all be so grateful if you could give us some advice as he is such a brave little boy but he desperately needs some help. Many, many thanks Ted from Debra, UK."

02/18/2011: Tracyd from Simpsonville, South Carolina, Usa replies: "Lilybelle, I'm fairly new on here, but I saw where you were looking for something to improve your son's general health. My son was also very sickly with RSV, skin issues, and a heart condition, so I've been researching natural remedies and prevention for him for years. Like your son, he was very thin and when he caught something as simple as even a cold, it would knock him down from all directions. I had difficulty finding even a multivitamin that he could take, natural, gummy, or otherwise. He couldn't digest them, and they made him sick. In the past year, I've started him on drinkable vitamins and minerals, one of which is a very powerful antioxidant with pycnogenol, and it was the first time he went through the spring and fall seasons (pollen and ragweed seasons) without a steroid. He is visibly growing stronger. If you want more information let me know. Many wishes of health to you and your family."
03/05/2011: Lilybelle from Saffron Walden, Uk replies: "Tracy thank you so much for your kind message. I would indeed be so grateful for any tips you can give me. Am so glad that your son is thriving. Take care and best wishes to you and your family. X"
07/17/2011: Steve Scott from Anaheim, Ca replies: "I saw your situation and thought I would have you look up japanese red pine needle oil. This will be your answer!!! I hope this will help your son!!!"
07/21/2011: Tk from Sydney, Australia replies: "Hi Lilybelle,

I was one of them that wrote in this forum for help in finding a cure for my wife suffering from aspergillosis (ABPA). She is also asthmatic. So far we have no cure but have better success to stop her taking the prednisolone (steriods). Her thoracic / lung specilaist was surprised when she visited her last. It was when she starts seeing a Chinese Herbalist. The Herbalist's first priority is to build her immunity up. After a month long of those horrible herbal concoctions she has managed to stop the prednisolone. She is still using twice daily the Symbicort. It a long term treatment but we can see results. Not all Chinese Herbalist are good, we have found this Herbalist by co-incidence from a friend who was diagnosed a terminal case but was cured after 2 years of treatment by this Herbalist. If u want to go thru a Chinese Herbalist, I hope you will find someone who is good. God Bless u all."

08/26/2011: Jamesetta from Chicago, Ill replies: "I did not know about this asperillosis fungus until a few months ago when I ran into my ex husband`s cousin. I found out that my ex husband has this disorder. When went to visit him I wanted to cry. We are looking for a remedy for him also. If someone could tell or suggest a relialbe chinese herbalist we would be so happy. Also something to put weight back on him he is so small now. I keep him in prayer for a healing from God. thanks and God bless you."
12/02/2011: Sapphire from Dallas, Tx Usa replies: "Hello, Where can I purchase japanese red pine oil. I found some info online but not sure.

02/21/2012: Emi from Sarajevo, Bosnia replies: "I have done a lot of research since I suffer from Allergic Bronchial Pulmonary Aspergillosis (ABPA) and Multiple Chemical Sensitivity along with thyroid problems, osteoporosis and bad heart due to mold. It seems like cinnamon oil diffused helps, as well as some other oils. Other things that do work for me are niacinamide, B5 that works like perdisnone and oregano oil. Moreover, the D3 stops the allergic reaction. I would avoid Apple cider vinegar due to its mold content as well as the evil citric acid- the E330 is actually made from aspergillus. This is what I found out, and it seems to work, since I now feel horrible after running out of my natural medicines."
04/11/2012: Faeqa from Amman, Jordan replies: "Peace upon all of you, I used black cumin (Nigella Sativa) for internal fungus and it give me a very good result, I think if you use it for Allergic Bronchial Pulmonary Aspergillosis (ABPA) it may give the same.

The way I used is: grind it then add ACV, let it stand around one hour to be a soft paste, take internally one teaspoon 2 times a day (before or after meal).

I used this paste externally for skin fungus especially feet fungus and it gives excellent results and cure it forever.

Not: don't grind alot of black cumin, just prepare for 2-3 days every time and keep it tightly in a jar because it oxidize by air."

08/07/2012: Lea from Davie, Fl replies: "I am 47 year old who was diagnosed with ABPA at the age of 28. Several bouts of pneumonia later and daily use of Advair 500, and 4-5 long courses of prednisone yearly, there has to be a better way. I started taking Apple Cider Vinegar, but then heard conflicting reports that it is processed with Aspergillus, my arch enemy. I also have asthma and sinus issues (bronchial/sinus syndrome). I had a sore throat yesterday and today feel awful, very tired with a fever. Any suggestions would be very much appreciated."
01/03/2013: Megan from Willis, Tx replies: "There is a great book that talks about fungus, natural remedies and a fungus free diet. The Fungus Link by Doug Kaufman it has a fungus detox diet in it and medical, and natural remedies. It is a great source of information on all types of fungus"

12/08/2010: Tk from Sydney, Australia: "Is there anyone who has successfully rid of aspergillus in the lung? Pls can u give me your feedbacks and contacts so I can help my wife who is suffering from this. Many thanks."

12/09/2010: Tommy from North York, On, Canada replies: "Hi Tk,

12/09/2010: Brooke from Montgomery, Tx, Usa replies: "To 4 ounces of pure GRAIN alcohol (not 85%, but pure grain alcohol - that's a 190%, or 190 proof), add:
Eucalyptol, Benzosol, Oil of Turpentine, Tolu, and Benzoin
Copy and look up theses ingredients and you will find it. This is an inhalant that you breath into your lungs 3x a day. Also she needs to stay away from sugars, starches and pork!! My family and I do not eat any pork, it causes fungus in parts of the body and if she has a fungus, it is only feeding it!!! Get her on a more alkalizing diet and exercise out in the open air. She should also be cleaning out her bowels with enemas or colonics. Also does she have any back pain? If so then she needs to see a Chiropractor and have him adjust her on the lung, and any other spot he may find. Hope this helps!"
12/13/2010: Tk from Sydney, Australia replies: "Hi Tommy, thanks for the advice, I will try to email u later. Hi Brooke from Montgomery, pls can u give me your email as I need to ask u more. Many thanks,

04/08/2013: Shawn from Des Moines, Iowa replies: "I was wondering how does fungus aspergillosis grow on stange or usual places ? and if it was possible to grow inside a washing machine ??"
04/10/2013: Oregano from North York, On, Canada replies: "Hello dear, Try Mexican Oregano oil. It is different than the mediterranean oregano oil. It is high in carvacol and thymol. Put it some drops in an empty capsule and give it a try. Don't take too much because essential oils are toxic to the liver. Do not exceed 5 drops and you will be fine. Hope you will be fine."

[YEA]  04/04/2008: kimb from Dallas, TX: "re: Chronic Asthma & Aspergillosis.

I have been suddenly left completely disabled for the last two years. Sudden onset of respiratory illness and lethargy. I'm 35 and have been unable to do even the basic of personal daily routines. I used to ride all terain 20 miles a day up north. After two years of relying on modern medicine and countless hospital stays, I have decided not to die from a pescki fungus or anything else. So I have begun taking matters in my own hands and will try anything that makes sense. I currently began double dose of DHEA for natural precursor to antinflammatory, 7 oranges a day, 2xday apple cider vinegar, copper supplement, probiotic yogurt, and 4 times daily supplement. After 3days my neighbor comment that I have color for the first time. I also have been able to get out of bed. I am going to try the peroxide and apple cider vinegar in my nebulizer and report back. I believe it will work. Make an uncomfortable environment for bacteria, kill it, get it out, and keep it out! All this without dying from side effects of prednisone, advair, and numerous others.

Thanks for your posts! Many prayers for all of you."

The secret to my success was through natural essential oils and diet. I tried many different types of oils and natural supliments for a lot of years and finally found the ones tha worked the best. I would love to share it with everyone. Oregano, breathe and ongaurd along with proper diet was the solution.
