STAPH WARNINGS

4 WARNINGS!

[WARNING!]  11/13/2007: Asha from Oklahoma City, OK writes: "... As far as MRSA goes, I wouldn't be surprised if the boils were MRSA. I have worked in hospitals for a few years now, and the scary truth is EVERY hospital of any size has a patient with MRSA at least once a month. They expect it, and really don't do much to keep others from walking into these patients rooms without gowning-up, masks, gloves, etc. The only way I know that a patient has MRSA is if I happen to see it in their chart, or if they have parked a gown cart outside the patient's room. Bottom line: Don't go to a hospital if you don't want to be exposed to MRSA. If you have a friend or relative that works in a hospital or other health care setting, know that they are more than likely carriers of MRSA."

[WARNING!]  06/10/2007: Kelly from Virginia Beach, VA writes: "Please be careful at your Drs' Appointments. My child had a small scratch, went to a normal doctor's appt where he put the stethascope over the scratch. A couple of days later I noticed what looked like a pimple. I tried to squeeze it. It got bigger like a bug bite, but didn't go away. It tested positive for MRSA, the community acquired version. I had seen before that stethascopes are crawling with germs. How I wished I would have asked the doctor to use an alcohol wipe on it before examining her. Septra and Bactraban finally cleared it up. But now I have to worry about every condition being an outcome from MRSA. Once you have it, you are considered MRSA susceptible. Good luck out there, may you never get this menace!"

[WARNING!]  04/24/2007: Carolyn from Holllywood, FL writes: "This is what you have been saying in this forum. Hospitals try to keep the lid of secrecy on MRSA cases. Presumably, so that future patients will not be aware of the problem and will unknowingly subject themselves to surgery at this hospital. I learned that there is at least one case of MRSA at this large local hospital, but there is no mention of it in the news. The hospitals obviously fear financial losses more than the deaths of their patients. I find this disgusting, what about you? I should mention that the hospital in question is NOT located in Hollywood, Florida."

[WARNING!]  11/23/2006: Kimberly from Sequin, TX writes: "I got several staph infections, but was never tested for MRSA. January of 2004, I got one on my forehead and one on the hairline near my neck. I chose to lance them at home, which was the biggest mistake I could have made. The infection on my neck got into my bloodstream, traveled into my spinal cord and festered for nearly three months. When my back pain began, doctors could find no cause for it, so they admitted me to the local hospital after three trips to the ER in agonizing pain, and treated me for five days for Kidney infection and Kidney stones. Turned out it was MRSA in my lungs, blood, spinal cord, pneumonia and bronchitis. By the time they realized this my blood pressure was dangerously low, as well as my blood oxygen level. I had about six hours to live at this point. Thankfully a rather risky back surgery saved my life, as well as 2 months of severe antibiotic treatments, where I was given Vancomyacin through a groshong catheter directly into my aorta. Lesson here, if you get more than one staph infection, get tested for MRSA. I didn't, and the result is life long pain. My son was only six months old when this happened. He is two now and I can still barely carry him for long."

[YEA]  07/23/2009: Carolyne Geisler from Sydney, Australia writes: "My daughter started out with a carbuncle of boils which the docotor i went and took her to see, put on an anesthetic to numb the area and it didn't work so they gave her an injection anesthetic and it still didn't work so they were cutting her open while the anesthetic wasn't obviously working, my poor daughter was screaming in a way i never had seen a child scream my mother inlaw was with me and we were crying so had to see a child in pain after half an hour of my daughter screaming, the doctor had then said and i quote "i don't know what i am doing! you are going to have to take her to the hospital to get it scrapped!" i was shell shocked, i took to the hospital and they had told me that everything was ok, so i went home and they gave me a phone call two days later saying i had to come back down to change her medication because she had contracted the golden staph infection, so i went back and waited three hours before someone would see her, we got the new prescription and went back home then not even twenty-four hours later the hospital called me again and once again i headed back to the hospital another three hours later they gave her new medication, and then not even twenty-four hours after that i had another phone call saying she had the MRSA virus and that i had to come back down to the hospital when i got there they had explained to me that she will have the boils for three years and that the infection will stay in her system for the rest of her life he also explained that it is very similar to the aids virus, since that day i have been back again to the hospital to have them say it is not the hospitals fault it is caused from our family which is a load of bull....long story short - I found your website and tried the Turmeric (500 mg capsules 4 times per day). This WORKED WONDERS. Thank you all so much for website. My daughter thanks you as well."

10/04/2009: Kathy from Mustang, Ok replies: "i want to know how old your daughter is. i have an eight year old, want to try turmeric, but not sure how much to give her, did she take it with other meds. lots of questions. thanks"

[YEA]  05/01/2009: MRSA MAN from White Plains, NY writes: "I suggest mixing a couple sprinkles of black pepper in with your 1 or 2 teaspoons of turmeric in warm water. Since the bioavailability of turmeric orally is naturally low, the black pepper increases absorption by a TREMENDOUS amount. ______ This was just my 2 cents. TURMERIC AND MANUKA HONEY

1 BETTER BUT NOT CURED

[BETTER BUT NOT CURED]  09/07/2008: Chrissy from Hobe Sound, FL writes: "I have tried almost everything to cure my MRSA.

Silver Biotics, Oil of oregano, ACV, diet changes, coconut oil, oil pulling, turmeric, GSE, black strap molasses, baking soda, campho, holy basil, zinc supplements, fasting, liver cleanses, manuka honey, hibeclens, kefir (acidophilus), tea tree oil, neem oil, baby powder, loose clothing, no alcohol.

The two that I have found to help the MOST (keeping the size and swelling down) have been manuka honey and turmeric. But NOTHING has stopped/cured my MRSA. It is so frustrating and makes me quite sad to have to keep going through this. My boils are heavily concentrated on my bottom. I can get up to 20 at a time just on my bottom. Sometimes they go down the backs of my thighs, but they are very limited to where they pop up.

I feel discouraged and so horrified at all the scars on my bottom. What am I doing wrong here? I eat 80% raw organic vegetables (but 100% organic all the time) I avoid alcohol and sugars. I eat meat maybe once a month. I'm absolutely at a loss and would love some help."

12/13/2008: Nancy from Sunnyvale, California replies: "I made a list of things I take internally for most infections-colloidal silver, oregano caps/oil, olive leaf-Roex, Bee Propolis,* *monolaurin*, caprylic acid, goldenseal, turmeric, *baking soda*, Grapefruit seed extract,*Iodine* drops or sea kelp, cayenne, garlic, apple cider vinegar, alkaline ph drops/baking soda.Cloves for gum ailments.

Mix bag balm or oatmeal for topical with tumeric, cayenne, camphor, colloidal silver, sea salt, honey, baking soda, tree tea oil, iodine-hydrogen peroxide, hot compresses.

This should do it. I take in place of antibiotic perscriptions for anything that ails me. I take after surgeries also. You can also make misters or put in your humidifier. 04/01/2009: CJ from Exeter, NH replies: "There is hope!!! I was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis in late jan of this year. I then got a bad case of multiple painful MRSA boils in perineal and genital area from the colonoscopy. It was not promptly diagnosed by my doctor, so the boils grew for 10 days with no treatment. 3 had to be opened surgically and drained. one left a large deep wound on my buttock...I couldnt sit down for 2 weeks and had to have a visiting nurse come to pack the wound. I was hospitalized on IV vancomyacin 4 days after the MRSA diagnosis and lancing, then Zyvox for 10 days when i went home. the MRSA came back a month later in early March. 10 more days of Zyvox, it went away, then recently - a later after i stopped the antibiotic -- two more small boils showed up in genital area....MRSA again. needless to say, the antibiotics are not very effective long term, and have wreaked havoc on the colitis, killing off healthy intestinal flora and bringing back the colitis symptoms even tho I was mega dosing on high quality probiotics Critical Care Ultimate Flora 50 billion capsules by NewLife(200 billion organisms a day total which helped but the antibiotics still created diahrea). I do a lot of natural healing things, take a lot of supplements, but MRSA is really tough!! I am refusing to do more antibiotics this time with these new boils, and am just starting raw organic unfilterd apple cider and turmeric powder 3X a day to deal with this latest bout based on these recommendations here. A book that has helped me A LOT (and that also promotes apple cider vinegar, probiotics and kefir) is The Body Ecology Diet by donna Gates. A recurrent infection of any kind is often due to an overacidic body, allowing yeast to flourish as well as harmful bacteria which taxes the immune system weakening it so it cant fight the MRSA. I am alkalizing my body using THE Body Ecology Diet. IF YOU HAVE RECURRENT MRSA, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND YOU READ THIS BOOK AND IMPLEMENT SOME OF THE SUGGESTIONS!!! I have only been doing it for less than 2 weeks and it has already resolved the colitis symptoms (in spite of the multiple antibiotic rounds and in spite of my GI doctor saying it would take 6 weeks IF I were taking the anti-inflammatory drugs which im not). I had a massive yeast die off and I am feeling so much better. I believe with this book plus the turmeric I will finally beat the MRSA for good! I also suggest for those with really recurrent MRSA to consult a good herbalist as there are several herbs that are very potent antifungal/antibacterial and they can be applied topically and made into a tea. It is the western medical systems over use of antibiotics that created this monster, and while antibiotics might be a good short term tool, in my opinion you need to get at the underlying condition in your body that is allowing to come back again and again."

[YEA]  11/19/2009: Boris from Vancouver, Bc, Canada writes: "I'll add another "yea" to the growing pile of positive feedbacks for turmeric treating staph.

Ailment: I have been suffering with chronic folliculitis (s.aureus was cultured) in my beard area. Usually 5-10 active boils are present at any one time, varying in size from a single hair follicule to deep, 2cm diameter nodules.

Prior Treatments: I have tried just about everything under the sun for this: antibiotics for three months; prescription antibiotic cream; medicated shampoos; chlorhexidine washing; tea tree oil; witch hazel; apple cider vinegar rinses; not shaving (I grew a beard three years ago when this started). All were ineffective. I seem to get reinfected over and over again, even though I take care to use clean towels, pillowcases, etc.

Turmeric: Now this is more like it. The turmeric really works. The effect was not immediate, like so many report, although it was quick. I started taking full-spectrum highly concentrated turmeric capsules (400mg, 3X per day) and it took about three days to notice the healing. At first the inflammation calmed down, and those nasty boils began to retreat. I've been on it for four days without any new outbreaks and the last of pre-turmeric boils fading away. No other treatment (doctor- or self-prescribed) has been nearly as effective.

Kudos to Earth Clinic and all those Earth Clinicians out there for pointing me in the right direction!"

[BETTER BUT NOT CURED]  11/04/2009: Dhildreth from Berkeley, Ca, United States writes: "MRSA and Tumeric

When i was first diagnosed with MRSA, i was beyond dismayed. As my symptoms became more intense and frequent i was horrified and disgusted with my own body and felt that i could confide in no one, not even my doctor. i was initially misdiagnosed, completed rounds of antibiotics that did had no affect (which did not seem to be a read flag to my doctor), and i went through a bureaucratic nightmare for nearly half a year before demanding to be referred to an infectious disease specialist who told me that all of the MRSA remedies i read on earth clinic were B.S.

i had just finished a round of septra for a particularly difficult boil when i started taking turmeric, about 2 tsps in water 3 times daily. the effect turmeric has had on my skin is unbelievable. i never could have foreseen such a dramatic recovery. although there is no cure for MRSA, i have been able to live boil free for nearly a three months by maintaining this regiment.

i have also committed to a vegetarian diet with dramatically less sugar and flour which cause an acidic imbalance that fuels MRSA.

on a personal note, earthclinic gave me a sense of community when i was most despondent. it gave me hope, encouragement and a remedy that has provided me with a new lease on life. i only wish i had discovered this site earlier, but feel so blessed to have come across it.

for everyone dealing with MRSA, i just want to say that you are not alone, you are loved and you can and will get through this. i care and many others do as well."

[BETTER BUT NOT CURED]  10/21/2009: Carolyn from Tamarac, Florida writes: "MRSA boils and Turmeric cure

When I recently got married I continued drinking my homemade kefir every day BUT I forgot to use turmeric in the kefir. After two months, I got a bad outbreak of MRSA on the back of one leg and on the top of one hand. (I first contracted MRSA about 3 years ago). I began using turmeric again (I had plenty on hand) and in one day I could see the redness starting to disappear. Now the areas are mostly healed. Kefir does a fine job holding down my MRSA symptoms, but I need turmeric added in small amounts to each cup of kefir I drink. I always sip kefir all day. Today in fact, I ordered more fresh kefir grains from eBay because after 3 years of using the original grains purchased back then, they were finally weakening. I hope my information helps other people who either have MRSA boils or other types. A main way to combat MRSA is NOT to eat anything containing HEME iron (meat, fish, poultry). I believe that I got these outbreaks recently because I was omitting turmeric. Now I have my MRSA symptoms back under control. If you want to know more about how I control my MRSA, just email me: johnmillerz2003 (at) yahoo.com Carolyn"

[YEA]  08/27/2009: Susan from Emerald Coast, Florida Usa writes: "turmeric and boils

I became very run down due to great stress in my life and one morning woke up to a huge knot on my face. I never had a boil before so I did some research to figure out what it was and how to cure it. I came across this site and found the turmeric cure. I was aggressive with the treatment using warm compresses soaked in turmeric and salt all day and also applying a paste made of turmeric powder and salt directly to the boil. I also used a 1/4 cup of 1/2 & 1/2 warmed up with a teaspoon of turmeric and a touch of hot chocolate for flavor several times a day. After one day, the thing began to drain a foul smelling puss, totally gross. I did a little more research and found it was probably MRSA. I know how bad MRSA can get and I was worried that my face might become disfigured from it. Day two the boil kept draining and I kept up the hot packs and paste religiously. It's now day 8 and the boils is almost completely gone. It's truly amazing. If you have a boil, always be very careful about not spreading it by washing your hands vigorously every time you go near the boil. Use sterile technique when dressing it,always cover a MRSA wound so you don't spread it(It's highly contagious) and use gloves if you can. Wash any clothes or sheets every day that come in contact with it. I used disposable pads on my pillow at night. I actually feel better than I have for a very long time with energy and ambition. I am so thankful to have found this site. and I'm totally sold on turmeric!"

[BETTER BUT NOT CURED]  08/06/2009: Kimmy28 from Jones, Al writes: "I got a horrible boil on my buttock about two months ago and it was the most painful thing ever! so I thought it would go away and it did not instead it got larger and larger till it was as big as a golf ball and then larger than that the next day. So I waited but finally went to the ER and they told me it was staph and gave me vankamycin because my fever was 103.5 and I was septic by this time and they sent me home! so I got worse overnight and went to the ER then next day at another hospital and so they did surgery on it and drained it and cut deep into it. Gave me more antibiotics and sent me home and it finally started to heal but I have a horrendous scar like a bullet wound. So I thought I was done with that but exactly three weeks later when I began my period, surprise another one on my leg, in the muscle! So I went straight and had it lanced, another lovely scar! it would not heal for weeks until I found this site and ordered myself some Turmeric capsules and powder, then I started taking the capsules and put turmeric powder just one teaspoon boiled down in water on the wound and bandaging it each night. In the meantime I washed down everything in the house in scalding water, all my clothes, wiped down mattresses with antibacterial, then put the bactriban antibiotic stuff in my nose everyday for 8 days and also I was on antibiotics and then just to be safe I went to an Infectious Disease doctor who probed the wound and made it bleed and caused me great agony!

but he gave me so much information about this staph condition that I am so thankful to have seen him, however the cure for me has been THIS WEBSITE! Turmeric not only is helping with my staph it is making me feel better overall, not sure why but I can only speak for myself, so then I found another website that said turmeric is a mood enhancer and works for some people who are depressed so that must be it. I feel great!

now I have gotten two other boils after the leg boil healed with turmeric and as soon as they come up I put turmeric on them and they burst and heal. SO it worked 100% for me with some added benefits being my mood is much much better and I feel good.

Thanks
Many Blessings to you all!
Kimmy"

07/29/2009: Tammy from Lincoln, Iowa writes: "Back story first. Some years ago 3 of my boys, with some friends, went swimming in a creek. -They went to the creek because most of our local beaches had been closed due to high bacteria levels.- Three of those boys, one of my own, were later diagnosed with MRSA. We had seven people in our home at the time and all but two have since suffered bouts of boils. Those of us who have higher bodyfat percentages suffer much more frequently and severely.

About a year and a half ago I discovered earthclinic. I immediately started taking remedies for -among other things- allergies, asthma, fibromyalgia, and boils. (I have never been diagnosed with MRSA, I choose NOT to have that put in my medical records. Besides, no medication ever given to my son or any of his friends ever really helped.) I no longer suffer from ANY of those conditions accept the boils.

When I first started taking the turmeric I had no less than 30 outbreaks in less than 3 weeks. I assumed this was a 'cleansing period'. They were uncomfortable, inconvenient of course but definitely NOT like they used to be. Since then I have had 4. Two were very minor, gone right away. The third was a bit more painful, this one now is killing me! It may very well be the worst I have ever had!

HERE IS MY POINT! I did the math and realized why I have gotten these last two -I think. The last one I got after my son had been in the hospital, I missed maybe 2 or 3 days of taking my morning "tea". This time I have gotten VERY caught up in life, very busy and I think I have only had my tea 3 or 4 times in the last week and a half! It is my understanding that there is no 'cure' for MRSA. There is only control.

My 'tea' consists of 1/4 tsp turmeric
1/4 tsp cayenne
1/4 tsp cinnamon
1 Tbs blackstrap molasses
1 Tbs coconut oil
1 c warm water

For those of us who are predisposed to boils, are sensitive to staph or have been exposed to MRSA constant control is key to our continued health.

By the way, I also rinse with ACV after every shower and spray myself head to toe with peroxide about every other day to control topically."

[YEA]  07/30/2009: Tammy from Lincoln, Iowa replies: "UPDATE: Yesterday I was able to take 1 tsp turmeric mixed with 1 tsp coconut oil in hot water twice. I also put a bandage on with turmeric, coconut oil, and raw honey mixed into a paste. This morning it felt 90 percent better!! The surrounding pain was gone. The lymph node in my groin no longer hurt and the boil had burst and drained. This afternoon a hard core came out and it is now healing.

THIS REMEDY DEFINITELY WORKS!!!

The point of my previous post was the importance of maintenance and prevention."

[YEA]  07/17/2009: Elissa Smith from Cleveland, Ohio writes: "I am 47 year old female. 2 years ago, I was very fit and healthy. I took up employment as a care assistant in a residential home for the elderly. 6 months into my employment and elderly lady was admitted to the home from hospital with MRSA. Since then, I have had repeated urine infections, boils the size of large grapes and persistent chest and sinus infection producing green sputum. Four different courses of antibiotics have not helped. Approximately 6 months ago, I discovered a lump in my groin, which has grown consierably in size. Most of the time I am tired and lethargic sometimes even a shower is too much trouble. On Friday of last week I came across your website and tried turmeric. YOU HAVE NO IDEA HOW WELL IT WORKED (okay, maybe you might). I can already see a major difference in the lump and some secondary boils have drained. I was taking antibiotics at the time, but it seems like turmeric sped their process rapidly when working with them. Thanks so much everyone. I think I may have finally found peace.."

[BETTER BUT NOT CURED]  07/13/2009: Bobby from Chicago, IL writes: "I was diagnosed with MRSA last month and had to take Bactrim and my infection specialist suggested decolonising the staph/MRSA bacteria from skin after the treamtment. The boils went away and I felt good, but within two days of competing antiboitic treatment, I got a boil on my buttocks and I started reading earth clinic's natural cure and about turmeric. I started last week and with in 3 days, the MRSA boils were gone. I am taking 3 times half spoon turemric powder with warm water mixed with little ground pepper.

Thanks earth clinic and all those who contributed their knowledge. I am supposed to go to my doctor next month and I will tell him about this home remedy. The one question I have is about how long do I have to take turmeric after all the boils are gone? Also, is there any cure for MRSA?"

[YEA]  05/29/2009: Boil Baba from O-town, Canada writes: "I get staph boils on my face which is EXTREMELY embarrassing but I'm lucky that a miracle medicine exists which gets rid of them fast. No medicine cures any ailment as quickly as turmeric gets rid of staph boils. For boils that haven't yet come to a head, I normally take a large quantity of turmeric upon noticing a boil.. about 2 tbsp a day mixed in decaf green tea. The results are clear the next morning. If I'm lucky enough to have noticed the boil early in its formation, it will disappear overnight. If not, it still improves ridiculously fast.

AS FOR boils that have come to a head somewhat but haven't drained completely, I apply turmeric paste topically to the boil and cover it with a band-aid. When I pull it off the next day, the boil is drained. I know topical application is not recommended but TRY IT for boils that have come to a head and are still leaking and visibly big."

[YEA]  03/30/2009: Avinash from Rockville, Maryland writes: "I found to be MRSA positive in Sep 2008. I was getting boils mainly in my butt area.Tt spread to my eyes and then nose. Not to mention the pain of these boils. Mine was resitant to many antibiotics. First boil was in Sep, 2008 then in Oct,then Nov. My doctor was changing antiobiotics all the time and was saying that it shouldn't reoccur like this. Antibiotics used to work but then they reoccur when I stop antibiotics My blood tests showed that I was anemic. I tried changing soaps, cleaning clothes more frequently, use hibiclens etc. Nothing helped.

Then I came to know about turmeric which my wife read in earth clinic and I started taking daily in the night quarter spoon. I also started taking probiotic supplement along with as I read turmeric might upset stomach. I started taking it since Dec 25th and I never had any reoccurence since then. I stopped taking turmeric in Feb 2009 but in March again I got some signs of it (feverish but no boils) Then I started taking turmeric again. Since then no more boils.

I read more on turmeric and it seems it is anti inflammatory, anti bacterial and it helps body in many ways in addition to killing this MRSA. Please get good turmeric (Can be easily found in indian stores) and take daily along with probiotic supplement. I also read that it attacks when your immunity is low. So also start eating well including lots of fruits and vegetables."

[BETTER BUT NOT CURED]  03/02/2009: Cody from Annapolis, Maryland, USA writes: "First, I'd like to say 'Thank goodness for this website!' I wish I could reach through the internet and hug the people who created it, as well as all the visitors who shared their stories. I am embarrassed to admit that I used to think 'folk remedies' were useless. Desperation drove me to this site, and the information provided saved me so much worry, pain, and money that I wanted to share my story, too.

My husband and I were diagnosed with MRSA simultaneously. I don't know where we picked it up. Neither of us had been near a hospital, or an infected person (that we know of); we are both healthy, eat well, exercise. The infection caused a large boil on my husband's thigh. I developed three boils - one on the top of my right thigh, another on my lower left buttock, and one in my genital area. They were extremely painful. Our family doctor took cultures from the boils and sent them to a lab. In the meantime, he suspected a staph infection so he prescribed the antibiotic Bactrim. He advised us to soak the boils in warm water and keep them covered. I followed his instructions, but the boils grew larger and more painful, particularly the one in my genital area. I made an appointment to see my ob/gyn. My ob/gyn was shocked by the size and color of the boils. She said the genital one was very large and worrisome. She injected me with a numbing agent (and my God, that hurt so much - I am not scared of needles and am pretty tolerant of pain - but that shot was excruciating) and she sliced open the genital boil. She worked at it for several minutes, but could not get it to drain very much. Finally, she stopped and said she had done everything she could for now. She told me to go home and soak in warm water and try to get the boil to drain more. And she looked at the other two boils. She wanted to drain the one on my thigh as well but I was already bleeding and in pain so she told me to come back in a week. She also mentioned MRSA as a possible cause and said it was a 'nasty bug'. I have a 3 year old toddler at home and asked about possible transference of the virus. She said it was unlikely, but I mentioned that both my husband and I had it so obviously it had spread from one of us to the other. Just one more thing to worry about....

I went home, bleeding all the while from the cut, and set about doing what the doctors had told me. I soaked the boils constantly in a sitz bath, and I pressed warm washcloths gently on them. I am a neat freak so my house was already pretty spotless but I cleaned it top to bottom again, and washed all of our sheets and towels with hot water and bleach. I also washed our clothes in hot water. I was extremely careful in handling my child's food / drink and toys. (Luckily, it doesn't look like he's caught it!)

Despite soaking, and taking Bactrim twice a day as prescribed, the boils did not shrink. The genital boil that had been sliced open also did not drain. All the boils felt as though rocks were beneath the skin. They were that solid. And they were very inflamed / bruised in appearance.

Our family doctor called and confirmed that we did have MRSA. He said that, luckily, our strain was most susceptible to Bactrim so we should continue our prescription for another week. When I mentioned the boils were still present, he said I should go to the ER and have them lanced and drained. I said the ob/gyn had already lanced the one boil, but it hadn't drained. He said 'go to the ER'.

Well, at this point, the last thing I wanted to do was be sliced open again, and to what end? It hadn't worked before. The soaking hadn't worked either. I'd been doing that for over a week. Meanwhile, I had been searching the internet and found this website. I read most of the turmeric posts. I couldn't believe any of it, not really. I thought - If it's so simple, if this turmeric can really cure boils, why don't doctors tell people? Why not tell patients about turmeric before cutting them open?

So I didn't really believe the site, but I was desperate and in terrible pain. The boils were not getting better in the least. I really want to emphasize that part. They were not getting better at all. So my husband went and bought turmeric. I took some before I went to bed that night.

The next morning, I woke up and removed my bandages in the shower (I kept the buttock and thigh boils covered with gauze.) Each piece of gauze had drainage on it. I'm not kidding. This had never happened before. The genital boil was still there, of course, but for the first time, it felt less solid / immovable. I immediately took some more turmeric.

The next morning, again, more drainage. And now the boils were just a smidge smaller. They were shrinking! They weren't gone by any means, but they were on their way. And now it is eight days since I took Turmeric. All of the boils are essentially gone. There is still an almost imperceptible 'something' in two of the boils, but the one on my buttock is completely gone. The skin is still discolored, however. It looks like a fading bruise.

Turmeric saved me. If I ever have the misfortune to get one of those horrid boils again, I will start taking Turmeric the moment it appears. I think my boils took a long time (relatively) to go away once I took Turmeric because they were so inflamed to begin with, - if I had started sooner, they never would have grown so large.

No, Turmeric does not cure MRSA. For that, I took my antibiotic. But Turmeric does cure the symptoms of MRSA. The only side effect I experienced was a very slight flushed feeling when I took the first dose. It never happened again. If you are a skeptic, trust me - Turmeric works. I was once like you. I almost ended up in the ER. Thanks to this website, I avoided the pain and expense of the emergency room. I am so grateful for this site. And I will be returning to learn more about natural remedies.

Good luck to everyone."

I'm to the point of tears because I can't get rid of this thing and after being treated at the hospital with Zyvox (antibiotic), have been to my regular doctor-nothing seems to work. I have a lump in my armpit now and I think its growing, I started taking the Turmeric powder yesterday afternoon, then at night and also this morning. I don't see a "head" on my lump, so I'm worried that it wont burst open. Please help, do you guys think that there is a chance of bursting open inside of my body?

Thanks... Thanks for this site and for all of the good people that have taking the time to post their experiences with this ugly virus."

[YEA]  02/06/2009: Franciso from Dallas, Texas replies: "WOW!!! I posted yesterday my question about a boil bursting open inside my body... Well here is an update regarding the boil under my armpit. After reading all of the responses and posts, I also learn in this wonderful site about the Apple Cider Vinegar and its effects to stabilize the PH in the body. Yesterday, I was having such pain in my armpit to the point that I couldn't put my arm down cause of the pain, I took 2 table spoons of Wholefood's Organic Apple Cider Vinegar stright up, and an 8oz-glass of water with 2 table spoons of vinegar. I sipped the water-vinegar solution slowly and almost finished in about 1 hr. This morning (2/6/2009), I was pain free, and the redness is going away, I'm at work now writing this message (2:47 pm) and still sipping on my water-vinegar solution and my turmeric. All I have to say is that my pain is gone and that I'm very hopeful that this thing goes away.

Please change my previous post to a YEA! I have been spreading the word about this great site to all of the people I know...

Thanks!"

[YEA]  01/16/2009: Ursula from Lithonia, Ga writes: "Tumeric for MRSA infection:

I have a 16 year old daughter who gets these abscess on the back of her thighs and privates. Its terrible because its painful and she misses days of school. I didn't want to take her to the doctor for yet another round of antibiotics which I believe is the cause of this problem. I did some research on abscess and came accross the MRSA infection. This sounded like what was going on. I come to earth clinic for various things but when I saw the number of YEAs for the tumeric I was so relieved. I ran out (it was almost midnight and bought tumeric. I gave her some right away and have been giving more every 4 to six hours. We first noticed there was no more pain and she could sleep then the one abscess quickly rose to the top and drained and the one that was slowly swelling up quickly went down and is now draining quietly and painlessly. She did miss the entire week of school over this but we know what to do for next time. I also read here that many women say outbreaks came when their cycles began...she did start her cycle. So now we know the trigger. I've tried many remedies here with much success but I had to write about this one. Thank you earth clinic and all of you who share their stories."

[YEA]  01/10/2009: Anita from Jacksonville, Florida writes: "Two people in my family got MRSA. The rest of us took turmeric daily and never had a first occurrence of MRSA. We continue to take it daily.

Recently, A niece of mine had a very large and infected boil misdiagnosed as a spider bite. The doctor sliced off the top of the boil and the turmeric I had her take just before going to the doctor came gushing out of the boil. The doctor was amazed for some of the turmeric (orange-yellow) came out with the fluid. The wound healed quickly even though it had been sliced open. Turmeric is amazing!!"

[QUESTION]  01/07/2009: Gail from Sacramento, CA, USA writes: "Staph with Sporotrichosis:

Hello,

PLEASE HELP!
My 11-yr old twin girls have had nodular and atopic eczema since they were two. Six months ago, they each received scratches from a blackberry bush on their legs. Soon thereafter, small red blisters began popping up near the scratch. Within a week, their legs were covered in pinkk-red bumps. Their Pediatrician put them on Prednizone for a week. But the suppression of their immune systems just made matters worse! Their usual numular eczema grew larger and spread as did the new red bump rash. We spent thousands of dollars on Naturopathics and "Eating for Your Type" doctors to absolutely NO avail! They gave up and sent us back to a Dermatologist who said the girls now have "staph." We've done a round of Bacterim, which helped somewhat, then Erythrocin which did nothing, now we're back to Bacterim again. I saw your site and read about Tumeric for staph. So I've been giving them Tumeric (250 mgs), Jarro-dophilus (3.5 mil),Omega 3-6-9 combo, Calcium/Magnesium (500/250 mgs) Colloidal Silver and fish Oil. Two Chinese doctors instructed me to remove ALL red meat, shellfish, dairy, peanuts & tropical fruit from their diet, which we've done. After showers, they also soak in a tub with various "remedies." But their thighs, buns & backs are still REALLY broken out. At night when one's cortisol/pain tolerance levels are lower, the intense itching and pain is SO bad it's pitiful! My normally very positive happy girls are sobbing! They only get sleepy after taking kids acetomenaphen and antihistamines. I've researched medical sites and found an infection called Sporotrichosis Schnecki that one gets from a scratch from a rose or berry bush. It also causes staph. No one at ANY nearby Lab seems to have a test for it. Is there ANYONE who has had something similar to this? If so, please tell me what you did to cure it? Also, anything for intense itching? We've already tried ACV, baking soda, Vit E, Virgin Olive Oil, Coconut Oil, Honey, Oatmeal, popular creams, zinc Oxide, hydrocortizone & triamcinalone steriod creams (yuk!) and various baths. PLEASE HELP!!!"

[YEA]  12/11/2008: Margaret from South, USA writes: "Turmeric worked for me!! Thanks to all the feedback I am able to get on with my holidays! I would not have so readily tried it as I was a big skeptic. I have been suffering from reoccurring staph infections since the beginning of the year. They are incredibly painful and I tend to get flu like symptoms along with them. I have had one the top of my va jay jay (the size of a cocktail winnie), my rectum (thought it was hemorrhoid at first), behind my ear (the size of a silly puddy container), a sty in my eye and my latest which began on Monday on my vaginal opening swelling both on the outside and the inside this one is by far the worse. I woke up this morning and was barely able to move much less walk. It hurt just to roll over. I was in dire need of relief being so close to Christmas then I found this website. I knew the drill , based on the one behind my ear it was going to take a full week before it popped and then about 2 days to fully drain. How can I wait until Monday for it to pop I need to go shopping. I was desperate but did not allow myself to believe that the testaments would really work for me. But I went to whole foods immediately and bought the turmeric powder, garlic pills, lysine and probotics ( I'm prone to yeast infections and constipation which I read is a side effect of turmeric). I took the half glass of warm water with 2 tsps of turmeric powder and also applied a cotton pad with antibiotic pain relieving ointment mixed with turmeric powder. To be honest the boil was in such a tender spot that it was painful just to get the paste rubbed in good. I left it for two and half hours and then had to look because it was hurting every time I moved , even a cough hurt. I could not believe my eyes when I removed it, I saw the spot were it would open and it looked much further along than I expected. I took a sterile needle a barely scraped the spot which immediately began to drain. It so surprised me I was not prepared to collect the pus and I pray that I have not spread it somewhere else. In my past boils it was very painful to burst and then it took a few hours to actually really produce the puss. This was almost pain free. The majority of the puss came out right away. I am still in shock. I was able to put a band-aid with the neosporin and actually go shopping for about two hours. About 6 and half hours after my one and only dose of the internal and external treatment it was raring to drain some more. It is now mostly drained which I would have expected to have taken at least 24 more hours once it popped. I can go to bed and rest knowing that I will be able to function tomorrow, this has truly saved my Christmas. Thank You! to everyone who shared their story before me, it's the best present I could have ever gotten. Now I am on a hunt to stop the boils from ever starting -- Happy Holidays hope this will be beneficial for someone else."
