Here is my daily tonic. 2 tbls of ACV, 4 teaspoons of raw honey preferably from your local beekeeper and 1 tsp of Ceylon cinnamon. I heat up a little water in a coffee cup and put the cinnamon in it and let it steep for 20 minutes. I then pour the cinnamon into my drinking container and add the ACV and honey, stir and fill up the bottle with purified water and drink it 30 minutes before each meal. Amazing health benefits in honey and cinnamon and you won't even taste the ACV...

Without a problem, you can take ACV with jaggery, it is more healthy. Chromium in Jaggery will regulate sugar as well. If you could find jaggery powder without sulphites it is even great. Good Health

Oxymel
Posted by Jc (Savannah, Georgia) on 04/26/2011

I had learnt a while back that the ancient Greeks used to make a drink from vinegar or old wine (vinegar :D), honey and water; it was called Oxymel.

I used to make this drink and with some ice cubes, it's a refreshing and delicious drink. One must experiment to get the taste right and I don't remember the exact recipe I used. Still this may be a good way of getting both ACV and (local) honey in together.

Another way I found to take it was to add ACV to "organic" apple juice; you don't taste the ACV this way; it tastes only like apple juice.

I drink this concoction in the mornings before I head out. ACV with Mother and Local honey, and some water. I usually only do about a tbsp of each and do a "shot" of it. Do you make a large glass and sip? Thanks for the link also, I'm excited to read it.

I used organic apple cidar vinegar with mother. On the bottle it recommends adding a tablespoon of black strap molasses.... This taste really good. I do this at night and it seems to help me sleep better. I add the Apple Cider Vinegar to a warm glass of water and add bsm.

Well, as for the taste I might have a sugestion, why not use it as a delightfull salad dressing using olive oil, ACV, you can also add to that some garlic, "wich has as much awesome propriety *see for exemple http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/druginfo/natural/300.html*" honey and leek. All together with salad and vegies, you get a good side dish wich is also an awesome health cocktail!

I stirred about 1 TBS of ACV to my serving of ranch dressing today. It made the dressing taste similar to Blue Cheese salad dressing. Much more palatable than water/acv shots I've been taking :)

I use ACV to make salad dressing - juice of one lemon, 1/4 cup ACV, 1/4 cup H2O, garlic, onion, sea salt, ground pepper - put in glass jar and shake vigorously, add to mixed greens - tastes fantastic!!

Keep it simple, could not stand the smell, ect. I found by just mixing it with Lemon seltzer water was the easy and tasty way for me. I get 8 OZ of water, and for right now, a little over a teaspoon of ACV. The big bottles are priced right.

I could not STAND the taste of the ACV. I saw a recipe to add it to raspberry tea, so I added it to my flavored hot herbal tea, with a little honey, and it is amazing! You will not taste the vinegar! I found it tasted best when it was very hot. So easy, I love tea anyways so I am so excited to find this recipe!

I would not heat ACV as it most likely kills the healthy bacteria that helps heal us. :/

I take Apple Cider Vinegar (ACV) every day, just put it on your salad in place of salad dressing... Its strong, but it is much easier in a salad. Also add tomatos to help tone down The ACV..

A very refreshing ACV "cocktail": In a short glass, add a few ice cubes, 2 tablespoons ACV (with the 'mother'), top off with ginger ale, and a dash of bitters. Goes down really easy.

My recipe for elixir (twice/day on weekdays, 3x/day on weekends): 1 tbspn _____s ACV, strained juice of 1 lemon, 12 oz room temp distilled water, for flavor-2 tbspn honey (or grade B pure maple syrup or agave nectar), and 1/8 tspn of organic cayenne pepper.

I don't use as a fasting cleanse. I continue to eat (healthy, live, un-processed food/drink) and use this as a supplement. If this regimen is maintained along with exercise, no fasting is necessary.

I found a really delicious way to drink ACV. I had struggled with drinking ACV with baking soda and water and the taste kept me from being consistent drinking it. Then, based on someone's comment, I decided to make a juicy version. I take an empty 16 oz. Water bottle and mark it in quarters with a marker so I know how much a quarter dose is. To find out where to mark it, add 3 oz of water and mark the line. Then repeat this until you have 4 markings. Then I empty the now marked bottle and start making my mixture. I add 4 TBSP of ACV, then add roughly 1 TBSP of baking soda and fill up the bottle with filtered water and shake it gently. Then for each dose (I drink it am and pm), I pour 1/4 of the bottle into a juice glass and add a natural blueberry acai or blueberry pomegranite juice to the glass (I like Northland brand). I add a fair amount and add an ice cube or two. I keep it in the fridge until it's time to make a new batch. It's delicious and you only barely taste the vinager. Plus I'm getting the benefit of blueberry and other juices. Give it a try.

I add 1 tablespoon ACV, splash of Texas Pete hot sauce, dash of herbal salts (or sea salt)in a six ounce juice glass and add tomato juice and stir. Takes the place of an evening Bloody Mary. Celery stalk optional.

if you are just drinking Heinz apple cider vinegar it is not doing the same thing as if you are using the organic, raw vinegar with the active mother in it.

WARNING!

Nice idea but you zap all the enzymes out of your ACV when you use the microwave. In fact it does this to ALL your food. Read it up on the net.

I don't usually go for "health food" or "organic" or "natural" remedies... but I'm totally convinced about apple cider vinegar. I hope I don't offend anybody on this site; I put a big splash of acv in a 32 oz bottle with a packet of peach ice tea mix and lots of water and ice. I love it! Another recipe is to add a splash of acv and an equal splash of lime juice to 32 oz of water and ice. Sweeten with agave (another new discovery!) to taste. Wonderful!!

I became a vegetarian 5 months ago and am also a breastfeeding mom. I thought my loss of energy was simply a side effect from the birth and being up a lot at night. I started the "tonic" you describe a few weeks ago - a friend suggested it to me. WOW! My husband and I call it our "hippie drink" - 1-2tsp black strap molasses 1-2tsp apple cider vinegar (with the mother) 1-2tsp blue agave in purified water (about 8 oz.) - it will really rev you up in the morning an make you feel cleansed.

I have to hurdle over the smell more than the taste, but their is some ways that are not so bad. I like it in a can of spinach. First I drain the liquid then I pour in the ACV till it fills the can. I like it right out of the can after its been refrigerated, I'll serve it on a Pyle of lettuce with a small can of tuna. It's very refreshing on a hot day to freshen me up and help cleanse my digestive track. I also like it when my wife makes her red Mexican tomato/chili salsa I put it on almost everything. ACV is very interesting, Here in the Southwest we have a high amount of Alkalinity which hinders our effort to keep a green garden, and my dogs get a splash or two in their bath water for fleas, I read the other day somewhere aboout it's use cleansing the scalp, The trick here is figuring out how to get over the smell and on occasion the taste. "If God gives you lemons, find somebody with Tequila" LOL. Just make it fun.

Good luck

Tams, I read your information and I wanted to let you know that I am an insulin dependent diabetic and I use honey regularly with almost no effect to my sugar. I believe this is because honey is almost a pure food. Also the recipe I will give you tastes wonderful to me. I drink 2-4 mugs of it each day.

RECIPE: 1-2 tbsp. of honey, 1-2 tbsp. of cider vinegar, 1-2 cups of hot water, sprinkles of cinnamon and ginger, along with other sweetener so that it tastes good as a morning tonic. For each measure keep the number the same you will find that the taste will be better.

The benefits of the honey, ginger, and cinnamon are wonderful additions to the vinegar. Honey is a healing agent also after about a year it helped my allergies decrease, cinnamon reduces the glucose effect of the honey, and ginger decreases inflammation. I am diabetic and have no sugar problems with the use of this recipe. I have also noticed the benefit of reduced appetite, increased healthy feeling, loss of arthritis pain, more regular bowel movements and NO ACID REFLUX or pain from the combination. Along with that I had no pain this month like I normally do. I buy a local honey and if I use under 3 tbsp. at one time I do not take any insulin. I should be taking over 5 units for this amount of sugar but if I do my body goes into shock. Part of the reason could be how the cinnamon and ginger I use with my recipe work with the honey.

This apple acv cure is an excellent cure indeed. My uncle taught me the worst tasting remedy I've ever heard of, but it'd cure colds in no less than 3 days. My mom used to give it to me, and I had to plug my nose in order to even drink the stuff down, but it was amazing. What to do is, you throw an entire clove of garlic (not just a small piece, but the whole clove, peeled of course) into a 1 quart jar (one whole clove of garlic per quart), or even a 2 quart would work. Fill the jar the rest of the way with ACV, and then, you put the lid on the jar, and let it sit on the counter overnight to start the fermentation process. We would sometimes let it ferment for two days, but no more than that usually to keep bacteria from growing. After that, you can store it for a very long time in the refrigerator to use when needed, leaving the cloves of garlic in it. Then, when a cold would strike, we'd put about 4oz of the liquid into a coffee cup, and then microwave it for about 30 seconds (to warm it up a little, but not make it too hot), then to get rid of the acidity and horrible taste of ACV, put 2 tablespoons of honey, and then about 1 tablespoon of lemon juice (all of which you can get at a grocery store). Vuala. We call it "Natures Pennicilin" because it has just enough bacteria from the mother of vinegar, plus it pulls the antioxidants from the garlic, and honey helps it spread through the body quicker as it's good for you, and the tablespoon full of lemon juice is enough to flavor it almost to a tea-like state, as well as an excellent source of ascorbic acid (vit c). I had a cold and tried the onion thing recently... and was still sick for a week. Tried the ACV cure on a wart, and it worked overnight... Amazing how ACV can work for the entire body. :)

I just started taking ACV in order to help my allergies and to see if it would to anything for my moderate acne. Even just a teaspoon in a cup of tea made me almost gag so I developed this recipe:

8 oz. orange juice
2 tablespoons ACV
1 tablespoon lemon juice

You can't taste the ACV at all! It's a real pick me up in the morning. I automatically feel like I have more energy.

Using the V8 is a great idea though! I will have to try it out!

Just keep in mind that of everything that you could mix ACV with, Sunny D is probably one of the worst. Is there even any real juice in that stuff? It's primarily sugar and artificial flavors which could be contributing to your weight problem. I'd go for 100% organic juice if I were you.
