Sea Salt and Baking Soda for Teeth Health

My Aunt (86 years old) and I were talking about how toothpaste was unavailable when she was a little girl during WWII. So everyone brushed their teeth with Sea salt and Baking soda 1:1 ratio placed in the palm of their hand. Wet your toothbrush with water and dipped it in the SS/BS powder. She said everyone's teeth were so white and healthy back then.
