N-Acetylcysteine

My doctor recommended this as an over the counter supplement for OCD that has been increasingly running my life—not only through compulsive response but also as avoidance. I took 600 mg this afternoon with lunch, unsure of what to expect, as I'd read that it sometimes took up to a month to be effective, at doses of up to 2,000 mg. As I am sensitive to medications, it gave me relief within an hour. The intensity went down and I was naturally able to pick up a task I'd been avoiding with very little stress. For reference, I am 5'2 and 115lbs, and as mentioned, highly sensitive. I also take an ssri that was effective for the more intense symptoms but still left a lot to deal with. I have just taken another dose, as the effectiveness lasted me about 4-5 hours. I hope this helps someone!
