I purchased a wool hat for a ski trip and put it on my head. That was 25 yrs ago. I've had an itchy scalp and my hair falling out ever since. I tried everything, some things give temp. relief, but it never goes away. Have been using pepermint oil shampoo and aloe vera for hair and scalp. It helps keep it calmer but still itches.

I have seen a skin dr 24 yrs ago and she says it's just a bad case of dandruff. Finally gave me a prescription steroid foam, when I told the pharmacist what it was for they were shocked and said, this could cause hair loss. So I didn't try it. Have been given medications but the side effects are much worse so I have not taken them.

Have tried Castor oil but it just makes it worse and more painful scalp. Guess I'll try Everything listed here for 2 months and hope to kill this thing once and for all!! I told the dr it seemed like I had a microscopic burrowing mite or something in my scalp. They act like I'm crazy. I'm a very clean person, shave, bathe, wash, daily. My personal hygeine has always been very top notch. I now have balding spots on my head. I've always had a very full head of hair but it's now super thinning out. Very frustrated. Scalp hurts worse now with castor oil, considered continuing to put it on at night thinking maybe it's killing it and that's why my scalp condition is getting worse? But I think I need to stop using it and but some walnut stuff and sulfure pills. ACV, Peroxide, rubbing alchohol, TTree oil, Baking soda. I've used almost all of these in the past, show some relief but does not go away. So I'll try the walnut and sulfure. Praying this goes away and hair grows back. Thanknyou all for your input. Convinced it's this scalp ring worm. God bless.
