Vitamin K2

Hypertension. There's 90% disinformation on the internet & it's difficult to tell the good from the bad. No, I don't believe your site is in the 90%, however the sites I viewed for Vitamin K2 are all flogging the stuff without any info, maybe K2 is not for us. But what confuses me is, we've got voltage dependant calcium ions moving into the muscle fibers surrounding arteries and bronchial tubes, for contraction and out again for relaxing muscle fiber, dilation, the usual everyday working muscles. And into the soft muscle tissue surrounding the heart arteries and bronchial tubes in the case of hypertension & asthma, not exiting but staying there. Causes can be, bad food or stress, both are choices. Plus, calcium, just a millimeter away, on the inside of the artery wall, perhaps preventing the soft muscle tissue from dilating, or just filling up the pipe. I suppose the blood carries the calcium there. Why? What causes the calcium to stop and remain on the arterial wall? What is the pathway and who/what directs it there? K2 or whatever doesn't address the disease, only the symptoms.

As I read your post and see you have a healthy lifestyle by running a marathon. I was thinking of a book I read about excess fat in our diets coming from oils, processed junk food, maybe excess dairy meat. A cardiologist named Dr. Esselstyn has helped folks reverse heart disease by lowering their fat intake basically. It has helped me to lower my fat grams from 60 to 30 grams a day, but I am very petite and short.

What on earth does " cuffed " mean?

EC: Cuff:

"The cuff consists of an inner layer made of rubber that fills with air and squeezes your arm. The cuff's outer layer is generally made of nylon and has a fastener to hold the cuff in place." Source: http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/high-blood-pressure/HI00016

I was diagnosed a few days ago with High Blood Pressure. Last year I was in a terrible accident with a bus, whoich left me with a few multiple anxiety disorders. Since I was 19, I have practiced Yoga and vegetarianism, I am 57 years of age presently. I tried the blood pressure mediceine once and felt like I was going to die. After speaking with a few friends including a 33, 52 and 43 year old, whom each had been diagnosed with high blood pressure, hypertension, etc. they suggested I not take the medicine. I not only planned to not take it, I told the doctor that if anyone was to prescribe anything for me, it would have to be me. I have beefed up my Yoga routine, I have no weight issues, or had a background, other than before I became a vegetarian, I beleive that I can get my bp down. I had ACV in my cabinet, and wanted to remind myself of what a marvelous home remedy it is. I would love to report, my findings in a week. Presently my bp is 180/100. I am learning to relax in an unrelaxed society.

Osiris, just saw your e-mail on Earth Clinic. B/P is 184/87 at 1am. Is the ACV working for you? I'm asking you because yours is or was as high as mine. Hope it came down. Thanks

My dad suffers from hypertension for more than a decade and has been on prescribed medication that caused so much side effect, one of which is insomnia. I stumbled on this great website and most importantly, blessed by your advice, he is now taking apple cider vinegar with honey twice a day, do you recommend to add baking soda to the drink? What about giving him sea salt water on regular basis? Please give us your valuable advice, my mum's acid reflux was healed after taking your advice of taking ACV plus baking soda. Thank you!

apple cider vinegar really works! me and my husband experimented to give it a try for he has hypertension. usually his reading is 135/86 after taking his htn meds. he took the prescribed 2 tsps plus a glass of water and to our amazement, he had a reading of 120/60 for his bp and he never get that low even with htn meds. acv really does work. give it a try, it would save you from complications of medications.

HYPERTENSION:

Acceptable Range. What is it? Mine goes from 117/65 to 144/82

We can't take what the doctor says as too high or too low. The only range you see quoted, heads up, into the danger zone. It implies pressure can only go one way. Not true. Our system is not on idle all the time. We are working, worrying and relaxing, all of these, all the time. My heart and the whole system adjusts to the varying loads.

My lows happen 20 minutes after exercise, ACV, breakfast, flaxseed, magnesium, potassium, fish oil, and sitting and reading. The highs are usually after I get home from driving around, or are a bit angry. For example, I've just begun swimming again after decades of not doing it. After the first time I drove home during lots of after school traffic, waited 5 minutes and BP was 146/93. Sat and waited another 10 minutes and BP was 130/80.

A range doesn't only go up, it also goes down.
What are the dangers [?] if any of too low? What's too low? All I know is, a bit dizzy.

Doctors tell us, 95% of high BP is "essential', which only means they don't know what the cause is. Breathing, eating, sleeping are essential not high BP. The medical jargon is designed to scare us into buying more drugs that cause "rebound' [addiction]

Is there any time when high BP is necessary? When running 300 metres for example, or being attacked, should my pressure be sitting nicely at 120/70, regardless of what I do?

How about an activity related bar graph [not age related] plus a poison related graph directed at those with a reasonable diet. Bars would be green, orange, red with the double numbers underneath. A double bar for the double number.

If you have information on an acceptable range please tell EC. John.

If one is on blood pressure medication and gets off without slowly getting off, the blood pressure will go up considerably. happened to me. it would depend of what kind of meication. in my case it was clonidine .1mg - 2 tablets three times a day.. just thought you should know it might have been your medication. good luck.

Magnesium and also calcium/magnesium supplements can lower blood pressure, prevent strokes, heart attacks etc. if you are deficient. Many prescription drugs actually cause magnesium deficiency, (try googling this, it's amazing). Several books are available on this subject.

Try cutting out the fish oil . Fish oil can become easily rancid and may not be good for optimal health.

Just finished two weeks of trying the a ACV with garlic and V-8 and experienced zero difference in my blood pressure.

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

That could be because V8 is loaded with table salt which is horrible for you!
