                                            I, too, had a serious problem with thirst (would wake up every 90 minutes at night to guzzle a quart of water). I had been limiting my salt intake because I was sick in other ways and was trying to "eat healthy."
                                                                                    
                                                                                                                            Randomly, I would eat a burger or a soup and sleep through the night and feel better. Finally, I realized it was the sodium! I increased my salt intake dramatically and that IMMEDIATELY solved my 2 year thirst problem.
