Brussel Sprout and broccoli sprouts both contain Sulforaphane which is very powerful anti-fungal, if you choose not to eat it then Sulforaphane or broccoli sprouts supplement along with turmeric pills and it can help. In a study by NIH Broccoli Sprouts contain 10 to 100 times more sulforaphane than mature plants. Most grocery stores have it in the produce section

Is there any difference between Borax detergent booster and Borax all-natural detergent booster & multi-purpose household cleaner? They are both made by Borax and have similar packaging with slightly different wording.

Hi Marsh,

Wow, that sounds dreadful.

In her shoes I think I would try 1, 000 mg of liposomal vitamin C three times a day. It is much more absorbable than regular C. Sublingual b-12 may be helpful, too.

Does she have Trigeminal Neuralgia? Or it is just that shingles are affecting that nerve? Mullein Root Tincture (Beneficial Botanicals sells it) is a less common herbal remedy but good for pain. It is an anti-inflammatory and has been use for Trigeminal Neuralgia. It is healing to nerves. Shingles affects the nerves. I think it would be worth a try.

I found that Eucalyptus essential oil was helpful for shingles. I would use it topically, with a carrier oil (coconut oil would be a good carrier.) Vicks Vapor rub has a lot of Eucalyptus and would be an option. Hopewell Essential Oils sells a couple of blends for Shingles. (If you create an account you have access to the testimonials on the site which are helpful. This is my favorite source of high quality oils.)

Other things like avoiding dairy and sugar made a difference for my kids with chicken pox, so I wouldn't be surprised if it helped Shingles as well.

Earth Clinic has a lot of information about BHT for viruses; that is something else to look into.

I hope your friend finds something very helpful soon. Let me know how she does.

Iodine for cysts? I have a cyst on my urethra - I should apply iodine to that and it will go away? Or is this only for certain cysts? I've had it for years, apply estrogen cream to keep it small. If I miss a few days, it enlarges and I struggle to pee. I'd be afraid iodine would burn in that sensitive spot, being female.

Thanks "Mama". Your recommendations on board! What's your thought on this: My girlfriend awoke with shingles 3 weeks ago. It's been brutal - excruciting pain along her Trigeminal nerve, 3 ER visits (she's been there since 6am today), Gabapentin, botox injected into her scalp, a host of other scary drugs that have helped for a day or two. I'm wondering if the fillers and botox she injects herself with frequently could be part of the problem, or one of her 3 facelifts. Her painful episodes are enough to almost sign up for Shingrex.

Hello Cate, thank you very much for answering. It helps me so much, that somebody wants to help. I will try it with selenium an so on. Vitamin D in high dosis I take it in the moment. Today I´m in the third day where I take the homeopatic remedy. It helps as all treatments a little bit. Perhaps it helps someone else. At the first day I took syphilinum C 200 two globulis (or two drops as in which type you have)(it´s for somebody who weight has lost and when it is worser in the evening with the itching, burning, stinging and so on), then wait for a day, then the third day psorinum C 30 + croton tiglium C 30+ staphesagria C 30 two globulis or two drops of each three times a day for 4 days a week . And cell salts two times a day. two tablets each of them in a cup (1/4) of water. The cell salts are kalium sulphuricum, natrum muriaticum (natrium chloratum), calcera sulphuricum (calcium sulfuricum), silicea. I hope it will heal somebody who read the posts. I will write if it helps.

 Re: Nerve Damage

Sounds like nerves pinched in a subluxation. I had a similar situation from when I was transferred from a gurney to a hospital bed. Medical staff had no idea what to do so they ignored it. Spent 2 weeks prone and unable to take a deep breath.

Ordinarily, I would have gotten straight onto my inversion table when I got home but couldn't do the stairs to get to the basement SOOO I got a TrueBack, sat on the top step of the stairs (I was afraid if I got down flat on the floor I wouldn't be able to get back up due to the other issues), put it behind me with the high end toward my head and the low end right against my butt and laid back on it. Did some minor adjustments and slightly twisted my torso back and forth to relax the muscles and just laid there, concentrating on relaxing the muscles that were holding it out of place. It took a couple of minutes but then the muscles let go and everything went back to where it belongs. It was SUCH a relief even after only 2 weeks.

Can't imagine the thrill after 5 years!!

In addition to Art's recommendations, you may also like to try;

  • Vitamin B12 (highly beneficial to nerve health)
  • Magnesium chloride (1 tbs in a foot bath or 1 cup for a body bath. For 15-30 minutes)

Sounds like you've tried everything! You're very strong for not giving up!

In dogs, there is a type of scabies that cannot be eradicated by using internal or external treatments. It can only be killed by improving the immune system. 'Selenium' has been used successfully for this. Perhaps you may have a type similar to this.

In addition to what you're already taking, the following taken daily, will help to strengthen your immune system;

  • Selenium
  • Iodine
  • Vitamin D
  • Bone broth (boil raw bones for 2 hours, discard bones)
  • Raw fresh garlic (4 daily, crushed, mixed into butter or extra virgin olive oil, with food)
  • Raw fresh radish (2 small)
  • Beetroot (1 small, or ½ medium size, raw, grated in salad or cooked)
  • The juice & pulp of 1 small Lemon or Lime
  • Unfiltered Extra Virgin Cold pressed Hemp seed oil (1 tsp)
  • ½ or 1 cabbage leaf or any other cruciferous vegetable E.g broccoli. It's ok to eat these raw on occasion but if eaten daily should be cooked (boiled & water discarded) to avoid affecting the thyroid.
  • Potato (peeled, cooked, no green)
  • Sauerkraut 1 tsp (must be from the refrigerator section as it has 'live' bacteria)
  • Milk thistle tea (1 tsp seeds, ground up, boiled 5 minutes)
  • Olive leaf tea (5-10 leaves boiled 5 minutes)
  • Wild caught, cold water fish eg. salmon (3 times a week)

The reason for the above in bold, is because they are the most important for immune health.

Eliminate the following;

  • All grains, as they produce yeast (may make scabies thrive)
  • Vegetable fats or oils (except for extra virgin coconut oil/fat & extra virgin olive oil)
  • Alcohol
  • sugar (genuine honey is good)
  • Condiments such as soy sauce,

Use Himalayan pink salt or any other natural salt in cooking. Avoid table salt.

Use Filtered water when drinking or cooking.

Avoid the following cookware; aluminium, non-stick & enamel. Instead use stainless steel & oven-safe glassware for baking.

I wish you all the best Tebora...
