Black Walnut Tincture Kills Nail Fungus

GH (BC, Canada) on 06/24/2025

I have completely cured my own and another person's fungal nails (big toes) using black walnut tincture. Fill a jar with green walnuts with the husks on, fill remaining space in jar with Everclear grain alcohol, seal and let sit, shaking maybe once a week or so. In one case the toe was dipped into a shot glass of the tincture for a few minutes each morning, in the other simply applied with a dropper once a day. Die-off was fastest with the immersion, but some inflammation occurred. This was easily resolved by immersion in Common Plantain tincture made by gathering the leaves and blending to pulp in a solution of grain alcohol (Everclear) Plantago Major or Common Plantain is extraordinarily effective for healing and infections and should always be on hand: make the tincture in summer for winter use when the plant is not available.

Bentonite Clay & Psyllium Husk for Metal and Chemical Toxicities

GH (BC, Canada) on 06/24/2025
5 out of 5 stars

I used bentonite clay and pysllium husk shakes for several years for aluminum, mercury and petrochemical removal from the body. The results were confirmed by blood test, to the considerable surprise of the person doing the test. Clay has a power of attraction and will bind heavy metals etc. so that they can be carried out of the body from the GI tract. Remember that what we have ingested the body will either excrete or metabolize and if it cannot do either, it will sequester toxins in the fat, organs etc. Attempting to remove these substances from where the body has put them WITHOUT providing an additional mechanism of excretion such as clay is IMHO very foolish. If the body could have excreted them in the first place it would have! But provide the additional and effective mechanism via bentonite clay and I believe the body will migrate the toxins to the GI tract for excretion. The body has an intelligence after all. DMPS "tests" for mercury etc. are particularly dangerous IMHO as they pull into the blood stream what is probably a greater quantity of heavy metals than was ever present during the ingestion phase. I saw such a case lead to rapid onset dementia and death.

Re: Post-Menopausal Weight Gain

HisJewel (New York) on 06/24/2025

Hi Christi,

Diets sometimes work different for some than others; and yes health issues can be a problem; however, I have listed a few that knocked some pounds off for me in the past:

  • An easy diet once you get the swing of it, is one meal a day any time after a certain time. I did this as a consecration once, one meal after 3 o'clock. It was to be for few months, and I lost about forty pounds before the event. I was in my fifties at the time. It was easy because I did not have to change what I ate. I stayed on the diet several more months, losing about sixty pounds total. I kept the weight off until I started back with the extra meals during a vacation.
  • The cabbage diet works for someone who wants a quick weight lost. I lost about fourteen (14) pounds in 7 days. I would not suggest it, because a person may not realize that too much body fluid is quickly lost in this diet. But I must admit I was happy with my achievement. However, the weight slowly returned at my regular diet.
  • The Myo-Inositol also worked for me. The pounds are still off. It is said to balance hormones, and I guess my hormones must have been whacky. I lost about Five pounds each month, that was about 20 pounds the first four months. The weight lost slowed down after that. Overall since I started taking the Myo-Inositol a few years ago I have lost about 35 pounds altogether. When in doubt take the amount listed on the bottle. However, I still take two 500 mg capsules for a total 1000mgs daily. I still take it, because I feel like it helps me with stress.

I have the same issue of getting poison ivy from our dogs who must rub up against it. I started squirting hydrogen peroxide on a washcloth (making it pretty wet) and wiping both pups down when they come in and I don't know where they've been outside.

Dawn Dish Soap & Green Scrubbie for Poison Ivy

Sacha (Cincinnati, Ohio) on 06/24/2025

We've tried all the OTC poison ivy products and they do ok if you use them early on. Someone told me this remedy a few years ago. My grown son got poison ivy and I told him to jump in the shower with a (clean) green scrub sponge and some Dawn and give the rash a good scrub. He did and it was gone within a day. I recently got poison ivy and did this and the rash stopped itching and was getting better but then it came back - it's systemic with me so I need to focus on whole body picture, not just the rash. Started taking activated charcoal a few days ago and now checking out what has worked for others.

Re: Grover's Disease Rash

Sarah (Virginia) on 06/24/2025

I was diagnosed with Grovers Disease from my long covid of 3 years. Mainly on my chest and bra line. Went dermotologist and confirmed. Gave me rx ointment, helps a little but I get flares from when I mow grass, sunshine, extreme night sweats. Now under my arm pits I'm starting to break out. I switched to alumimiun free deordorant thinking that would help. Bra line is huge rash. Tried using shower to shower body powder to help keep dry but irritation from sports bra or regular bra irritate bad. Going to nutrition store to see what they can suggest as rx ointment only seems to work a little. Covid did so many things to our immune system, brought back epstein barre which triggered the Grovers. I knows there's no cure but I have to work in public, and that bright red itchy chest is very ugly, plus if I wear a nigher neck shirt, it makes me sweat more and only makes it worse. I need help! I recently starting taking ivermection in hopes that works too. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

You can also use castor oil on the lipoma. ACV is very acidic for the skin.

Oatmeal Tea Bag for Chicken Pox

Faith (West Melbourne, Fl) on 06/24/2025

The oatmeal bath for relief from chickenpox is a wonderful solution. I am 69 with osteoporosis and back issues so climbing in and out of the tub is quite challenging for me. So what I did was take oatmeal and put it into a Tea filter bag. They are bags that you can buy at the grocery store or health food store if you wanted to brew your own fresh herbal tea. They are basically empty teabags. I took the raw oatmeal, stuffed it in there, folded the top down and put staples all across it so it could not leak out. Put it in a cup of hot water and let it sit for a few minutes. Then took the bag out and squeeze some of the moisture out and applied the bag onto my chickenpox area. It feels a little slimy from the oatmeal, but it coats the area and it has the same effect as soaking in an oatmeal bath . I literally reapplied it every time it would start itching. Just take the little slimy teabag and rub it on the areas and you’ll get instant relief. I kept mine in a ceramic cup and use it throughout the day. It helped tremendously with the itching. I did read that the calamine lotion will help dry them up and bring them to a head quicker. So maybe use the teabag every other time to the calamine to speed up the process and get relief.

Propolis Relieves Toothaches

Cheryl S. (N.J.) on 06/23/2025
5 out of 5 stars

Sometimes a tooth is sore because of gentle pressure from other teeth that are not growing 100% straight. Kind of like having slow-motion braces. When this happens, I find that brushing that area gently a little more helps stimulate the circulation and ease the pressure. Short of invisalign or braces, this will keep happening over time.

But in the case of a cavity or some unknown irritant, I use propolis. This is nature's anti-biotic. Inside bee hives, there is no virus, no bacteria, no mold, no foreign anything. It is purer than any operating room in any hospital. (Hint: Always have a bottle of propolis in the fridge for when you might want an anti-biotic. Take 2 capsules 3 or 4 times a day for a week to 10 days, just like you would a chemical anti-biotic, but without the harsh destructive effects to digestion and bloodstream.)

So at night I twist open a capsule of bee propolis (make sure to get a brand that claims it does not destroy the bees or the hive) and shake a tiny bit on the end of my finger. I press the propolis into the outside of the tooth that is aching. I do it again and press the propolis along the inside of the tooth. You do lose some of the granules because it's not easy doing this kind of gymnastics on the inside of your mouth, but eventually you will get the feel of it. Usually one night of the propolis takes care of anything that is aching in a tooth. Rarely have I had to do it two nights in a row, but that's also happened. It's a total godsend and propolis is also an energy food for the body. No harmful side-effects. How many medications can make that claim?

Apple Cider Vinegar Working on Lipoma

Vickie (Hudson Valley NY) on 06/23/2025

I have a lipoma on my upper arm, which is very noticeable (almost the size of a quarter). I started using ACV, but instead of ingesting it, I applied it directly to the lipoma. I took a cotton ball, which I cut in half and flattened it a bit so it wouldn't be too bulky, and applied ACV directly on it so it was pretty soaked, then placed that on top of the lipoma and secured it with surgical tape, which I found easy to remove later, and also because the tape is wider and on a roll, so you can grab the size you need. In just about 3 days I noticed that the lipoma was shrinking! I was astounded! I did this routine before going to bed, and sometimes I pulled back the tape in the morning to add more ACV to the cotton to keep it moist. It's been about 2 weeks now, and the lipoma is so much smaller. I am so very happy! But one thing - the ACV did burn my skin, I believe, because it caused a small open wound from being on the skin so long. After about a day or two is when it caused a sore and made my skin a little red, but I was so happy with the results, I just accepted it. I did let my skin breathe for about a day or two in between to give it some fresh air, and then I applied it again. So now I keep applying it about every other day, or so, to see if it will eventually go away completely. I can't wait to go back to my doctor so he can measure it again and see that it's gotten smaller! This may not be for everyone, but it sure is working for me!

Apple Cider Vinegar for Body Acne

sparkleheart (Canada) on 06/23/2025
5 out of 5 stars

I had a sudden breakout of ugly red bumps on my upper back and shoulders, it looked like acne or possibly folliculitis. Either way I also tend to get a big pimple here and there on my upper back even though I literally never ever do on my face. Anyway I tried out ACV with some skepticism (even though it has worked for me for so many things! It's a miracle for UTIs!! ), and what do you know, it completely got rid of it within a few days. Thank god. I find back pimples so embarrassing.

I just applied it with a cotton pad morning and night. I can't believe how much time I wasted looking at reddit and so on where people recommend a million things and products when of course something so simple and cheap would work so well. I love EarthClinic so much, thanks everyone for your posts<3

Re: Beneficial Supplements for Osteoporosis and Vitamin C

Art (California) on 06/23/2025

Hi Wanda,

Thank you for the additional information on vitamin C. What I have learned over time is that many men do not tolerate high dose vitamin C very well and 6000 mg would definitely fit into that category. High dose vitamin C can cause kidney stones in men, but not women as discussed here :

https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC4769668/

Here is a relevant quote from the link :

' Total and supplemental intake of vitamin C was significantly associated with a higher risk of incident kidney stones in men, but not among women. '

On the other hand, lower dose vitamin C of <700 mg/day was not a problem based on this quote from the literature :

' Dietary vitamin C intake was not associated with stones among men or women, although few participants had dietary intakes >700 mg/d. '

I have seen this occur in a friend at just 2000 mg/day of vitamin C after just one week. I see many people recommend high and very high doses of vitamin C online and elsewhere, but they often are not aware of this fact or don't bother to mention it. If you have ever had kidney stones, you know how painful they can be! So when it comes to men, I do not recommend high dose vitamin C, but it can be fine for women.

I'm surprised that Dr. Berg did not mention this very important fact. As a chiropractor I would have expected him to be aware of it as many chiropractors are well versed in nutrition and supplements and I'm sure he counts himself in that group.

Egg Whites for Burns

Egg Whites for Burns--Best Remedy

A few years ago, on Christmas Eve, as I was preparing my contribution to take to our families party I burned my arm in my oven. I searched EC and found the egg white method. I scrambled the egg white and gently placed it on the burned area. I let it dry. Used a warm water paper towel to gently remove the egg white and repeated the process 3-4 more times. After this I had to shower before heading to the party. The warm shower water never bothered the burned area on my arm. A few weeks later a small water blister appeared on my arm and I had zero idea why. It took me a couple minutes to realize it was the same location as I burn I got on Christmas Eve. I've been using scrambled Egg White remedy ever since.

Hi Art, I do appreciate you sharing your knowledge with all of us AND I appreciate others sharing as well! On building bone, Dr Eric Berg (whom I've followed for over ten years) just came out with a new video stating that you can take all sort of supplements to build bone, but it also takes around 6,000 mg of vitamin C along with that to do the job! I take sodium ascorbates because it comes in powder form and about 1.5 tsp in about a cup of water does it! So easy. Very tart though....!
