Melatonin Lotion Question for Art

Art (California) on 10/19/2025

Hi Mix,

In the 3 ounce mix of melatonin lotion, the 1/4 teaspoon of pure melatonin powder is equivalent to 750 mg of pills or capsules. The downside to this approach is that those capsules or pills have a very significant amount of fillers in them so it is going to be much more than a 1/4 teaspoon of powder. The fillers may not dissolve in the gin and so the mix may feel gritty. You will need enough pills or capsules to equal 750 mg of melatonin.

This was reported to me by another EC member who I think is in Canada, who could not buy bulk melatonin powder and had to use capsules. She did say that it definitely helped her fibromyalgia pain better than her prescription medications and it didn't cause her any side effects. She also said that the lotion felt gritty.

MSM for IBS With Constipation

MSM (methylsulfonylmethane) for IBS w/ constipation

my symptoms were:

- Bloating, gas after consuming anything even water

- SIBO like symptoms

- dehydration

- chronic constipation

i tried everything. diet changes, different supplements etc. Then I ran across a Naturopathic Doctor on youtube (Dr. GI Janel) describing the exact same symptoms and its being caused by a sulfur deficiency. So I bought a 2 pound bag of MSM (methylsulfonylmethane) from Amazon and I am already feeling results after a few days (even a few of my aches and pains are gone). Long story short, our American diets have become deficient in sulfur for whatever reason and sulphur helps your detox pathways get rid of toxins & fungal overgrowth. I have been taking 1/2 a tablespoon MSM 3 times a day with Acerola Cherry vitamin C (i dont trust the GMO corn Vitamin C) which is supposed to help the MSM. But the regimen involves working your way up to 30 grams MSM per day for 8 weeks. If you are constipated like I was, take Magnesium Oxide a couple times per day to get things moving first before you start taking the MSM. You may experience herx die-off symptoms (flushing, headache, etc) in the beginning as fungus like candida are dying off, or You may not feel anything at first, but keep taking it, working up to the 30 grams per day. I also take L - Glutamine for gut repair and avoid sugar and flour to help the healing process as many these problems may be caused by GMO flour and/or glyphosate (which may also be in sugar as Roundup is sprayed on sugar beets too). So always try to eat organic.

Stage 4 Osteosarcoma: Natural Remedies to Help?

Art (California) on 10/19/2025

Hi Drew,

I am sorry to hear about your brother in law. The following link might be worth reading on his behalf regarding the combined use of melatonin and vitamin D alongside chemo and radiotherapy as both offer anticancer effects of their in multiple forms of cancer including osteosarcoma and offer some protective effects against some of the known side effects of both chemo and radiotherapy. :

https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC11575929/

Here is a relevant quote from the research paper :

' As regards the central discussion of the present review, VitD and melatonin supplementation exhibit efficacy against several types of cancer. Clinical trials on this combination are still limited but are valuable in improving the quality of life of cancer patients. Specifically, human studies involving osteosarcoma, as well as lip, oral cavity, pharynx, breast, head, neck, brain and lung cancers are examples of these improvements. VitD and melatonin also have radioprotective potential, which could improve the effectiveness of radiotherapy and protect patients from its side-effects. The use of synthetic radioprotective compounds is restricted due to the occurrence of undesirable health consequences, particularly when higher doses are required for maximum radioprotection. Considering the prevalent deficiencies of melatonin and VitD in modern societies, supplementing with both substances would be crucial, given that such deficiencies may exacerbate the adverse effects of radiotherapy (e.g., ionizing radiation) and chemotherapy. In this sense, further studies are warranted to determine optimal doses when these agents are used in combination. '

' In addition to reducing the growth of cancer cells and improving the life quality of patients, this combination may improve sleep quality providing an indirect benefit on the cancer mediated by the connections between sleep and the immune system (229).'

His doctor will have to determine dosing that will be compatible with the chemotherapy treatment.

Re: Melatonin for CVD

Art (California) on 10/18/2025

Hi Randall,

Some people tolerate melatonin very well, such as myself who has taken 132 mg a day of oral melatonin for over a year, but some people do not tolerate oral melatonin at even a low dose such as 5 mg/day. So it is better to start very low and work your dose up slowly to find out how well you tolerate oral melatonin.

There are studies that have used high dose melatonin, but going over 100 mg/day studies are far and few between. So you are essentially moving in uncharted territory in terms of studies supporting 116 mg/day. Start low and slow to be safe.

If you are trying to concentrate specifically on atherosclerosis, you might give some consideration to adding bromelain to your regimen.

I don't know what medications you are using or health issues that you have, so the above items will require your doctor's approval and supervision before starting them.

Ginger for Chronic Bladder Infections

Helen (California) on 10/18/2025

I felt this insistent UTI creeping up on me for days but ignored it since it was so slight that I could deal with it, but today it was so full blown. I came here and read what worked for Sandrini. My mom had some ginger left in her pan that she stir fried her veggies in. It went away immediately! I usually have to sit in a vinegar bath for at least 20 minutes which also works for my reoccurring UTIs. I will continue to eat a small amount of ginger from this day forward.

Vapor Rub for Severe Chest Colds

Rob (Kentucky) on 10/18/2025
5 out of 5 stars

Currently (10/18/25) everyone including young kids are getting sick with something like a head cold. I am telling everyone to use an Old-time Remedy that has been around since the start of the 1900’s.

Vicks inhalation for a head cold involves using hot steam, either from a bowl of hot water with added Vicks VapoRub or a dedicated Vicks steam inhaler, to help relieve congestion by thinning mucus. It's important to use hot water.

From the book: Town Journal, Vol. 33, p. 29, December 11,1926.

Head Colds relieved with VAPORS

Snuff a little Vicks well up the nose or melt in a cup of hot water and inhale. Medicated vapors reach the air passages direct. For other cold troubles rub Vicks on the throat and chest.

From the label of a Vicks Vapor jar 1950’s. (yea… I collect weird stuff)

If there is much MUCUS or PHLEGM in the air passages, or much irritation or COUGHING, melt a spoonful of Vicks VaporRub in a vaporizer or bowel of boiling water. Then inhale the steaming vapors. Every few hours put some VapoRub up nostrils and snuff well back. At bed time, massage on throat, chest, back and bottom of feet as with simple colds.

Note: I’ve wrote a Article about, DIY Old School Steam Inhaler Nebulizer

See Article here: https://www.instructables.com/DIY-Old-School-Steam-Inhaler-Nebulizer/

I remember as a kid back in the 1970’s, my country Grandmother (she was born in 1911) putting a “whistling” tea kettle on the stove and when it started to “whistle” she would set in front of it (about a foot 12”) and inhale the steam. I also remember her putting a spoonful of Vick’s Vapor-Rub into the water. As the kettle got hot, the salve would melt and release the medical oils into the steam. I don’t remember her ever use the kettle to make tea in so I’m sure it was for steaming only.

I have not seen anyone mention this use of a tea kettle on the internet. It’s always some company’s selling some fancy electric device or something like that.

Art, I am following your Nattokinase and grapeseed extract guidance and have ordered melatonin now.

I weigh 255lbs and am dropping ( 6'4") but it looks like I need about 116mg per day.

Is there any danger at that level? AI isn't the expert but said that high doses could be dangerous. I have some atherosclerosis I am trying to clean up with a no oil diet ( yuck) and meaninful supplements.

Just thought I would ask.

Thanks,

Randall

Stage 4 Osteosarcoma: Natural Remedies to Help?

Drew (Missouri) on 10/18/2025

My brother in law is 33 years old with a 9,8 and 2 year old. He was just diagnosed with stage 4 osteosarcoma and just started a chemo treatment today. He’s always been healthy with no existing medical conditions in the past. We are desperate to try anything to help him. It’s hard to know what’s true and what’s false when it comes to treating cancer in a more natural way. Not sure what to do they gave him months to live and it just doesn’t seem possible

Re: Aortic Aneurysm - Question for Art

Art (California) on 10/18/2025

Hi Amanda,

Yes, Avery went for another CT scan very recently and his current number is 4.0. Originally it was 4.5 and then it went down to 3.8 and is now 4.0, which is fairly close to what would be expected at his age.

When I talked to Avery about it, he said he was still taking the zinc, selenium and quercetin, but he had stopped using the melatonin lotion(ML) twice a day and was only using it irregularly. He said he will go back to applying it twice a day again.

Apparently the ML is one of the more potent components of this regimen.

The following animal research abstract tends to confirm that idea :

https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/32329099/

Here is a very relevant quote from the abstract :

' Melatonin functions as an endogenous protective molecule in multiple vascular diseases, whereas its effects on thoracic aortic aneurysm and dissection (TAAD) and underlying mechanisms have not been reported. In this study, TAAD mouse model was successfully induced by β-aminopropionitrile fumarate (BAPN). We found that melatonin treatment remarkably prevented the deterioration of TAAD, evidenced by decreased incidence, ameliorated aneurysmal dilation and vascular stiffness, improved aortic morphology, and inhibited elastin degradation, macrophage infiltration, and matrix metalloproteinase expression. Moreover, melatonin blunted oxidative stress damage and vascular smooth muscle cell (VSMC) loss. Notably, BAPN induced a decrease in SIRT1 expression and activity of mouse aorta, whereas melatonin treatment reversed it. Further mechanistic study demonstrated that blocking SIRT1 signaling partially inhibited these beneficial effects of melatonin on TAAD. Additionally, the melatonin receptor was involved in this phenomenon. Our study is the first to report that melatonin exerts therapeutic effects against TAAD by reducing oxidative stress and VSMC loss via activation of SIRT1 signaling in a receptor-dependent manner, thus suggesting a novel therapeutic strategy for TAAD. '

The above mouse study clearly suggests that melatonin is quite useful for thoracic aortic aneurysm in a mouse model and Avery's results that the benefit may also apply to humans, but a human study is required to confirm this. Such a study is definitely warranted because cardiologist seem to agree that they can not shrink an aortic aneurysm without surgery and of course there is significant risk involved with that surgery.

So based solely on Avery's experience, he seems to have responded fairly well to this regimen and especially to the topical application of melatonin lotion over his aorta area on his front and back twice a day applied sparingly.

Re: Chlorine Dioxide Solution

Art (California) on 10/18/2025

Hi GertJr,

Hydrocodone does nothing for me either and it causes constipation in many people.

If ibuprofen is helpful for the pain, I think you will like the naproxen lotion and it should be useful post TKR also. Make a shot glass up of the naproxen lotion or use ibuprofen soft gels if you prefer, but either way this lotion is easier on your body. Some people find a slightly better effect from Naproxen over Ibuprofen.

Zinc Treatment for an Abscessed Tooth

Stephanie (FL) on 10/18/2025

Hi there. How are you doing today? That tooth ok? How long did you take zinc tablets for? I need to look into them. I had a root canal done on the tooth that had an infection. I took antibiotics. They want to pull it and put in a bridge and it just doesn’t feel quite right to me. It doesn’t hurt but at the most, will feel slightly sensitive occasionally. I don’t want to push my luck but $8,787 to fix this sounds a little bizarre to put it very mildly. If you or anyone who’s reading this is into “angel numbers”, this speaks volumes. I’m not going to get into that as it would mean I write three more pages but in a nutshell, we are 80 or 90% water and we are able to transmute whatever with our minds, hearts and spirits. It’s just too bad that the industries that are there to “help” us are more patronizing even to themselves than driven to real solutions.
