I am trained as a scientist (PhD Psych.) and am skeptical and suspicious of the placebo effect, which is real and can be quite powerful.

Three days ago I was about to book in for my third nasal polyp surgery because I couldn't breathe through my nose for the last few months, due to polyps, chronic sinusitis, diagnosed allergies to dustmite and grasses, and severe adult onset asthma.

Oral steroids, steroid sprays, antihistamines, steroid inhalers and ventolin were all still not managing my infections and inflammation. I'm 37 and over the last two years felt like I was pretty much dying.

Two days ago I heard about research showing acetate (acetic acid in vinegar - any kind) treats asthma in rodents. And I learnt that there is a scientific explanation for this effect, which might prove true for humans too. High fibre diets are crucial for gut bacteria, which lead to 'short chain fatty acids', which in turn moderate inflammation. Vinegar is full of these acids and so it is potentially a medicine which can be clinically effective, not just anecdotally through history etc.

So two days ago I started having 2 tablespoons, three times per day. It seems like a miracle, but I have had a clear sinus, with airflow through both nostrils, for two whole days now. It's amazing how dynamic polyps can be. Furthermore, I have clear or very little infected discharge. And before that I was ready for surgery... I didn't even take my steroid spray today - I can't believe it. Asthma is now under control.

I hope that this effect will continue and become a long term treatment for me, and you too if you are reading this. I only give it 4 stars because it is early days. If this continues to work, I will reclaim my life. The only other thing I would ask for is to reclaim my sense of smell, which has been missing for over a decade.

All the best!

I decided to try apple cider vinegar for nasty allergies and sinus congestion I have been having since September. I started to feel better the next day. I am on week two of daily app cider and my allergies are gone plus I feel fantastic with lots of energy. I put about two teaspoons of organic acv in my sports water bottle and sip it throughout the day. I am pre-diabetic so honey is a big no no for me.

I have using the apple cider vinegar for my allergies after I stopped getting allergy shots. I no longer wake up with a sore throat from the post nasal drip, and my sinus infections have been less since I started using it.

Silly I forgot to check out Earth clinic. I've been suffering from irritated eyes and inflammed sinuses for a while. I tried ACV last night and this morning and its true, the change was dramatic! Someone said perhaps my allergies were to do with pH so coming here it seemed obvious to try. I hope this is not a chance coincidence.

Hi, it's imperative I take a minute to encourage those with allergies~~APPLE CIDER VINEGAR WORKS. At age 65 I've never been allergic to anything to my knowledge. THEN I adopted a male kitten from the pound and oh boy, sneezing, sinus irritation, upper respiratory congestion that would go into infections, itching eyes so on fire and red I couldn't wear makeup. But, I wasn't about to give up my Moses. I was desperate and researched remedies and have used Flonase close to 9 mos and while the steriod worked, a side affect of exhaustion hits me so I rarely used it so I suffered with the cat allergy a lot. Yesterday out of desperation I researched on here and began sipping throughout the day ACV (1T in 2 cups water); I got a small bit of relief during the day but it was so small I was disappointed~~but TODAY, though I had light itching in sinuses and eyes this morning, it didn't accelerate into my usual reactions to the cat. I've continued to sip ACV today and I can say at 3:30 in the afternoon I am without ANY signs of allergy~no itching, no burning in sinuses, eyes, upper respiratory.

Here's hoping YOU are given the gift of being allergy free!

Hi....

I really don't know where to begin...but here goes...I have had severe cold allergies for almost 3 to 4 years and nothing worked except allopathy (which I was not too keen on)...However I once stumbled on your site and from then on have treated it like my daily mantra. So my miracle has been APPLE CIDER VINEGAR (with the "mother)!!!

I started taking it about a month and half ago:

1 teaspoon of ACV with 1/4 cup boiled water ( I heat the water in the micro for 30 secs), and use 1 tsps of organic honey. I drink it like green tea, first thing in the morning and at night half hour before my dinner.

My allergies have disappeared!!! My skin is clearer, my indigestion is better and I've even used it (diluted) for a very very severe case of PINK EYE!! (1 drop in each eye every 2 or 3 hours)!!

Its nothing short of a miracle worker and I thank earth clinic for this information!! Now when I have any problem I first check earthclinic and only the consult a doctor!!!

THANK YOU EARTH CLINIC AND APPLE CIDER VINEGAR FOR BEING "MY" MIRACLE!!

I use ACV alongside my traditional hayfever medication of cetirizine and steroidal nasal spray, and this works well, I did try to use it on its own, but I have suffered (and I do not use that term lightly) from hayfever since I was a child, and personally feel that apart from the itchy eyes, scratchy throat and sneezing, it is also responsible for my lethargy, occasional depression and moodiness. None of these remedies work adequately on their own, but the regular ingestion of ACV seems to be what keeps it all under control. I am so thankful for ACV, and recommend it all the time to friends and family.

I have been suffering from severe sinusitis due to allergies and a slight head cold. I had been on NyQuil, allergy meds, using a netti pot with salt and colloidal silver, and inhaling steam to try and alleviate the terrible sinus pressure for days with no relief. I finally came to this site because it has helped me in the past and read about apple cider vinegar, what a miracle. I drank one 8oz glass of ice cold water with 1 tbsp of organic Apple Cider Vinegar mixed in. Not even five minutes later my sinus passages started to open up and I could breathe with little pressure. As soon as my sinuses opened up I put a couple drops of colloidal up my nose to clean out. I can breath and I feel great, will keep this routine up this allergy season!

I get seasonal pollen allergies. It gets pretty bad. I sneeze ten times in a row and my eyes get really itchy. I found ACV as a remedy on earth clinic and I tried it one day when I sneezed a lot. Sure enough, a few hours later my sneezing and runny nose dissipated. Since it has worked so much better than OTC antihistimes, I will continue to use it every summer. ACV is definitely an item everyone should own, since it has so many uses!

So over that last 5 years I've been dealing with very bad allergies and non stop sinus infections. I've tried Neti Potting everyday , taking allegra and Claritin with no success. I finally read that a large cause of chronic sinusitus is a fungus related issue. Which may explain my constant swimmers ear, which is also fungal related. I read alot about ACV with the "mother".

I decided to try 2 Tbsp of ACV with 1 Tbsp honey. I have done this every day now for about 2 weeks...

Guess what??? Allergies are way less extreme and sinus infection is gone. I wouldn't have believed it but it worked for me!! Thanks everybody on this site!! Life changing!!

I started drinking ACV while at the tail end of a cold. I had gone through a box of heavy duty decongestant/expectorant and halfway through a second box and I wasn't really improving past a certain point. I was frustrated and searching the web for any alternative solutions when I discovered this site. I ran right out and bought a bottle of [organic] ACV. I started drinking it diluted in water AND I also started to rinse my nose with it. I do not use a nettie pot for my sinus rinsing. Ever since I had sinus surgery 15 years ago, I've used a baby nose aspirator as instructed by the surgeon and squirt the solution up into my nose while leaning over the sink. I use 1 tsp in 8oz of warm water for my nose rinse & 2 tbsp in 16oz water to drink. Sometimes, I'll just take a shot straight but I love the flavor of vinegar. I had heard the nose rinse might cause burning but never experienced that myself. WOW! Within a day I noticed a difference. I stopped taking the decongestant/expectorant pill and have continued to drink & rinse twice a day (morning and night). I am not kidding when I say I very rarely sneeze anymore!! I have such horrible year-round allergies. I've been on an Rx nose spray AND would take an OTC pill also. Since I have been rinsing my nose, I rarely use the spray let alone take the pill. I do notice a difference when I forget to rinse my nose. To me that is just proof it's the rinse w/ ACV that is helping me. I have recommended ACV to everyone!

We have a mug of vinegar tea every morning and it actually tastes delicious -I put 1 Tbs raw ACV in a mug, then half fill it with hot water. I add 1 teaspoon of raw honey and mix it up. Then I top it up with cold water and finally, the part that makes it taste delicious, I add a dash of ground cinnamon! It makes it taste like apple crumble in a mug! And we never have allergy issues because we start every day off with this drink. Highly recommend it to anyone!

My husband has had severe allerigies his entire life. Non-stop rumbling in his ears, his nose would drain if he leaned his head down, dizziness, etc, etc. Every year it became worse and every year he would take otc meds or prescriptions consisting of steroids and antibiotics. The relief from these was very minimal if noticeable at all. On the 3rd day of taking 1.5 tsps of ACV 3 times a day, he began to notice a difference. He's stayed with this for the past 3 months and the effects continue to grow. He has more energy, lost weight (also due to the acv), and is 99% allergy free. I have never seen anything work so wonderfully. Last year we also had issues with staph and within 3 days of applying acv, it would be gone. I am a complete believer in all-natural cures from here on. Thank you so much Earth Clinic for your site!!

I too suffer from really bad seasonal allergies every year. My nose will get congested, and runny. My eyes will get red and runny. My throat will get itchy. The pressure builds up in my head and feels like a pressure cooker! I will sneeze hundreds of times throughout the day. Every year I go to the doctor and I get allergy medicine, I found out that my body builds tolerance to whatever medicine I try...Yesterday my symptoms started full force, a friend of mine told me to visit this site, I read about ACV and happened to have some in my cabinet, desperate as I was, I mixed 1/8 of a cup in 16oz of water and drank it.. To my surprise and much needed relief my symptoms went away in less than an hour!

ACV gets a big YEAS!!

Worked Temporarily

Hi!!! I suffer from very bad allergies and bronchitis and asthma. I have tried every antibiotic and over the counters meds and none worked. Just eased the symptoms for a bit. I tried _____s ACV for the first time last Thursday. I filled a shot glass and downed it. About a hour later I felt great!!! My sinus pressure eased up a lot and they started to drain. My chest wasnt nearly as weezy and I felt full of energy. I did three shots a day and felt wonderful. My allergies never went away but there was a huge improvement. One that I could live with.

After the third day I started getting really bad gas pressure ending in terrible belches and resulting in upset stomach so I diluted the ACV by pouring the shot in a 20 oz bottle of water three times a day. That didnt help so I did it twice a day. Then my sinus problems started coming back. I havent taken any in a couple of days and my allergies are back full force. Please can you offer any suggestions?

Here's a little update at just over a year... Throughout my entire life I have always had a miserable time with colds and allergies every single year. This past year, since I've learned about ACV, has easily been the best year of my life. I'd even go so far as to call it almost perfect. Allergies were a breeze. I don't think I noticed any at all, including my allergies to dogs and many other animals, dust, ragweed and a few other pollens.

4 random times over the past year, I had the very familiar feeling of my very typical post-nasal drip creeping in. I get those often, always starting with a nasty sore throat which ALWAYS meant I was about to be sick for a long time. Almost every time, this meant antibiotics, and maybe more than one kind. For the first year in as long as I can remember, I haven't taken a single antibiotic NOR a single decongestant. I never came close to needing them. I was always in danger of getting left back for attendance, and it has always been my Achilles' heal at work. This is huge for me.

The few times that sore throat DID come around this past year, were during times when I had run out of ACV or hadn't been keeping up with it. Then I would try the new ACV remedy I'd learned about off this site: 1/2 cup water & a single teaspoon of ACV. Gargle it 3 times every hour until the sore throat feels better. Each time I had the sore throat, I would do this remedy early on, and within 3 hours, or 9 mouthfuls, my sore throat was gone! Completely. A little Advil didn't hurt either, just to make those few hours passed comfortably.

That was it. They never became colds. They never lasted more than a few hours. I only took one sick call the entire year, and that was just because I was feeling lazy. My allergies were nothing. I didn't have my usual fall coughing marathons at night, nor my springtime scratchy throat. People I worked with and live with were sick all around me, and while I was always nervous of catching their germs, I never really did. The winter before I'd found out about ACV, I was miserably sick for more than 3 months straight.

Of course, anybody who has grown to swear by ACV knows how difficult it is to convince others to try or to continue with the ACV. The taste is tough to deal with, and it is so frustrating when you know it would help someone you love, but they will not so much as sniff it more than once. But as I've come to learn in life... You can only really fix yourself, and try to be a good example.

Does it work for the Cholesterol that I originally started taking it for? I'm not convinced. I'm due for a retest, but I don't expect anything there. But thanks to the amazing boost its given my immune system- This is way better than any vitamin or supplement I've ever taken!

I usually take 2 tablespoons of _____ ACV in a shot glass topped off with water or apple juice, and then chase it with more water or juice (the colder the better). I usually take it for 2 weeks, and then skip it for 5 days or so. I've read several books on ACV over the past year, and it does a lot of good for your body. I'm sold!

Apple Cider worked to relieve/eliminate my seasonal sinus allergies. At first I had to take ACV in water 3x per day. Then I gradually reduced it to once a day, and now I take it once a day only 3-5 times per week. I am having no sinus symptoms this year. I would call this a cure!

I've been suffering ever since I got to Louisiana (a matter of 15 years! ) and this years was the worst, with the itchy ears, itchy nose that makes you want to claw your face off, and watering eyes. I was quite desparate up until Monday afternoon when I took my first two tablespoons of _____s ACV in some water. By Monday night, I had about 90% relief, and now (Wed morning), I can say I get the brief nose itch about twice a day, but nothing like before. I feel great and I'm going to spread the news!

March 9, 2011 I was having a serious allergy day, as I had for the past 20 Yrs. I have taken every drug and allergy shoots on the market, no joke, I have been praying the my good Lord and saviour would deliver me from this horrofying experience, called Allergy hay season, nevertheless so when you ask you shall receive, no he did not come down a a beam of light touch me or an angel appeared and healed me, no I asked the Lord for wisdom, do not like taking medication unless I absolutelly necesarelly need to, then I had an encounter, yeah! I said thank You Jesus for wisdom, I came to this site I believe I was guided to it, not much of a computer person, so as I stated reading ACV and its wonders, I said ACV here I come, got 3 spoons in 1/2 cup of warm water 1 tablespoon of raw honey, and waited, I thought it was going to be a week or so and I did not care, how ever the same night I took this mixure, I was healed, I have been sharing this with my dear suffering allergy friends, I know they will be thankfull, If you have tried all types of drugs that do more harm then good in some cases why not try your all good apple cider vinager. I can say that I am allergy free, thank you so much for letting this amazing recipe out May the Lord bless you and repay you. Thank you Dear Lord for heavenly wisdom. Amen

Dear All, I am a 36 year old guy who has been having severe allergy problems from the age of 15. Sinus problems started about 3 years ago and both of these have been getting me ill very frequently. I had taken 3 doses of antibiotics (500 mg per day / days) over the past 6 weeks as I kept having repeated flu, sore throat, allergy, sinus problem which did not seem to leave my body. To cut the story short, I ran into this website 5 days ago and started the ACV & Oil pulling (sesame oil) right away. The day I took the ACV, there were lumps of yellow stuff rolling out of my ached sinuses and jaws through my nose and mouth. The next morning I woke up with a clear nose. I have not had any allergy or sore throat for the past 5 days, which is a rarity in my adult life. I am able to breathe through my nose all the time and my voice is very clear. I have never felt so good in all these years & my constant craving for sugars is gone. I have recommended this to quite a few of my friends who are impressed with seeing a different me this week!!

I was already feeling very weak from sneezing and I thought of searching the remedy from Earth Clinic. I found ACV as very popular for allergies. I prepared immediately 2 tbs in 8 oz of warm water. Then I added 1/4 tbs baking soda. Instantly, my allergies were gone. I never sneezed from then on so I was able to sleep calmly through the night. I couldn't believe it. It really works. I am a ACV fanatic. My husband and I drink it every night to maintain our good health. Now I'll make it twice daily.

Hello, first time poster here. I started a regimen of ACV in water after having it recommended to me by a weight loss clinic as a general detox. I noticed after 2 days of drinking it diluted in water that I seemed to have more energy at the end of the day than I was used to having. But what was truly impressive was that I had gone away for the weekend to visit relatives and did not think to take some ACV "on the road". I had increased allergy symptoms and overall felt worse than before going on the ACV regimen. So I'll definitely make a "to go" travel bottle in the future so that I don't have to skip any days.

I decided to try Apple Cider Vinegar and in about 1 week my headaches were gone, my congestion cleared up and no more allergy issues. I take 2 tablespoons mixed with orange juice every morning and do longer have any allergy issues. It's been 4 years now and the ACV is still working. I'd buy ACV even if it cost me $100 a bottle!

First off, this is the most amazing site I've ever come across. I've had acute allergies for 10 years now. For the first 5 years, I just dealt with it, but as I've gotten older, it's gotten worse. I usually end up bed ridden with sinusitis, fever, terrible headaches, etc. before all is better. The last 5 years, I have taken an antibiotic virtually every time I had an outbreak (about every 2 months), and everyone knows how bad that is for our bodies. Since I found the ACV cure a year ago, I've had ONE outbreak. I cured both of my last outbreaks without antibiotics in a matter of 3 or 4 days. I now drink ACV daily. While I still occasionally have itchy eyes or headaches, I rarely feel bad at all. Additionally, I had laryngitis, and mixed cayenne pepper w/ the ACV mixture, and cured it instantly. Thank you all so much for giving my life back.

My daily dosage, 2 TSP w/ 8 oz of water several times throughout the day.

When I'm sick, 2 TBLSP w/ 8 oz of water and 1/8 TSP cayenne pepper (for sore throat) several times throughout the day.

I wasn't even looking for a sinus remedy. I tried ACV with honey because it was supposed to alleviate joint pain. I have had allergies most of my adult life and can never breathe through my nose. My allergies are to dust and everyday allergens, not seasonal. Without even expecting this effect, I immediately noticed I could breathe through nose after taking ACV. The first day it only lasted for about an hour. The second day I didn't keep track. After skipping the third day, today my sinuses have been clear for more than 6 hours. It also clears my head and makes me able to think more clearly, something I've noticed comes along with allergies. Anyway, I still have joint pain, but this is great for sinus problems and doesn't taste too bad.
