Leaky Gut Syndrome Remedies

Modified on Dec 28, 2022

Leaky Gut Syndrome is an umbrella term for a variety of health conditions in which the intestines provide an incomplete barrier between the food we take in from the outside world and the protected organs of the body's interior. Allergies, environmental toxins, medications, parasites, and other pathogens may create the initial conditions that damage the mucosal linings of the gut.

The resulting passage of toxins and insufficiently digested food components into the body can subsequently worsen the condition and tax both the immune and liver systems so that overall health degrades. The initial leaky gut symptoms can likewise worsen, creating a negative feedback cycle.

Symptoms of leaky gut syndrome include intestinal pain that may come and go, a modest fever, and general weakness or fatigue due to poor nutrition.
