My gout was getting chronic over the years. Finally a number of periodic episodes switched over to a perpetual attack in my left foot that had lasted for 3 months. My Allopurinol and Indo-methracin drugs had lost their effectiveness over 5 years so I was depressed over the constant pain and doing little in my retirement years. I saw the article about cherries and picked up a pound of dried cherries from our local bulk food store. I had half a pound of cherries that morning and my foot was pain free for the first time in 3 months by noon. I went for a long walk that afternoon which was a big mistake because the underlying damage was still there and I had trouble getting to sleep that night. However, by the next morning the pain was gone and the swelling diminished over the next week. Whenever I get a flare up of gout I take my cherries and get rapid relief. Much better eating natural foods to get better as opposed to taking drugs that don't work.

1 Cup minimum per day dark sweet cherries, frozen are great, Blended, the finer the puree the easier they are absorbed. Mix with a little honey, milk, ice, even protein powder. The mix is your call, but I guarantee good results with minimum 1 cup per day.

I do the same thing and within 3-4 hours of eating a half pound of fresh cherries and drinking a couple of glasses of water the swelling goes down and the pain subsides... I can actually feel the swelling go down, its amazing... I have taken all of the drugs prescibed by doctors (NSAIDS) and it does nothing but give me a stomach ache and make me feel terrible (on top of the pain from the Gout attack).

My Dad and Husband were both over-the-road truck drivers, and both suffered/suffer with gout in their left foot (the one requires for all the shifting of an 18 wheeler). My Dad heard about cherries. Both Dad & Hubby now are retired and still have gout flare ups. Both now reach for a can of canned water packed tart red cherries (not pie filling), available in the canned fruit section of most grocery stores. Within hours both my Dad & Hubby have the same results - the gout flare up completely subsides. I vouch for the cherry cure. Only one time did it ever take 2 cans of cherries for my husband.

Gout is a strong runner in our family and for years an almost instant sure we all use is cherries. The kind you can buy packed in water in any grocery store. Make sure they are the water packed ones. Also dried cherries work but the canned ones seem to work better and faster. Usually one can is all it takes to cure an attack.

Eat a full can of tart cherries in one day. Gout will be gone in two days.

For gout, my son swears by Black Cherry juice. He buys the concentrate at the Health Food Store and mixes it in a Liter of water and drinks that down within a short amount of time. If it is really bad, he will do this 3 times a day. If he catches it at the onset...just one litre seems to do for him

I have had continues gout flair ups for over 15 years in my feet, knees, hands and wrists... I have taken all the medications available with no relief. I cut out all red meet, shell fish, wines and still had major flair ups. It was getting so frustrating. I come to find out my flair ups are from sugar I tracked what I ate for about a month and a half and my flair ups are from sugar I was consuming. I was taking cherry juice concentrate yet it had sugar so I did not see great results. I typed in gout in the search box in this online vitamin store I have been buying products from.. The results came up Tart Cherry Extract in a capsule form, WOW it worked. The bottle said to take 1 per day but I took 4 - 4 times per day (DO NOT do what I did unless you talk to your doctor) I have never felt better.

Tart Cherry Juice Helps prevent chronic attacks of gout caused by transplant drugs. The gout cannot be treated by conventional drugs as it would damage a transplanted organ, and the cherry juice concentrate helped prevent a very painful, vdangerous condition, and restored confidence in living

Re Cherry and Cherry powder: I am experiencing numerous episodes of gout; apparently due to a "Low Carb Diet". I have started taking 1/2 cup of cherries per day. I have now switched to a black cherry (with other additives) and have found it under control. I have prevously used prescription drugs prescribed by my doctor. However, who wants liver toxic drugs! Cherries and it's associated powders work great!
