FINALLY! I just keep saying it! Finding this information has saved my womanhood! I'll share my story with you.

10 years ago I experienced BV once and I was automatically disgusted. I was freaked out and went to my GYNO and he said "No need to worry, this is actually common for some women." So now that that panic was over, he prescribed me a course of Flagyl and gave me the usual rules like "only cotton underwear" and "make sure to eat yogurt everyday". I was fine, and BV free for years. I have been dating my boyfriend for about 2 years now, and ladies this stud is perfect, but it is clear my bacteria does not like him. My BV came back full force and I feel like I experience it every single time we have sex, and now it is there after my period! It is so embarrassing and it takes away the fun of having an awesome sexual relationship. I am always pretending my period lasts longer than it does, or just pretend to be too tired to have sex. And I tried EVERYTHING: multiple doses of antibiotics, changing my diet to include no bread, attempting to eat yogurt everyday, drink plenty of water, using bv inserts, cleaning with vaginal wipes throughout the day. The antibiotics worked but then BV would make its comeback a month later. So I decided to finally do some research and used Hydrogen Peroxide with water. And IT WORKS!!!

I first tried a douche. My mom works in GYN and she taught me from an early age "NEVER DOUCHE! " but I was desperate. I emptied the douche contents and filled it with 1/2 3%HP and 1/2 distilled water. I got in the tub and found the most awkward position and held the HP/water solution in for about 2 mins. Only discomfort I experienced was the burning on the outside from it being so raw. About 5 hours after that, I used a soaked tampon and kept it in for a half an hour. And NO SMELL, NO DISCHARGE, NO DISCOMFORT. I felt cleaner than I ever had before. I even had sex that night and it was glorious! My womanhood is back and it feels great to feel sexy again!

So I plan on using these soaked tampons after sex and after my period. I have also started to drink a glass of Kefir everyday to maintain the healthy bacteria. Thanks to whoever made this page and I hope this helps other BV strugglers.

I has struggled with BV for many years, countless Dr. visits and prescriptions. Nothing worked. I used the 50/50 douche HP & distilled water every day for about a week. I also wore a tampon dipped in HP for about 30 minutes every other day. I highly recommend organic coconut oil, has natural antibodies and moisturizes - lightly applied externally. After my initial treatment, I now only use the coconut oil and apply HP externally as needed, usually right before or right after my period. Might be more in my head but I'd rather not take the chance. :) This might seem like a weird tip but grooming and ensuring you're dry after a shower and before dressing helps. Loose clothing & go panty free as often as you can.

I got BV from sex with a new boyfriend about 3-4 months ago, the only symptom I get noticeably is the fishy odor. Ive tried everything under the sun, hp was my last resort because it just sounded so scary to me. I tried 2 nights ago mixing 2 caps of hp and 2 caps of water it instantly got rid of the smell but came back. I tried the next day with 5:2 ratio of hp to water and it seemed to last longer I did it a few times during the day and this morning I woke to no smell, ive done it twice so far today and im hoping this will really cure it and work. FINGERS CROSSED. But yes if you are looking for an immediate relief HP does it, but I think you have to do it a good number of days to keep it away.

OMG! Finally a cure that works and inexpensive. I am 49 years old and recently had an D & C due to heavy menstrual bleeding. After one month, I was diagnosed with BV. I had a clear discharge, but odorless. And had to wear panty liners for months. My OB/GYNprescribed antibiotics, Metronidazole, which was awful. Didnt work, then my OB/GYN prescribed some kind of gel that I couldn't afford. Well long story, short I came across this wesite and was reading several females comments; and decided to give it a try. I was very spectical at first, but went all in. I did the 50/50 hp douche and Omg!!! Well ladies I must say results instantly!! Today is my 1st day and so far five hours in. I have not had any discharge. I was having a discharge every 10 to 15 minutes apart. So far so gd and I will repeat this process for two more days and keep you posted. Thank God for my results which are very positive. This remedy is a must try. I'm crying whoo hoo, full of joy rt now.

It works. This is something I've dealt with for many years and I've done this for 2 days the odor is completely gone away, along with the clear discharge but I also Incorporated it with an apple cider vinegar bath.

Two Words: It worked! Douching with 3% peroxide and 1/3 water works. I love my vagina again. No smell. 'Im only on day two but the results are magnificent! Just one question. What type of probiotics should I take?

Hydrogen peroxide for bacterial vaginosis - I really recommend this method.

Antibiotics - work, but makes you feel sick and I had a recurrence shortly after.

Probiotics (probably), but not immediately. I didn't have the patience to wait.

Some gels especially for BV - only some instant relieve of the symptoms - further not much change.

I wish I would have known about Hydrogen Peroxide from the start, but unfortunatelly you have to google a lot to find out such a simple cure. After only 3 days of treatment, as described here, and BV is completely gone. Now back to happy and confident - ME :)

Hydrogen peroxide actually works—AND has less significant (in my opinion) side effects than metronidazole. Being a huge nerd, I needed to research this cure before I tried it, and I found out that this is 62.5% effective after ONE 3-minute douching as 4 tablets of metronidazole. Imagine what a few days of treatment will do!

I found this study on the US National Library of medicine's website. Read what it has to say about hydrogen peroxide! (Here's a link to the study https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3458956/)

Hydrogen peroxide

We identified two non-controlled clinical trials that we excluded from this review [15, 16], and one randomised triple-blinded controlled trial in which the efficacy of vaginal hydrogen peroxide instillation in curing BV was assessed [17].

In a very well-designed triple-blinded randomised controlled trial, Chaithongwongwatthana et al. investigated the effectiveness and safety of a single hydrogen peroxide vaginal douche in treating bacterial vaginosis [17]. In this study, 142 patients with BV were enrolled in a Thai outpatient gynaecologic clinic. Diagnosis was made according to Amsel’s criteria. Randomisation relied on computer-generated random number scheme and both subjects and investigators were blinded to treatment. In addition double dummies were used to ensure blinding. In the experimental treatment arm patients (n = 72) were treated with a single douche with 20 ml of a 3% hydrogen peroxide solution in lithotomy position for 3 minutes, whereas in the control arm patients (n = 70) received 4 tablets of 500 mg metronidazole. The dummy treatments consisted of a vaginal douche with clean water in the metronidazole group and of identical placebo tablets similar to the metronidazole tablets in the hydrogen peroxide group. Follow-up was performed at 2 weeks following treatment. Cure was defined as the absence of at least 3 Amsel criteria. Assessors were blinded for the treatment allocation. The cure rates were 62.5% in the hydrogen peroxide group and 78.6% in the metronidazole group (see Table 1). Patients in the metronidazole group had significantly more gastrointestinal side effects (48.6% versus 13.9%, p < 0.001), whereas patients in the hydrogen peroxide group had significantly more mild vaginal irritation (33.3% versus 14.3%, p = 0.008).

Ladies, I've struggled on and off for years with this and I have tried ALOT of remedies including acv(douche and drinking), baking soda, molkosan, Epsom salt, herbs, vitamins, femdophilus, yogurt, probiotics, borax, bv capsules, coconut oil, etc and some worked to varying degrees depending on how bad the infection was but the only thing that works is to dramatically diet change, cut out the processed and the sugars and carbs...

Also I'll tell you a secret I wish I knew all along... Hydrogen peroxide!!! Use as a douche or rinse it wet a tampon. Odor is gone immeadiatly, no matter how bad your infection is. So cheap, and a Godsend. I dont really have an infection now, been free for maybe 6 months after a mild one . Diet changes really helped there, now all I do is eaty healthy about 1/2 the time and eat yogurt weekly, then rinse with the peroxide anytime I feel I have an odor. Not even a fishy odor (its not that bad) just an off odor. Odor goes immediatly and stays gone for days. So really all you need is a healthy diet and perioxide. Save yourself some money. Trust me I tried everything out there, even making my own suppositories . Perioxide and a good diet is the way to go. My BV will come back if I go back to eating a lot of junk and sugar for too long.

HELP

I have had Bv for a couple of months, and have only realised that it actually is bv. Before going to the gyn I have decided to do the tampon hydrogen peroxide method. I've been doing it for 2 nights now, the first night was half HP half water solution, and left me feeling quite dry, but very little odour, I tried it again last night, but this time full HP solution. I did it just before bed, and fell asleep with it in by accident for 4 hours.. when I took it out, the inside of my vagina was swollen and felt a bit of discomfort, today, my vagina has been excreting a watery discharge that is a little yellow in colour, but no swollen discomfort or strong odour. Should I stop this method or keep trying? I only want to leave in the tampon for 20-30 minutes but last night was an accident
