Blood in Cat's Poo - Need HelpPosted By Hubert (United Kingdom) on 06/01/2022
Hello,
I'd like to know if you know anything how to treat my cat with his problem. I've been to vets he gave him some special food and micro and macro in a powder to add to wet food he prescribed, he also gave him an antibiotic but it didn't work.
He's eating good food from hills plan. I am really worried about my cat. He's 1 year old domestic short hair.

Your cat's worst case scenario is colorectal cancer. However, cancer is highly unlikely, if he is only 1 year old.
Your cat's most likely scenario is hemorrhoids, I.e. he tends to strain at the stool. Assuming this is the case, then changing your cat's diet does make a lot of sense.
However, unless the antibiotics came before the blood in the poo, giving your cat antibiotics makes no sense at all; antibiotics tend to do far more harm than good; antibiotics usually cause constipation.
In my opinion, unless the antibiotics preceded the blood in the poo, your vet is not up to snuff. At this point, if that cat was mine, I would shop around for less constipating food for that cat. I would also shop around for a better vet; however, now that I think about it, at this point you don't really need a vet.
