Seeking Natural Remedies for Back Pain and Numb Cold Foot and Leg From Fall

Posted By Epeach (Ga) on 01/11/2018

I fell on my bottom at work. I did not catch myself and as I fell, I twisted my back and my foot. I did this almost 3 months ago. I was curled up in the fetal position initially, due to pain.

After 8 weeks of PT, I am currently suffering with lower back pain (throbbing and burning) and going from numb cold painful foot to... numb cold painful leg and foot. The fall caused a break in one of my vertebra and a bulging disk. I am not receiving any pain meds due to the opiate crisis, and do not sleep.

I have researched Earth Clinic and have not found anything to help. I am using WC doctors and the only thing they have offered is an epidural. I opted not to have that, after researching it. I am calling out for help! I cannot stand for any length of time nor sit up straight without pain or numbness.

Dear Epeach,

I have coldness and numbness in my extremities. One way to warm your feet may be cayenne pepper. I buy 500 mg capsules, but I intend to begin making my own. Cayenne powder can be bought bulk. Cayenne helps with circulation. Also I take peppermint oil capsules for migraine headache.

Keep moving as best you can. The more I sit or sleep, the stiffer my lower back is and the more numb my feet become. You are blessed to have the support of your husband. Be kind to yourself. Healing takes time.

Epeach,

See yourself active again, you're a fighter. keep pressing. Mama and others are cheering you on. Yes and me too.

The Serrapeptase is good for what its good for, I had a constant pinching right under my heart, I thought something was going to pop any moment. whatever it was seemed that, the serrapeptase fixed that. Only took about a month they say you should not take that ongoing.

After I finished that I tried the Nattokinase. I have been taking it a few months now. It was not until I start taking Nattokinase that my legs stopped going numb on me. it also brought my blood pressure down so keep that in mind also. It's worth a try if necessary.

Epeach

My husband had a fall off a ladder, straight down on his butt, from a considerable height.

Here is what we did.

He did have several things come up as we started the remedies. As the injury sorts itself out. This took about 2 weeks to take each rising problem as they occurred.

Yet he was pain free with twinges that were manageable.

When he told me, I had an image in my mind of his organs and bones hitting that cement. The compression of his body weight and the velocity at the strike of the fall. This is what I had in my mind as we took each step.

We washed his spine and trunk, thighs, pelvis. You must have clean skin to use DMSO. Then I sprayed magnesium oil, we use a pint sprayer bottle with a pump handle, his body from his back starting at his hairline down to below his knees. Generously. Poured DMSO into my hand. And applied that over the entire area. Using a paper towel full of castor oil applied that thinly. Reapplied mag oil. I did not have a sprayer for DMSO. If I did I would have used that. Spraying his spine generously as he had blown discs years ago. That we cured with Teds remedies.

If you have no one to apply this for you. A saturated small separate towel for each with banded on a bath brush or long cooking spoon. You can keep your towels to reuse in a ziploc. You are essentially making a body castor oil pack.

The groin takes terrible beating and he is a man all parts are treated. Scrotom not the other. Pubic line. Buttocks. Hips. Those have been compressed and there is most likely internal bruising. The goal is to penetrate beyond the skin. Beyond the knee to give all structures solid magnesium so it doesn't get stolen by the other body parts.

This absorbed quickly. He sat down and put his feet into 2 buckets. In each 1 cup Epsom 1 cup borax, 1/2 cup hydrogen peroxide, fish tank dechlorinator 1/4 cup baking soda.

Soaked until they were cold.

He took 300mg of hyaluronic acid before I started and again when he got done soaking.

For his shock is not the right word, to relax and boost his health. 1000mg holy basil for adrenals. This happened and for him it was bedtime.

500mg tryptophan

5 mg melatonin

5 mg lithium orate

750 mg gaba

He takes these normally to encourage sleep as his body clock on third must be turned around. 5 days out of 7. But I would have used them the first week to help him sleep no matter the shift.

He take them with ted's alkalizing drink. 1 whole lime squeezed in a glass. Add 1/2 tsp baking soda. Let fizz. Add 1/2 a glass of water. The normal is 1/2 hour after food 5 days out of 7,2x a day. I added 1000mg of vitamin c, as sodium ascorbate to help his overall health.

While he was soaking I made hyaluronic acid serum. In the blender I add 10 opened capsules of ha 2 dashes of sea salt 10 oz of spring water. Blend then strain through a hanky. I blend in a ball jar on my Oster.

That gets applied frequently. That adds back the syvol fluid to joints hips spine. Keep in the frig. It goes bad after 3 days or so. So you must remake. There is only 1 place to get affordable ha that I have found that is effective. Vitaminsbecause online. I have used and ordered bulk and other companies but it is expensive everywhere.

I do not know your age or gender. In this case it may not matter. But he was 60 when this happened and keeping the body hormones in balance is important.

1/4 tsp for men 1/8 tsp for women of 20 mule team borax in 1 liter of spring water. To be drunk through the day in beverages, 4 days out of seven. This is a great pain reliever. Balances hormones to promote healing. Displaces fluoride which will slow down recovery.

Iodine painting on foot at bedtime. A 2 inch square of lugols iodine 5 %. I also put 1 drop on his hip to further heal.

Progesterone cream not Mexican yam. This was the surprise. It actually did stop some of the pain and crampiness . we discovered as he uses it 1x a week or so normally. But it does make sense if you look at the healing is slow without optimal hormonal balance.

He will not soak in an Epsom bath so topical application was critical.

After the first few days we slowly subtracted areas covered with the castor oil mag and DMSO. Within 2 weeks he was normal. But his pelvic area got treated until the last day.

Dear Epeach,

I am sorry to hear about your back pain. I think you are wise to avoid opiates!

Well, I am not sure what you have tried so I will share a few things that have helped me with back pain.

Mullein Root Tincture - Unfortunately, it is hard to find and not a good time of year to make it. I think Beneficial Botanicals is where I bought it before I made it. It can be taken internally. But I have mostly used it topically. I massage it into the neck (or back) at the spine area. It supposedly helps to increase synovial fluid and I have been able to pop my neck 20 minute after applying.

I am guessing you have tried magnesium oil?

What about castor oil packs on the area overnight? That helps me wherever I have pain.

Alternating warm and cool (not hot and cold) applications is another great pain reliever. The cool reduces inflammation and the warm increases circulation for healing.

I am also guessing you have tried internal turmeric?

Sitting cross legged on the floor helps me to get pressure off of my lower back. Just 20 minutes a day.

I also use a large exercise ball to sit on when using my laptop for short periods of time to relieve back pressure and help me with balance.

Keep us posted. I hope you find a solution that helps solves this for you.

Dear Mama to Many,

Thank you so much for your quick response. I have tried ALA and Serrapeptase. I have not tried Turmeric. What will that do? How would I take that? My husband is going to get me some gel caps. How many or how much and how often? I am open to anything... to get some relief. I have not used Mag oil because I do not have any. I do take 1 or 2 Epsom salt and Borax baths, each day. I use Stop Pain which has Frankincense and other warming ingredients in it, this gives a little relief. I also use (as you probably already know) Lugol's and mag oxide, zinc, super B, cod liver oil, baking soda, ACV, and salt loading. I have been using oregano and coconut oil for the headaches, in gel caps...not sure why it works...but it does in 7 mins.

As for the Mullein Root Tincture, I do not know anything about that. We have a local Herb and Vitamin shop, I can get my husband to look for it there. Does that grow wild here in the south or do you grow it? How do you make a tincture from it...vodka?

As far as sitting on the floor and ball I have not tried that. I have always been a floor sitter and haven't tried since I was hurt. I will try both.

I use castor oil everyday on my foot. Not packs, just rub it on especially when it is cold, as it warms it up. I will try the packs. It is such a large area, going from my back to my hip and down my leg, so I am not sure which area to cover first.

I am not sure when I will get to return to work and I am scared about that. This has been a long recovery so far. I am not even able to stand up straight, yet. I just do small tasks and rest.

Thank you again for your response. You are such a beautiful soul!

Dear Epeach,

Sorry to take a while to answer your questions!

I make turmeric capsules since we use them a lot for many things. I usually take 2-4 of them 2-3 times a day. Turmeric is a wonderful anti-inflammatory.

Perhaps a better way is to make Golden Milk. This also includes some fat and black pepper to make it work better.

Yes, Mullein grows well all around the US. I see it all the time along roadsides. I drive by it (and pokeberry, too) thinking - "all this untapped healing right under our noses!" Since you have so many things to try, keep mullein in mind for future consideration. I do make a tincture from the root with vodka.

With the castor oil packs, you could try just on the lower back. Sciatica and leg pain problems usually stem from lower back inflammation. That has been my experience anyway.

You have many great suggestions from Janet, Barbara and Hisjewel! I am hopeful for you that something is going to help you feel much better. Keep us posted!

I wanted to update you on what remedies I have used, so far. I made some cayenne and turmeric caps and took those for a few days. My sinuses opened up, but I do not know if it really did anything for pain.

My husband went to the local feed store and bought some DMSO. We mixed it 50/50 with distilled water in an empty Lugol's bottle. I assumed this was about as sterile as you can get! He applied it to my lower back. I felt some stinging, not unbearable, for about 5 minutes. I laid on my stomach until it dried. When I got up I felt looser. I can't really say how it worked, but the burning and throbbing was gone. As the day wore on, the pain came back. He reapplied 99 percent with a cotton ball, 6 hours later. I did not notice any improvement in pain.

The next day (yesterday), I took a bath with Borax, Epsom Salts, and Peroxide. When I got out and I dried off, I applied 99 percent to myself. I was so tired the whole day. I have only taken 1 nap since I was injured. At PT, they used a TENS machine on my lower back with heat. I came home and took a nap, it felt so good to be able to relax.(That was the only time the TENS machine did that for me. They used it each time, but sometimes, I would have them turn it off, because it would cause excruciating muscle spasms) The DSMO made me feel super relaxed, I could not keep my eyes open. I took a good long nap! It may have been the combination of the bath and DMSO???

This morning I woke up and feel refreshed. I feel like each breath is so clean. I am not doubled over in pain. I am not pain free, but feel relieved. I cannot explain it. I now have hope. I will try other things, but will add them one at a time. I want to know what is working and what is not.

Thank you, again! I am so glad I found this website a few years ago. I believe GOD led me here.
