Enlarged Tonsils / Adenoids in 4 Year Old

Posted By Georgia (Cape Town, South Africa) on 02/27/2024

Hello, nice to be in this group.

My nearly 4 year old son is breathing mainly through the mouth and snoring. I took him to the doctor and they found out that his tonsils are very enlarged and his adenoids as well. This means at night, when he goes into deep sleep, he snores and also needs to moved around a lot, to be able to breathe.

They suggest having the tonsils and adenoids removed in a full anestesia operation which is really full on for a small kid.

Before I consider an operation, I wanna make sure I do everything to find and treat the root cause of this inflammation. Currently we are leaving out all dairy products (even though he doesnt show signs of this being an issue, but dairy can be inflammatory)

Does anyone have any tips/ advice or pointers on what else I can do, before we consider surgery? Thank you so much

I do not know what sort of access you would have to obtain holistic antibiotics. That is what he needs to have to avoid the surgery. I would suggest oil of oregano. There are many others such as grapefruit seed extract, olive leaf, echinacea, goldenseal, uva ursi, etc. If you cannot obtain capsules and/or tablets, then see if you can get oregano from a grocery store. You could have him gargle with hydrogen peroxide. Best if you can buy or make food grade 3% hydrogen peroxide. I feel for him as I had tonsillitis as an adult and had my tonsils out. With what I know now, I would never have done it. Tonsils do provide a service and without them, swallowing is different. If this happened to me now, I would be drinking colloidal silver all day long. I have the ability to make CS at home though. If you can google it, you can find ways to make it yourself. Colloidal silver kills bacteria and viruses. Best wishes for you and your son.

Most likely it's caused from an infection of some type. Try spraying the back of their throat and the nasal passages with colloidal silver 10ppm several times daily for a while to see if it clears up.

Also, tincture of Goldenseal root taken in water would be beneficial.

As an addition to the other things you’re trying, I would do red light therapy. The best LED bulb I have found is the brand HOOGA. They sell a small handheld bulb containing red and near infrared light, and it’s also a high intensity which is important. Hold very close to the neck and even shine into the mouth. Try for 10-15 minutes several times weekly. It can help.
