Help with Food and Airborne Allergies

Question by Anonymous (Anonymous) on 08/21/2011

Hi Ted,

I'm 22 and I suffer with many food and airborne allergies. I came across earthclinic when looking for natural remedies to cure/lessen allergies. I saw a whole bunch of success stories of people using apple cider vinegar to alleviate there symptoms, so for the past two days I've been having 2 tbs to 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda. I do notice a difference, but I know it takes the body a decent amount of time to heal so I plan to continue taking ACV for a few months to see if it works.

Allergies are ruling my life and making me miserable. They have lead to my depression and anxiety. I have sinusitis (always have big dark circles under my eyes), dry itchy skin, keratosis pilaris, acne. I will break out in skin rashes when I eat something I'm intolerant/allergic too, or when I'm around airborne allergies. My body always feels inflamed, it's terrible. It's hard for me to function and when people say it's all in my head it only makes me worse. This has been going on for close to 5 years now, and I know it was because of my terrible eating habits and the many antibiotics I've taken for acne. For the last 2 years I've changed my diet to a plant based foods. Lots of veggies, fruits, nuts/seeds, grains and some meat. They have helped with some aspects of my life but not my allergies. I have been seeking for a cure and I thought I could do it through diet. It doesn't seem to be enough. I've been to all sorts of naturopaths, doctors, allergist but none of them can help me. It's cost me a fortune and it seems like I'm missing something.

I read about you in the "About us" section on earthclinic and have read various of you posts. I saw in your mini write up that your dad was able to cure his sinus infection through taking large doses of vitamin C. When I saw that it gave me some hope. I did some more reading about people curing there allergies by doing the same. A naturopath I saw said take as much vitamin C until you have loose stools, then lessen the dose. That leads me to my questions.

1. Is there a specific kind of vitamin C I need to take
2. Is there any other supplements I should take to get rid of my allergies I also take a multivitamin and acidophilus.
3. How should I take Vitamin C All at once or 3 times a day taking X amount of pills
4. Should I keep taking ACV if I'm taking large doses of vit c
5. I have a lot of food intolerances/allergies, how is it even possible to eat a healthy diet when your allergic to so many healthy things Do you just ignore it and eat it anyways and get to the root of the problem
6. I work on a construction site which is always dusty and the air is always full of other nasty things, would it be best to quit or will it not matter when I start taking the right supplements

I would be so thankful if you could give me some answers on how to rid myself of allergies. Its been a huge burden.

Thanks for your time.

There is a couple of basics of allergies that needs to be covered:
1. The body's acidity determines the level of allergy. For example, the more acidity you are the more allergies you get. Since nerves are "overstimulated" the same is true for people who don't sleep, but with overstimulation, they also get allergies, but other conditions unrelated are also the same, hyperactivity, inflammation, overactivity, etc. 2. The diets are high in glutamic acid and aspartic acid, and somewhat high in phenylalanine, and perhaps low in histidine. These imbalance creates an excitotoxicity, combined with sugar, especially ribose, fructose, glucose, but especially the general nature of diets high in carbohydrates. These create an ideal environment for allergies.
3. Runny nose and overstimulated can instantly be reduced with sea salt, so these people with allergies may in fact be low in sea salt diets. A table salt would not do, as it is "acid" in nature. It's pH is around 5, while sea salt it is closer to 7.0 to 7.5 pH. Should I have this symptoms 1/4 teaspoon in one cup of water will reduce runny nose in less then 5 minutes.
4. Certain supplements may lower allergies such as vitamin C, but it is related to diets are low in lysine, glycine, proline, which has to do with your protective collagen that protects you against allergy in the first place. So a person with a genetic deficiency having to do with collagen has a potential for allergies. This can easily be alleviated by lysine, proline, glycine and vitamin C. The collagen nutrients.
5. There are certain people who has some sort of irritant, and that causes their lungs to contract and produce a collagen, due to the environment, some are sensitive to benzene and react strongly to these because their body lack certain oil solubility to get rid of these benzene (gasoline is the same) in their system that means the detoxing mechanism is lacking in N acetyl Cysteine, which in combination with glycine and glutamine create glutathione, responsible for detoxing. But humans I found is amazingly low in B3 and selenium, these are also necessary for detoxing especially selenium, which is necessary for producing glutathione to counteract the allergens.
6. Enzymes in the body is necessary, to break apart the protein sequences that are foreign in the body that produces the allergen. So taking a simple bromelain, pancreatin, and other enzymes will break these protein down. There are cancer cells that create these foreign protein too, that will cause irritation and causes the liver to overworked detoxing.
7. Tannic acid will make or cause deactivation of protein circulating the the blood to lessen. So you get less circulating allergen proteins.
8. Fungus is a common allergen protein too, that's mostly found in construction sites and these do cause it as much as pollen, but I see more of the black mold or those found in clothes that's washed, but hasn't been dried properly to contain the allergen needed to stimulate allergy, I have it myself when this fungus mold, usually invisible and you cannot even smell it, but when you do, you get terrible sneeze so it's there. The easiest preventive method is to get ammonium chloride solution, say 5 or 10% and spray very lightly is enough to kill them and so is your sneeze. You can spray the premises to get rid of this also, and a little goes a long way.

When a person also has acne with the allergy, it means there are too high of undigested proteins circulating the body and then the body doesn't function, there is too much of the foreign protein but also sugar and fruit sugar only puts fuel to the fire, as in the case of fungus in the body too, such as aspergilis niger. A person who has not been exposed can caused deadly allergies such as peanut allergy, this can be dealt with a homeopathic remedy of the allergen so the body can learn, but is rejected my mainstream medicine in favor of very dilute solutions of allergens, I think is same thing. So the body learns from that. The one thing I like to tell you is that drinking tea, without caffeine, such as white tea lowers the allergy because it is the tannic acid that deactivates them, enzymes does that by digestion, liver does that by detoxing with glutathione, etc.

I could go on forever, with this, but answer to your questions:

1. Is there a specific kind of vitamin C I need to take

I would try sodium ascorbate. They are alkaline form of ascorbic acid.

2. Is there any other supplements I should take to get rid of my allergies I also take a multivitamin and acidophilus.

Multivitamin would help very little, acidophilus would help especially after antibiotics, but no permanent and lasting thing. I will concentrate on N Acetyl Cysteine, 250 mg, twice a day and Enzymes, very strong ones. I make my own and it's 10% bromelain 6500 GDU, but that's only bromelain, but it helps if there is other enzymes too. Bromelain is my cure for acne as well as other people I see here.

DO NOT TAKE ACCUTANE, or other names (isoretinion) it can lead to life long autoimmunity and allergy buildup by decreasing sebaceous glands and intestinal villi, that decreases the ability to get rid of toxins and it causes all kinds of autoimmunity at leads to lifelong disability. Acne is simply too much fats build up in your system as a result of dietary choices e.g. potato chips, chocolate, fried chicken, etc. Bromelain and lipase taken everyday would reduces this issue just the same without the side effects, and change your diet!

3. How should I take Vitamin C All at once or 3 times a day taking X amount of pills

First thing in morning sea salt 1/4 teaspoon in a cup of warm water. This will reduce runny nose instantly. Then I will start vitamin C. 500 x 6 is a good one. But to create collagen responsible for protective effects consider lysine, glycine, and proline, especially lysine and glycine. Glycine binds to fat cells and it helps with immune response and reduces to some extent acne too.

4. Should I keep taking ACV if I'm taking large doses of vit c
You can, take it, but also consider lime and baking soda remedy too. Its effect is very different, but has synergism on allergies, for example the lemon oil content, d limonene dissolves oils that has to do with the acne.

5. I have a lot of food intolerances/allergies, how is it even possible to eat a healthy diet when your allergic to so many healthy things Do you just ignore it and eat it anyways and get to the root of the problem

Your body is not alkaline enough and there's not enough of lysine, N acetyl cysteine and selenium for one. Years ago I participated in a forum to cure this by just alkaline a group of autistic children and ADHD, because part of the problem has to do with food allergies and one of them can only consume 4 food items out of possible 100 items. When they were just given baking soda, after meals twice times a day, 1/8 or 1/4 teaspoon for 2 to 3 weeks, they were able to eat most of the food. The other remedy is lime, 2 tablespoon and 1/4 baking soda or 1/2 baking soda, mixed in water and drink two times a day. The newer remedy I might use also white tea also, as it has no caffeine and a lot of antioxidants.

6. I work on a construction site which is always dusty and the air is always full of other nasty things, would it be best to quit or will it not matter when I start taking the right supplements

First of all get the body alkaline first, 1/2 teaspoon after meals twice a day for two weeks. Then if there is no further reduction in allergies within 1 month then I might try to avoid it altogether.

The allergy is a big topic and I only scratched the surface.

If they do little help for clarithin used in treatment of allergy, and singular used treatment of asthma, then it is useless, unless it helps. You can take apple cider vinegar and baking soda, or baking soda, either. If you want to take all two remedy, it can be scheduled as apple cider vinegar and baking soda in morning and lunch, and baking soda at before sleep or night time.

Anonymous replies: " Hi Ted, I recently sent you an email regarding my allergies. If you don't mind answering a few more of my questions I would be grateful.

1. I take ACV with 1/2 tsp of baking soda 3 times a day. I also take 1/8 teaspoon after two meals each day (usually the more acidic meals). And I also take 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda in 2 tbs twice a day. Is this to much baking soda What should I reduce if it is

2. How long does taking ACV, baking soda and lime take to improve allergies I've done it for about 6 days and I do notice it helps a little. Is it going to take a few months to heal my sinusitis

3. Is there any other supplements I should take along with the ACV/baking soda/lime treatment

4. I took accutane when I was younger. I wasn't on it for long. Is this going to reduce my chances of eliminating my allergies "

Notice your symptoms if its less. Baking soda if taken say 1/2 teaspoon a day, to get properly alkalized takes about 2 weeks. But there may be other factors.

2. How long does taking ACV, baking soda and lime take to improve allergies I've done it for about 6 days and I do notice it helps a little. Is it going to take a few months to heal my sinusitis

It takes 2 weeks. If not take lysine 1/2 teaspoon twice a day. The allergies can be due to a couple of things, lack of collagen protection (lysine will help there), hypersensitivity to allergen (alkaline remedies taken for 2 weeks should help or green tea extract), lack of electrolytes (usually sea salt will help, in an instant), heavy metal toxicity (chlorella will help there), over nervous or anxiety (B3 niacinamide NOT niacin), and strength of cellular integrity (bee propolis, Red wine extract, grape seed extract).

3. Is there any other supplements I should take along with the ACV/baking soda/lime treatment

More then you think see above.

4. I took accutane when I was younger. I wasn't on it for long. Is this going to reduce my chances of eliminating my allergies

Yes, it makes your intestinal villi decreased so you cannot detox. Gum arabic maybe 20 grams a day, or just oat bran or rice bran will help.

"Forgot to ask, I take claritin and singulair should I continue taking them They do seem to help a little. Also can I take the lime and baking soda as well as ACV/baking soda, and baking soda twice a day after two meals Is that to much "
