Dear Oscar,

I couldn't thank you enough for your research on BHT and for providing people, including me, with very useful information.

I was diagnosed with Chronic Hep B in February 2014.

My PCR test (viral load) result last February (2014) was 800 but on February 2015, after one year, the amount of the virus in my blood was up to 1,200.

I consumed one 250mg of BHT for one month and one week, with water on an empty stomach, twice a day which is 500 mg of BHT per day.

My viral load with BHT after one month and one week was 860 according to my test results from yesterday. That's 30 percent less than it was in my previous blood test two months ago.

I really hope that BHT treatment is working for me! I certainly intend to maintain BHT treatment with periodic blood tests.

I started with 250 mg per day for 3 days and then I raised the amount to 500 mg of BHT per day.

I weight 54 kg.

My liver function levels are all normal.

While consuming BHT I haven't experienced any side effects at all.

When I started my BHT treatment I stopped taking Milk Thistle, Colloidal silver, Turmeric, vitamin D3, Licorice root, Pukka - Vitalise, reishi shiitake maitake mushroom extract, probiotics, and Phyllanthus.

I am still taking Armour Thyroid 60 mg due to a low thyroid hormone levels.

Since Pukka - Vitalise helped me to feel better, do you think that I can consume this product with BHT? What about probiotics?

Does it matter from what company the BHT product is purchased? I ordered my BHT from Amazon - Wholesale Nutrition LLC.

Thank you again for everything you've done to help me and many others who are desperate to find a treatment for our disease.

(sorry for my English mistakes)

Sarah

Oscar, I feel that I can speak for many others on this forum when I say "Thank You for all that You Do" helping offer options to those of us who are battling this nasty virus.

And, I got pretty good news today. I have continued with the BHT treatment that I described in my earlier post. Last check for viral load count was 2,028,000 middle of last December, 2014. I was just rechecked two weeks ago. My viral load is now 1,202,000. About 40% lower in 4 months!

I feel that we are making progress. I certainly intend to maintain this treatment with periodic blood tests to check progress on load reduction. Probably about every 6 months, because the tests are ridiculously expensive when I have my family doctor order them. And unfortunately my insurance company leaves a lot to be desired. Do you know of any less expensive sources for this test procedure?

Oscar, Thanks Again

Hello Jparkin48, The people who first discovered that BHT deactivates lipid coated viruses are: Snipes, Person, Keith, and Cupp. Their ground breaking research was first published in the journal Science volume 188, pages 64-66 in 1975. Titled " Butylated Hydroxytoluene Inactivates Lipid-containing Viruses ".

I read about their research in Durk Pearson and Sandy Shaw`s book: "The Life Extension Companion ". Pearson and Shaw discuss the use of BHT to treat the different herpes viruses in that book. But they do advise people with liver disease to NOT use BHT.

But back in 1997 there was only the first of the interferon drugs available for treating hepatitis C. The results were poor at best as was explained to me by the VA doctor I was seeing.

So, after learning that hepatitis C was very much a lipid coated virus I figured: What have I got to lose given interferon`s poor tract record along with it`s many severe adverse effects ?

So I bought some BHT and began using it with amazingly good results....Oscar

Dear Jparkin48 from NC, Ok, I will answer your questions as best I can.

1. Yes, for you weighing 180 pounds, 250mg of BHT taken twice a day is the recommended dosage with water on an empty stomach. Do start with the one dose of 250mg of BHT for the first 3 days. If no adverse reactions are experience go to the 2 doses of 250mg of BHT per day with water on an empty stomach.

2. I never had any adverse effects using BHT at the dosages discussed.

3. I started feeling better in about one week. After being diagnosed with a failing liver from hepatitis C, ALL of my liver panel test results were NORMAL in one month except one that was close to normal.

4. I have discussed my background as a user of BHT to treat hepatitis C and B extensively here at the EARTH CLINIC. As far as I know I am the first person to try the BHT as a treatment for hepatitis C and B.

If you meant or mean: What educational degrees do I have ? I have a high school GED certificate. I am sorry if that disappoints you. I have studied chemistry, organic chemistry, molecular biology, and biology on my own with colledge level textbooks which is NOT at all the same or equal to having a formal education in those subjects....Oscar

Dear sexymom from Nigeria, I ran a BHT cures group for about 2 years. If you have found a supplier for BHT go with what is available as to what dose the capsules are. There were 4 people I know of who had dramatic improvement for hepatitis B using the BHT and that includes me. Those who did best used the simple treatment I have discussed. One of those 4 people did also use CHIANCA PIEDRA with LESS dramatic results. The group`s main focus was hepatitis C. So there were NOT many people using BHT for hepatitis B. The group members who did the best stuck with the simple BHT treatment though like I said one member did use chianca peidra also. One member who did very well was from an African country where malaria was also one his infections. So it got confusing with him. Was it malaria that caused his temporary liver problem or hepatitis B ? The last report I got from him was that: He did very well with the simple BHT treatment. He was/is Daniel also known as fanny. He went the UK to see doctors there and was told he had " the liver of a newborn baby " meaning his liver was functioning very well and showed NO sign of disease.

As far as weight gain goes the BHT if anything seems to reduce a person`s appetite. It is also a mild stimulant for most people. About the same as having a cup of coffee. I SAY keep the BHT treatment simple for best results. One or two capsules per day with water on an empty stomach taken with a gulp of water....Oscar

BHT is butylated hydroxytoluene. This compound has proven to be an effective treatment for both hepatitis C and B. The recommended dosage is: one 250mg capsule per day with a gulp of water on an empty stomach for people who weigh 130 pounds or less. For those who weigh more you may need more. Start out with the 250mg of BHT per day for one week. Then if no adverse reactions are experienced go to two 250mg capsules per day. One dose in the morning and one at night.

It is important to keep this treatment simple. By that I mean to NOT mix it with other supplements. Many supplements make this treatment NOT work. BHT can and will combine with many other supplements by way of peptide bonds making the treatment NOT work. After many years of following the feedback provided the ONLY supplement I consider alright to take is a standard multivitamin and mineral supplement. And that is optional and NOT part of the treatment.

To effectively treat a viral infection the metabolites of BHT have to be small enough to penetrate those bi-layered lipid coatings. When BHT combines with large molecules including: vitamin B12, milk thistle extracts, and many other supplements the BHT metabolites are FAR too large to penetrate said lipid coatings. This makes it so the BHT treatment does NOT work.

Here is a link to a company that sells BHT in 250mg capsules. 500 capsules for 30 dollars. This company believes in BHT as do I and provides additional information for those interested here:

There have been a number of recent posters in this forum with questions about hepatitis B and C and BHT also. I hope my response or posting is helpful for you people....Oscar

Oscar,

I was a member on the BHT group and apparently it was taken down. I just want to share the benefits of BHT for hepatitis B. I did get a successful treatment of tenofovir (zero VL) prescribed by the VA but when I did stop them due to renal nephrotoxicity side effects it came back. So far it's the simple treatment of BHT on an empty stomach that did it. I also quit drinking and start eating healthy food. I mean non-GMOs or processed foods. For meats grass-fed or non-antibiotic stuff. Organic vegetables for cooking and most of all juicing every morning. I know a lot of succesful stories from the BHT group due to simplicity and healthy eating. Maybe NIH should do some studies on these. Wish Rachel and Cathy can revive the old BHT group. Thanks again Leatherneck for you laborious research. Doc Jorge BLT3/5.

Here are my HBV test results:

9/12/2013
HBV IU/mL: 13400
HBV Copies/mL: 78000

08/20/2012
HBV IU/mL: 10,900
HBV Copies/mL: 63400

1/14/2014
HBV IU/mL: 60,200
HBV Copies/mL: 350,000

3/18/2014
HBV IU/mL: 836
HBV Copies/mL: 2.92

I was taking tenofovir but it was giving me the renal side effects and upon discovering this site, I notice Oscar BHT treatment. Thank you, Sir. It did worked. I started taking BHT along with chanca piedra and the supplements on November 23,2013 but my efgr was going down so I did stop the vitamins and then just vitamin D and B6 for every 2-3 weeks. Then gout flared up on January 2014 started taking opiates then viral load skyrocketed. I also stop taking the B-12. I started taking tart cherry extract along with my BP meds. I think it was the combo of 500 mg of chanca piedra at night and 250 mg of BHT every 2:00 or 3:00 am that did drop down the viral load. My liver enzyme was still elevated but it was decreasing. Thanks again Oscar.

There ARE important updates to the BHT treatment for hepatitis C and B. Importantly, the feedback indicates that vitamin B12 is NOT, I repeat is NOT a recommended supplement for this BHT treatment. Yes of course you need SOME vitamin B12. BUT, adults need LESS than 3mcg [ micrograms ] of B12 per day. The feedback DOES indicate that vitamin B12 used in excessive dosages severely degrades the BHT treatment for hepatitis C and B.

Here is the BHT treatment updated: 2-5-2014

  • The BHT treatment is BHT. The recommended dosages for the use of BHT to treat hepatitis C and B is: 100mg to 350mg of BHT taken with a gulp of water on an empty stomach once or twice a day. Most people in the 150 to 180 pound range do very well with one 250mg capsule of BHT taken twice a day = 500mg of BHT per day.
The less you weigh the less you need. The more you weigh the more you need. Also the fat content of that weight is a factor. People who are thin and have relatively lower fat content tend to have a harder time tolerating BHT. They are more prone to adverse side effects. And as people get beyond the age of 50 years old they tend to have a harder time tolerating BHT.
    Additional information:

Supplements that have been shown to work well with the BHT treatment are:

    1. A regular type multi-vitamin and mineral pill once a day.
    2. A regular type vitamin B complex pill.once a day.
    3. Vitamin C in a daily dosage of between 250mg and 1, 000mg per day.
    4. The lipid monolaurin. Unsure about dosage.

Also, and importantly: Continue taking any doctor prescribed medicines or drugs. Very many of the people who have had dramatic improvement with this BHT treatment are taking a doctor prescribed medicine of one type or another.

SUPPLEMENTS TO AVOID. Do not take:

    1. Milk Thistle and it`s extracts. Degrades the treatment to the point that it no longer works.
    2. Grapefruit juice. Degrades the treatment to the point it no longer works.
    3. Colloidal silver
    4. Hydrogen peroxide taken internally. Hydrogen peroxide is a REACTIVE OXYGEN SPECIES. It will make the BHT treatment NOT work.
    5. MMS [ Miracle Mineral Supplement ]. MMS is chlorine bleach, a very powerful oxidizer that will react with BHT in such a way as to make the treatment not work.
    6. Vitamin E supplements. Yes you NEED some vitamin E. But a normal diet provides plenty. Vitamin E supplements have been shown to enhance lipid coated viruses ability to replicate and should be avoided for that reason.
    7. Any and ALL herbs in theraputic dosages.
    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
For best result stick with those few supplements I listed that have been shown to work well with this treatment in the dosages suggested. Any and all supplements are at best optional....Oscar
