Few things are scarier than a gallbladder attack. Once you recognize the symptoms, a few natural remedies can help relieve pain quickly. Beyond immediate relief, these remedies can support your gallbladder health and prevent future attacks.
Understanding Gallbladder Attacks
The gallbladder, located under the liver, stores bile and releases it into the small intestine to aid fat digestion. Gallbladder attacks often occur due to gallstones blocking the bile duct. Symptoms include:
- Severe abdominal pain
- Pain radiating to the right shoulder
- Nausea and loss of appetite
Quick Relief for Gallbladder Pain
- Apple Cider Vinegar (ACV) and Apple Juice: The most popular remedy on Earth Clinic. Mix 1-2 tablespoons of ACV in a glass of warm apple juice for quick pain relief.
- Pickle Juice: A few swallows of pickle juice may also alleviate pain.
- Lavender Essential Oil: Add one drop to a glass of water and sip slowly.
- Frankincense Essential Oil: Massage 1-2 drops directly onto the skin over the gallbladder area.
- Castor Oil Pack: Apply castor oil to a cloth, place it on the right abdomen, cover with plastic wrap, and apply a heating pad for soothing relief.
- Epsom Salt: Dissolve 1 teaspoon in a glass of water and drink. Alternatively, soak in a warm Epsom salt bath.
- Flaxseed Tea: Boil 2 cups of water, add 1 tablespoon of flaxseeds, simmer for 5 minutes, and steep for 10 minutes. Strain, sweeten if desired, and sip slowly.
