I have bv and have tried multiple prescriptions. I started flooding my body with probiotics both orally and vaginally along with taking vitamins orally. Now my skin smells like vinegar and I noticed today my bowel movements smell like vinegar. What is causing this?

I have dealt with bacterial vaginosis for 2 years with very distressing odor issues. I would hate it when someone followed me into a restroom stall in our office building, and I would spritz the toilet with cleaner after I used it at my boyfriend's. I initially feared probiotics would not work until I saw a suggestion that BV responds to certain strains, notably lactobacillus rhamnosus and I think salivarius. I started with a pricey name brand, and the odor and other symptoms were gone in four days. I had normal odor after sex and exercise, but that was it. I dropped down to every other day and was still fine. Unfortunately, a week after I stopped altogether it came back. So I bought a generic with rhamnosus, and it is back under control. I think the other one was slightly more effective -- either quality or quantity or had more strains such as salivarius. It also contains the usual strains like acidophilus. If you look for a "women's brand" you will probably find the right combos unlike the mainstream ones for digestion. I would definitely explore different brands and strains as long as they at least contain the rhamnosus. It is taken by mouth once day. Good luck as I know this was very distressing for me and now under control.

I first went to the doc for BV about 2 months ago, but I believe I had the infection for about a month or two before I went to the doctor. Horrible smelly discharge and sooo itchy. I knew nothing about BV and when I was given Flagyl, I was like "perfect, there's a medicine for this, it'll be cured in no time." HA. My symptoms barely even subsided, and came back full force once the pills were gone. So I went back to the doctor, and was prescribed the same thing. I was so frustrated. I felt like an alien and I wanted to just hide. I was so uncomfortable all the time and BV was all I could think about, honestly it made me so depressed. I started researching and came across home remedies and natural cures. I believe it's extremely important to not only kill the bad bacteria present, but it's essential to restore the vagina to its normal pH and begin the regrowth of the good bacteria, or else the bad will simply take over again. This is why antibiotics don't work. I started using tea tree oil suppositories and noticed a major improvement right away, but I knew I needed to add probiotics if I was going to get my vagina back on track for good. I purchased Probiotics with Prebiotics and Cranberry capsules, Folic acid, and Acidophilus. I started taking two of each every morning, inserting one each day into my vagina, and taking more orally at night. noticed a chance immediately! I continued to use the tea tree oil as well. No discharge, and no smell. I'm going to continue the vaginal insertions for about a week, and the oral routine for life. I'm so happy I finally found relief.

Having done a lot of reading about probiotics and BV (my friend is a nutritional therapist and has fowarded me a TON! ) it seems to be that the article should rather recommend rhamnosus and reuteri, over acidophilus? These strains appear to have been pretty well researched when it comes to female health. Some of the studies here look promising. What do you think?

After my period in Feb, I noticed that my labia and vulva was incredibly itchy and swollen. Of course, this was the beginning of a yeast infection. I managed to get rid of that with avc, however bv (yellow discharge, fishy/unpleasant smell and swelling of the labia) showed up shortly after and the pills the doctor gave me did not work at all.

I tried h202 but I did not douche. Instead I placed two cotton buds(swabs) in a solution of 3% h202 and then placed them up my vagina. I did that twice a day for a week and I saw an improvement with both smell and colour BUT it wasn't working as well as I liked mainly because I was not thoroughly cleansing the entire vagina but instead as far as the cotton buds would go. Shortly after this I got my period so I could no longer use the h202 method.

I then tried a probiotic blend (Bifidobacterium longum; Lactobacillus rhamnosus; Bifidobacterium infantis; Lactobacillus acidophilus; Lactobacillus reuteri HA-188) (the other one DOES NOT WORK in my experience, you need this one because it has the right bacteria in it which travels to the vagina) and I saw an improvement almost immediately. I was worried that my discharge would be weird again but it is absolutely normal (for me). There is no smell, no heavy yellow discharge, no itchy, no swelling, no nothing. It has now been two weeks since I started taking the probiotics and I feel 100% again.

I took only take one per day at noon. I also eat around 100grams of greek natural yoghurt per day and I truly believe that these two helped my flora return to normal. I am so thankful for that because I was suffering for over a month with both yeast and bv (more bv than yeast! Thankfully the yeast cleared up along with the bv).

Someone mentioned getting candida after a bout with bv. I had the very same issue. In fact, I had them both at once, imagine that horror. I took one pack of 2 billion probiotic s for 7 days, plus L-glutamine, digestive enzymes, aloe Vera juice, and my yeast infection is GONE. My Dr.Confirmed it today. I also significantly curbed my sugar intake. Yeast loves sugar, so starve it... Anything anti-yeast.

This is a remedy you'll probably have to use every night/most nights, but it works. Alternatively you may need to do a bit of experimentation to get the right balance for you. There's a probiotic which comes in tablet form Called Lactobacillus Sporogenes made by a well known vitamin company (initials HN) and is available from a well known auction site. These tablets are for oral consumption, and I take them orally, but they can also be used as vaginal suppositories. I have used 1/2 to 1 tablet per night but you may need less. I would advise using no more than one per night though to avoid any mild irritation. The tablets contain a hardy lactic acid producing bacteria and also fructooligisaccharides which act as nourishment for the lactobacillus bacteria themselves. When the tablets come into contact with warmth and moisture they begin to produce lactic acid thus acidifying the vagina and preventing the bad bacteria from overgrowing. The odor disappears and discharge produced is healthier. Remember some discharge which is clear to cloudy is normal.

The tablets are easy to insert and do leak a little as they dissolve over night, but are more discreet, far more straight forward to use and far less messy than any other home remedy I've tried, and I've tried lots. The tablets are also less expensive than many other over the counter treatments and have kept my symptoms at bay for over a year. I highly recommend you try this home treatment. I was getting desperate before I found these, and I totally sympathise with those of you suffering with this condition, it can be a real living nightmare. I truly believe more research needs to be done in to the use of probiotics as treatment for Bacterial Vaginosis and it's a shame there isn't more of a spotlight on this humiliating problem.

With regards to other home remedies my advice would be as follows - Each woman is different and not everything will work for everyone, you must find what works for you, undoubtably something will. However I would say this- never put anything in your vagina which you wouldn't put in your mouth. Natural is probably best, and chemicals may make things worse in the long run. I hope my suggested treatment works for you and helps you to find some peace.

BV has been something that has haunted me for years. It has caused many trips to the gyno, stunk up my sex life and even helped turn conception to a chemical pregnancy. It is really just an awful infection that can really embarrass and inconvenience a girl.

With that being said, I wanted to share with everyone how I have beat this thing! The last 2 weeks have been completely BV free. Woohoo!

I started with a trip to the gyno. She prescribed me metrogel (again) and I knew that if I really wanted this thing gone I would have to partner up with some other natural cures. I did some research and stocked up on probiotics. These little guys saved my lady parts. I started taking them right after I started the metrogel. My logic was that the meds would be killing ALL of the bacteria in my bod, so I needed to build up the good ones before the bad took over again.

I also decided to switch up my diet while on the meds just to help push my good bacteria over the edge. To do the same you would need to cut out processed sugars, booze and grains completely. Also, limit dairy, fruits, and caffeine. So basically I just ate veggies, lean proteins, yogurt and pure cranberry juice all week. It was a rough week, but it seemed to do the job. (:

A couple of other notes--

  • I went out and bought Summers Eve PH wipes and shower gel from Walgreens. It seemed to help!
  • When I have alot of sex or just got off of my period I take two probotics. One in the morning and one with dinner.
  • The metrogel causes a yeast infection in most women. Just head to Walgreens and get the 3 or 7 day pack and keep doing what your doing.
  • I still attempt to make healthy food choices, processed foods are out and green veggies in!
  • I drink a small glass of Kefir in the morning, or eat a bunch of greek yogurt. Both are plain and unsweetened, but you could add a couple of berries to spice things up if you have a bad sweet tooth. I also drink pure cran juice whenever I can. Its pretty sour but if you cut it with sparkling water its not too bad. (:
  • I now make my man clean up before we get intimate and I always shower with the PH wash after. Or if anything I'd use the PH wipes when in a bind. (Oh! And TMI-- I won't let him cum inside me anymore, sperm has a PH of 7 and our lady parts need to be at 4.5)
  • I'm still taking the probotic every morning and hope one day to stop completely. But I figure that if I have to take this one small pill for the rest of my life to not have BV, I'm ok with that.

I hope this helps and works for you ladies!

Best Wishes! -A

Natural Cures (Orange County, California) on 01/29/2013:

For the past three years I have been battling Bacterial Vaginosis (BV) that came out of nowhere. I have been given various antibiotics' in different dosages and for different times with the infection coming back a week or so after treatment. I have even taken a probiotic along with the antibiotic only to have the infection come back. I have used the Hydrogen Peroxide remedy only to find that it's a temporary fix and the symptoms return the next day. I finally was introduced by a new PA I went to visit to Luvena a new natural over the counter product that is available in most retail stores. I did some research here on your website and decided after three years of no cure to take several natural remedies together to see if they function and I have finally found something that works. All the products I purchased at a local Walmart and they are these: VH Essentials BV Treatment, Luvena Probiotic Vaginal Moisturizer Inserts, B-12 2, 500 mcg, Zinc 50 mg, Garlic 1000 mg, Folic Acid 800 mg, and UltimateFlora 15 Billion Probiotic in the yellow box.

I started my treatment after my period which is when symptoms flare up a bit more. And I started in the morning by taking my B-12 capsule and 1 garlic capsule. At night before I went to bed I inserted my VH Essentials BV Treatment vaginal suppository and placed a panty liner on my underwear because there is some discharge and took 2 Folic Acid capsules, 1 Zinc, 1 UltimateFlora Probiotic. During this time avoid any sexual activity which is roughly 6 days. After the VH Essentials BV treatment is finished continue taking the vitamin supplements and begin to use Luvena every 3 days during the night. Make sure you wear a pantyliner at night because the only bad thing about Luvena is that it drips. As I have stated continue to take all vitamin supplements and do Luvena once every three days.

I have been BV free for 3 weeks which is a record in itself because I have at the longest been only 1 week BV free. I'm very excited and I will continue this regimen until I feel that my vagina has reached it's normal level of flora. I hope everyone else that tries this has the same success because this infection has been nothing but negative to me.

I just wanted to let everyone know that my 15 year old had been taking an antibiotic for acne for about 7 months and wound up with BV. She was miserable with odor, discharge, all that. I searched and searched for her an answer and found out that it is a particular type of probiotic that you need (multi-strain). I wish I had the link but I found what she needed on vitamin website.

[Probiotics w/ Reuteri] capsuls

It cleared her up within 10-14 days. She was very happy and continued taking them for a couple of more weeks. No side effects. It has not returned. (She is no longer on that anti-biotic either)

Hope this helps! It did her!

I'd like to begin by thanking everybody for posting your experiences. This site has been extremely helpful.

I first got BV at the end of November 2011. I had no idea what was wrong with me but I knew it wasn't a yeast infection and I knew it wasn't normal. I went to my family doctor as I recommend everyone should. She did not examine me but diagnosed me with BV and prescribed Flagyl. I took it as a vaginal suppository. It seemed to clear it up. I went to my gyno in January 2012 and had a test to be sure and unfortunately it was still there. Results came in just as symptoms came back. I now tried Flagyl in pill form. It made me quite ill but again seemed to clear it up. Again, that only seemed to last for a couple of months before symptoms were back. I did not want to be on antibiotics constantly or even every few months so I started looking at alternatives.

Thanks to this site, I found some. I started taking probiotics every day. I had taken them while on antibiotics but not after. So taking them daily was working but only as a control. As long as I remembered to take them, I was symptom free, but if I skipped a day, symptoms came back. I tried high doses for several days to see if I could regain balance, but again when I stopped taking them, the symptoms still came back. So I finally went back to my gyno, and she prescribed clindamycin as a cream to be used intravaginally. That was in late July 2012. I continued taking probiotics which you should do whenever taking any type of antibiotic. Symptoms disappeared. I went back about a month later and there was no BV!! But despite taking probiotics, I still ended up with a yeast infection. Hopefully the clindamycin will have taken care of it completely and it doesn't come back in a couple of months.

I will say, like most here, probiotics are a must. Your doctor may not have much to say about it, even mine said "It's not what we're taught", but BV and yeast are both about an imbalance of bacteria, and probiotics help maintain or restore that balance. I've continued taking them regularly and hope this is the end of BV for me. Best of luck to you all!

Ladies, there is an innovative, effective Vaginal Probiotic now on the market. It has excellent reviews, and the results are nothing short of miraculous! It's formulated for vaginal use, and is a super-concentrated blend of 11 probiotics specifically for use inside the vagina... No need to use oral probiotics "down there" ever again with this magical stuff! I rid myself of years of repeat BV and Yeast infections that prescriptions could not treat. I am so happy and confident again, and my sex life with my husband has returned... I could cry tears of joy! (btw, I buy mine on Amazon, but the company also has a very informative website where you can buy from too)

I just wanted to share my experience suffering with BV. I NEVER had a problem with vaginal infections in my life.... Until I took Prilosec. I did not suffer from acid reflux but gastrisis. I was told this mecidation was safe. However a month after starting it I noticed for the first time in my life, brown discharge. So I just want to throw this out there for woman who might be suffering from BV. GET OFF the anti acid medications... It messes with the natural balance of not only your stomach, but other organs... including female parts.

I still to this day have an on-off problem with BV despite discontinuing the drug over a year ago. Probiotics (fem-dolphis and Kefir milk), folic acid and wearing cotton underwear help me, but I've never been 100% normal.

The use of probiotics being places directly in the vagina is very effective. I insert it like I would an o.b. and almost experienced fast relief. I also take probiotics orally. As to how often I should use them directly I am curious. I have suffered from UTI for several years and the antibiotics have destroyed my system. I also find comfort in wiping with tea tree oil on cotton. I hope to get rid of this problem forever. One thing that has helped is acupuncture! I get fast relief and a better understanding of how my infection all began. I recommend acupuncture to anyone before or while on antibiotics. It's very effective!

This Worked For Me (Washington, Dc) on 10/16/2009:
5 out of 5 stars

I suffered from Vulvodynia, BV and Yeast infections for about 4 or 5 years. Flagyl/Metrogel/Metronidazole to treat the BV would subsequently kill the good bacteria in the vagina (and intestines) and cause yeast infections. Then the antifungals for the yeast infections would further irritate the mucus membranes. This vicious cycle, along with diet, brought about the vulvodynia. Here's what worked for me:

1) For the BV --- I was given two weeks of flagyl. I told myself that that would be the last time I'd use flagyl. During and after that treatment I went to wholefoods and bought probiotics with atleast one billion live and active cultures per serving. I used ___ and ___ everyday (___ is often used for those with chronic yeast infections like HIV patients. Very powerful. After two weeks it was clear. It's been about 4 years and I have not had BV or a yeast infection since then. PROBIOTICS ARE AN ABSOLUTE MUST FOR A HEALTHY VAGINA AND INTESTINES.THERE IS NO WAY AROUND IT. CONSUMER REPORTS HAS A LIST OF REPUTABLE PROBIOTICS BECAUSE MANY ARE GIMMICKS OR INFEFFECTIVE.

2) For the Yeast--- I eliminated cheese, yeast, breads, cured meats and did a a mostly pescatarian diet, seafood with fruits and veggies, brown rice. I also cut out alcohol for at least a month. I have not had a yeast infection in 3 or 4years. Now I pretty much eat what I want, but I am mindful. Moderation is key.

As for HPV --- the jury is still out. I had a pap in June 07 and June 08 and both times I tested positive for HPV (hpv sensitive test) but my paps have been normal. My next pap and hpv test is next week. For the past year I've taken 800 to 1200 milligrams of folic acid everyday, a prenatal, vitamin A (spinach, mixed leafy greens, carrot juice). I'm anxious to see if it has helped. I will report back regarding the hpv. As for the bv and yeast --- it hasn't returned in 4 years:-) Probitics that include reuteri, acidophilus, bifodus etc are key.

Bacterial Vaginosis: I have been visiting this site for a few months now, and I'm relieved to see that I'm not alone! I'm hoping to answer some questions as to how much acidophilus to take ,how it's taken, etc. In MY experience, I like to take 1 acidophilus every day, as many CFU's as you can get. Mine has 35 billion and 14 different strains of bacteria and it seems to be enough IF it's taken regularly. Some ladies have asked why BV comes back if they skip 2-3 days in a row, and I personally think it's because your bacterial balance is always changing-from having sex, what you're eating, douching (which is bad, no matter what). So I think you need to maintain the balance every day. I'm more than willing to take a few extra pills a day if it means not getting BV! Why not?! As far as inserting the acidophilus directly into the vaj, I take one capsule and cut it open and mix the powder with alittle KY jelly, put it in an applicator that's used for inserting yeast infection meds, and insert it that way. It's tedious, but it absolutely works! I've thought about just inserting the whole capsule inside, but I'm not convinced that it will dissolve in there! Does anyone have input on that-any tips? Sometimes it only took one dose, sometimes it took a few capsules more. I also take about 800mcg of folic acid every day too, just for added benefits. So I hope this info helps others, and thank you to all who have posted their experiences for me to learn from!

Worked Temporarily

Hi all,

So I haven't been diagnosed with BV, but have been to 3 doctors in the 6 months that I've been having problems. The problem began with a thin, milky, profuse discharge for the first month and a bad smell that never got overwhelming, but was always present. All 3 BV tests I had came back negative, but I'm certain that's what I've got since I've ruled out all other problems (got STI tests done at the same time and am in a monogamous relationship with my partner).

So the smell has ebbed and flowed. The discharge went away after the first month. I've been taking" _____ Multi-Probiotic", which was the most complete probiotic I could find. The smell goes away when I take this capsule consistently, but if I miss a day or two, the smell is right back, like it never went away.

I'm confused about this boric acid vs apple cider vinegar debate. As I understand, vaginas are naturally on the acidic side of the pH scale. A fluctuation in vaginal pH usually means things are getting alkaline, and that's what's causing problems. So why douche with boric acid and make things even more alkaline? I thought that sperm was sometimes problematic for vaginas because it's alkaline and vaginas are acidic? (I don't sleep with men, so I don't know about that personally.) I don't understand how boric acid can help, but all of these doctors are prescribing it to the people in this forum! I also don't want to start messing around with drinking vinegar because I've had candida problems as well as acid reflux in the past and vinegar/acidic foods don't do well in my body.

Does anyone have any good, scientific links to supply more information on either boric acid or ACV beyond just "it worked for me"? I'd like to know WHY it's supposed to work.

Also, folic acid. Why is it supposed to work? Beyond just the supposition that it's a "woman's vitamin" because it's a (very good) prenatal supplement for neural tube defects in fetuses. Please be careful about taking too much folic acid- I've seen some posters here detailing the amounts of folic acid they are taking- and it's a lot! Too much folic acid can mask symptoms of other B vitamin problems so be careful.

So. Other than my questions, I can say that I:

- Eat an extremely healthy diet, rich in leafy greens, colourful veggies, whole grains, very little dairy, no processed foods whatsoever, and no meat, other than fish maybe once every two months.

- I don't smoke, though I drink socially

- I take a multivitamin and a B 100 complex daily, as well a very strong probiotic, and a bowl of natural, organic yoghurt with breakfast (the B complex and multi are more than enough too cover my folic acid levels and I remain skeptical that folic acid does work until someone tells me why! :)

- I don't eat sugar, and have switched my caffeine source down from coffee, to black tea, to green tea. I've been drinking green tea now for a while, with no honey or sugar in it.

- I'm in a monogamous relationship with a person who I trust. And we're not even having regular sex due to this problem, so it's not getting re-aggravated by sexual activity.

- I use unscented bath products, don't overwash (once daily with natural, unscented soap), never use scented menstrual products (organic cotton tampons are all I use).

I'm living like a bloody saint! But the second I miss a dose of the probiotics, the stank is back!! If the probiotics work while I'm taking them, why don't they change the problem permanently? Is it only masking the problem? Is the problem wreaking havoc under that mask?

So why should I do the boric acid or the apple cider vinegar? If you've taken them, where did you get the directions/information to do so? I'm not sticking boric acid up my cooter without hard evidence that I'm not going to burn a hole into bowel-ville by doing so.

Likewise, the ACV. Drinking vinegar is not good for my body (candida) either.

The probiotics work, but only while I'm taking them! What to do people! What to do!

Good luck to you all!

Ive have done alot of research on BV and have tried everything that Ive read, others have told me that works and I was so angry that I had this problem, upset that a doctor knew nothing on how to fix it and not to mention embarassed to be around others much less have relations with my boyfriend. I wondered into Wild Oats and found probiotics with 2 strains (Lactobacillus rhamnosus, and Lactobacillus reuteri). It cost about $24.00 (dont buy off the internet because it has to be kept refrigerated at all time). I took it and nothing much the first day...but on the second day I was feeling SO SO much beter and by the third day...no discharge, itching, foul smell. Im amazed...and i threw away all the BS in my cabinet. I stopped taking it after two weeks and was fine for about a week and then WHAMMY...it was back. I started up on it yesterday and today its like nothing happened. I take ONE pill ONCE a day, no douching, no 6-7 pills a day of folic acid and acidophilus. The pills that you buy over the counter dont work...it has to be refrigerated to keep the bacteria alive! I hope that this helps people!!

Hello ladies! I too suffer from this terrible thing that we call BV and have for over 10 years on and off. I have tried everything from antibiotics, to yogurt covered tampons and my symptoms have gone away for a short while and then bam theyre back again. It seems like a never ending battle and the smell not even I can handle! In doing online research as I know you all have, I came across a website that mentioned Lactobacillus which is the sister of acidophilus as it was put. Anyways I searched high and low for these pills until I finally found them. The reason it to so long to find is it is actually a live culture pill that needs to be refridgerated so you need to ask your pharmacist for them. they are over the counter so you dont need a prescription and cost around $11. Make sure to keep them refrigerated because they are live cultures. You have to insert the daily dosage of 4-5 pills into your vagina just as you would almost with yeast infection medicine and let them sit over night. I personally noticed a difference the next morning, smell was gone no itching ect...but you are to continue it for 7 days. For me this was a god send but as we know all our bodies react differently. Now this has cured it for a while and then of course the BV rears its ugly head again so I personally keep a bottle of these pills in my fridge at all times and when i notice it I just go ahead and do a few nights of the pill treatment. I hope this helps some of you ladies out there because I know how horrible this is!!!

So anyways again I went out and bought Natures Bounty Extra strength acidophillus pills which has 1 billion per pill.... didnt have much of a selection. Ive been take 2 every day for the past 3 days. and my smell is far more less then it was before taking.

I have started having smelling and discharge issues since i got off BC back in 2003, then got preggo and it got worse, doctor could have cared less cuz i was medicaid patient. so i was never prescribed or tested for anything other then the normal pap's, all were ok except i was positive for beta strep whatever. so anyways gave birth , still had it , off medicaid, no doctor, so i just dealt with it, got preggo again and still had it and no doctor did anything. they said it was normal. ok so then i finally snagged one of my lil sisters scripts for metronidale or whatever... my issues cleared up the next day and i was clear of anything for about 4 months then i got it again . and its just like before no nothing , just smelly and white stuff coating my insides. so here i am , completely fed up , and ready for this crap to go away and really i dont care what i gotta do.

funny thing i have had 20+ sex partners in my life and no one problem from 14-18, then i met my current man for the past almost 8 years and now i got someone forever that we got struggle with this crap !

DOCTORS, THIS NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED IMEDIATELY BEFORE YOU HAVE BIG OVERWHELMING MESS OF SMELLY WOMEN COMING FOR YOU! THIS IS REALLY RIDICULLOUS AND REALLY UNFAIR THAT WE HAVE TO UNDERGO ALL THIS JUST SO WE SAY THAT YEA WE ARE CLEAN AND PEOPLE BELIEVE US! I MEAN COME ON!

I came across this site approximately 2 weeks ago to the day. I've been dealing with BV and yeast infections for the past 2yrs. My doctor on several occasions stated that BV is caused by having multiple partners and/or from unprotected oral/vaginal sex. I would have sex with my partner and then a few days later I was suffering from fishy odor, discharge and irritation. I Would go back to the dr. each time complaining of the aforementioned symptons. He once again prescribed metro gel or metro tablets. I found the gel to be a waste, but the tables did work until the next round of intercourse. Which unfortnately, wasn't on a regular basis. I happen to read one of the posts regarding Probiotics-L. Acidophilus, Rhamnosus and B. Longum. I decided i have nothing to lose but the nasty infection, etc. I went to The Vitamin Shoppe and purchased PEARLS IC Probiotics 1 billion CFU and a bottle of Ultimate 10 Probiotic-13 billion live organism. I take 2 of the pearls ,one of the Ultimate, multi vitamin and one 400mg folic acid tablet in the morning w/ breakfast. And then one or two of the Pearls at bedtime. I'm happy to type that feel soo much fresher and dryer!! Amazing!! I noticed I'm less constipated as well. Just want to say THANK YOU THANK YOU!! I feel like a FREE WOMAN NOW!!

i suffered from BV for almost six months after taking just one round of powerful antibiotics! the smell was awful, and my self esteem really began to suffer. i just went to work and came straight home! i knew i had to restore my good flora, and it does take time, so i had to be patient. i kept going to my gynecologist, and thankfully, she encouraged my attempts to find a natural cure, and respected my desire to refrain from taking any more antibiotics. after finding out about probiotics, i started with just regular acidophilus, which did nothing! then, i found out that they need to contain more than acidophilus, specifically L. Rahmnosus and bifidobacterium longum. This combination worked magic!! it is sold in the United States...i was living in Atlanta at the time, and found it easily at co-ops and health food stores. also widely available online. just make sure those two are in there along with the acidophilus. i should also mention that i was suffering from IBS at the time, which also cleared up. i still take probiotics (one a day) to maintain intestinal health, and they are great. (this was three years ago.) generally only get sick once a year, and a bad cold doesn't turn into bronchitis anymore. good luck!

BV, I was just diagnosed with BV. I was smelling myself and the doctor said no one else could. I did not believe that. I ran to the heath Food store because I could not see myself taking antibotics all the time. I found Nature's Way Primadophilus Intensive $30 in a matter of 2 hours the odor was gone. I took it for 5 day. The package recommends to take it for 10. The symptoms were gone for 4 weeks I'm taking it again, now and I'm happy I do not smell anything.
