I used to suffer from acid reflux until someone recommended me to try red apple delicious. It really helped and even my sister and some of my friends tried it too. The ripe ones work better.

I guess everyone is different. I have bad heartburn and tried the apples a few times, but it didn't help at all. I am on second day of PPI and am going to stop now. I will try the aloe vera and if that does not work I will try the Apple Cider Vinegar with baking soda.

I just eat 1/2 an apple anytime I eat acidic food and acidity is bothering due to overeating or fried food. It has helped me. I don't take any medicines, always the natural cure. It works. Doctors were writing prescriptions for my acid reflux but thank God I checked home remedies.

Im 18 years old and studying in college, when 3 days ago I justs started feeling this sensation like acid was backing up in my throat. So the first day I ignored it, but it continued to grow worse so on the second day I started popping tums and they didn't help at all. So on the third day I decided not to eat anything at all in hopes that the sensation would go away. Well haha, halfway through the day it still persisted and I couldn't take it anymore so I got online, found this website, and out of desperation tried eating apples. To my surprise, within 30 minutes the sensation cleared right up and I feel much better. The weird feeling in my throat is not completly gone, but I feel like if I keep eating the apples and stay away from trigger foods, I will be fine :) thanks for this great tip

Having recently found out that I am too a sufferer of acid reflux I am sooooooo glad I found this site!! After reading these comments about apples I thought I would give it a go as I'd far prefer to do this than take medication for the rest of my life! No joke, within half an hour of me eating my first apple that awful burning in my throat started to ease up. 24 hours later after having a few apple slices after every meal the burning has gone completely. I am still taking my medication but when I report this to my doctor when I see him next week maybe he will allow me to stop.... You know what they say, "An apple a day"... (I don't need to say the rest!!! 3 cheers for the good old apple!!

Keeping this short so as not to repeat information -- I stopped taking my meds for a couple days till symptoms appeared. Tried the ACV, and it didn't really work (for the reflux). Tried the almonds, worked slightly. Ate the apple...worked almost immediately!!! I was amazed. Since then I have been eating on average 2 apples a day, drinking apple juice with my meals (which seems to work also). I still am experimenting with the ACV though...but for my sinus clogs and allergies...too early to tell but that seems to be working slowly as well.

Thanks to all who post here and to the site owners for helping people try to find more healthy ways to live. The part that really chaps my hide though is that doctors HAVE TO KNOW that these remedies exist and work and yet they still try and sell us on those prescription meds.

I have suffered from Acid Reflux for over 10 years and have been on a precribstion for at least 7 years. I still have problems from time to time and noticed that eating an apple helped me. I think I just lucked up with that, I tried it only a few times and it seemed to work, so I deciced to google apples helping with reflux and found this site! It is good to know it is not just me, it really works! One apple (I have used Granny Smith, Gala, Red Delishious and all worked fine)

Just eat a small to medium size apple in the evening before bedtime, or after dinner. Better than vinegar, and tastes much better.

I am 32 years old. I tried the pickle juice remedy that I read about on this site. Being a pickle lover, I was open to trying it! I drank some of the juice from a jar of kosher dills. I felt some relief a few minutes later. The pain from the acid burning diminished, but did not go away. I also read that apples do the trick, but not having any apples on hand, I turned to my jar of organic apple sauce. It is helping also. I think more so than the pickle juice did. Cold applesauce had a cooling effect to help ease the burn of the acid. If you have a very sensitive stomach, I recommend trying the apples or applesauce first, before the pickle juice. Good luck!
