Will Chewing on Coconut Meat Give Results Like Coconut Oil?

I just wanted to know if instead of taking virgin coconut oil (which is hard to get) can one just chew the coconut meat and will it work like the oil?

Im curious too if regular coconut is as beneficial as coconut oil.
