Will ACV Help Animals, Repel Insects?

My granddaughter is very active in 4-H. She shows swine, lambs, goats and cattle. Will ACV help with these animals like so many folks have commented about it helping their horses with flies, etc.

EC: In his book Folk Medicine, DC Jarvis gives a detailed account of feeding acv to cattle and swine in the 1950s. Highly recommended book.
