Modern Day Alternative to Bismuth Formic Iodide?

Posted By Nj (Victoria, Australia) on 03/01/2017

Question: Does anyone know of an alternative to (BFI) Bismuth Formic Iodide, which is no longer available in Australia. This was apparently used in WW1 and WW2 and Korea for wound care, but I understand that it is no longer available because the 'powers that be' prefer to have antibiotics prescribed, with not the same amount of effect!! Would appreciate feedback please. Thank you.
