How Should I Ingest Coconut Oil?

Posted By Reem (Waldwick, New Jersey) on 05/16/2012

Hi, I just bought myself some coconut oil and have been using it as a moisturizer on my arms and legs after showering. I have to say that it has already treated my keratosis pilaris and I'm very excited. Planning to use in my hair as well.

My question is how should I ingest it. I am 23 years old and I want to know exactly how much I should take on a daily basis. So far I have been mixing in about a teaspoon or less with my green tea but I'm not sure if that is too little. Would really appreciate some help.

Thanks!

Reem from Waldwick, New Jersey : You should take up to 2Tbsp coconut oil per day so definitely increase from 1tsp to at least 1Tbsp. If you don't want more in your green tea, try it in a smoothie or alternatively, stir fry vege's for dinner using coconut oil. There are heaps of ways to use it.

Hi Reem, I've read here that some folks ingest as much as 2 to 3 tablespoons of c.o. daily. I'll bet if you check out the 'remedies' tab (here) you'll gain much more info'. C.O. is great stuff!
