08/18/2012: Nikki from Faribault, Mn: Coconut oil is solid when the weathers cooler and thick liquid when it's hot. However, after gargling with coconut oil after just a couple of minutes, it turns very liquid and becomes a lot thinner. It's not unpleasant and oily in your mouth at all, it's beautiful in fact.

You can't gargle with coconut oil if it's solid (it's solid at anything over 76 degrees Fahrenheit).

To melt coconut oil easily, simply place the jar of oil into a saucepan of hot water. In about 6-10 minutes, the hot water will melt the oil in the jar. You can then take the cap off the car and pour a little of the liquid oil into a spoon and then put the liquid into your mouth. Then you can do your oil pulling and/or gargling.
