Questions About Using Food Grade H2O2 in a Cool Mist VaporizerPosted By Kris (Cocoa, Florida) on 02/11/2017
I've read about Food Grade Hydrogen Peroxide used in many ways for different ailments. I'm most interested in using it in a "Cool mist Vaporizer." I've got info on the Amounts, Measuements, the Warnings, but not certain details!
I have Severe Emphezema, and read doing this helps, and with Warding off Lung Cancer.
* I use Oxygen at night, have for years, because a test showed my Oxygen level goes down when I sleep. Will the Oxygen machine, and use, interfere with this protocol of the Hydrogen Peroxide?
*Also, How far from one';s face should the Vaporizer be? I can see from reg use, mist dissipates if too far away!
Any more info than the "Basics" I read about would be greatly appreciated!

Kris, I can provide only my experience with doing this. (I am not on oxygen or any other medical treatments. I am not a trained medical professional) I have been using food grade or USP grade H2O2 for several years in my cool mist vaporizer. During this time, I have not had a single respiratory illness....No colds / no flu / no allergies. Even when friends, family or others around me are ill. Additionally, the apt I live in has mold in the duct-work & elsewhere. Not severe amount of mold, not black mold; otherwise it would be condemned or I would move out. But, can still make one ill. However, as long as I run H2O2 every nite, I am good in the respiratory department. At one point, my old vaporizer 'died' (about 3 yrs ago) & I could not afford to replace it. I went without for about 2 or 3 months and boy! Did I pay big time. So, l have experienced being without after using H2O2 for a time & I will do all I can to never go without it again. Lf I am away & do not have a vaporizer or diffuser, I notice a negative difference. (Yes, works great in a diffuser, too. I just use straight 3% peroxide when I use only the diffuser, as reservoir is so small. And, you can put essential oils in it. I actually run both a vaporizer with H2O2 and a diffuser with essential oils every nite to ward off issues) In my opinion, closer to your face, the better. Mine is approx. 18 inches from my face, above level of my pillow so the mist 'settles down' on my face. I would have it closer, if I could. I had an issue finding true 'Food Grade' 35% H2O2 in my area for a reasonable price, but others here at earthclinic reported that Costco carries hydrogen peroxide that is equal to 'food grade', but is the regular 3% in the brown bottle in the pharmacy dept. It is USP grade, considered by some to be better than 'food grade'. (IDK if that is true or not) That is what I get.
Beware, though, that not all the Costco's carry the same brand. This is what to look for: On the back, look for "Drug Facts". "Active Ingredient" is listed, which is obviously hydrogen peroxide. Next to that, if the phrase (stabilized) occurs, this is NOT what you want to use in vaporizer. Find brand that is not (stabilized). l have actually found the proper version at many different places----Big Lots / Sam's / Hy-Vee (grocery store here in mid-west) drug stores and so on. The key is whether it contains stabilizers or not & is USP grade. (That is usually on front of bottle) Hope this helps & I wish you all the best! Please update later on......

How many drops of 35% H2O2 should I put in my diffuser? Thank you!!

Hey Gg!
Sorry I did not see your question sooner. Actually, I am not certain how many drops to use of the 35%, as all I have had access to for the last few years is the 3%. Since most diffusers have a small reservoir, I would guess to try just one drop of 35%. Then, if no noticeable H2O2 'smell', bump it up a drop at a time until it 'smells' right to you. Take care....Just guessing here, as I am not a licensed medical professional
