Hi Linda...From my research, I agree with you that Nascent Iodine will not detox heavy metals or halogens(bromine, fluorine) from the body like Lugols Iodine can. See this document for explanations:

Lugol's Iodine contains molecular iodine, iodide and triiodide all of which are beneficial for the body whereas Nascent Iodine contains only the triiodide.
That's why I will always prefer Lugol's Iodine. It just does more and has more all round benefit for the body. That's why I rarely recommend Nascent Iodine.
