Adding ACV to Hot Water Destroy Beneficial Properties?

Posted By Akhdar (Larkspur, Ca) on 01/31/2017

Hi, dears. I'm not sure where to post this question. My favourite drink, lately, is simmered ginger and lemon peel to which I add lemon juice and ACV once it is in my thermos. Really, really good.

My question is: is adding ACV just wasting good ACV? I tend to prefer hot drinks over cold but am assuming that the beneficial bacteria is destroyed by the heat? I know that the Vitamin C is (the reason I use the peel: there are other benefits). I enjoy the lemon and the vinegar taste but I don't want to fool myself if the best properties are destroyed by the heat.....

Can any of the probiotics/prebiotics survive the hot water? Thanks!
