Hi Mahi, Although Blood Type diets recommend to avoid coconut for blood group "O" but the advantages of taking coconut oil are so many that there is no harm in trying it and I don't think there could be any adverse effect of it. Baldev

Hi Mahi... I am blood type O and I have been taking coconut oil for years without any problems. It is also the only oil I use for cooking now. See this research on coconut oil benefits:

My husband and I have been taking coconut oil daily. It has improved my health. My husband has noticed his bottom number for his blood pressure has gone up greatly, in the nineties now. I have read where some have said coconut oil has increased their blood pressure. I am O neg and he is O pos, could that be the difference why it has helped one of us and not seeing any real help in the other one? Also how long of not taking coconut oil do you think before he will see if his blood pressure will drop?

Hi Mahi, I suggest you to use pure coconut oil from K-- CO----AD. Coconut oil being a naturally saturated oil does not contain any Trans fat. Since coconut oil is naturally saturated (>90%), it does not need hydrogenation, thereby considerably reducing the chances of high blood cholesterol and high low density lipoproteins (LDL). On the other hand, it helps retain high-density lipoproteins (HDL) - the good cholesterol.
