BHT for Smallpox?

Posted By Mtek (Missoula, MT) on 07/04/2022

Reading more fears of the release of smallpox into society. Knowing its severity, necessity for early treatment, I wonder if noting on my BHT (helps sheet) for possible help/remedy would be a reasonable plan? I recall reading that aspirin is not to be taken for smallpox. Lends the concern of what might be another ingredient or remedy that would be a reason not to use BHT. H2O2 is the other top remedy in my cabinet and same question would come to discussion.
Grateful for any wisdom shared.

Orthopoxvirus is a genus of viruses in the family Poxviridae and subfamily Chordopoxvirinae. Vertebrates, including mammals and humans, and arthropods serve as natural hosts. There are 12 species in this genus. Diseases associated with this genus include smallpox, cowpox, horsepox, camelpox, and monkeypox.

Orthopoxviruses are enveloped with brick-shaped geometries and virion dimensions around 200 nm wide and 250 nm long

BHT is known to inactivate enveloped viruses, do it is a reasonable assumption that it would be beneficial for Smallpox
