Urgent! Can BHT Be Used During Pregnancy for Hepatitis C?

Posted By Vicki (Orondo, Wa) on 04/08/2018

My niece is almost 5 months pregnant. She is a 29 year old addict in recovery for 9 months (thank God! ), now on suboxone. During active addiction, she contracted Hep C. I want to recommend Oscar's BHT regimen so she can get her viral load down during pregnancy, which will give her baby a better chance of not having the Hep C infection when she is born.

Does anyone have info as to whether the BHT can be used during pregnancy? To me, it's better than having a higher viral load and passing Hep C on to the baby, but I'm no doctor.

Thanks in advance for any information! And time is of the essence!

Dear Vicki,

I do not know about BHT in pregnancy. And I don't know how it would be combined with suboxone. It isn't supposed to be taken with other supplements, so it may not be compatible with other meds.

Dandelion leaf is considered safe in pregnancy and may be an option. Years ago, I knew someone who healed hepatitis with dandelion. I think it was with a tea, 3-4 cups a day.

There are reports of coconut oil (that kind that isn't processed) killing lipid coated viruses like Hepatitis C.

We have used Coconut oil for viruses with great success and it is a food! I give 3 Tablespoons a day but that amount bothers some people so it is best to start out with less.

Dear Mama to Many,

Thank you so much for your reply. I just saw it today! I will see if I can get my niece to at least take your suggestions of dandelion tea and coconut oil (and eating healthy), then after the baby is born in 3 months, maybe she can start on the BHT protocol (not sure about nursing while taking BHT or with Hep C?). I had hoped to help her get her viral load down so the risk of the baby having Hep C when she is born would be lower. If anyone else has any experience with treating for Hep C while pregnant it would be much appreciated. She is on state health insurance, so I'm not sure if it covers the expensive Hep C treatments like Harvoni.

Thanks again,

Vicki
