What can i do for 7 yo dogs incontinence

My 7 year old lab/wiemaraner mix is leaking. She was taken away from her mom too early and spayed at 6 months. I got her as a rescue but knew her former owners. It seems she's been leaking all her life, but they didn't know it, uhuh. I rent so this is a problem for us. I looked up the drugs given for this problem and no way am I giving those to her. She's on an herbal bladder strengthener and a homeopathic but her leaking is rapidly getting worse, anytime she is resting. She is very hard to pill and won't eat anything that's not her food. Any help out there? I love this dog and don't want to lose her. I promised her she'd be with me forever, she's had a lot of homes. Karen

I have a 55 lb. 15 year old mixed breed who has a leaky bladder. I give her a 500 mg magnesium citrate crushed up in her food at least every other day and it helps a great deal. Hope this helps.

If the leaking is related to UTI, D-mannose may help.

I have used Homeopathics quite successfully for my 12 year old female dog. It is a little bottle with a squirter at the end, all you have to do it squirt three drops three times a day into their mouth. It will absorb immediately into their gums or tongue. I don't believe it takes like anything either. My dog doesn't mind it at all. I have a friend who also squirts it onto her dogs food, but again its just three drops, your dog probably won't even notice it on her food or on a treat.
